Abstract

This study is a pre-experimental research that aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning through the application of reciprocal teaching models in class IX students of SMP Hang Tuah in the academic year of 2017/2018. This study refers to four criteria of learning effectiveness, namely the achievement of classical learning completeness and improvement of learning outcomes grouped into learning outcomes, student activities related to learning activities, as well as students' positive response to learning implementation with reciprocal teaching models. The research design used was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study were students of class IX.A Hang Tuah as many as 31 people as a trial class to apply the reciprocal teaching model. Data collection techniques used were observation techniques for learning achievement, learning outcome tests, observation techniques for student activities, and student response questionnaires. Research results show that (1) learning outcomes are in the medium category with an average score of 82.22 and a standard deviation of 8.64; (2) The average percentage of student activity frequency is 83.24 in the active category; (3) the ability of teachers to manage learning has increased, and is in the category of implementation with a score of 3.20; (4) student response to reciprocal teaching learning is 83.19%; and (5) hypothesis testing p-value 0,000 <0,05 = α, then H1 is accepted.

Abstract

This research is a development research referred to Four-D model. This research aims to develop Interpersonal Intelligence-based of basic statistics learning devices to improve students’ social competence. This type of Four-D model development research consists of four stages: (1) define, (2) design, (3) develop, and (4) disseminate. The learning devices produced are RPS that meet valid criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of problem-based learning models in mathematical tree media on students' mathematics learning outcomes in terms of students’ learning motivation. The study was conducted in SMP Negeri 5 Wonomulyo. The population was class VII consisted 144 students of 7 classes. The sample was 44 students of class VII B (experiment class) and class VII C (control class). The instrument was used a questionnaire for student learning motivation and learning outcomes test. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that descriptively the average value of students 'mathematics learning outcomes in the experimental class with high motivation was greater (86, 67) from the control class (80.5), as well as low motivation showed that the average value of students' mathematics learning outcomes in the larger experimental class (81.5) from the control class (77.8). In inferential, it is found that there is no interaction between problem-based learning models and mathematical tree media with learning motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Students with high motivation, there was no significant effect on the application of problem-based learning models in mathematical tree media on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Unlike the case with students with low motivation, significantly influence the application of problem-based learning models in mathematical tree media on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is a research and development research. The purpose of this study was to develop macromedia flash-based learning media on Space Building material. The process of developing macromedia flash based learning media uses a modified 4-D model from Thiagarajan, which consists of four stages, namely define, design, develop and dessiminate. The desired product in this study is macromedia flash based learning media, learning motivation questionnaire, personality type questionnaire and Mathematics Learning Outcomes Test. The trial was conducted at the Kartika Wirabuana Makassar Vocational School, in class XI students, the results obtained from the trial were macromedia flash based learning media, learning motivation questionnaire, personality type questionnaire and Mathematics Learning Outcomes Test. The results showed that the validity of macromedia flash based mathematics learning media was very valid with a validity value of 0.952 and a reliability coefficient level of 0.976. Validity and learning motivation questionnaire is 1 and reliability coefficient level 1, validity of personality type questionnaire is 1 and reliability coefficient level 1 and learning outcome test is validity is 1 and its reliability level is 1 and macromedia flash based mathematics learning media is very influential on student learning motivation, this is seen from the gain value of 0.39%, and the personality type of students influences student motivation.

Abstract

This study was an expost facto study which aimed to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence on the mathematics learning outcomes of students of Majene 1 State High School 2016-2017 school year consisting of 547 people by taking samples of 27 people who were made as respondents. From the results of questionnaires collected by respondents, the respondent's maximum emotional intelligence score was 35 and the minimum score was 20 with the mean (average) of 28.93 and a standard deviation of 3.327. While the mathematics learning outcomes of students revealed that the maximum score obtained by respondents was 90 and the minimum score was 30 with a mean (average) of 67.93 and a standard deviation of 15.990. From the results of the regression analysis testing obtained the equation Y or X is Y = -20,377 + 3,049x means that mathematics learning outcomes are influenced by emotional intelligence variables which indicate a linear relationship between two variables. While the level of the relationship between the two variables obtained r value of 0.637 and the magnitude of the percentage of the effect of free vaiabel on the dependent variable obtained r2 value of 0.402 which means the effect of variable X on variable Y is 40.2% while the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Learning readiness are categorized as affective learning. This correlational research aims to analyze the correlation of Learning readiness and learning achievement of mathematics education semester VIII students towards microteaching subject at West Sulawesi University. The research manipulates correlational research method with observational analysis and cros sectional approach. The research object is 31 students of mathematics education semester VIII. The technique of data analysis is simple correlational analysis and simple regressive analysis. This research shows that: (1) there is a positive and significant correlation between emotional quotient and learning achievement 0,526, (2) Regression equation is Y = 42,398 + 0,483X2

Abstract

This is a classroom based action research to improve students’ ability in mastering geometry transformation formula through flipped classroom learning model. The study lasted for two cycles and conducted in class XII IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Barru. There were 25 students as participants for this study. The first cycle shows that 52% students have enough skil in mastering geometry transformation formula.Clasically, it can be seen that the average students score is 71,92 which is below the minimal score standard. The second cycle shows a better result that 80% students obtain a very high ability in mastering geometry transformation formula. Clasically, the average score of students in the second cycle is 90,80 which is above the minimal score standard. Based on the result of the students XII IPA 1 final evaluation, it is showing that the students ability to master geometry transformation formula is 90,80%. Besides, 100% of the students obtain score ≥ 75. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that there is an increase of students’ ability in mastering geometry transformation formula through flipped classroom. In addition, the study also obtained that flipped classroom increases students motivation and activeness in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen desain 3x3 faktorial pretest posttest by subject dengan sampel sebanyak 72 siswa, bertujuan untuk mempelajari (i) deskripsi hasil belajar matematika setelah diberi perlakuan kombinasi model pembelajaran kooperatif dan motivasi belajar, (ii) pengaruh linier kovariat self efficacy siswa terhadap hasil belajar matematika, dan (iii) faktor interaksi kombinasi model pembelajaran kooperatif (jigsaw, TAI dan STAD) dan motivasi belajar dengan mengontrol kedua faktor utama secara simultan mempunyai pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan memperhitungkan kovariat self efficacy siswa. Hasil analisis menggunakan Anakova menunjukkan bahwa (i) nilai rata-rata hasil belajar berfluktuasi pada masing-masing sel dalam mendukung hipotesis yang diajukan, (ii) kovariat self efficacy siswa mempunyai pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan kontribusi sebesar 0,310 satuan, dan dengan memperhitungkan kovariat self efficacy siswa, (iii) interaksi kombinasi model pembelajaran kooperatif dan motivasi belajar secara simultan dengan mengontrol kedua faktor utama mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika.

Abstract

The research aims to describe PPs UNM (Postgraduate Program of State University of Makassar) students’ understanding guided by Pirie-Kieren theory in solving proving problem in group theory based on cognitive style (field independent and field dependent) and adversity quotient (climber, camper, and quitter). The conclusion based on the test and interview results are: (1) the levels of understanding achieved by FI-Climber subject are the primitive knowing, image having, property noticing, formalising, and organising; (2) the levels of understanding achieved by FI-Camper subject are the primitive knowing, image having, property noticing, formalising, and organising; (3) it is not discovered the subjects who have field independent cognitive style and low AQ (quitter); (4) the levels of understanding achieved by FD-Climber subject are primitive knowing, image having, formalising, and organising; (5) the levels of understanding achieved by FD-Camper are primitive knowing, image having, and formalising; (6) it is not discovered the subjects who have field dependent cognitive style and low AQ (quitter).

Abstract

The research was experiment research which aimed to discover the effectiveness of the implementation of discovery learning model of contextual approach with concept map in Mathematics learning in Cubes and Blocks Material in class VIII at SMPN 2 Sungguminasa. The populations of the research were all of the students in class VIII at SMPN 2 Sungguminasa and the sample was one class, namely class VIII-2 as the experiment class which was chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The data of the research consisted of the students’ activities in learning, students’ responses, and students’ learning results. The data of the students’ activities were analyzed descriptively and the data of students’ responses and students’ learning results were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The result of the research revealed that: (1) the implementation of discovery learning model of contextual approach with implemented well, (2) the implementation of discovery learning model of contextual approach with concept map was effective based on the aspects: (a) the students’ learning result with the average score of activity implementation 3.89 (very active category); (b) the students’ responses with the average score 3.81 (positive category); (c) the students’ learning results with the average score of post test 87.55 Minimum Completeness Criteria, the average score of gain 0.87, and the pecentage of classical completeness which had been fulfilled was 91,67% 80%. The result of hypothesis test in significant level 0.05 with t-test show that the discovery learning model of contextual approach with concept map is effective to be implemented in mathematics learning in Cubes and Blocks material to students’ of class VIII at SMPN 2 Sungguminasa.
