Abstract

Management information systems (MIS) have an important role in managing data. This article discusses the development of MIS applications that are used to facilitate the management of goods rental transaction data in government institutions. Usually the rental process is written in the tenant's register book, besides that the condition of the goods being rented cannot be monitored in real time. This MIS was developed in the form of a web-based server and Android mobile application. Webserver base application, used as the main database system and as an admin page when doing data updating work. Meanwhile, the mobile-based application provides a rental report data resume page that is recorded regularly and will be needed by executives. The advantage of this mobile basis is that the lessee can easily apply for a practical rental of goods. If approved, the tenant comes directly to the office to pick up the goods and complete the rental documents. Webserver-based applications are developed using PHP and mobile applications are developed using Kotlin. While the API interface uses the REST method. Tests carried out are in the form of alpha-testing to test the running application system and beta-testing for user satisfaction. The percentage of alpha and beta testing results was 100% and 88.60%.

Abstract

The attendance system for lecture activities in various educational institutions, including the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Mataram, still uses paper as a recording medium. The use of paper has a risk of damage and loss, and allows fraud by students. The author developed an Android-based lecture attendance application that uses facial recognition technology with FaceNet, to overcome this problem. When they want to fill in the attendance list, students must take a selfie with the appropriate face position when registering into the attendance system. Through testing facial images, research shows that this system has an accuracy rate of 96.53% in various facial positions, such as upright facing the camera, facing right, and facing left, so that it can be considered very good for recognizing and validating student faces. Thus, the use of this application can help reduce the risk of damage and loss of paper and minimize the possibility of fraud by students.

Abstract

Humans need access to information through cellular technology to support their activities, and will continue to increase with the times. This condition forces cellular service providers to continue to innovate to maintain quality to meet the various needs of their users, including in residential areas. Cellular service quality in housing can be determined using Quality of service (QoS) measurements, one of which is the Royal Medina housing complex in West Lombok Regency. The measurements of Quality of service values and signal level values are using the Wireshark and G-Nettrack Pro applications. In addition, measurements use the drive-test method. Based on the THIPON standard, the outdoor measurement results show that the throughput value is in a bad category, while the delay value is in the medium and bad category.

Abstract

Motorcycle security is still manual and without double safety. One solution is to install guards and trackers on motorcycles. In designing this system using Arduino uno as a controller, SIM800L GSM module as a communication medium via SMS and the U-Blox Neo 6MV2 GPS Module. When a motorcycle is stolen, the security system in the form of an alarm will sound and provide a notification of theft warning in the form of an SMS to the user. This tool can also turn off motorbikes remotely and is equipped with a motorcycle location tracking system via Google Maps. The results of testing the motorcycle tracking system obtained that the average response time of the system providing a reciprocal SMS link location when the user requests the location of the motorcycle is 19.55 seconds. Then the average error distance difference between the position of the actual coordinate point on Google Maps and the position of the coordinate point measured on GPS is 2.111602 meters.

Abstract

Smart Home is a residence or dwelling where electrical appliances are connected to a communication network for control, monitoring, or remote access. One of the technologies used in creating a smart home is the Internet of Things (IoT). In this research, a prototype of a smart home was designed using the DHT11 Sensor and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Sensor. The controlled appliances include lights, fans, and a door lock. In the design of this IoT-based smart home, the results showed that the Internet of Things system functions optimally on the controlled hardware. The switching relay works well, where when the status in the application is ON, the lights will turn on, while when the status is OFF, the lights will turn off. In the automation of the DHT11 Sensor, when the room temperature exceeds 30°C, the fan will turn on, whereas if the room temperature is below 30°C, the fan will turn off. And in the automation of the RFID-RC522 Sensor, when a registered tag card is placed on the RFID reader, the door lock will open, but if an unregistered tag card is placed on the RFID reader, the door lock will remain locked.

Abstract

Various games emerge with different types, platforms, qualities, and popularity. This is due to the integration of many tools with the Android Operating System. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to create a game in the form of an application with Artificial Intelligence for Non-Player Characters (NPC). The implementation of Fuzzy Logic on the NPC aims to enable the NPC to make Decision Making (DM) for dynamic movements, attacking the character played by the human player with the intention of inflicting damage through forward, backward, and attacking movements, gradually reducing the health point (HP) parameter until it is depleted, thus allowing the NPC to win the game. Similarly, the human player will also attack the NPC with forward, backward, jumping, and attacking movements. We named this mobile game "Battle Fence" and it can be played on the Android platform. Furthermore, fuzzy logic plays a role in several modes that we have prepared, such as the "rage" mode, where the NPC can automatically increase its movement speed to attack the human player when the NPC's HP-bar parameter is approaching depletion. Another mode we provide, also possessed by the NPC, is the "back-to-life" mode, where the NPC can revive after being defeated by the human player with an increased health point bar compared to before. The test results show an increase in the Attack-dmg parameter by 20 points, while the Max-Health parameter increased by 100 and 84 points. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the DM and the development of the HP parameter in the application work effectively

Abstract

The waters in the port of ships often experience slack and there is no adequate tsunami detector. In this thesis, a simulation tool for a tidal monitoring system and an Arduino Uno based tsunami early warning system is designed to measure water levels and send a tsunami early warning automatically via SMS to the user's phonecell. Based on the test results, the average value of the error percentage obtained is 4.49%, this indicates that the system is able to detect the water level quite well. Then in the speed of low tide, the system can detect the difference in the speed of receding water to the number of valves that are open, where when one faucet is opened the average receding speed is 0.077 cm/s, the receding speed when two faucets are opened is 0.1222 cm/s. and the receding speed of the water when the three taps are opened is 0.199 cm/s. Water level data, low tide speed and tsunami status conditions can be saved to a micro SD card in Txt format. And the system is able to send a tsunami early warning via SMS when the system detects the speed of low tide >= 0.18 cm/s.

Abstract

Human energy needs continue to increase along with an increasingly advanced level of life. Energy can be divided into two categories, namely renewable energy and non-renewable energy. Renewable energy is obtained from unlimited natural resources and will never run out even if it is used continuously. Meanwhile, non-renewable energy is formed from fossil earth which takes millions of years. In contrast to renewable energy, non-renewable energy has a very limited amount and will run out if it continues to be used. In the future, renewable energy will play a very important role in meeting the energy needs of everyday living things. This is caused by the use of fossil fuels as a non-renewable energy source which has long been used by conventional power plants and increasingly sucks up non-renewable energy reserves. Therefore, one solution to overcome this problem is to utilize renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy. The purpose of planning this system is to know the importance of alternative energy in the supply of electrical energy for the community. This research is a simulation based on secondary data from the 2019 East Lombok Regency BPS and uses the Homer Pro software. The simulation results using this software show that the combined on-grid hybrid power plant has a COE value of Rp. 316.74/kWh (PLN) to Rp. 1.352/kWh (hybrid on grid). In this study, the optimization obtained with Homer is using wind power plants and solar panels.

Abstract

The widespread use of bulk cooking oil in Indonesian households has led to an increase in used cooking oil waste, particularly from eel frying, which can have adverse environmental effects. This study aims to explore the potential of using used cooking oil as a more sustainable alternative to transformer insulation oil (DIALA-B). Previous research has investigated the impact of contaminants such as carbon and water on the breakdown voltage of transformer oil. Methods involving heating, magnetization, and filtration have been employed to improve the quality of used transformer oil. This study follows a similar approach, examining the characteristics of used cooking oil from eel frying and its filtration process using filter paper, while considering factors such as water content, copper strip corrosion, and kinematic viscosity. The research focuses on understanding the characteristics of used cooking oil as a DIALA-B substitute in transformer insulation, enhancing its insulation properties through filtration, and analyzing water content, copper strip corrosion, and kinematic viscosity. Treatment involving heating and filtration has been found to increase the breakdown voltage of used cooking oil, while reusing the oil can decrease its breakdown voltage. Overall, used cooking oil from eel frying exhibits suitable kinematic viscosity and low corrosion levels but has relatively high water content. Reducing the water content through appropriate treatments can improve its breakdown voltage.

Abstract

Inventory management is a very important aspect of the digital era. In the education sector, especially tertiary institutions with laboratories, goods inventory is crucial in asset management. The electrical engineering department has six educational laboratories, requiring a website to inventory tools and materials in each laboratory. The website utilized CodeIgniter and the MVC Model View Controller concept as a basis for building the application. This stage includes making software broken down into small classes, which will later be combined in the next stage and tested with black box testing. The laboratory inventory information system for the Department of Electrical Engineering that was built can provide information in the form of reports the form of suppliers, types of goods, condition of laboratory goods, and their status. In addition, technicians can make reports on laboratory inventory conditions by year and be displayed in graphical form.
