Abstract

This study aims to figure out the effectiveness in enriching students’ vocabulary mastery by implementing comic translation teaching technique. The method of the research is mixed method design with the type of true-experimental pre-test post-test control group design for the quantitative data and close-ended questionnaire for the qualitative data. The population of this study were the students of eight grade in one of the junior high schools in Tasikmalaya. the sample 30 students as the experimental group and 30 students as the control group. The two research instruments used were test and questionnaire. The vocabulary test in the form of finding the difficult word and making it a sentence was used to get the data of students’ level of vocabulary mastery, while questionnaire was used to know students’ perception toward the technique. Based on the data analysis, it is found that comic translation could improve students’ vocabulary mastery. This technique met the criteria of success since average of students’ score got 80 and students showed positive perception toward this technique. The preliminary study indicated that students’ problem in learning vocabulary was the limited vocabulary knowledge, thus, they performed low in language tasks. Comics were used as media in teaching vocabulary since it is an authentic material that contains rich vocabulary exposure for the students. It is suggested for the teacher to implement comic translation as an extensive vocabulary exposure activity during lesson.

This study was case study design and qualitative method. The subject of this study was one novice and senior lecturer at IAIN Bengkulu. It used Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System (FIACS) to analyze teacher’s talk. The researcher used observation and interview for collecting the data. The result both of novice and senior lecturer showed that the characteristics of teacher is content cross and the most frequent is indirect talk. The percentage of teacher characteristics of novice lecturer was 45% while the percentage of teacher characteristics of senior lecturer was 39%. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for the development of learning module using the Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) model assisted by Augmented Reality on rotational dynamics and rigid body equilibrium. This type of research is a survey research and literature study which later can be the basis for further development research. The research instrument used was a needs analysis questionnaire with 20 questions given to 72 respondents who were students and 3 respondents who were teachers of class XI MIPA from SMA Negeri 5 Bengkulu City, SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City and SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu City. In this research the data analysis uses descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the data obtained it can be concluded that currently students are in dire need of computer-based learning media, one of which is by using Augmented Reality. This is based on data obtained that 76,26 % of students answered Strongly Agree and 77,92 % of teachers answered Strongly Agree to the need for the development of the development of learning module using the Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) model assisted by Augmented Reality on rotational dynamics and rigid body equilibrium.  We know that the development of digital technology in the current Industrial 4.0 era has brought changes and influenced various aspects of human life, including in the field of education. Augmented Reality are technologies that can be developed to provide alternative instructional media provided previously and to see the effectiveness of these media if used in learning activities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon that all parents want their children's education to be good, so they pay attention and optimize for their children's education. The existence of this need, humans are encouraged to fulfill it. This encouragement is called motivation. In this case, of course the role of motivation is very important. The objectives of this study are (1) to determine whether there is an effect of learning motivation on student learning achievement at SMPN 1 Bengkulu city. (2) To determine how much significance the effect of student learning motivation on student learning achievement in SMPN 1 Bengkulu city. This study uses a quantitative approach with regression type. The population is SMMPN 1 Bengkulu city which totals 854 students. The sample was 90 students, the method of data research with questionnaires and documentation. All instruments have met the measurement requirements, because they have been tested so that they have met the validity test requirements using product correlation and reliability using Cronbach alpha, and have passed the prerequisite test. Data analysis using the T test and the percentage of influence using the coefficient of determination adjuster Rsquare. The results showed that (1) there is a significant effect of learning motivation on learning achievement as evidenced by the value of Rhitung> Rtabel, namely 0.611> 0.361 and Sig <0.05, namely 0.000 <0.05. (2) The effect of the coefficient of determination Adjusted R square 0.020 on the summary model in the regression test, so that the effect of learning motivation (X), on learning achievement (Y) is 2%.
