Data and information necessary for the study were collected from the M.Ed. curricula of 2 public and 3 private universities of Bangladesh. Only qualitative analyses were done in examining the documentary information. A comparative method was employed to organize and analyze the information. Findings of the study revealed that the structures of the M.Ed. curricula of public universities were more organized than those of private universities. The objectives prescribed in the M.Ed. curricula of public university were more specific than those of private universities; and the objectives of the public university were stated in terms of measurable behavior.

Abstract

The main question for this study is whether the General Course Program (GCP) contributes to the achievement of the vision, mission, and objectives of the Indonesia Education University (IEU) in order to form the personality of students through the educational value as an academic support of Character Education. This study applied the qualitative research method involving lecturers, students, and officials of IEU as the research respondents. Techniques of data collection were in-depth interviews with the respondents from the five schools of Education, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Languages and Arts, Sports and Health, and Engineering. The study findings suggest that GCP contribute greatly to the formation of personality of students through values education as an academic support of character education as stated in the content of the course materials. More specifically, values are not explicitly emphasized in each of the lecture but are integratedly loaded in the course materials; the role of lecturers is to further reinforce the application of values in everyday life; the GCP contributes to giving the strengthening of values as academic support; some lecturers are not as much concerned with the personality development of students but just looking for survivals for themselves.

Abstract

This study is aimed at designing as well as producing  an integrated briefcase  model  as  a  teaching  aid  in  the  teaching  of  digital  electronics practicum  and  its feasibility.   This study  can  be  classified  as  research  and development study. It was conducted in the Electronics Engineering Education Department and State  Vocational School 2 Yogyakarta. The teaching aid was developed  through: conducting  needs analysis,  designing,  implementing,  and testing.  The  testing  was  carried  out  twice  covering  the performance   and feasibility.  The data were collected by using questionaires  distributed  to the users.  The students  of SMK Negeri 2  Yogyakarta were the   subjects  of  the research. In this study the data were analyzed  descriptively. The study findings showed  that  the  teaching  aid  could  be  realized  and  meet  the  competence required in the digital electronics subject. The score obtained from  the content validity test was 90% (categorized as very feasible).  The score of the material validity was 80% (categorized as feasible).  The score of the feasibility  in terms of the material aspect was 42% (categorized as feasible).  The technical aspect was scored 69.83% (categorized as feasible).
