Attaqwa: Journal of Islamic Education (p-ISSN 1693-0649 e-ISSN: 2620-3901) is published by Islamic Religious Education Study Program of Islamic Institute of Daruttaqwa Gresik, East Java, Indonesia. This journal is focused on the development of Islamic education, both locally, nationally and internationally through the publication of articles and research reports. Abstract

According to records from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 1997, the number of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia has reached 9,388 (up 224%). Meanwhile, the number of students has reached 1,770,768 people (up 261%). The latest data, in 2011, the number of Islamic boarding schools is now 27,218 with as many as 3,650,000 students. Pesantren, when viewed from historical, sociological and anthropological views, this institution should be seen as an alternative educational institution in Indonesia. But the government seems to look underestimated with other formal educational institutions. On the one hand, the government recognizes the products or quality of pesantren graduates, but on the other hand, pesantren remain pesantren that are not fully recognized as educational institutions. Departing from the above reality, in turn it has invited the attention of many people to continuously observe, research, or study the dynamics, development, and existence of pesantren in Indonesia. Therefore, in this paper the author tries to present the theme of the implementation of pesantren by displaying the implementation model of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia

Abstract

One of the learning methods that involve students' participation is the co-operative learning method. In the cooperative learning method, the emphasis is more on the learning process in the group rather than doing something together with the group.. The objectives of this study were to improve: (1) overall student activeness of students in class VII of SMP Manbaul Ulum Bondowoso in the 2022/2023 academic year, (2) learning outcomes of students in class VII of SMP Manbaul Ulum Bondowoso.  The methodology of this research is classroom action research. The research subjects were the seventh grade students of Manbaul Ulum Bondowoso Junior High School in the 2022/2023 academic year, a total of 40 students. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through activities such as: (a) observation of student activeness during learning activities; (b) interviews with students; (c) daily tests. The procedure for implementing the action includes: (a) action planning; (b) action implementation; (c) observation; (d) analysis and reflection. The results of the study have increased when compared to before the application of the GI method, namely in the aspect of enthusiasm in KBM in cycle I, namely indicator BS = 5%; B = 70%; C = 22.5%; K = 2.5% and in cycle II indicator BS = 17.5%; B = 67.5%; C = 15%. The measurement of the cooperation aspect between students has increased, namely in cycle I indicator B = 22.5%; C = 70%; K = 7.5% and in cycle II indicator BS = 2.5%; B = 32.5%; C = 60%; K = 5%. Measurement of aspects of expressing opinions to solve problems has increased, namely in cycle I indicator B = 20%; C = 47.5%; K = 32.5% and in cycle II indicator BS = 7.5%; B = 22.5%; C = 57.5%; K = 12.5%. Measurement of the aspect of asking questions also increased, namely in cycle I the indicator BS = 2.5%; B = 5%; C = 67.5%; K = 15% and in cycle II the indicator BS = 7.5%; B = 22.5%; C = 57.5%; K = 12.5%. The average daily test of students in cycle II also increased by 1.05 (cycle I = 6.31; cycle II = 7.36). So it can be concluded that the Group Investigation cooperative learning method can improve student activeness and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal about the Role of Aqidah Akhlak Teachers in Growing Students' Spiritual Intelligence at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Irsyad Village of Kampung Laut, Kuala Jambi District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. To verify the reliability of the research results, atriangulation technique was used to meet the criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability and objectivity. The results of the study revealed that: The teacher in cultivating students' spiritual intelligence is carried out by getting used to doing good, providing good examples, as a guide by giving advice, as a motivator by giving punishment and as a link by taking an integrated approach in forming student personalities with other teachers. The constraints of the Aqidah Akhlak teacher in cultivating students' spiritual intelligence are lack of supervision of students, lack of discipline in students, and lack of persistence in seeking knowledge. Solutive efforts by the school to overcome the obstacles of Akidah Akhlak teachers in cultivating students'spiritual intelligence are giving severe punishments and always coordinating with the school principal and opening up cooperation with parents of students in instilling high religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the historical contributions and achievements of Nyai Ahmad Dahlan, also known as Siti Walidah, in the context of education and community development. This study examines her involvement in the founding and leadership of Aisyiyah, an organization focused on women's empowerment and social welfare. Through a comprehensive review of historical documents, biographies, and scholarly sources, this research provides an understanding of Nyai Ahmad Dahlan's initiatives, such as the establishment of educational institutions, support for girls' schools, promotion of literacy programs, and giving attention to poor and orphaned children. Research findings reveal that Nyai Ahmad Dahlan plays an important role in promoting education among women and empowering them to actively participate in society. His efforts are not only limited to theoretical discussions, but are reflected in concrete actions that have a positive impact on the lives of individuals and society. In addition, her leadership and guidance inspired many women to get involved in social and educational initiatives, which contributed to the overall development of society. This research highlights the enduring legacy of Nyai Ahmad Dahlan as an influential figure in Indonesian history, emphasizing the importance of her contributions in education, social welfare, and women's empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze effective Islamic education optimization strategies in shaping Islamic character in generation Z students at the Togo Ambarsari Bondowoso College of Tarbiyah (STIT). Generation Z students, as a group that grew up in the era of globalization technology, have unique educational needs and dynamics. The research method used is a case study, with data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, through this approach, we can deeply understand the experiences and perceptions of generation Z students towards the Islamic education process they receive at STIT Togo Ambarsari Bondowoso as well as the extent to which their Islamic character develops in this context. The results showed that (1) the importance of strategies to optimize Islamic education at STIT Togo Ambarsari Bondowoso includes Islamic value-based, technology in Islamic education, hands-on experience and active learning, the role of social collaboration, the effectiveness of Islamic education strategies; and continuing education in daily life; (2) implications for the development of Islamic education at STIT Togo Ambarsari Bondowoso include the characteristics of generation Z students; relevance of contemporary challenges; recognition of the influence of global culture; challenges and obstacles; Islamic education innovation; and the influence of the campus environment. The results of this study are expected to provide practical guidance for STIT Togo Ambarsari in improving and optimizing Islamic education strategies for generation Z, focusing on important aspects of Islamic character building

Abstract

The uniqueness of these diverse cultures has implications for the mindset, behavior and personal character of each as a tradition that lives in the community and region. Intercultural pluralism provides opportunities for conflict when there is no mutual understanding and respect for each other. This article discusses the relevance and historical significance as well as the comparison of multicultural education in an Islamic perspective as a process to minimize conflict in the context of empowering a plural and heterogeneous society to understand and respect each other and form a character that is open to differences both for Indonesia and views on other countries. One of the efforts that can be made to fight for multiculturalism is through multicultural education. A global perspective on multicultural education that is becoming more useful in promoting core human values. Multicultural education will not only reap the benefits of pluralism, but also become a pillar of academic excellence, a democratic model of pluralistic societies and an attraction for international economies and human resources as they better human relations within their own nations and with other countries in the world that are increasingly interdependent, resulting in religious harmony, nation and state.

Abstract

The implementation of quality and quality education is a valuable investment. Education funding has a very important role in the educational process, financing in the world of education is a supporting factor for the implementation of quality education which is contained in financing policies. The type of research used is library research, which is a series of activities related to library data collection methods originating from books, magazines, documents, records of historical stories or pure literature research related to the object of research. Educational policies that support the continuity of the implementation of education in Indonesia are urgently needed in efforts to realize quality education so as to produce graduates who are superior and quality generations of the nation.

Abstract

The implementation of education in Indonesia is none other than to produce a golden generation that is intelligent and has noble character. Intelligence possessed not only in the academic field, but must be spiritually intelligent. The current moral degradation is caused by many triggering factors. The most visible factor is the increasing sophistication of information and communication technology which has not been utilized properly by the community and youth, and the association of adolescents that is too free so that spiritual intelligence has not been formed. Spiritual intelligence needs to be instilled from an early age, one of which is by forming gratitude as the foundation of educational values. Gratitude needs to be trained for every human being under any circumstances, because gratitude is not only spoken but must be manifested by concrete actions. This research is a library research or library research, in this case the researcher looks for sources and data from books, journals, and commentary books that are in accordance with the research title. This is in accordance with the content of QS Al-Fatihah related to the educational values in it. The results of this study include the value of aqidah (tauhid) education, sharia education, religious education, moral education and historical education.

Abstract

The problem of difficulty in reading the Qur'an and anything the hindrances for students must receive attention, not only for students at the elementary level but also for students at the junior and senior secondary levels. This research intends to determine the application of mentoring programs in improving the ability to read the Qoran, and to find out about supporting and inhibiting factors. This research used a qualitative-descriptive method and a phenomenological-naturalistic approach in MTs Al Islam Jamsaren Surakarta. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis techniques. Then, to test data validity, the researcher used triangulation techniques/methods. The result showed that the implementation of mentoring the Qur’an in MTs Al Islam Jamsaren Surakarta runs well. It is evidenced by the increasing of student’s quality of reading the Qur’an. Supporting factors of the success are enthusiasti, self-awareness, mandatory programand parent’s role. While the constraints are limited time and unconducive place.

Abstract

Kasus kekerasan seksual di pesantren kembali terjadi adanya, masyarakat umum ataupun pemerintah dibuat kaget atas terjadinya pelecehan seksual yang dialami oleh 13 orang santriwati yang berada di daerah Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kebijakan pemerintah dalam mencegah kekerasan seksual di lingkungan pesantren dan apa saja yang melatar belakangi kekerasan seksual bisa terjadi di lingkungan pesantren. Metode penelitian ini berupa penelitian kualitatif studi pustaka, untuk metode analisisnya dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan adalah kekerasan seksual yang terjadi di pesantren disebabkan oleh penyalahgunaan relasi kuasa seorang ustadz ke muridnya serta belum adanya aturan secara khusus dari pemerintah untuk mencegah kekerasan seksual di pesantren. Saran yang diberikan dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat lebih cermat memilih pesantren yang jelas sanad keilmuan Kiai nya dan untuk pemerintah perlu secepatnya membuat aturan khusus ataupun merivisi UU No. 18 Tahun 2019 tentang pesantren agar dapat menambahkan kebijakan mengenai pencegahan dan penanggulangan kekerasan seksual di pesantren.
