Abstract

Mesin roasting kopi merupakan sebuah mesin yang digunakan untuk menyangrai biji kopi agar matang. Prinsip kerja mesin ini adalah biji kopi dipanaskan dalam ruang sangrai yang berputar dengan suhu yang telah ditentukan, sehingga pemanasan bisa merata. Proses mesin roasting biji kopi dapat dilakukan pengaturan temperature, yang mana elemen pemanas alat menggunakan komponen Band Heater. Band Heater berbentuk seperti tabung dengan fungsi sebagai pemanas untuk memanaskan silinder dengan ukuran tertentu yang mempunyai kelebihan antara lain adalah suhu operasi tinggi, pemanasan cepat, efisiensi panas tinggi, ramah lingkungan, bahkan dan pemanasan akurat, dapat mengatur sistem kontrol otomatis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat rancang bangun mesin roasting kopi yang terkendali menggunakan sistem pemanas elektrik tipe band heater dengan kapasitas 5 kg serta mengetahui pengontrolan temperature PID Rex-C100 pada mesin roasting kopi berkapasitas 5 kg. Penelitian ini menunjukkan kenaikan temperature tiap 10 menit selama proses roasting, grafik selisih temperature tiap 10 menit selama proses roasting, data hasil pengukuran suhu sistem pemanas, grafik hubungan antara temperature band heater terhadap aliran panas, perbandingan temperature band heater dengan ruang roasting, dan grafik daya yang dibutuhkan band heater.

Cotton chopping machine Type Bor Waste Opener is one of the equipment used for production activities at PT Lotus Indah Textile Industries Cotton chopping machine Type The Bor Waste Opener must work properly and in a ready-to-use condition so that production activities are not hampered, so planned maintenance is needed. Abstract

Peningkatan kadar karbon-dioksida (CO) di atmosfer di negara yang memiliki penduduk sangat banyak, mendorong minat baru dalam mengembangkan penelitian dan teknik untuk mengurangi pemanasan global . Melimpahnya sutra jagung merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dan perlu dipertimbangkan dalam hal pemanfaatannya. Beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan terkait kegunaan rambut jagung yaitu sebagai bahan pembuatan bakso rendah lemak, anti obesitas, antidiabetes yang didapat dari polisakarida sutra jagung. Namun, potensi sutra jagung sebagai bahan baku bahan bakar belum dilakukan penelitian. Karena itu, penting untuk melakukan penelitian dalam memahami potensi sutra jagung sebagai sumber energi baru dan terbarukan yang diharapkan menjadi cadangan energi jangka panjang. Analisa termogravimetri tentang karakteristik dan kinetika dalam rentang suhu normal ruang 900 oC dibawah atmosfer nitrogen pada laju pemanasan 40 oC/menit. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa proses pirolisis sutra jagung terbagi menjadi 3 tahap yang terkait dengan proses berkurangnya kadar air pada suhu 65-130 °C, dilanjutkan dengan tahap devolatilisasi pada rentang suhu 216-506 oC dan yang paling akhir yaitu dekomposisi yang relative lambat hingga 900 oC. Energi aktivasi (Ea) pada tahap pirolisis aktif dihitung dengan menggunakan model fitting model isoconvensional menggunakan model Vyazovkin. Energi aktivasi hasil dari perhitungan model Vyazovkin masing-masing pada kisaran sebesar 215.522kJ/mol.

Abstract

Coffee processing roasting process technology is still limited, with processing usingtraditional roasting methods. This takes a long time and the temperature cannot be regulated asrequired. Therefore, roasting machine innovation is required to create a 5 kg capacity automaticcoffee roasting machine. The innovative roasting machine was designed with the quality of theengine frame in mind.The study prepared in this report aims to complete the steps of the processof designing, calculating and testing the framework of a 5 kg capacity coffee roaster. The design,calculation and analysis of the frame system examines the calculation of the material, calculationof the load, balance of labor, stress analysis, displacement, safety of the factors on the heatingchamber frame, the top cover frame, the stepping motor frame, the calculation of welded joints.Based on the results and discussion, the frame material uses ASTM A36 steel with a square hollowstock profile measuring (30 × 30 × 1.2) mm. Welding is done by welding the butt joint, T joint andcorner joint. The permissible stress value of the material is 176.72 N/mm2. The load on the heatingchamber is 3,920 N/mm2, on the upper frame cover 1,263 N/mm2 and on the stepper motor 4,947N/mm2. The stress value for the frame is 47N/mm2 (Mpa), the displacement value is 0.41mm, thesafety factor value is 8.Keywords: : Roast, Frame, Material, Test, Safety of Factor

Abstract

Untuk Meningkatkan produksi kain tenun dan efisiensi produksi kain tenun, alternatif yang dapat mewujudkan peningkatan itu yaitu dengan membuat Rancang Bangun Mesin Pewarna Benang Tenun. Metode perancangan Mesin Pewarna Benang Tenun Ikat Menggunakan sistem pneumatik dan motor listrik sebagai sumber pengerak, meliputi perancangan desain, perancangan elemen mesin (rangka mesin, Bak penampung cairan pewarna, pemutar benang tenun ikat, pulley, v-belt dan sistem pneumatik). Mesin pewarna benang tenun ikat semi otomatis bagian pneumatik mengunakan piston pneumatik Diameter 32 mm dan kebutuhan udara yang dibutuhkan 0,000746 m3/s.

Abstract

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is an automatic transmission system with gear ratio shifts following engine speed controlled by the primary and secondary pulleys, as well as the V-belt that connects the two pulleys. The disadvantage of the CVT transmission system is that it often loses grip on the CVT clutch lining and the V-belt at low and high rotation so that research needs to be done so that the power from the engine to the wheels can be maximized. This study used an experimental method by changing the variation in the size of the V-belt and the groove angle on the clutch pads to find the best size for a 125 CC motorbike. The results showed that to get maximum results it is recommended to use a V-belt 803 x 19.0 mm with a CVT lining of 30° producing the highest power and a V-belt 840 x 21.8 mm with a CVT lining of 90° producing the highest torque

Abstract

Hacksaw is a saw that is used to cut metal objects such as iron. Hacksaws are still widely used for metal cutting processes because they have the advantage of not generating excessive heat during the cutting process which can affect the metal structure. Behind these advantages, cutting metal using a hacksaw manually is less efficient in time and the cutting results are less neat. The solution to this problem is to make a hacksaw with an electric motor drive. The design of this automatic hacksaw machine uses a drive in the form of an electric motor with a capacity of 0.5 HP. The output from the rotation of the electric motor is forwarded using pulleys and gears with a ratio of 12:1, and is continued using a slider to move the hacksaw blade back and forth. Reduction of rotation is intended to increase the cutting torque. The design of this hacksaw machine also adds a feature in the form of an automatic switch to stop the movement when the cut is complete. Based on the test results of the automatic hacksaw machine used for cutting carbon steel, the cutting capacity is 2.4 cm2/minute and the electric motor power calculation has a power capacity of 2.5 W/cm2. The results of cutting the material are also straight and neat without causing heat during the material cutting process.

Abstract

Corrosion is one of the things that occurs due to damage or degradation of metals due to a redox reaction between metals and various substances in their environment so that they can produce unwanted compounds. This corrosion is also often referred to as rusting.   The process of this research was carried out by calculating the loss (weight loss) and analyzing the ratio of corrosion velocity, specimen changes, the ratio of fresh water and sea water and the ratio of specimens with coating and without coating. with a research time of 14 days.   From the results of immersion analysis, comparison and calculation of specimens in the corrosion process yielded a value (mm/y), specimen 1 without coating corrosion value per year 0.37 (mm/y), specimen 2 without coating corrosion value per year 0.52 (mm/y ), specimen 1 with coating corrosion value per year 0.26 (mm/y), and specimen 2 with coating corrosion value per year 0.3 (mm/y). Overall, the research conducted on the corrosion of one of the four specimens, namely the specimen without coating, experienced a decrease in mass due to corrosion, from 54.09 g to 54.04 g. Uncoated specimens in the absence of protection have a higher corrosion rate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the catalytic effect of ZnO on the kinetics of the decomposition reaction of burning solid waste. ZnO catalyst was chosen because it has high mobility and reactivity. samples were prepared and randomly selected consisting of 12 types of inorganic waste and 10 types of organic waste. The research instrument uses (DTA) Differential Thermal Analysis proximate testing. From this test the data in the form of a mass decrease graph will be analyzed descriptively. The description of the data is displayed through the TG-DTG curve and the calculation of the activation energy (Ea) using the fitting model. the DTG curve identifies three peaks indicating the decomposition stages of the three components have different characteristics. The decomposed components are 1. lignocellulosic organic and low stability organic components, 2. Volatile substances from plastic components, 3. hydrocarbon residues and ash reformation. The combustion temperature increases in samples with high catalyst concentrations, but the burnout temperature decreases in samples with high catalyst concentrations. The DTA curve shows the increased reactivity of samples with high catalyst concentrations. Oxidative reactions which are exothermic/external heating increase in samples with high catalyst concentrations. The catalytic effect on the addition of zinc-oxide (ZnO) catalyst concentration to the components showed a decrease in the hydrocarbon component and an increase in the short chain hydrocarbon component. Increasing the concentration of zinc-oxide (ZnO) catalyst in the sample increases the activation energy. However, overall the addition of catalyst concentration in the combustion of organic-inorganic solid waste samples was able to reduce the activation energy at the end of the combustion reaction

Abstract

ECU is an electronic device for controlling electronic systems on motorcycles. Centrifugal clutch uses centrifugal force to connect the engine to the wheels. Selection of the right ECU and centrifugal clutch can improve engine performance. This study compares engine performance using different ECUs and centrifugal clutches on Honda Vario 150cc motorcycles. The research method uses experiments and data analysis. The results show that the use of a racing ECU produces the best power at 3500 rpm, which is 14.43 hp with standard clutch lining. Power increase of 1.53 hp from standard conditions. The best acceleration of 9.4 hp is achieved with a racing ECU and a modified clutch pad (7 cm long). At high speed, the highest power reaches 11.93 Hp at 7500 rpm with a modified clutch lining (length 7 cm). The best torque is 42.22 Nm at 1500 rpm with a racing ECU and modified clutch lining (7 cm long), an increase of 2.4 Nm from the standard 39.82 Nm..
