<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the following problems: (a) Does the cooperative learning of the Numbered Head Together model affect English learning outcomes (b) How high is the level of mastery of English subject matter with the application of the Numbered Head Together cooperative learning method. The objectives of this study were: (a) To reveal the effect of cooperative learning of the Numbered Head Together model on English learning outcomes. (b) Want to know how much understanding and mastery of English subjects after the implementation of cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together.This research uses action research as many as three rounds. Each round consists of four stages, namely: design, activities and observations, reflection, and revision. The targets of this study were students of Class IXC at SMPN 3 Muara Bungo. The data obtained are in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. The results showed that student learning achievement had increased from cycle I to cycle III, namely, cycle I (60.71%), cycle II (75.00%), cycle III (89.29%). The conclusion of this research is that the cooperative method of the Numbered Head Together model can have a positive effect on the learning motivation of the Class IXC students of SMPN 3 Muara Bungo and this learning model can be used as an alternative to English.]]>

<![CDATA[Teaching English to young learners is not the same as teaching adults. Children are very active and imaginative but they tend to have short attention span. Teacher should create learning environment as interesting as possible to keep their spirit high during teaching and learning process. In line with this, short stories can be a bridge to facilitate them to learn English. Teacher can explore them to make English learning more interesting and effective. This media helps students to concentrate and engage more enthusiastically in learning English. This paper aims to investigate the value of using short stories and how it is applied in young learners’ classroom. It is hoped that this study is helpful for English teachers of young learners to gain more knowledge on how to create interesting learning environment for a successful learning process.]]>

The editor's goal is to provide a general overview of bilingualism and its implications for understanding the brain, language development and processing, and the social and educational aspects of different types of bilingualism. There are 17 chapters of this collection divided into main parts; (1) theoretical accounts, (2) child bilingualism, (3) adult bilingualism, and (4) bilingual cognition, neuroscience, and impairment. <![CDATA[The use of technology in learning is an effort made in the classroom to increase student participation, motivation and learning outcomes. Edmodo as a technology that can be used in learning has features that facilitate students to learn and play through dynamic games. This article contains the results of research from students' experiences in using Edmodo. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to students regarding the use of features in Edmodo; the extent to which this affects their learning activities in class and also their motivation to learn. The results of this study indicate that the use of Edmodo affects the dynamics of learning in the classroom, student involvement, learning experiences and student learning motivation. In addition, the use of Edmodo features is also very influential in reducing student focus in learning and improving the quality of learning in comparison. learn in a conventional manner. In addition, another factor that affects the improvement of learning using Edmodo is suitable content which is complemented by feedback to students.]]>

<![CDATA[This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted to improve the students’ speaking ability using the roleplay. It was conducted at SMA N 12 Muara Bungo which involved the 11th grade students as the objects. The reseach found that using role play technique in teaching speaking was success to improve the students’ speaking skill. The criterion of action success is 75% of students could achieve the target score of the minimal mastery level criteria or KKM of English lesson was 76 (seventy six). At the beginning, there were 10 students or 35,71% of students in the class who achieved the standard criterion or KKM in pretest. And then, It was increased in the first cycle, there were 16 or 57,14% of students who achieved the standard criterion or KKM. In cycle 2, there were 24 or 85,71% students in the class who achieved the standard score (KKM). Not only that, based on the observation result showed that the students were braver and more confident in speaking, it is proved that the response of the students toward their interest in learning speaking using role play technique were 75.00% and 80.00% that means it falls into the good and very good category.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted to find out the students' motivation and factor becoming English department students at STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo. This research was completed using the qualitative method, case study approach. The data of this research was collected through interview and documentation. This research was conducted in English education department of STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara, involving 20 students as the respondents. Those students were studying in different semesters, semester 2, 4, and 6. The results of this research were obtained, the motivation of students to become English education students at STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo is, there are indicators or supporting elements that bring a big role in the success of individuals in learning, especially in learning English. By learning English makes, respondents have a feeling of need for satisfaction, self-esteem needs, and self-actualization. Factor motivation of students to become Students of English education at STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo above is the encouragement of intrinsic and extrinsic factors in learning English. From the above also researcher concluded that students learning English is greater controlled by intrinsic factors than extrinsic.]]>

<![CDATA[To make the reader understand what the writer means, the writer should compose a well form of the text. Cohesion plays the important role in creating the text. The purpose of this study are to find out what are the types of lexical cohesion in politic column as found in Jakarta Post newspaper and to find out what is the dominant of lexical cohesion in politic column as found in Jakarta post newspaper. This research is qualitative research with library research design the main data of this research is politic column as found in Jakarta Post. The result of this research showed that there are 5 types of lexical cohesion that found in politic column such as; 107 of repetition, 48 of synonym, 13 of antonym, 50 of hyponym and 30 of hypernym and the dominant of lexical cohesion that used in national column as found in the Jakarta Post newspaper is repetition.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted based on empirical findings which showed that the problem was the low level of guidance and counseling services for students to academic supervisors in universities. Therefore, it is necessary to know clearly in responding to the situation, so that the problem lies where, whether it is because of their ignorance or their lack of understanding of the existence of guidance and counseling services in universities. This study aims to determine the role of lecturers in guidance and counseling services in universities. The method used in this study is a descriptive method in the form of survey research. The research subjects are lecturers and students of the primary school teacher education study program for the 2021/2022 academic year. Based on the analysis of the data in the study, it can be concluded that the role of lecturers in guidance and counseling services is in the fairly good category.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan dari penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya perubahan yang terjadi pada dunia pendidikan di abad 21. Abad pertengahan yang ada pada abad 21 berkembangnya informasi dan teknologi dengan sangat cepat. Penelitian yang dilakukan dalam jurnal ini dengan menggunakan studi kepustakaan untuk melihat melalui tulisan dari buku mengenai pendidikan pada abad 21. Hasil penelitian dapat dilihat bahwa terdapat perubahan kondisi yang terjadi pada dunia pendidikan di abad 21. Kondisi yang terjadi pada abad 21 akan lebih ramai karena membutuhkan tantangan keterampilan yang baik dalam dunia pendidikan, kapasitas dalam berpikir, kreatif dan analisis dalam memecahkan persoalan. Pendidikan pada abad 21 bertujuan untuk mewujudkan cita-cita luhur bangsa dengan menjadi masyarakat yang bahagia dan sejahtera, mempunyai kedudukan yang terhormat sama dengan negara lain dan mempunyai kualitas pada sumber daya manusia. Dapat disimpulkan dengan adanya pendidikan pada abad 21 maka ciri yang dapat dilihat yaitu manusia dapat memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam segala bidang kehidupan, baik dalam bidang pendidikan, pada kemampuan pembelajaran lebih ditekankan pada peserta didik untuk dapat mencari tahu dari berbagai sumber dan dapat merumuskan segala persoalan dan dapat berpikir analitis. Kata kunci: Pendidikan Abad 21 Tujuan dari penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya perubahan yang terjadi pada dunia pendidikan di abad 21.
