Education & Learning is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Medan Resource Center. The journal aims to facilitate academic articles and scholarly writings on empirical research in the field of education. The journal emphasizes the importance of appreciating the interplay of local, national, regional, and global contexts and dynamics in shaping education for learning. It covers education in its broadest sense, including both formal and non-formal modes, from preschool to adult education. It is also interested in comparative studies that explore these approaches to deepen our understanding of the relationship between education and learning. The journal is published biannually in February and August and accepts articles in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Indonesian history textbook used in the 2013 curriculum at SMAN 1 Rupat, Riau Province. Indonesian history textbooks are still the main source of learning in the learning process. The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia has provided Indonesian history textbooks in the 2013 curriculum. Therefore, it is interesting to look at the characteristics of the 2013 curriculum itself. This is closely related to the background and objectives of implementing the 2013 curriculum and books as a support tool for the curriculum. The research method used is library research which is research based on searching the literature related to the issues to be discussed. The data in this library research is obtained through extracting and tracing Indonesian history textbooks, journals, and internet sites with reliable sources. The results show that the use of Indonesian history textbooks at SMAN 1 Rupat is in accordance with the background of the 2013 curriculum implementation objectives. In the future, it is necessary to study the use of Indonesian history textbooks in the current Merdeka Belajar concept.

Perkembangan multikulturalisme di Indonesia dewasa ini masih mengalami beberapa permaslahan seperti premanisme, perseteruan politik, kemiskinan, kekerasan, saparatisme, perusakan lingkungan dan hilangnya rasa kemanusiaan untuk sealalu menghormati hak-hak orang lain. Berdasarkan permasalahn tersebut perlu adanya strategi khusus dalam memecahkan persoalan tersebut melalui berbagai bidang antara lain bidang sosial, politik, budaya, ekonomi dan pendidikan.. Kurangnya pemahaman mengenai konsep pendidikan multikultural di sekolah dan lingkungan masyarakat menjadi penyebab utama. Permasalahan tersebut menuntut siswa untuk lebih memahami konsep pendidikan multikultural di era saat ini agar seluruh komponen siswa mampu berpikir dan berperilaku bijaksana serta menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai perbedaan di lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat. Salah satunya melalui pendidikan multikultural dalam pembelajaran sejarah yang mengacu pada nilai-nilai luhur yang terdapat pada kebudayaan daerah. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini untuk mendeskripsikan konsep-konsep pendidikan multikultural berlandaskan nilai-nilai yang terdapat pada kebudayaan masyrakat Pandhalungan. Melalui nilai-nilai tersebut dapat memberikan pemahaman terhadap remaja mengenai pendidikan multikultural. Berdasarkan uraian di atas melalui konsep pendidikan multikultural dewasa ini diharapkan siswa mampu memberikan manfaat untuk lingkungan pendidikan di sekolah dan masyarakat.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana perbandingan tingkat pernikahan usia dini wanita di desa dan kota. Sehingga berdampak pada ketimpangan dalam segi pendidikan. Kasus utama dilihat perempuan sebagai objek dari tulisan ini. Perbandingan perempuan desa dan kota dalam menanggapi pernikahan usia dini menjadi hambatan untuk meraih pendidikan. Belum lagi bagaimana budaya dan paradigma orang desa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan pernikahan usia dini menjadi hal yang mudah, hal ini dilihat dari tingginya kasus pernikahan usia dini di desa yang menyimpulkan bahwasanya pendidikan bukan lagi hal yang penting bagi anak. Fenomena ini menunjukan bahwasanya nilai-nilai dari kearifan lokal harus dipertahankan tanpa harus memikirkan kondisi pendidikan dari anak itu sendiri. Metode dalam penelitian ini mengunakan fenomenologi, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui buku, jurnal dan media cetak maupun online.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana perbandingan tingkat pernikahan usia dini wanita di desa dan kota. This study aims to determine the use of the State Museum of North Sumatra as a source of learning history at the high school level in the city of Medan. In the learning process the teacher can choose learning resources that are in accordance with the material. One of the learning resources that can be used by history teachers in the city of Medan is the North Sumatra State Museum. It is hoped that the use of museums as a learning resource can enrich historical knowledge and can foster interest and historical awareness. The research method used is library research (library research), which is research based on searching the literature related to the issues to be discussed. The data in this library research was obtained through digging and tracing the use of museums as learning resources by history teachers at SMA PAB 1 Medan, SMA Negeri 11 Medan, SMA Negeri 5 Medan, SMA Al-Ulum Medan, journals, and internet sites with reliable sources. The results show that the museum can be used as a learning resource by high school teachers in Medan and has been adjusted to the 2013 curriculum.

Understanding the meaning in a poem requires a theory. The object of this research is the poem Piatu by F. Aziz Manna. The theory used in this research is Michael Riffaterre's semiotics. The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of poetry through heuristic reading, hermeneutic reading, models, matrices, and variants as well as moral education values. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is the heuristic reading in the poem entitled Piatu, there are eight stanzas that produce the meaning of the poem based on language convention, not yet at the meaning. In the hermeneutic reading in the poem entitled Piatu, there are eight stanzas which in total contain the meaning of the longing of a child (immature) who does not have a mother anymore because he has passed away. This longing is a manifestation of a child's love and affection for his mother. This love and affection made him stronger and more willing to accept all the conditions given by Allah. The model in this poem is the Orphan. The matrix is ??a child whose mother has abandoned because of her death. The variants in this poem include: I don't cry or laugh; Flowers that embrace twigs; this solitude is strange. The values ??of moral education are respect for mothers and the command to love orphans.

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of reward sticker picture on discipline in learning in children at PAUD Tunas Kuala, Medan Johor District?. The type used in this study is the pre-experimental method and the research design used in this study is the one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all children in Group B at PAUD Tunas Kuala for the 2020-2021 academic year, consisting of the blue group and the red group, totaling 30 children. The sample in this study was the children of group B class Blue, totaling 15 children consisting of 9 girls and 6 boys. Data collection tools and techniques used are observation and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the average value of the pre-test of child discipline was 60.4 and the average value of the post-test of child discipline was 79.2. Based on the results of the t test, the value of tcount > ttable is (11.65 > 2.144). Then it can be stated that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an effect of reward sticker picture on children's discipline in learning at PAUD Tunas Kuala, Medan Johor Subdistrict for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Thus, the hypothesis proposed that there is an effect of reward sticker picture on children's discipline in learning at PAUD Tunas Kuala Medan Johor District can be accepted as true.

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of motion and song on the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years in Chairul Athfal Belawan Kindergarten?. The research design used in this study is a one-group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were all children of group B in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling where all members of the population are used as samples. The sample of this study were all children in group B in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan, totaling 15 children consisting of 8 boys and 7 girls. Data collection techniques obtained by observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in analyzing the research data is normality test and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the pre-test study, the average pre-test value was 9.8 and the post-test results obtained an average value of 11.9. Based on the results of the t-test calculation, it is obtained that tcount > ttable (6.49 > 2.144) with a significance value of 0.000 less than 0.05, it can be stated that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted, which means that there is an influence of motion and song on the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan Academic Year 2020/2021.

This career understanding actually aims to provide direction to students to live the next life. Here students still do not have the readiness to enter the world of work because of the limited knowledge and knowledge they have so far. However, students will attend lectures first to practice their abilities so that later they can carry out a job that has been chosen properly. This study aims to describe the career understanding of students of class XII IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Canduang.This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 3 students as key informants and 1 BK teacher as supporting informants. In collecting data, researchers used the interview method. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display and data verification.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that this career understanding has been carried out well even though students still do not have the readiness to enter a world of work. In addition to understanding this career, students must also be able to understand: (1) Understanding themselves/self-understanding (2) understanding work (3) and also planning for the future. In understanding these 3 things students are able to understand themselves, for future planning students are able to plan future plans that will be lived later

The objective of the research was to determine whether there was a significant effect of the use of digital systems on the speaking skills of the students in Seventh Grade Junior High School. This research was a quantitative research with a quasy experimental design. It was conducted in seventh grade SMP Negeri 5 Tanjungbalai in the academic year 2020/2021. The total population was 93 students and researchers took 30 students for the experimental class and 30 students for the control class which meant 60 students as a total sample. In collecting data, researchers used orraly tests by speaking about the plot of the cartoon as instruments. Tests were pre-tests given before treatment and post tests given after treatment. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using t-test ar SPSS 16 with a significance level of 5% (0.05). Furthermore, the researcher found that the post –test mean score in the experimental class was higher than the control class (6.484 > 1.688). At a significant level of 5% (95% confidence level) which shows the score 18,976. The t-test result also showed that t0 (6.484) was higher than t table as a significance level of 5% (1.688). Therefore, the results of t0 > t table result that H0 (null hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (alternative hypotheiss) was accepted. The calculation of the effect size was 1.68 which was within the range of effect criteria including the strong effect. Thus, the use of the cartoon movie has a signficant effect on students’ speaking ability in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Tanjungbalai in academic year 2020/2021.

When conducting research, the researcher has several simple goals, namely to find out what difficulties students experience when studying with teachers, then what are the strategies used by teachers in overcoming learning difficulties that afflict all students, especially those who attend SMP Al-Farbi Sunggal Deli Serdang. To facilitate data collection, the researchers themselves when conducting field research using qualitative research types in terms of phenomenology so that when taking data the researchers used observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. As for the main data source in this study, PAI teachers at SMP Al-Farabi Sunggal Deli Serdang, in terms of analyzing data, the steps used were data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. students are like fatigue in terms of reading the Qur'an, this is where a teacher must be wise in providing solutions to these students because if left alone it will have a bad impact on students in the future.
