Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the pastor's leadership style and the welfare of serving on the motivation to serve Sunday school teachers in GBI sector 1, East Jakarta. The method used in this study is a correlational survey. The research sample was 35 people who were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in collecting data was a questionnaire. The validity test used the Pearson Product Moment formula, and the reliability was analysed using the Alpha Cronbach formula. Based on testing the significance of the multiple correlation coefficient, the coefficient is 46.911 with a P-value of 0.000. Because the P-value is less than 0.05, it is very significant, then H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between the leadership style of the pastor and the welfare of serving together with the motivation to serve with a multiple correlation coefficient (Ry.12) of 0.864. The coefficient of determination (R2y.12) is 0.730, which means that 73.00% of the variance in serving motivation can be explained by the pastor's leadership style and the welfare of performing together.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the bride's value in the Banggainese (in Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia) dowry tradition from the concept of man and woman as Imago Dei in Genesis 1: 26-27. The method used is a literature study with content analysis as a data analysis technique. The results showed that the prospective bride's value in the Banggainese dowry tradition contradicts the human concept as Imago Dei in Gen 1: 26-27. As Imago Dei, women and men are created equal and are equally servants of Allah whose position is above other creations. The bride's value in the Banggainese dowry tradition shows that women's status is lower than men. It put a prospective bride as an object who could exchange for family prestige and adjusted with things like money.

Abstract

The understanding of Christ in local customs and culture is still very minimal. Christ has been known only from the western face. Discussions around the nature of Jesus as God or man. There are several writings on Christology in culture, for example, wayang in Javanese culture. Papuan also knew Jesus is known as the Reconciler. In Toraja, Jesus is known as Pangala Tondok. So the author wants to offer one of the Christologies in the Tetun culture. This research explores the Belu people's lives, especially in performing the oa mata musan ritual. This paper does not address the theological debate about the nature of Jesus. However, this study discusses how local people can understand Jesus in their existence. The research method used by the author is phenomenology. Phenomenology is used as a tool to understand facts in the field. This paper contains an offer to the Belu people regarding how they know Christology through their custom. They can realise Christ incarnate in the form of Oa Mata Musan. Oa Mata Musan as a mediator or mediator for conflicting families. Thus Jesus is present as a peacemaker.

Abstract

The rise of money politics transactions in every election event causes the Christian's ethical confusion, between involving oneself as a form of political responsibility or withdraw as an ascetic endeavour. This study aims to examine the issue of money politics from the point of view of Christian ethics by basing it on the thoughts of Norman L. Geisler regarding the ethics of graded absolutism and the concept of leader qualifications according to Exodus 18:21. The research method used was a hermeneutic study. The results showed that according to the ethics of graded absolutism, Christians could make difficult choices to do money politics as long as they remain in the corridor of obeying the higher laws, loving God more than humans, loving God more than governments, and exercising mercy more than honesty.

Abstract

Jesus Christ is the Great teacher of great influence. Every teacher who wants to be successful must learn from Jesus who has pedagogical competence based on Matthew 5-7. The purpose of this study was to find the reasons why Jesus 'pedagogical competence based on Matthew 5-7 had not had a maximum impact and to find the implementation of Jesus' pedagogical competence in Sunday school teaching at the KIBAID Church in Tombang Congregation. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The informants involved were pastors, elders, Sunday school teachers, and parents. The results showed that the cause of Jesus' pedagogical competence based on Matthew 5-7 had not had a maximum impact on Sunday School teaching in the KIBAID Church of the Tombang Congregation due to lack of lesson planning preparation, lack of skill in choosing and using appropriate teaching strategies, lack of creativity in developing teaching methods. Therefore, it is necessary that Jesus' pedagogical competence based on Matthew 5-7 needs to be implemented with full love and attention to students, able to direct students, base teaching with prayer, and guide students to practice the truth.

Abstract

In this satudy the author discusses the concept of the Son of God which is applied to the person of Jesus Christ in the study of Apologetics. This topic is controversial because it often distors theological understanding as if the Christian faith teaches that God has biological children and this creates a theological misunderstanding. This sometimes understood by non-Christian.Therefore, the author will use the study of literature in research in order to explain the phenomenon under study. This study shows that the concept of the Son of God is not a concept that means the biological son of God. But the concept of the son of God is a concept that has meaning: first, Jesus is equal to God the Father. Second, Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God as well as having a personal relationship with the Father, so that it is the Son who reveals the entire existence of the Father. who has uniquely revealed the exixtence of the Father.

Abstract

In the Old Testament, circumcision was seen as a major part of establishing oneself as part of God's people. In the adoption of Israel as God's people at Sinai, every Israelite must be circumcised. It is based on God's command to Abraham, as a sign of the covenant. But actually the culture of circumcision is not a typical Israeli culture, but is a culture that is common in the Middle East, the only thing that distinguishes the culture of Israeli circumcision from the Middle East is in God's decree in the covenant that raised Israel (a descendant of Abraham) as God's people. So there is a spiritual meaning in the cultural content of circumcision in the Old Testament for the Israelites. It turns out that the spiritual understanding of circumcision is not only owned by Israel, because this is also owned by the Nias Tribe. By using qualitative research methods, which are complemented by a literature study approach, this research results in an understanding that the culture of circumcision for the Nias tribe is a culture that signifies them as God's people. So that circumcision is an absolute for every Nias community.
