Abstract

The Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) is a non-profit, community-based educational organization that focuses on meeting the higher education and vocational training needs of young people, veterans of the resistance, and the children of veterans. It is dedicated to providing general education and training that will help the country become more technically and commercially skilled, creating a workforce that can satisfy the needs of the corporate, public, and community sectors in Timor Leste. Its mission is to provide high-quality education and training based on international standards at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and in professional training. To prepare students to obtain good qualifications and professions that are adequate to meet constraints, especially those related to network management skills and security measures. Class lecturers and computer laboratory assistants only know the theory of using computers, but lack advanced skills about networks and security to teach students. To deal with this problem, it is necessary to provide understanding and practice to DIT lecturers and students regarding computer networks and their security. The preparation of activities is carried out directly in a participatory manner so that lecturers and students can understand and implement the use of computer networks and their security. The result is training and understanding of network fundamentals for lecturers to transfer their skills to students, while students can deepen their knowledge in the field of networks and security systems. Practical skills in implementing this security using special devices from Cisco and Mikrotik.

Abstract

MSMEs have been proven to be able to encourage the country's economic progress. The existence of MSMEs cannot be eliminated or avoided from the nation's society today. Its existence is very useful in terms of distribution of community income. The problem that is often experienced by MSME actors is the lack of experience in managing their business. Many of the MSME players only focus on producing goods, but do not think about how to expand their business. The effect is that it is difficult to increase the business and the business that is carried out is running in place. In addition, the difficulty in distributing goods is a factor that causes the distribution of goods to be less widespread. This is because the perpetrators have not been able to do their marketing online and after that the average of these MSMEs experienced a decline in sales and distribution of goods. From the problems faced, an appropriate business development strategy is needed and the important role of the government. The internet technology-based coaching approach is carried out for MSME actors. The development of the internet supports progress in all aspects including business and business transactions using digital marketing and social media that can be used by MSME actors in increasing sales and developing their business. This community service activity is carried out for MSME actors, in Kedung Baruk Village, Surabaya. It is recorded that 17 MSMEs are engaged in food and beverage, handicrafts, grocery stores, printing, and fashion.

Abstract

The village of Konang produces several home-made products that are managed by residents. One of the products produced is a snack, namely krupuk puli. The product is still packaged in a simple way. The product is packaged in a thin clear plastic and tied with raffia rope and without a label. Marketing of this product is also still on a small scale and limited scope. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of UMKM actors in Konang Village regarding packaging, product labeling and product marketing. The method used is 5 stages: (1) Field Survey, (2) Coordination with Village Apparatus and Community, (3) Program Socialization, (4) Program Implementation, (5) Program Evaluation. The result of this service activity is the increase in knowledge and skills of Puli chips business owners in making attractive product labels and packaging, being able to make product innovations and market products with a wider scope.

Abstract

The art of this stamp motif has been known since prehistoric times, and the results can be seen in Leangleang Cave, Kalimantan and Altamira Cave, Australia. The stamp technique is very simple and can take advantage of objects and plants in the environment around us. Based on the survey, there are no products in the form of fashion fabric for the cultivating activities at the Social Service Information Unit (UILS) Meruya. Therefore, this service carries the theme of stamped art on cloth. Stamp is one of the simplest graphic arts or printing techniques, namely the stamp motif on the fabric that is created with the texture of various types of leaves in the surrounding environment. For example, we can take advantage of the texture of the banana midrib bone with a certain composition and pattern. The target to be achieved is to introduce Meruya's Social Service Information Unit (UILS) to people. The application is by applying the motif to the fabric. This can train the cognitive and motor aspects of students. The implementation methods are (1) introducing the technique of making stamps from banana midribs, (2) applying the motif to the fabric, (3) creating unique compositions and patterns of motifs, (4) practicing making motifs with stamp coloring techniques, (4) making creative economy products in the form of fashion products.

Abstract

Community Service based on research results in 2019, the results of the applied research are the basic techniques of creating an illustrated digital image into animation with the characteristics of a flat-space-time image and the basic stopmotion video editing techniques applied using a smartphone. The stopmotion technique is a basis that can be utilized optimally, the Covid-19 pandemic situation which limits the use of school computer laboratory facilities is a learning obstacle for students who do not have personal computers. The practical use of smartphones is able to produce good stopmotion video animation works, so the training focuses on SMK Multimedia teachers. The goal is that teachers can optimize smartphones to create stopmotion video animations as a way of learning for their students. The action review method is used so that the implementation of effective and solution training uses eight steps, namely problem identification, problem formulation, alternative identification, alternative determination, planning, program implementation, monitoring, evaluation and action review. The target audience is SMK Karya Budi's Multimedia Department, Cilenuyi District, Bandung Regency, totaling 11 people consisting of 5 expertise teachers and 6 adaptive normative teachers. The training is conducted offline and online. The results of the evaluation show that the teacher needs the help of video tutorials to repeat the training more, but overall the teacher is able to create animation from illustration images of the features of flat-space-time images and stop motion video editing using applications on smartphones.

Abstract

One of the sectors affected by the covid-19 pandemic is the education sector. SMKN 1 Peureulak Timur as the only vocational high school in Peureulak Timur sub-district, East Aceh must continue to provide education services for all students of the best quality. One of the efforts to improve educating and teaching skills for teachers at SMKN 1 Peureulak Timur is by providing e-learning training. One of the e-learning media that is often used is Goggle Classroom because of its complete features and quite easy to operate. Therefore, the activity that will be carried out at this community dedication is Google Classroom training. It is hoped that after receiving this Google Classroom training, teachers of SMKN 1 Peureulak Timur can improve their performance in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Sustainable forest utilization is one of the objectives of forest management activities. The participation of the community and parties in managing forests is optimal, especially in the Ghimbo Pomuan customary forest, which is very much needed in collecting data on customary forest resources. The survey activity is the collection of information about forest resources that requires the ability to navigate using GPS for customary forest communities as forest managers. Also, being able to operate mapping applications such as ArcGIS is very necessary in order to be able to know the potential of the area in a comprehensive manner. The activity method given to partners is delivering material, discussion, demonstration, and evaluation. Submission of materials on navigation in the forestry sector, use of GPS and mapping. After the material was delivered, it was followed by demonstrations on the use of GPS and mapping training. In this community service activity, mentoring and evaluation activities are also carried out to measure the level of knowledge and skills of partners before and after community service activities are carried out. Based on the results of community service activities that have been carried out, there has been an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the surrounding community about how to use GPS and ArcGIS for managers of the Ghimbo Pomuan Customary Forest area, from 43.33% ignorant and 36.11% ignorant to 93.34% knowledgeable and 6.66% know.

Abstract

Jirak Village is one of the villages located in Sajad District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Jirak Village has a variety of agricultural and plantation products, including rice. Rice in Jirak Village is usually harvested every 2 times a year, so the amount of rice is abundant and easy to find. The rice commodity in Jirak Village has the potential as a raw material for superior products made from processed food in the form of rice chips which have high selling value. The purpose of this training is to improve and develop rice chips as a superior product of Jirak Village. The approach used in this activity includes a model of material exposure, discussion, practice and evaluation. This activity took place in March 2022. The number of participants who joined in this training was 11 people, of which 11 people were a group of PKK women who were members of Jirak Village. Based on this training activity, it was found that 36% of PKK mothers agreed and 64% strongly agreed to develop rice chips packaging with more practical sizes so as to make rice chips products as souvenirs typical of Jirak Village. This training also motivates the people in Jirak Village. The success of this training and mentoring can be illustrated by the results of the distribution analysis which shows the percentage of PKK mothers who agree with this activity. Other conditions also illustrate that this activity is fully supported by the village head, namely by lending the existing facilities and infrastructure in the village. It is hoped that in this training the community can develop rice chips into other new types of chips so that they are better known by the wider community and also have easily recognizable characteristics, especially from Jirak Village.

Abstract

Current formal education does not only focus on developing scientific and theoretical knowledge, but also pays attention to thought processes and behavior. Extracurricular activities are a means that can be optimized to improve thinking skills or behavior. Of the various kinds of extracurricular activities that exist, robotics is one of the new extracurricular activities, but is very much liked by students. Limited human resources who understand robotics and school support is one of the challenges in introducing robotics technology, especially for elementary school (SD) students. The solution to addressing this problem is that in this community service activity socialization and workshops on assembling robots for elementary school students are carried out. There are three main stages carried out in service activities: initial preparation, implementation, evaluation and reporting. Activities during the implementation of activities, begins with the introduction of robot components to be assembled. Participants in the activity totaling 37 students were divided into 6 groups. Each group was guided to follow the steps of assembling the robot, which consisted of: assembling several robot components and tightening the screws using a screwdriver, uploading the previously made computer program to the chip installed on the robot, activating the robot and controlling it via a smartphone. Partners filled out the questionnaire after the main activities were carried out. Partner responses to 6 statements related to the implementation of community service activities, on average giving a value in the category S = Agree, this means that partners agree and support this community service activity.

Abstract

Currently learning is done online. So that the quality of the teaching and learning process does not decrease, teachers must innovate in learning by utilizing information and communication technology. This study aims to create an augmented reality-based application with the theme of traditional Indonesian musical instruments that can be used as learning media on theme 1, sub-theme 1, learning 1, in grade 4 elementary school. The method used in this research is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle and the Literature Study method. The result of this research is an augmented reality-based interactive learning application that can be used on the android platform, along with a boardgame which is an additional component of the application. The application is distributed to a non-governmental organization called Rumah Pelangi Indonesia, and the 090 Cibiru State Elementary School which will later be used as learning media for students there.
