Journal of Community Service in Science and Engineering (JoCSE) publishes articles on community service and empowerment results that are problem-solving, comprehensive, meaningful, and sustainable, with clear goals. Community service and empowerment activities must have novelty, innovation, and creativity. The manuscripts do not just replicate the same activities in different places, have measurable results and impacts on society, and support achieving the goals outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDGs are a global plan agreed upon by world leaders to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect the environment. The SDGs contain 17 Goals and 169 Targets, so each article must be linked to these goals and targets (as stated in the contribution statement).

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dalam upaya pengenalan manufaktur komposit berpengisi bahan alam sebagai produk kerajinan ibu rumah tangga di Perumahan Metro Cendana, RT 01 dan 02, Kelurahan Kebondalem, Kecamatan Purwakarta, Banten telah dilakukan. Produk yang dibuat adalah gantungan kunci terbuat dari resin epoksi sebagai matriks dan daun/bunga/ranting kering sebagai filler/pengisi sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengurangi limbah alam. Rasio resin epoksi dengan katalis adalah 2:1. Penggunaan daun/bunga yang baru dipetik mengakibatkan warna daun/bunga akan menjadi pudar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan material komposit melalui demonstrasi pembuatan gantungan kunci berbahan komposit dan mengisi kuesioner untuk evaluasi terhadap kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan. Usia responden bervariasi dari 20 – diatas 60 tahun. Responden sebanyak 100% menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat menginspirasi dan bermanfaat serta terdapat 23% responden berminat menjadikan kerajinan gantungan kunci ini sebagai salah satu usaha bisnis karena belum adanya modal untuk memulai usaha ini secara mandiri. Community service activities to introduce composite manufacturing filled with natural materials as craft products for homemakers in Metro Cendana Housing, RT 01 and 02, Kebondalem Village, Purwakarta District, Banten, have been carried out. The product is a key chain made from epoxy resin as a matrix and dried leaves/flowers/twigs as a filler to reduce natural waste. The ratio of epoxy resin to catalyst is 2:1. Using freshly picked leaves/flowers will result in the color of the leaves/flowers fading. This service activity aims to introduce composite materials through a demonstration of making key chains from composite materials and filling out a questionnaire to evaluate the actions that have been carried out. Respondents' ages varied from 20 – over 60 years. 100% of respondents stated that this activity was very inspiring and helpful, and 23% were interested in making this key chain craft a business venture because there was no capital to start this business independently.

Abstract

PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) is one of the urea fertilizer producers in Indonesia. Pusri is a fertilizer factory that received the Green PROPER award from the Ministry of the Environment in 2011 and 2012 and the Green Industry award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2012. PT. Pusri demonstrated success in environmental management by achieving gold proper in 2022. Under the Minister of Environment Regulation (Permen LHK) No. 13 of 2021 concerning SISPEK (Continuous Industrial Monitoring Information System), which contains regulations regarding systems that aim to obtain emission data and information correctly, accurately, and continuously in an integrated manner. Data from monitoring stationary source emissions or stack emissions using continuous measurements or CEMS must be measured and evaluated. This study concerns the design of CEMS on the Induced Fan chimney in the Prilling Tower of the PIV Factory, which is designed to measure ammonia (NH3 Analyzer). The sampling probe has an automatic blowback function controlled automatically with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) or a simple relay. Blowback will use a water instrument with an available pressure of 4-7 kg/cm2. The NH3 (ammonia) measurement system is an extractive type. The NH3 component was measured using a laser beam and a power supply with specifications of 220 VAC, 50 Hz, and 1 phase with a measurement range of 0 ± 600 mg/NM3. PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) adalah salah satu produsen pupuk urea di Indonesia. Pusri adalah pabrik pupuk yang mendapatkan penghargaan PROPER Hijau dari Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup tahun 2011 dan 2012, dan penghargaan Industri Hijau dari Presiden RI tahun 2012. PT. Pusri menunjukkan keberhasilan dalam pengelolaan lingkungan, dengan meraih proper emas pada tahun 2022. Sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup (Permen LHK) No. 13 tahun 2021 tentang SISPEK (Sistem Informasi Pemantauan Industri secara Terus Menerus), yang berisi aturang mengenai sistem yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi emisi secara benar, akurat, dan terus-menerus secara terintegrasi. Data hasil pemantauan emisi sumber tidak bergerak atau emisi cerobong dengan pengukuran secara terus menerus atau CEMS harus diukur dan dievaluasi. Studi ini mengenai perancangan CEMS pada cerobong Induced Fan di Prilling Tower Pabrik PIV yang dirancang untuk mengukur ammonia (NH3 Analyzer). Sampling probe memiliki fungsi automatic blow back yang dikontrol secara otomatis dengan Programable Logic Control (PLC) atau relay sederhana. Blow back akan menggunakan instrument air dengan tekanan yang tersedia 4-7 kg/cm2. Sistem pengukuran NH3 (ammoniak) termasuk jenis extractive. Pengukuran komponen NH3 menggunakan sinar laser, serta power supply dengan spesifikasi 220 VAC, 50 Hz, dan 1 phase dengan range pengukuran 0 ± 600 mg/NM3.

Abstract

Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe diarrhea among children under five years of age worldwide. This study was conducted to detect the prevalence of Rotaviruses in children attending selected hospitals in Sokoto State. Three hundred fifty stool samples were collected from diarrheic children under five years of age. Samples were analyzed for Group A rotavirus antigens using the CUSABIO Human Rotavirus (RV Ag) ELISA kit. Rotaviruses were detected in stool samples of 53/350 children, given a 15.1% prevalence, with the infection occurring throughout the study period. The percentage of Rotavirus infections was 52.8% and 47.2 % among males and females, respectively. The Rotavirus cases were significantly higher in children below two years of age 32/53 (60.4%) than children between 2-5 years of age 21/53 (39.6%). The result further showed that 35/53(66.1%) of the positive cases exhibited three major symptoms of the disease, while 13/53 (24.5%) exhibited diarrhea with either fever or vomiting, while 9.4%(5/53) showed only diarrhea. Vaccination and other related interventions, including routine diagnosis, should be provided to safeguard public health against the Rotavirus. Rotavirus adalah penyebab paling umum diare parah pada anak di bawah lima tahun di seluruh dunia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeteksi prevalensi Rotavirus pada anak-anak yang dirawat di rumah sakit tertentu di Negara Bagian Sokoto. Tiga ratus lima puluh sampel tinja dikumpulkan dari anak-anak di bawah usia lima tahun yang menderita diare. Sampel dianalisis untuk antigen rotavirus Grup A menggunakan kit ELISA CUSABIO Human Rotavirus (RV Ag). Rotavirus terdeteksi pada sampel tinja 53/350 anak, dengan prevalensi 15,1%, dengan infeksi terjadi sepanjang masa penelitian. Persentase infeksi Rotavirus masing-masing adalah 52,8% dan 47,2% pada laki-laki dan perempuan. Kasus Rotavirus secara signifikan lebih tinggi pada anak-anak di bawah usia dua tahun 32/53 (60,4%) dibandingkan anak-anak antara usia 2-5 tahun 21/53 (39,6%). Hasilnya lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa 35/53 (66,1%) dari kasus positif menunjukkan tiga gejala utama penyakit, sementara 13/53 (24,5%) menunjukkan diare disertai demam atau muntah, sedangkan 9,4% (5/53) hanya menunjukkan gejala penyakit yang sama. diare. Vaksinasi dan intervensi terkait lainnya, termasuk diagnosis rutin, harus diberikan untuk menjaga kesehatan masyarakat terhadap Rotavirus.

Abstract

Perlindungan Hak Cipta sangat dibutuhkan untuk mencegah terjadinya pelanggaran hak ekonomi dan hak moral bagi sang pemilik. Peraturan mengenai Hak cipta telah diregulasi pada UU Hak Cipta dan UU kekayaan intelektual sehingga dapat membantu masyarakat dalam memahami dan mengatasi permasalahan mengenai hak cipta. Namun, masih banyak kejadian plagiasi maupun peniruan suatu desain, termasuk peniruan logo yang mana mereka tidak mendapat izin  sama sekali dari pencipta namun menggunakannya secara tidak bertanggung jawab. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan membuat bahan kajian mengenai upaya perlindungan hak cipta oleh pemerintah melalui UU. Metode penelitian hukum normatif yang mendekatkan pada UU digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Beberapa hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat beberapa perlindungan hukum yang dapat dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk membantu perlindungan keorisinilan dengan cara upaya preventif dan represif. Selain itu, dilakukan sosialisasi pada mayarakat mengenai HKI dan bagaimana langkah yang tepat ketika suatu karya diplagiasi. Copyright protection is necessary to prevent violations of the economic and moral rights of the owner. Regulations regarding copyright have been regulated in the Copyright Law and intellectual property law to help the public understand and resolve problems regarding copyright. However, there are still many incidents of plagiarism or imitation of designs, including fabrication of logos where they need permission from the creator but use them irresponsibly. This community service is carried out by creating study materials regarding efforts to protect copyright by the government through law. Normative legal research methods that are closer to the rule are used in this research. Some of the results obtained are that there are several legal protections that the government can implement to help protect originality using preventive and repressive efforts. Apart from that, socialization was carried out to the public regarding IPR and the appropriate steps when a work is plagiarized.

Abstract

Peningkatan pembelian barang bekas impor oleh masyarakat merupakan masalah yang cukup serius terutama berdampak pada industri garmen. Banyak masyarakat yang lebih memilih pakaian bekas impor daripada produk lokal. Masalah tersebut merupakan tantangan bagi industri garmen agar dapat bersaing dengan baik. Aturan mengenai pelarangan impor pakaian bekas sudah lama digencarkan oleh pemerintah untuk membantu industri garmen dalam negeri. Namun, belum ada perubahan signifikan terhadap permasalahan tersebut sehingga perlu adanya perlindungan yang kuat untuk produk garmen agar tetap bertahan di pasar domestik. Artikel ini akan fokus mengkaji mengenai aturan megenai impor pakaian bekas. Penelitian ini memakai metode penelitian hukum normatif yang melakukan pengkajian secara  empiris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa banyak sekali aturan pemerintah yang telah digencarkan mengenai pakaian impor. Selain itu, artikel ini memberikan pemahaman mengenai tinjauan ekonomi dari UU yang dikemukakan oleh para menteri dan solusi yang harus dihadapi industri garmen.The increase in purchases of imported second-hand goods by the public is a severe problem, significantly affecting the garment industry. Many people prefer imported used clothing to local products. This problem is a challenge for the garment industry to compete well. The government has long been intensifying regulations regarding prohibiting imports of used clothing to help the domestic garment industry. However, this problem has remained the same, so there needs to be strong protection for garment products to remain viable in the domestic market. This article will examine the regulations regarding the import of used clothing. This research uses normative legal research methods that carry out empirical studies. The results show that many government regulations have been intensified regarding imported clothing. In addition, this community service provides an understanding of the economic review of the law put forward by the ministers and the solutions that the garment industry must face.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah organik dan anorganik merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang sering terjadi di masyarakat. Pengembangan komunitas dan pengenalan teknologi pembuatan kompos dan lubang biopori merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan potensi lingkungan berupa pengelolaan sampah organik. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan dan focus group discussion (FGD). Permasalahan yang sering terjadi adalah sampah rumah tangga yang dibiarkan tidak terpilah dan langsung dikirim ke tempat pembuangan sampah menyebabkan banyaknya sampah yang menumpuk di tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA). Program ini fokus pada perubahan pola pikir masyarakat dalam menangani sampah rumah tangga, memilah sampah, dan membuat lubang-lubang biopori di setiap rumah dan lahan terbuka serta membuat komposter untuk mengolah sampah organik menjadi kompos. Management of organic and inorganic waste is one of the problems that often occurs in society. Community development and the introduction of composting technology and bio pore holes are efforts to increase environmental potential through organic waste management. The methods used in this service activity are counseling and focus group discussions (FGD). The problem is that household waste is left unsorted and sent directly to landfills, causing large amounts of garbage to pile up in final disposal sites (TPA). This program focuses on changing the community's mindset in handling household waste, sorting waste, making bio pore holes in every house and open land, and making a composter to process organic waste into compost.

Abstract

An independent village is a village that can carry out village development to improve the quality of life and life as much as possible for the welfare of rural communities with social resilience, economic resilience, and ecological resilience in a sustainable manner. One of the superior villages with a target to become an independent village is Panancangan Village, with various dynamic efforts to make it happen. Panancangan Village is one of the villages in Cibadak District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Three methods are used in the Independent Creative Village Program activities: internal discussions and online and offline activities. The independent creative village program has been implemented in this service activity. The activities include digital marketing seminars for MSMEs, health seminars (pulmonary TB), and traditional game competitions in the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day framework. Desa mandiri adalah desa yang mempunyai kemampuan dalam melaksanakan pembangunan desa untuk meningkatkan mutu kehidupan dan kehidupan yang sebesar-besarnya demi kesejahteraan masyarakat pedesaan dengan ketahanan sosial, ketahanan ekonomi, dan ketahanan ekologi secara berkelanjutan. Salah satu desa yang unggul dan mempunyai target untuk menjadi desa mandiri adalah Desa Panancangan, dengan berbagai upaya dinamis yang dilakukan untuk mewujudkannya. Desa Panancangan merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Cibadak, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan Program Desa Kreatif Mandiri ini ada tiga metode, yaitu diskusi internal, aktivitas online dan aktivititas offline. Program desa kreatif mandiri telah diterapkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini. Kegiatannya berupa seminar digital marketing untuk UMKM, seminar kesehatan (TB Paru), lomba permainan tradisional dalam rangka Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia.

Abstract

Jasaboga merupakan kegiatan usaha yang melayani pemesanan berbagai macam makanan untuk keperluan jamuan acara tertentu. Usaha ini semakin banyak peminatnya, salah satunya adalah usaha jasaboga di Desa Ciora Kecamatan Grogol Kota Cilegon yang berkembang sangat pesat. Unsur higiene dan sanitasi merupakan hal yang sangat penting tetapi belum menjadi perhatian khusus bagi pemilik industri jasaboga, “Dapoer Umi Ewi” memiliki beberapa permasalahan yang perlu diperhatikan diantaranya adalah tata letak rumah produksi dan penempatan peralatan belum memperhatikan unsur higiene dan sanitasi sehingga masih dimungkinkan terjadinya kontaminasi produk makanan dan dapat merugikan konsumen. Modifikasi yang dilakukan pada “Model Rumah Produksi Bersih” di desa Ciora diantaranya terdiri dari “Ruang Pengolahan” yang berguna untuk melakukan proses produksi, dan “Area Pencucian Peralatan dan Bahan Baku” untuk membersihkan alat masak dan bahan baku yang memerlukan air bersih dan tempat yang jauh dari kamar mandi serta tetap terjaga kebersihannya. Dalam hal ini faktor manusia atau unsur penjamah makanan juga sangat krusial karena manusia sebagai pelaku dalam proses rumah produksi tersebut. Faktor manusia sebagai tenaga kerja wajib dalam keadaan bersih. Perubahan tata letak ruang, dimana ditambahkan area penyimpanan bahan mentah yang berada di sebelah tempat cuci piring. Area ini dilengkapi dengan fasilitas seperti rak penyimpanan dengan ketinggian minimal 15 cm dari lantai dan 60 cm dari langit-langit ruangan. Catering services are business activities that order food for certain banquet events. More and more people are interested in this business, one of which is the food service business in Ciora Village, Grogol District, Cilegon City, which is multiplying. Hygiene and sanitation elements are essential but have not been given special attention to food service industry owners, "Dapoer Umi Ewi" has several problems that need to be considered, including the layout of the production house and placement of equipment that has not paid attention to the elements of hygiene and sanitation. Hence, it is still possible for this to occur. Contamination of food products can harm consumers. Modifications made to the "Clean Production House Model" in Ciora village include a "Processing Room," which helps carry out the production process, and an "Equipment and Raw Material Washing Area" for cleaning cooking utensils and raw materials which require clean water and a suitable place. Away from the bathroom and keep it clean. In this case, the human factor or the element of food handlers is also crucial because humans are the actors in the production house process. The human factor as a workforce must be clean. Changes to the space layout, where a raw material storage area was added next to the dishwasher. This area has facilities such as storage shelves with a minimum height of 15 cm from the floor and 60 cm from the ceiling.

Abstract

Most of the Besar II Terjun Village residents live in agriculture. So far, people still use conventional methods to separate rice by hitting the harvested rice. In this community service activity, a rice threshing machine was designed. The rice thresher machine has power = 5.5 HP with engine type = Air Cooled 4 Stroke OHV Single Cylinder; maximum torque = 1.1 Kg.m / 3600 rpm; and maximum output = 4 KW / 4000 rpm. This machine has a capacity of 300 kg/minute. This community service activity aims to help the Sukapura Village community maximize its potential and provide insight for SMEs regarding effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and safety in carrying out the catfish production process. The methods used include observation methods to determine the needs of SMEs for processed catfish food, design methods, presentation methods, and discussion methods as a form of assistance in starting a catfish product processing business. Sebagian besar penduduk Desa Besar II Terjun mempunyai mata pencaharian di bidang pertanian. Selama ini masyarakat masih menggunakan cara konvensional dalam melakukan pemisahan padi,yaitu dengan memukul padi yang dipanen. Pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan perancangan mesin perontok padi.  Mesin perontok padi yang dirancang memiliki daya = 5,5 HP; dengan tipe mesin = Air Cooled 4 Tak OHV Single Cylinder; torsi maksimum = 1,1 Kg.m / 3600 rpm; dan putput maksimum = 4 KW / 4000 rpm. Mesin ini memiliki kapasitas 300 kg/menit. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat Desa Sukapura dalam memaksimalkan potensi yang ada dan memberikan wawasan bagi pelaku UKM mengenai efektivitas, efisiensi, produktivitas, serta keselamatan dalam melakukan proses produksi olahan lele. Metode yang dilakukan antara lain, metode observasi untuk mengetahui kebutuhan UKM makanan olahan lele, metode perancangan, metode presentasi, dan metode diskusi sebagai bentuk pendampingan dalam merintis usaha olahan produk lele.

Abstract

Stunting or growth disorders in children is a global health problem that has a significant impact on children's physical and cognitive development. Stunting prevention is a top priority in efforts to improve the quality of life and the younger generation's future. This community service aims to provide an understanding of the importance of preventing stunting, the risk factors involved, and strategies that can be implemented to reduce stunting rates among residents in Manis Jaya Village, Tangerang City. The method used to achieve the goals and targets of stunting prevention is through outreach/lectures, including education on the role of families in improving nutrition, promotion of exclusive breastfeeding and nutritious food, and increasing access to essential health services. It is hoped that the results of the activity will prevent stunting from being the responsibility of the government, health organizations, and the entire community. Collaboration between the government, private sector, NGOs, and village communities will be vital in achieving stunting prevention targets. Stunting atau gangguan pertumbuhan pada anak-anak merupakan masalah kesehatan global yang berdampak besar pada perkembangan fisik dan kognitif anak-anak. Pencegaha stunting menjadi prioritas utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan masa depan generasi muda. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujian memberikan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya pencegahan stunting, faktor-faktor risiko yang terlibat serta strategi yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk mengurangi angka stunting pada warga di Kelurahan Manis Jaya Kota Tangerang.  Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan dan target pencegahan stunting adalah dengan penyukuhan/ceramah mecakup edukasi peran keluarga dalam peningkatan gizi, promosi pemberian asi eksklusif dan makanan bergizi serta peningkatan akses ke layanan kesehatan dasar. Hasil dari kegiatan diharapkan pencegehana stunting bukan hanya tanggung jawab pemerinta dan organisasi kesehatan tetapi  juga seluruh masyarakat. Kolaborasi antara pemerinta, sector swasta, LSM dan masyarakat desa akan memainkan peran kunci dalam mencapai target pencegahan stunting.
