Animal Agricultura is an open access journal. It publishes original research articles, reviews, and communications that offer substantial new insight into any field of study that involves livestock and agriculture . Scientifically excellent papers that consider ruminants in the context of genetic or environmental conservation, rural development, or that have significant implications for animal welfare will be particularly welcome, and an interdisciplinary approach is encouraged. Experimental and genomic studies must explain what hypotheses are being tested, and whether new hypotheses are required. Submissions with a strong husbandry, nutritional, meat or dairy science, or genetic focus must make the wider interest of the work very clear. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental details and/or method of study, must be provided for research articles. Articles submitted that involve subjecting animals to unnecessary pain or suffering will not be accepted, and all articles must be submitted with the necessary ethical approval (please refer to the Ethical Guidelines for more information). Our scope is reseach about animal husbandry, such as nutrition, production, reproduction, livestock maanjemen and business, and agricultural sciences such as agronomy, soil science, pests, agricultural engineering, industrial technology, food technology, fisheries, forestry, and agricultural socio-economics. Manuscripts are open to lecturers and researchers related to animal husbandry and agriculture.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of supplementation of katuk leaf flour (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) and turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) and their combination in rations on the consumption and digestibility of BK and BO of start-phase landrace pigs. The material used was 12 landrace breed pigs aged 1-2 months with an initial body weight range of 6-14 kg with an average of 10.25k kg Coefficient of Variance (CV = 20%). The experimental research method used a randomized group design with 4 treatments and 3 repeats. The treatment tried was R0: basal ration without supplemented katuk leaf flour and turmeric flour, R1: basal ration supplemented 4% katuk leaf flour, R2: basal ration supplemented 1% turmeric flour, R3: basal ration supplemented 4% katuk leaf flour + 1% turmeric flour. The variables studied are consumption, digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. The data obtained were analyzed using variety analysis. The results of this study showed that dry matter consumption (g/h/d) R0: 1097.77; R1: 1212,72; R2: 1124.41; R3: 1246.14, organic matter consumption (g/h/d) R0: 935.51; R1: 1032.39; R2: 956.19; R3: 1071.48, dry matter digestibility (%)R0: 60,88; R1: 64,76; R2: 62,79; R3: 66,and digestibility of organic matter (%) R0: 61,49; R1: 65,44; R2: 63,73; R3: 67,33. The results of the variety analysis showed that the treatment had no real effect (P>0.05) on the consumption and digestibility of BK and BO. It was concluded that supplementation of 4% katuk leaf meal and 1% turmeric flour and their combination in the basal ration provided the same consumption and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter as the basal ration without supplementation of katuk leaf meal and turmeric flour and their combination in start-phase landrace pigs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of complete feed based on a mixture of sorghum and Gamal leaf silage at different levels addition on consumption, digestibility of crude protein, and crude fiber of local female goats. In this study, 4 female local goats aged 6-8 months were used with a weight range of 11-15 kg with an average of 12.88 kg and a coefficient of variation of 6.74%. The method used is experimental with 4 treatments and 4 periods as repetition. The treatment in this study was P0 = complete feed (80% Sorghum silage + 20% concentrate), P1 = complete feed (70% Sorghum silage + 30% concentrate), P2 = complete feed (60% Sorghum silage + 40% concentrate) and P3 = complete feed (50% Sorghum silage + 50% concentrate). The parameters studied were crude protein and fiber consumption and digestibility. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results showed that PK consumption was P0 91.05 g/h/d, P1 97.84 g/h/d, P2 85.52 g/h/d, P3 81.73 g/h/d; digestibility of PK P0 67.28%, P1 71.83%, P2 69.31%, P3 65.61%; SK consumption P0 112.90 g/h/d, P1 118.47 g/h/d, P2 101.30 g/h/d, P3 94.97 g/h/d and SK digestibility P0 54 .60 %, P1 58.40 %; P2 52.96 %, P3 48.20 %. The analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the consumption and digestibility of PK and SK female local goats. This study concluded that the provision of complete feed based on silage mixed with sorghum and Gamal leaves at different levels added had the same effect on the consumption and digestibility of PK and SK of female local goats.

Abstract

The purpose of the experiment was to determine the effect of complete silage-based feeding of a mixture of sorghum and gamal leaves with concentrates at different levels on crude protein, total digestibility of nutrients and digestible energy in local female goats. This experiment used 4 female local goats aged 6-8 months in the range of body weight of 11-15 kg with an average of 12.88 kg and a coefficient variation of 6.74%. The experimental method, the experimental method uses Latin Square Design (LSD) with 4 treatments and 4 periods as a repeat consisting of P0 = 80% silage + 20% concentrate, P1 = 70% silage + 30% concentrate, P2= 60% silage + 40% concentrate, P3= 50% silage + 50% concentrate. Mean crude protein (g/e/h) P0: 56.15; P1: 60.93; P2: 50.71; P3: 43.64; total nutrient digestibility (%) P0: 56.87; P1: 65.64, P2: 64.03; P3: 48.22; and digestible energy (kcal/e/h) P0: 1396.35; P1: 1521.31; P2:1231.45; P3:1063.87. The results of the variety analysis showed that the treatment had no real effect (P>0.05) on digested crude protein, TDN and digestible energy. It was concluded that the feeding of complete silage-based mixed sorghum and gamal leaves with concentrate at a ratio of 80:20 gave the same results with a higher ratio of concentrate in local female goats to digested crude protein, digested energy and TDN.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to detemine the effect of biofermentation time (Chromolaena odotara) with putak flour carbon source on energy content. The method used in this research is a complete randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments applied were: LBf21: 21 days biofermentation time (as control), LBf14: biofermentation time, LBf7: fermentation time an/d LBf0 biofermentation time. The variable studied was the energy content (CHO, BETN, GE, ME, TDN) of white flower bush silage with carbon source of putak flour. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results of statistical analysis showed that the addition of putak flour as a carbon source had no significant effect (P>0.05) on energy content with different lengths of biofermentation time. It was concluded that the length of Chromolaena odorata biofermentation with putak flour carbon source did not affect the energy content.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of adding eco-enzymes to drinking water on the production performance of IPB-D1 native chickens. The research was carried out for 9 weeks in Noelbaki Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency. This research used 72 IPB-D1 village chickens. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments tried were differentiated based on the level of use of eco-enzyme in drinking water, namely: P1 = feed + drinking water without eco-enzyme (control), P2 = feed + eco-enzyme 1 cc/liter of water, P3 = feed +eco-enzyme 2 cc/liter of water, P4 =feed+ eco-enzyme 3 cc/liter of water. The variables measured were the body weight of the chicken at the start of laying eggs, the weight of the eggs at the start of laying eggs and the age of the chicken at the start of laying eggs. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the body weight of the chicken at the start of laying eggs, the weight of the eggs at the start of laying eggs and the age at which chickens started laying eggs. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the addition of eco-enzyme to drinking water has the same effect on the body weight of chickens at the start of laying eggs, the weight of eggs at the start of laying eggs and the age at which chickens start laying eggs in IPB-D1 chickens.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine using Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) organik mulch thickness on growth Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato. The material used in the form of organic mulch for Chromolaena odorata, grass pols, Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications, a total of 16 experimental units. These treatments are: M0: without mulch, M1 thickness : 1 cm, M2 thickness: 3 cm, M3 thickness: 5 cm. The  variables studied were plant height, number of tillers, and number of leaves. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's advanced test. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on plant height, number of tillers, and number of grass leaves Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato. Duncan's test results showed that between treatments M0:M1, M0:M2, M0:M3 significant different (P<0.05) and between treatments M1; M2; M3 not significant different (P>0.05) on plant height, number of tillers and number of leaves Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato. The conclusion is that the application of organic mulch Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) affects the growth performance of Mulato grass plants (Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato) the best performance was obtained in M2 namely plant height (34.79cm), number of tillers (22.88 tillers) and number of leaves (100.15) strands.

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of providing complete feed silage based on shorgum-Clitoria ternatea with the addition of different levels of concentrate containing ZnSO4 and ZnCu Isoleucinate at on the Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN), Digestible Energy (DE), and Net Energy (NE) and determine the optimum concentrate level in complete feed silage. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 and 3 treatments. The treatments were T0=sorghum-Clitoria ternatea mixed silage, T1=sorghum-Clitoria ternatea silage containing 10% concentrate, T2=sorghum-Clitoria ternatea silage containing contains 20% concentrate, T3= sorghum-Clitoria ternatea silage containing 30% concentrate. Results showed that treatments had a significant effect (P<0,01) on TDN, DE and NE in Kacang goats. It can be concluded that feeding complete feed silage based on sorghum-Clitoria ternatea with the addition of concentrate shows linearly inceases the TDN, DE and NE content in Kacang goats.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the level of use of rice straw as an absorbent on the nutritional content of a mixture of kume grass (Sorghum Plumosum Var. Timorense) and (Mucuna bracteata) silage. The research method is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) pattern consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consists of 0% rice straw + 100% kume grass + Mucuna bracteata (AJP0), 5% rice straw + 95% kume grass + Mucuna brakteata (AJP5), 10% rice straw + 90% kume grass + Mucuna bracteata (AJP10), 15% rice straw + 85% kume grass + Mucuna bracteata (AJP15), 20% rice straw + 80% kume grass + Mucuna bracteata (AJP20). The variables measured are dry matter (DW), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF) and crude fat (CF). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with a multiple dunca distance test with the help of SPSS version 25 data processing software. The results of the analysis showed that the addition of rice straw as absorbance affected (P<0.01) and increased BK from 12.15 % to 32.37%, SK 28.42% to 35.75%. And reduced OM from 88.57% to 80.60%, CP from 15.37% to 8.22%, CF from 7.30%-5.05%. Total DW increased linearly from 12.15% (AJP0) to 32.27% (AJP20), likewise OM decreased linearly from 88.32% to 80.60% (AJP20). Likewise, CP experienced a linear decrease from 15.37% (AJP0) to 8.22% (AJP20), likewise CF experienced a linear increase from 28.42% (AJP0) to 35.75% (AJP20), as well as CF content decreased linearly from 7.30% (AJP0) to 5.05% (AJP20). Conclusion along with the use of rice straw as an absorbent in the fermentation of a mixture of fresh grass and Mucuna bracteata can increase DM, OM and CF. reducing CP and CF in silage.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of using chicory waste silage (Brassica pekinensis L) in rations on energy and protein consumption and digestibility in grower pigs. The livestock used were 12 grower phase landrace crossbreed pigs aged 3-4 months with initial body weights ranging from 29-52 kg and an average of 36 kg (CV = 17.72%). This research used an experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of four treatments and three replications so that there were 12 experimental units. The treatments used were R0: 100% basal ration, R1: 90% basal ration + 10% chicory waste silage, R2: 85% basal ration + 15% chicory waste silage and R3: 80% basal ration + 20% chicory waste silage. The variables studied were ration consumption, energy consumption, protein consumption, energy digestibility and protein digestibility. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on all variables. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the use of chicory waste silage (Brassica pekinensis L) in rations at levels of 10%, 15% and 20% has the same effect on energy and protein consumption and digestibility

Abstract

Borax is a chemical substance that is not included as a food additive but is used several times in making meatballs. This study aims, 1) to compare the results of meatballs detected using borax rapid test kit, organoleptic test, and confirmation test, borax pH test, 2) to determine the use of borax in meatball traders scattered in Kupang city. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Product Technology of Undana Animal Husbandry. The research method used is a survey method. The observed variables were borax detection with borax rapid test kit, organoleptic test, confirmation test, and pH test. The results showed the results of laboratory tests on 25 samples of meatballs taken from traders in Kupang city using the borax rapid test kit, there were 5 samples of meatballs detected borax from the results of the borax rapid test kit test, the results of the organoleptic test showed that color, aroma, texture, there was no difference between meatballs detected borax while there was a difference in taste (P>0.05), the affirmation test showed that there was no difference between detected and undetected meatballs, and the pH test showed that there was no difference between those detected borax and those not detected borax. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the laboratory test results of 25 meatball samples taken from traders.
