Abstract

This study aimed to determine the market structure of seaweed in Buton Selatan Regency.   The sampling technique in this study used the Slovin formula with a standard error of 10%. Analysis methods of market structure of seaweed including market share, barriers to entry and exit of the market and knowledge of seaweed market. The analysis results showed that the existing marketing structure of seaweed in South Buton Regency was a market share of difference 44%, the barrier to entry into seawed marketing was quite large because the MES value was above 10%. The determination of price of seaweed was determined by city collectors who have adjusted the selling price of seaweed in Makassar. Therefore, price determination of practice that occurs in the marketing of seaweed tends to the oligopsony market.

Abstract

Seaweed distribution is the process of sending seaweed from producers to consumers. This study aimed to determine distribution, distribution patterns, and distribution efficiency in the seaweed commodity business. This research was conducted in Bombana Regency, from February to March 2022. Respondents were classified into 3 groups namely, seaweed farmers, small traders and big traders. Samples of each group were chosen purposively (purposive random sampling) the interview with each respondent used snowball sampling. The data collected includes the characteristics of the respondents, the characteristics of the seaweed business, and the minimum costs. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative to answer the objective of how the distribution and pattern of distribution of seaweed in Bombana Regency was used, while the Least Cost method was used to answer the goal of seaweed distribution efficiency. The results showed that there were 4 seaweed distribution channels, namely: (1) seaweed farmers to small traders to big traders then to industry, (2) seaweed farmers to small traders to big traders then to exporters, (3) seaweed farmers to big traders then to industry, and (4) seaweed farmers to big traders then to the exporter. The amount of seaweed production distributed from seaweed farmers to small traders averaged 361.11 kg, while from small traders to wholesalers an averaged 3,817 kg, and from wholesalers to industry an average of 735 kg. The largest amount of seaweed production is from wholesalers to exporters with an average of 5,591 kg. The efficiency of distribution with the lowest cost occurs in distribution from seaweed farmers directly to big traders and from big traders to exporters

Abstract

The demand for exports from several Asian countries makes fishery commodities a superior product that is able to provide profits to help the national economy. Southeast Sulawesi has an Ocean Fishing Port (OFP) as the center of an integrated fishing industry in the eastern part of Indonesia that is able to increase fisheries production and is an inter-island trade route. This study aims to determine the feasibility of fish export business at PT. Hui Mei Wei Aquatic Product Trading in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This research was conducted in June 2022. The research method used is a case study. Research data is collected in the form of total costs (fixed costs and variable costs), production amount, selling prices of fish, and receipts. The data was analyzed using the business feasibility formula, namely the R/C Ratio. The results of this study showed that the R/C Ratio was 1.68. This means that every expenditure of Rp1 by the industry will get revenue of Rp1.68. thus, the fish export business carried out by PT.  PT. Hui Mei Wei Aquatic Product Trading is worthy of development.

Abstract

Indonesian fisheries are open access, where fishermen can carry out fishing activities in the sea willingly. This factor is an encouragement for fishermen to seize as much fish as possible. The condition, if not utilized properly, can lead to three constraints, namely: low catch rates, low incomes, and excessive capital accumulation in the fishing industry. The potential of pelagic fishery resources was analyzed using the Surplus Production Model (MPS). The production surplus model can be applied if there is a reliable estimate of the total catch or Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) and associated fishing effort for the period 2006 – 2015. The regression calculation results in a coefficient value of α= 62.033 and β= -113.031 so that the CPUE regret equation for effort can be written as ht= 62.033 – 113.031, with R2= 0.61 stating that 61% CPUE can be explained by the effort (trip) of catching small pelagic fish. and the remaining 39% is explained by the other factors). Sustainable production at a maximum sustainable yield (MSY) of 9244 tons/year can be achieved if the fishing effort are around 41057 trips. The results of the analysis show that the MSY obtained is 9244 tons/year with an effort (fmsy) of 41057 trips/year and the number of allowable catches (JTB) of 6808.92 tons/year and a potential of 61%

Abstract

This study aimed to determine some factors that affect production and efficiency of milkfish culture in Tinanggea District, South Konawe Regency. The experiment was conducted from August to September 2022. The total number of samples was 24 people.  Determination of the sample was performed in simple randomization. Some variables collected were the total number of productions, wide of fish culture area employer, the total number of milkfish juvenile, the total number of fertilizers, and the total number of limes.  Data analyses were couple non-linear regression and analysis of production efficiency. The results showed that utilization together of production factors (area-wide, employer, total number of milkfish juvenile, total number of fertilizer, and total number of lime) were significantly different on milkfish production, whereas in partially or individually of production factors such as employer, total number of fertilizer or total number of limes were also significantly different of milkfish production.  Utilization of all production factors was not efficient.

Abstract

This study is intended to obtain an explanation of the relationship between the influence of fishermen's income on the lifestyle of the community in Pemangkat Kota Village, Pemangkat District. Where the welfare of the fishing community in Pemangkat Kota Village, Pemangkat District is not achieved by external and internal factors and lack of attention from the local government. This study used a questionnaire with 53 respondents. This is evidenced by the results obtained based on the results of hypothesis testing. This significant effect can be seen based on the results of the t test on the independent variable/management information system obtained a Sig value of 0.000. A probability value greater than the Sig value (0.05 > 0.000). In addition to using the Sig value, to see the significance of the effect of fishermen's income on people's lifestyles, they can also compare T tables with T test. The result of the coefficient shows the value of T test X1 (5.415). while for T tabel with a significant level of 5% obtained a value of T51: 0.025 = 2.00758 (seen in T tabel with a free degree of 51 and a significant level = 0.025). The comparison of the two yields T test > T tabel, namely T test (5.415) > T tabel (2.00758). The results of the comparison of the two can be concluded that the value of T test > T tabel then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so that the income variable (X1) affects the lifestyle of people in Pemangkat Kota Village, Pemangkat.
