International Journal of Language and Ubiquitous Learning (IJLUL) is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to issues related to foreign and second language teaching/learning and how Ubiquitous Learning can be used to enhance language teaching and learning. Its primary goal is to disseminate scholarly information on issues related to language teaching research. Particular Attention is paid to problems associated with foreign and second language instruction. IJLUL publishes articles and book reviews in English. Articles which have a sound theoretical base with a visible practical application which can be generalised will be prioritised. There will be 4 issues per year of IJLUL a year, appearing in the months of Macrh, June, September, and December. Published in both hardcopy and softcopy, IJLUL utilises Open Journal System (OJS) to allow it to reach a wider audience from different parts of the globe. The journal publishes state-of-art papers in fundamental theory, experiments, and simulation, as well as applications, with a systematic proposed method, sufficient review on previous works, expanded discussion, and concise conclusion. As our commitment to the advancement of science and technology, the IJLUL follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Submitted papers must be written in English for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two international reviewers.

Abstract

Background. The subject of natural science at the level of elementary school education grade 3 semester 1 is to learn about living things. Purpose. The purpose of this article is to find out what methods or media are suitable for students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Then the technology that can be utilized in the learning process so that educators and students can still meet virtually during the learning process Method. The technique used in this investigation is an approximation technique by surveying the school before the online teaching process is carried out with the aim of seeing what kind of methods and media are used by educators at the elementary school. Results. In the first part, it can be recapitulated that 90% of learners cannot understand the learning provided through WhatSapp Group. In the second part, it can be recapitulated that 96% of students can understand the learning well, the learning process takes place through the Zoom Meeting application by displaying learning media in the form of videos created and edited using the KineMaster application. 4% of the learners experienced problems during the learning process. They are constrained by the network and do not have a HandPhone so that the video displayed during learning in the Zoom Meeting is sent back to the WhatSapp Group of class 3. Conclusion. Kine master app can be used during online learning with the help of zoom app or other learning video apps.

Abstract

Background. Optimizing video-based online media during the covid-19 pandemic for distance learning for students in understanding learning materials to produce optimal value and strong understanding. Purpose. Based on the background and conditions at this time which are still in a pandemic that the learning process is still semi-online, it is hoped that a learning media that is appropriate and effective for sharing student knowledge. error one media that can be used is a learning video. Method. In this study the authors used a type of qualitative research . type of research uses qualitative research with interview methods. This interview method consists of various groups including irregular, non-standard, casual, or focused interviews ranging from ordinary to specialized questions. Semi-structured Interviews. The interview will begin with easy questions about the subject or research we are doing to the interviewees we will ask. Structured or standardized interviews Results. The result of this research is that the effectiveness of using learning video media in elementary school 02 tanjung bonai, north lintau buo sub-district, flat land district is very effective due to an increase in the quality and quality of education in the school. Conclusion. Abstract

Background. This discussion is about the use of canva software as a thematic learning video for Class V Semester I Theme two Subtheme 1 Learning three at State Elementary School 05 IX Koto, Dharmasraya Regency Purpose. Is the purpose of this study, namely to explore how the utilization of canva software in making learning videos for teachers and the impact of thematic learning videos on Class V Semester 1 Theme 2 Subtheme 1 Learning 3 students at State Elementary School 05 IX Koto. Method. The research uses participatory observation techniques and in-depth interviews that are spiked using data collection using describing the features of the canva software Results. that the utilization of the canva application as a thematic learning video for Class V Semester 1 Theme 2 Subtheme 1 Learning 3 at negri 05 IX Koto basement school, Dharmasraya Regency, can be said to be successful. Conclusion. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the canva application-based learning video is very feasible to use in learning. The use of learning videos is very interesting for students so that students are motivated to carry out learning. In the covid-19 pandemic, online learning emphasizes the development of online-based learning media such as the use of the canva application in making learning media in the form of learning videos can provide new meaning and color for students in the learning process in thematic learning Class V Semester 1 Theme 2 Subtheme 1 Learning 3 at negri 05 IX Koto basic shool, Dharmasraya Regency which is effective, creative and innovative.

Abstract

Background. The downside of distance learning activities is that students lack enthusiasm, which results in disappointment in learning outcomes. The problem is due to the lack of tools and opportunities that are not maximized by educators during learning activities. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to optimize the performance of VN applications to motivate and improve student comprehension skills in learning natural science at the elementary school level. Method. The method used in this research includes direct field research which is a research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Descriptive which describes the condition of students in classroom learning activities and makes the VN application and students as the object of research. This approach provides a real explanation of how much influence the utilization of the VN application to describe the learning material obtained in accordance with the learning design of the teacher. Results: Based on the results of my research, the utilization of video-based learning media using the VN editor application has a positive impact on the learning process at the elementary school level. Conclusion. based on the discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the use of the VN application is very useful in the learning process of students at the elementary school level. Especially in this study on social science subjects.

Abstract

Background. This discussion is about the use of canva software as a thematic learning video for Class V Semester I Theme two Subtheme 1 Learning three at State Elementary School 05 IX Koto, Dharmasraya Regency Purpose The purpose of this research is to find out the development of students' needs for learning media in the form of animated videos using the Canva application in learning Social Studies (IPS). Method. The analysis carried out is to find out the use of media at the time of the teaching and learning process in Social Studies lessons online or virtually. The instrument used in this study uses a questionnaire or questionnaire with quantitative data types and is a closed questionnaire. This questionnaire is distributed via google form in the form of a link that students must fill out virtually. Results. The results of this analysis show that from 10 educators and 163 students in class IV (four) in nine elementary schools (SD) in Jakarta and Wonogiri prove that 90% of teachers state that they need and agree to use animated video media based on canva applications that are interesting, 90% of educators say they need and agree to use animated video media based on canva applications that are good and 83.4% of students say they need to use canva application video media in learning social studies (Social Studies). Conclusion. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there should be a development of animated video media based on the canva application in social studies learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find out what methods or media are suitable for students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Then the technology that can be utilized in the learning process so that educators and students can still meet virtually during the learning process. Method. The technique used in this investigation is an approximation technique by conducting a survey of the school before the online teaching process is carried out with the aim of seeing what kind of methods and media are used by educators at the elementary school. Then pay attention to the reaction of students at the first meeting of learning in this investigation. After that, analyze and find solutions so that learning runs effectively without discomfort and disinterest of students in the learning process. Results. In the first part, it can be recapitulated that 90% of learners cannot understand the learning provided through WhatSapp Group. In the second part, it can be recapitulated that 96% of students can understand the learning well, the learning process takes place through the Zoom Meeting application by displaying learning media in the form of videos created and edited using the KineMaster application. 4% of the learners experienced problems during the learning process. Conclusion. This investigation is detailed into 2 parts, in the first part, the application and the way of learning that is applied are not effective, in the second part all obstacles are corrected so that it can be concluded that the learning media created through the KineMaster application in the form of videos and shared through the Zoom Meeting application really causes a positive reaction to students.

Abstract

Background. Accelerating the mastery of a second language is a challenge for the majority of students and academics. Interactive applications for learning foreign languages that look attractive, the material is appropriate, easy aka practical, muted and accelerative are certainly very much needed and sought after. I have distributed and researched this Arabee application made in Turkish during arabic learning at the Ulul Albab campus of Universitas Islam Negeri Malang. Purpose. This study aims to introduce and see the response to the Arabee Arabic language learning application. Method. The data collection method used by researchers is dominated by questionnaires. This research was structured with qualitative methods. The research sample was taken from various students of Islamic Universities and Arabic language activists in the country. Results. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the arabee application (alifbee now) is so captivating. The systematic learning topics raised in this application are appropriate and closely related to current trends. The use of this application is easy to operate. It is hoped that this application can appear in the future in the Indonesian-Arabic version. Conclusion. The appearance of the arabee or alifbee application has captured many hearts, especially campus academics at the university / institute level in Indonesia. The systematic learning topics raised in this application, judging from the respondents' input, have a good level of suitability and relevance and or are very related to current trends and life.

Abstract

Background. This research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of Arabic language learning program management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Focusing on the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring, the research aims to improve the quality of Arabic language learning and ensure conformity with the vision and mission of the madrasah. Purpose. The study aims to evaluate and improve the management of Arabic language learning program at Madrasa Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The focus is on optimizing the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of the program to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the vision and mission of Arabic language education in the madrasah.. Method. This descriptive qualitative research aims to find out the management of the Arabic language program at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Data collection uses interviews with the principal, observation, and documentation about the management of Arabic language programs at madrasah tsanawiyah  Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Results. Madrasah Tsanawiyah  Fadhilah uses the functions of program management studies in implementing the Arabic language learning program for all students so that this program runs effectively and efficiently, namely: 1) Planning the Arabic language learning program in preschool children through the needs identification stage. 2) Organizing in this school is the coach as the head of the foundation who holds the highest power. 3) The implementation of the Arabic language learning program in preschool children is by preparing teachers, making learning process plans (RPP). Conclusion. The success of the Arabic language learning program at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru hinges on effective management functions. Consistency with the foundation's vision and mission is maintained through thorough planning, well-organized implementation, and direct supervision, highlighting the critical role of management in program success.

Abstract

Background. This study examined how positive teachers' behavior impacted young learners' engagement in elementary school. It focused on two main aspects: how well young learners followed instructions and how teachers delivered clear instructions during classroom activities. Purpose. The central question was whether observing positive teachers’ behaviors during instruction could boost young learners' participation.Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzed the structure of positive instructions, including direct commands, questions, statements, and clarification requests through observation and recording. This research involved 8 teachers from an International Elementary School in North Sumatra and 24 young learners. Method. To ensure the reliability of the findings, this research used content validity and inter-rater reliability. The results provided a specific measure for evaluating elementary teachers' instructional practices through observation. It highlighted their abilities to manage classroom transitions and provide clear guidance to young learners during activities that can positively impact their academic motivation. Results. This research conclude the constructive instruction of teachers in lesson teaching  by combining social, communication, and emotional regulation skills through by calculating young learners' participation scores.

Abstract

Background. This research explores the background of the importance of learning Arabic, a Semitic language with over 280 million speakers as a first language. Influenced by aspects of religiosity and internationality, Arabic has a significant role in culture, Islamic religion and international relations. Purpose. This research aims to understand the role and urgency of Arabic in a global context, covering religious, cultural and diplomatic aspects. It aims to analyze the development of the Arabic language from historical aspects to contemporary developments, as well as identify its impact as an international language involving non-Muslims. This research also intends to explore a deeper understanding of the importance of learning Arabic outside the religious context, focusing on its functional diversity and use in the modern world. Method. The research method involves literature analysis, Arabic language learning needs survey, and implementation case studies in educational institutions to understand the urgency and function of Arabic language learning. Results. The importance of learning Arabic for Muslims is reflected in three main aspects: the understanding of Islamic teachings, the unification of Muslims, and human civilization. Arabic is the main source of knowledge, especially in understanding Islamic religious sources. Moreover, it plays a key role in uniting the global Muslim community, facilitating communication and enhancing unity. Conclusion. There are many benefits that will be gained if Muslims learn Arabic. Among them, first, fahmul Islam (understanding Islamic teachings). By mastering Arabic, of course it will be very easy for us to understand most of Islamic teachings.
