Abstract

One of the stages in the process of processing Lindur flour is drying, where drying is one of the determinants of flour quality. This study aims to determine the effect of drying duration of dried fruit on flour quality. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) one factor with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications. Observations were made on yield, water content, ash content, starch content, crude fiber content, pH value, white degree, HCN content and organoleptic test. This study results that the drying time of the fruit has an effect on yield, water content, ash content, starch content, crude fiber, white degree and HCN, but does not affect the pH value. Based on organoleptic test results, the best is flour with a drying time of 10 hours using an oven temperature of 80oC with the lowest HCN content of 0.027 ppm.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are as follows: To determine the characteristics of hybrid maize farmers in Nagari Kinali, Kinali District, West Pasaman Regency and to analyze hybrid maize farming in Nagari Kinali, Kinali District, West Pasaman Regency. This research was conducted in March 2020. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Determining the location of the study was done deliberately (purposive) with a total sample of 71 people from 247 populations. The data analysis used in this research is qualitative and quantitative. The majority of farmers are in the productive age with the age of 47 - 52 years with 27 people or 38.03%, 22 people or 31.00% of the farmers' education is more dominant, the most dominant farmer's land area is 0.25 -0.50 As many as 58 people or 81.69%, the farming experience has been long enough, namely at most 5 - 6 years as many as 34 people or 47.88% and the production obtained by hybrid corn farmers is Rp. 6,858 Kg/Ha/MT. Revenue amounting to IDR 23,692,154 Ha/MT. Income of IDR 16,153,033 Ha/MT. The total cost is IDR 11,602,388 Ha/MT. Profit of IDR 12,089,766 Ha/MT. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the R/C value obtained is 2.04. This figure shows that if the investment is IDR 1, it will get 2.04 revenue. In other words, the farming in the research area is feasible to be cultivated. and BEP which includes: BEP revenue of Rp. 5,965,342 Ha/MT. The production BEP is 7,180.33 Kg/Ha/MT and the BEP is Rp. 1,693.970 /Kg/Ha/MT that the hybrid maize farming in the research location is feasible to be cultivated.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding red ginger powder to the compression results of gambier leaves and the addition of the right addition of ginger powder to meet the requirements of red ginger gambir leaf tea which is the most preferred by consumers. This research has been conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Products Technology, Ekasakti University, Padang. From October to November 2020. The design used in this study was a simple completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The results of the observation were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) advanced test at 5% level. The results showed that the addition of ginger powder had a very significant effect on water content, ash content, polyphenol content and all test parameters met the dry quality requirements set by SNI. The tea produced by compressed red ginger gambir leaves that the panelists liked the most was treatment E (addition of 40% red ginger powder).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of household welfare of lowland rice farmers from the GSR approach and to analyze the factors that affect the level of household welfare of lowland rice farmers in Nagari IV Koto Mudiek, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan District. This research was conducted in August 2020, with a sample size of 59 people from 147 populations. Data consisted of primary data and secondary data with descriptive quantitative data analysis using GSR analysis and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the level of household welfare of lowland rice farmers in Nagari IV Koto Mudiek, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency was categorized as less prosperous household with a GSR value of 2.607% (> 1). Together, there is a significant influence on food expenditure, non-food expenditure, income from farming, age of the farmer, number of family dependents, education level and rice field area on the level of welfare. Partially which has a significant effect   on   the   welfare   level   of   food   expenditure,   non-food expenditure, education   level   and   rice   field   area.   The   coefficient   of determination (R2) is 0.851 or 85.1%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine household food consumption expenditure in West Sumatra and to analyze household income, non-food consumption   expenditure, and   population   influencing   household   food consumption expenditure in West Sumatra. This study uses secondary data from BPS West Sumatra in figures from 1998-2017. The data were processed using multiple linear regression analysis tools with the SPSS 25 program. The results showed that household food consumption expenditure in West Sumatra in the last twenty years, namely 1998-2017, has increased by 4.15%, with an average per year of 0,21%. Household income, non-food consumption expenditure and total population simultaneously (together) have a significant effect on household food consumption expenditure in West Sumatra with value (sig 0,000 <α 0.05). Then the partially significant influence is household income, non-food consumption expenditure, and population. The coefficient of determination is 0.985 (98.5%).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is as follows: 1). Analyzing the efficiency of carrot farming (Daucus carota L.) in District Ten Koto Tanah Datar District 2). Analyzing marketing efficiency in carrots (Daucus carota L.) in Sepuluh Koto District, Tanah Datar District. This research uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods with population criteria are (1) Farmers who carry out carrot farming activities in the planting season from April to August 2019, (2) Land area cultivated at least 0.25 Ha, (3) Land under cultivation alone. Based on these criteria there are 53 people so that the entire population that meets the criteria is sampled. Data collected in the form of primary data and secondary data. Data   analysis   was   carried   out   qualitatively   and   quantitatively. Qualitative analysis is used to find out the general picture of carrot farming and marketing, while quantitative analysis is carried out to find out about cost structure and revenue analysis and marketing efficiency seen from the marketing margin, farmer's share and the ratio of profits to marketing costs. This research was conducted in July to August 2019. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that: 1). Carrot farming in the District of Ten Koto is worth the effort, this is evidenced by the R / C value obtained at 2.16. 2). There are 2 patterns of marketing channels with different final destination markets, namely Marketing Channel I (Farmers-PPD-PB-Pasar Raya Padang Retailers and West Pasaman) and Marketing Channel II (Farmers - PB - Long Strait Retailers and Padangsidempuan). The marketing functions performed on the marketing channel in the delivery of carrots to consumers have been effective. The most efficient channels are I.a marketing channels with a marketing margin of Rp.4,000.00; farmer's share of 50.00% ¸ and the profit-to-marketing ratio is 2.48 with a sales volume of 57,895 kg.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze hybrid maize farming and study the pattern of decision making in hybrid maize farming in Nagari Lubuk Gadang Tenggara, Sangir District, South Solok Regency. This research was conducted in Nagari Lubuk Gadang Tenggara from April to May 2019. The research method used was descriptive method and survey technique with a population of 58 people from 237 farmers. Samples were taken by census. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative, hybrid corn farming analysis and decision making pattern analysis in hybrid corn farming. The results showed that the production of hybrid maize in Nagari Lubuk Gadang Tenggara, Sangir District, South Solok Regency per planting season was 2.909.56 Kg / Ha, the revenue of Rp. 12,220,152.00 / Ha, income of Rp. 8,387,873.30 / Ha, the total cost of Rp. 4,252,585.91 / Ha, and a profit of Rp. 7,967,657.31 / ha, and the R / C ratio is 2.9. The most pattern of decision making in hybrid corn farming is pattern I (the decision is made by the husband alone without involving his wife).

Abstract

The aim of research was to determine the quality and storey of favorit consumer to tempeh sausage with using various types of flour. The method used was an exploratory method with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications. This study uses several types of flour in making tempeh sausages that is; tapioca flour, corn flour, brown rice flour, purple sweet potato flour and sago flour. The results showed that the use of various types of flour in making tempeh sausage was favored by con summers, up to standard and also quality of sausage specified by SNI. The results of chemical analysis of the best and most preferred tempeh sausage by consumers are found in making tempeh sausage using purple weet potato flour with a water content of 55,98%, ash 1,35%, fat 21,60%, protein 13,34% and carbohydrates 6,25%.

Abstract

Research on the effect of giving bokashi cow manure on the growth and yield of green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was conducted in Korong Gadang Village, Kuranji District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province. This trial starts from January to April 2020. The research objective was to obtain the best dose of bokashi cow manure on the growth and yield of green beans. This experiment used a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 5 groups totaling 25 experimental units. The experimental unit was a plot measuring 1.0 m x 1.5 m, each experimental unit consisted of 10 plants, with a spacing of 50 x 30 cm. Then a total of 125 plants, 5 plants per plot are used as sample plants for observation. The treatments given were several doses of bokashi cow manure, namely: A = 0 t.ha -1 (0 g.plot-1); B = 3 t.ha -1 (562.plot-1); C = 6 t.ha -1 (1125 g.plot-1); D = 9 t.ha -1 (1688 g.plot-1); E = 12 t.ha -1 (2250 g.plot-1). The data from the observations were statistically analyzed with variance (F test). If Fhit. > Ftab, then continued with the Duncan´s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) further test at a significant level of 5%. The results of the experiment showed that giving bokashi cow manure showed a very significant effect on all the observed parameters. Bokashi cow manure 12 t.ha-1 showed the best effect on the growth and yield of green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L).

Abstract

Research "Providing Soil, Oil Palm Empty Bunches Compost (TKKS); NPK Fertilizer 16:16:16 on the Growth of Oil Palm Seeds (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) ”has been implemented in Koto Panjang  Village, Ikur Koto, Koto Tangah District, Padang City. Starting from February to May 2020, the study aims to obtain the best comparison of soil planting media, OPEFB compost and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD), with 7 treatments and 4 replications. As treatment is the ratio of Soil: TKKS and NPK 16:16:16, namely: Treatment A = Soil + 5gr NPK, B = Soil: EFB (1: 1) + 5gr NPK, C = Soil: EFB (1: 1) + 10gr NPK, D = Land: TKKS (2: 1) + 5gr NPK, E = Land: TKKS (2: 1) + 10gr NPK, F = Land: TKKS (3: 1) + 5gr NPK, G = Land: TKKS ( 3: 1) + 10gr NPK. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the provision of land: OPEFB compost; NPK Fertilizer 16:16:16 gave a very significant effect on plant height, weevil diameter, root fresh weight, root dry weight, fresh weight of stems, dry weight of stalks and not significantly different on the number of leaf midribs. Providing soil: The best OPEFB compost is found in treatment D = Soil: EFB (2: 1) + 5gr NPK.
