Abstract

Purpose : In this new normal era, social distancing is acknowledged as one of virus-spreading prevention acts that must be complied with. Early childhood institutions, without exception, need to provide new utilities for each student, for example, education toys. They cannot use a single toy for a group as they did before. It becomes the problem faced by educational institutions of Early Childhood, especially for Pos PAUD Fathonah. To meet the needs of educational toys, innovative materials that are suitable for a given condition are needed. This study aims to consider the wood waste utilization for educational toys. Research methods : The qualitative method is used by doing literature review about wood waste that can provide economical, safety, and durability aspects for educational toys. Findings : The result of the wood waste utilization research is expected not only to become valuable education toys, but also can reduce the environmental effect caused by wood waste itself. Implications : This research helps develop eco-friendly toys.

Abstract

Purpose : Religious buildings generally follow the form, function and decoration of the area oforigin of the religion. Islam in Bali began to spread during the reign of King Dalem Waturenggongwho was centered in Klungkung Regency in the fourteenth century. Since the first time Islamentered and developed in Bali, until now several mosque buildings have experienced adaptation andacculturation with Balinese culture. Adaptation and acculturation are more dominantly affected inreligious buildings because there is no separate style of how the appearance and embodiment of amosque building. In Denpasar City, there are not many mosque buildings that are affected byBalinese culture.Research methods : The research method used is interpretive qualitative. Etymologically,qualitative, comes from quality which means value.Findings : Along with the development and spread of Islam in the archipelago, the architecture ofthe mosque also experienced developments that adapted to each regional culture.Implications : Through architecture, regional culture and religion merge into a strong identity. Inthe architecture there are several elements, one of which is an aesthetic element in the form of anornamental. In this case, the identification of ornaments at Masjid Al-Hikmah entrance is classifiedbased on the four types of ornaments mentioned in the Nusantara Ornaments book, namely:geometric motifs, human motifs, animal motifs, motifs, plants, motifs of natural objects.

Abstract

Purpose : This study aims to give insights regarding Shou Sugi Ban to a degree that becomesknown to more people.Research methods : Applies a literature study method that works by analyzing the data collected.The source of the data is mostly taken from journals, research articles, books, and online websites.Findings : Shou Sugi Ban is a Japanese technique of finishing wood by charring the surface withfire. This technique is environmentally friendly because it naturally makes the wood impossible toabsorb moisture so that the wood can be protected from termites and mold. Generally, there are fivesteps to a perfect Shou Sugi Ban: (1) materials preparation, (2) burn process, (3) surface prep orsanding, (4) stain process, (5) finish process. In architecture, this wood finishing is appropriate forexterior and interior.Implications : The information provided is to be able to add insight and knowledge about one of thenatural finishing techniques that still looks beautiful but is environmentally friendly. So later, theadvantages of finishing Shou Sugi Ban can be more widely known and utilized in the development ofarchitecture.

Abstract

Purpose: trend cycles need to be understood to know the developments and changes in trends infast fashion as well as consumer considerations in consuming fast fashion products.Research methods: Trend changes in such a short time need to be analyzed further through trendstages, trend cycles, and trend differentiation that occurs in fast fashion. To analyze the trend in fastfashion products, a qualitative descriptive method was conducted in which the research processconsisted of collecting and compiling data, analyzing and interpreting phenomena.Findings: Trends provide trends in fast fashion products such as colors, styles, themes, motifs,and cuts/silhouettes. In general, fashion trends generally only recognize two seasons, includingspring/summer (spring/summer) and autumn/cold (fall and winter). Fast fashion has 52 trends in ayear or about once a week. In fast fashion, trend changes are influenced by the stages of the fashioncycle, fashion flows, trend differentiation, and trend adopters.Implications: Fast fashion is a design, manufacturing and marketing method that focuses onproducing large quantities of clothing quickly and at affordable prices. Fast fashion products arealways influenced by trends.

Abstract

Purpose: This article describes the phenomenon of the practice of modifying the Beskalan Lanangdance. Beskalan Lanang dance is a traditional dance from Malang Regency which existed in 2000and is currently experiencing a significant decline. Beskalan Lanang dance depicts a brave andstrong warrior in the middle of his life without his parents. This article is very relevant to the field ofcultural studies because it examines the relationship between the Beskalan Lanang dance, Tourism,and Capitalism.Research methods: This article uses literature and interview methods. The article data ispresented in a qualitative descriptive form and the data analysis uses Bourdieu's Theory of Practice.Findings: The various movements presented in the Beskalan Lanang dance are very thick with thevalues of the nation's character such as tolerance, communication, creativity, independence, peace-loving, and social care. All of these values seem to have been neglected when the Beskalan Lanangdance is faced with tourism needs. To supply the market demand, the Beskalan Lanang dance hasbeen repackaged in such a way, which was originally presented with a duration of 20 minutes buthas been changed to 11 minutes. Because of this, the Beskalan lanang dance will change its formand presentation structure, so that many values are neglected.Implications: The practice of modifying the Beskalan Lanang dance is carried out by actors whohave fund and fund has been converted to legitimize the practice of modifying the Beskalan Lanangdance, so it is very clear that the element of capitalism is closely attached to the rework of theBeskalan Lanang dance.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research and creation is to answer the issue of preserving Balinesetraditions such as barong kedingkling, legong tombol dance, taru pramana, the need for greenspaces during the pandemic, as well as the implementation of the Bali Provincial Regulation No. 5 of2005, in the form of a green facade module with a Balinese identity.Research methods: The method used is based on a design thinking approach which is dividedinto three stages, namely inspiration, ideation, and implementation.Findings: The green facade has a Balinese identity using the form of the barong kedingklingmodule and the legong tombol dance. The plants used are sourced from taru pramana. This strategyis expected to be able to answer the need for preservation, cultural education, and the application oflocal regulations in a new, more modern way.Implications: Preservation of traditional arts can continue with a strategy that is in line with thetimes. There needs to be a creative exploration in line with technological developments. Traditionalart must be able to be applied flexibly so as not to be eroded by the times.

Abstract

Purpose : This study aims to determine the differences in student creativity by using scrapbook media. Research methods : The population in this study were elementary school students in the Air Periukan sub-district. The sample in this study amounted to 100 elementary school fifth-grade students. Data analysis using SPSS 25. Findings: the results showed that there were differences in results with sig <0.05. The average pretest result is 69.18 and the posttest result is 88.02. These results show that students' creativity is higher when using scrapbook media. Thus the scrapbook media influences increasing the creativity of elementary school students. Implications: Scrapbook media is an alternative in increasing the creativity of elementary school students.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to design a public facility which was originally a traditional market with daily commodities to become a modern market with an expanded role as an art market (art space). Research methods: The design method used in the design starts from the stage of finding design ideas, containing ideas and problems that can potentially arise in the design. This stage aims to create ideas based on theory. This data collection includes literature studies and previous studies. Findings: The result of this design is a building that can be oriented to the economy and the arts so that it can accommodate human needs physically and spiritually. The application of the market concept and art space has made the market, which was previously known as a place that was only used to sell daily commodities, which can be used by the community for gathering and other natural organic activities such as art. Implications: To combine the market and the Art Space, a communal place is made, namely a plaza that is useful as a shelter for humans so that the market can also become a more lively place.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper was written with the aim of providing a forum that is able to facilitate the enthusiasm of the community, especially in Central Jakarta, in developing their music education after graduating from SMA / SMK equivalent to a higher level to produce potential and quality graduates. Research methods: The research method used in the design uses location data obtained online to take aerial photos of the site, then combined with architectural theory studies, music theory and comparative studies of similar buildings. Findings: The results will then be analyzed to produce a design concept. The design concept combines the order of the structure in the music consisting of an intro, verse, bridge, chorus, and ending. The concept is applied to the zoning order of the site. The composition of the building mass is also inspired by the form of musical notes that are processed based on different functions. Implications: The expressionism design theme is very appropriate to represent the character of the building to make it more iconic and dynamic. The results of the design process are in the form of concepts, working drawings, perspective drawings, and animated videos.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to conduct experiments on enriching the intensity of traditional Balinese colors that are relevant to the application of color in modern interiors and architecture. Research methods:The research method uses online-based experiments by mixing Balinese colors with light and dark characters in a ratio of 66.7%: 33.3%. Mixing is done by crossing process and the results of the cross process are arranged into a Balinese color palette based on Additive Colors. Findings:The color cross method with a ratio of 66.7% light to 33.3% dark produces bali color variants with various tint intensities. The scan results on the Balinese print-based color composition arranged in the nawa sangha cosmology, which is processed online through the dopely.top website, produces relevant colors developed in modern interiors and architecture. The process of diversifying the color intensity will provide recommendations for its application to residential and non-residential interiors. Implications: Provide insight into the use of traditional Balinese colors to designers and architects, in an effort to preserve and strengthen tradition-based knowledge for the development of modern design science.
