Jurnal Banua Oge Tadulako (JBOT) is a national recognized journal in the field of education. It is published twice a year (May dan November). The aim of this journal is to publish high quality studies in the areas of instruction, learning, teaching, curriculum development, learning environments, teacher education, educational technology, and educational developments. Studies may relate to any level of education, from high school to higher education. The studies can be the results of field research and literature review. JBOT, being a national accredited journal, our editorial advisory board members are from various countries around the world. The manuscripts sent to the Journal are always reviewed by two members of the Editorial Board (double blind peer review), and in some cases, if necessary, by another member of the Board. Depending on the evaluation reports of the members of the Editorial Board, articles are published or not. Manuscript evaluation process takes approximately three months. The authors are responsible for the errors, if any, in their published articles. The articles need to be not published elsewhere previously.

Abstract

A Classroom Action Research at the 9th-Year Students of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu, 2019/2020 academic year aimed at finding out the students’ real portrait English writing performave.  The truism showed that the teachers of English had not found effective assessment strategy to elicit accurate assessment results about their students’ actual performance. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and find a new assessment strategy to solve this problem. It is found that the efective assessment strategy is classroom-based assessment with the following procedures. First, preparation or introductory step that include three activities: (1) introducing the idea of classroom-based assessment and procedure of its implementation to students, (2) specifying/ informing teaching and assessment objectives and selecting writing tasks, and (3) specifying aspects to be assessed and criteria of assessment. Second, assessment activities include four activities: (1) observing students’ performances in writing process, (2) assessing students’ knowledge on basic skills for paragraph writing, (3) getting students’ responses and feelings toward the learning activities, and (4) assessing/evaluating students’ writing product as product assessment. For Junior High students, holistic assessment is recommended

Abstract

This study aims to develop integrated science teaching materials on energy materials with a contextual approach for junior high school students. The theme used in the teaching materials is the source of energy in life. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) based on the steps of the ADDIE model. The research was conducted through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The teaching materials developed were validated by material expert validators and media expert validators, then teaching materials were given to science teachers and 20 students to find out responses to the developed teaching materials. The data collection instrument in this study was a questionnaire/questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-4. The subjects in this study were grade VII students. The results of the assessment of teaching materials developed by material experts were 3.60 categorized as "Very Good", the average score of media experts was 3.53 categorized as "Very Good", the average teacher assessment score was 3.35 and categorized " Very Good", and the results of student analysis obtained an average score of 3.35 and categorized as "Strongly Agree". The results of the study indicate that the teaching materials that have been developed are suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis metode eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan the equivalent pretest-posttes design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen hasil belajar berupa tes pilihan ganda yang telah divalidasi melalui validasi ahli dan validasi item tes. Rata-rata tes akhir yang mengikuti model pembelajaran problem based learning adalah 16,43 dengan standar deviasi 3,05 dan rata-rata yang mengikuti model konvensional adalah 14,97 dengan standar deviasi 3,09. Hasil perhitungan statistik dari pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t didapatkan harga thitung sebesar 1,82 dan ttabel pada taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 58 adalah 1,67. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis metode eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament disertai Joyful Learning terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas X SMAN 5 Palu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen kuasi dengan desain the non-equivalent control group design. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar fisika dalam bentuk pilihan ganda yang telah di uji coba. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data, untuk kelas eksperimen diperoleh rerata skor tes akhir adalah 13,63 dengan nilai ketuntasan klasikal 54,52 % dengan standar deviasi yaitu 3,17. Untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh rerata skor tes akhir adalah 8,23 dengan nilai ketuntasan klasikal 32,92 % dengan standar deviasi 2,91. Dari hasil analisa data tes akhir yang ada diperoleh nilai ttabel 1,67 sedangkan nilai thitung 7,43. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa thitung berada didalam daerah penolakan H0. Dengan demikian H0 ditolak dan H1 di terima. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata nilai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol pada taraf nyata berbeda secara signifikan dengan kelompok siswa yang mendapatkan model Direct Instruction. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament disertai Joyful Learning terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas X SMAN 5 Palu.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of vitamin C levels and antioxidant activity in red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has been carried out using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. In this study, fresh dragon fruit flesh was mashed with a blender and the maceration method with 96% absolute ethanol solvent was carried out three times. The meseration results were evaporated using a rotary evaporator to obtain a thick extract. In the DPPH free radical scavenging test and the determination of vitamin C levels in red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) the original vitamin C was used as a comparison. In determining the levels of vitamin C in the extract, the extract solution was made with a concentration of 1000 ppm which was determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, showing that the levels of vitamin C in the extract of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) had an average vitamin C content of 31.413 mg/100g. In the antioxidant activity test of the extract solution, various concentrations were made, namely 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm and 250 ppm, the average percentage of antioxidant activity was 19,859

Abstract

Chayote and green beans are classified as plants that contain various vitamins. Vitamins in the human body can function as antioxidants and metabolic regulators. Management of chayote and green beans into flour is still not implemented. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamins A, C and E contained in biscuits from the formulation of chayote flour and mung bean flour. Determination of levels of vitamins A, C and E in biscuits using UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The results of this study indicate that biscuits with a ratio of 0:100% (0:200 grams) contain 0.0063 mg/100g of vitamin A, 12.740 mg/100g of vitamin C and 0.0026 mg/100g of vitamin E; a ratio of 25:75% (50:150 grams) containing 0.0044 mg/100g of vitamin A, 13,406 mg/100g of vitamin C and 0.0019 mg/100g of vitamin E; a ratio of 50:50% (100:100 grams) containing 0.0038 mg/100g of vitamin A, 14,826 mg/100g of vitamin C and 0.0033 mg/100g of vitamin E; a ratio of 75:25% (150:50 grams) containing 0.0071 mg/100g of vitamin A, 15.397 mg/100g of vitamin C and 0.0040 mg/100g of vitamin E; the ratio of 100:0% (20:0 gram) contains 0.0046 mg/100g of vitamin A, 14,258 mg/100g of vitamin C and 0.0039 mg/100g of vitamin E. The results of this study are expected to help the community in cultivating and processing chayote and green beans into biscuit flour which is rich in vitamin content.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar fisika siswa melalui penggunaan metode edutainment berbantuan animasi komputer. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen quasi dengan desain non randomized pretest-posttest control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Palu. Teknik Sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Proposive Sampling dengan sampel penelitian adalah kelas X Mipa 5 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas X Mipa 6 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk soal pilihan ganda. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa nilai rerata tes awal (pretest) kelompok eksperimen 8,38 dengan standar deviasi 2,66 dan tes awal (pretest) kelompok kontrol yaitu 7,58 dengan standar deviasi 3,10. Dan nilai rerata tes akhir (posttest) kelompok eksperimen 14,38 dengan standar deviasi 3,10 dan tes akhir (posttest)  kelompok kontrol yaitu 11,31 dengan standar deviasi 2,97. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, diperoleh t_hitung=6,15 dan t_(0,975(68))=1,71 pada taraf nyata a=0,05. Ini berarti bahwa nilai t_hitung berada diluar daerah penerimaan H_0. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar  fisika siswa melalui penggunaan metode edutainment berbantuan animasi komputer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan intuisi siswa SMA dalam memecahkan masalah fisika berdasarkan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah yang dikemukakan oleh Polya ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X Mia1 SMA Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora. Responden ini terdiri dari 12 responden penelitian, yang terdiri dari 4 orang siswa yang memiliki kemampuan fisika tinggi (2 perempuan dan 2 laki-laki), 4 orang siswa yang memiliki kemampuan fisika sedang (2 perempuan dan 2 laki-laki), dan 4 orang siswa yang memiliki kemampuan fisika rendah (2 perempuan dan 2 laki-laki). Soal yang disajikan dalam penelitian ini adalah materi suhu dan kalor. Butir soal yang disajikan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal pemecahan masalah bertipe verbal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada penelitian ini tidak adanya perbedaan pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan oleh siswa perempuan dan laki-laki. Kategori intuisi yang digunakan siswa yaitu kategori intuisi afirmatori dengan jenis kognisi intrisic certainly. Dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan gender tidak berpengaruh dalam proses memecahkan masalah fisika.

Abstract

Problem Based-Learning (PBL) is often contrasted with the conventional learning and to modified technical and strategic of learning based-on problem in the classroom. Since it used to discovery and modified learning routine educators or teacher in the past ten years (Cifti, 2015; Nur Jannah, 2014; Ananth & Rusiyanto, 2012; Susanti, E., Ritonga, M., & Bambang, B., 2020; Minardi, J., & Akbar, A. S., 2020). Research by Susanti, E., Ritonga, M., & Bambang, B., 2020; Minardi, J., & Akbar, A. S., 2020 stated that the Problem Based-Learning is significantly and good proof able to increase the attention and the interest of student in active learning. However, the use of Problem Based-Learning by the teacher as a learning agent becomes ineffective if the student were not interested in the problems to be solved in the class. Therefore, it takes strategic and technical of learning by the role of instructional media to stimulate student interest. The Technical and strategic use media which could be integrated in learning media above, Power Point is selected and issued could to increase, motivate, support the model of Problem Based-Learning (PBL). Problem Based-Learning (PBL) is learning of media can appropriate media to focus and alternative media to address these issues.

Abstract

Lack of student learning motivation results in students being less able to understand basic science concepts, so the quality of science education tends to be low. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model on critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes in the experimental and control groups. The sample in this study consisted of 50 students. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical approach, N-Gain, and simple linear regression. The results showed that based on the data management hypothesis, it was obtained that there was an influence of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills. In addition, the N-Gain results show that as many as 24 students from the experimental class have increased critical thinking skills in the high category, while in the control class, only 10 students have increased critical thinking skills in the high category. The experimental class students' science learning outcomes showed that 20 students were in the high category and only 12 students from the control class were in the high category. So it can be concluded that guided inquiry in the field of science studies affects critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes for fifth grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 18 Barru, Barru Regency.
