Abstract

This research is conducted in SDIT Al Anwar and SDIT Firdaus Mojokerto, East Java. This research is to identify the model of the Islamic education curriculum, to indicate the religious educational implementation, to identify and understand the current difficulties, and finding the ideal model for the religious educational curriculum and its implementation in forming the students’ character. The currently operating model of thecurriculum is concerned with the National education curriculum’s development which is adapted to each condition of the schools. This also involves local content and self-individual development from the students. The development from the institution is referred to the Quran, Al-Islam, the history of Islam, and Arabic language. The everyday routine of reading prayers, the Quran, brief religious lectures, memorizing the brief verses (the 30th), etc is also introduced. The implementation adapts from two learning thematic models; the lower class, and integrated with the upper class. The school applies a full day learning method. The strongest distinction possessed by the two local curriculum and self-individual development SDIT is located by their ability in cooperating each other in order to create a leadership figure such as the prophet Muhammad saw; trustworthy, fatonah, and tablig. On the other hand, the unfinished and incomplete process of property construction has become a main problem. The ideal curriculum model which has been implemented becomes energy between cultures both in schools and environments.

Abstract

Integrated learning is a learning approach which involves multiple course subjects in order to provide meaningful experience to the students. Integrated education can be realized through the formulation of the vision and mission from the school that need to be achieved, school’s objectives and programs (the strategic plan of the school), the formation of institution culture that reflects the blend of values and learning, which is operationally in the form of curriculum and extra-curriculum plan that formulated such a way so that the fundamental values of Islamic teaching and the science (general education) are integrated coherently. The implementation of integrated PAI learning in Darul Hikam Senior High School is clearly seen on the typical curriculum (kurhas) of character education with developing 7 values (sincere, patient, trustworthy, discipline, caring, smart and good deeds) through Taqwa Character Building (TCB) as mentioned above. This TCB is in line with the philosophy and vision built by Darul Hikam Senior High School. Moreover, TCB is also aligned with the objectives of the national education.

The idea of this research isconducted by the existence of the ordinance which shall be focused on acknowledgement, implementation, and alternative implementation in schools. The result of this research indicates that the law which is related to the standard of the facility and utility of the Islamic educational library for schools are yet still not known by many. Every school by the research has not yet possesses an Islamic educational library and mentioned as it is. The implementation experiences difficulties such as financial support, space, and human resources. Abstract

In Indonesia pondok pesantren is known as the indigenous religious educational institution. Historically it started with the coming of Islam to Indonesia as a center for merely teaching religious knowledge. The basic elements of pondok pesantren are: Kiai as a central figure, santri as a student who persues knowledge, pondok as dormitory where santri lives, and mosque which constitutes as the center of educational activities. In general, due to the system and method of teaching, pondok pesantren classified into two kinds; traditional and modern. Never the less they are having the same vision and mission, that is to say that education is pondok pesantren is community oriented education by cultivating values, moral attitude, and character building of muslim community. That is the main reason that life atmosphere inside pondok pesantren is in inspired strongly by what so called Panca Jiwa – Five spirits – namely; sincerity, simplicity, self – reliance, Islamic Brotherhood, and accountable freedom. In modern Indonesia today the expectation towards the role of pondok pesantren move on since early twentieth century, it is not only performing it’s three traditional roles as locus for transforming religious education, preserving muslim traditions, and producing scholars, but nowadays it plays an important role to educate and prepare leaders of tomorrow who posses specific qualities, namely; noble character, sound body, broad knowledge, and independent mind.

Abstract

There are pros and cons to the existence of the Islamic University of Indonesia (PIRI). Some perceive it as a seeding site of Indonesian Ahmadiyah Movement (GAI) ideas and values. PIRI is alleged to have carried out knowledge transmission for GAI. But for some other, PIRI is a foundation organizing merely educational activities without any affi liation to GAI, especially with regard to such knowledge transmission. Through a qualitative research approach, it is found that PIRI was born from an idea of GAI founders that the spirit of GAI underlies the PIRI education activities. Most of the principals at PIRI schools indeed come from GAI. However, most of the teachers come from a variety of socio-religious backgrounds, and the students are from the community that has never been the followers of GAI. PIRI adopts curriculum produced by the Ministry of Education and Culture for secular subjects and that produced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs for Islamic as well as their PIRI (Ahmadiya)-specifi c subject matters. In conclusion, there is historical and spiritual relationship between PIRI and GAI and not organizational relationship. Although there are attempts of GAI knowledge transmission in PIRI, but education in PIRI schools is more oriented to their educational goals of integrating to social changes in the community, and conformity to the Indonesian national education system.
