Abstract

The aims of this research to investigate: 1) the difference of bench press exercise effect between 135 and 45 angle, 2) the difference between body weight fat normal and thin normal to the OBrien style performance, 3) the interaction between the bench press exercise and the body weight to the OBrien style shot put performance. The research population was 192 male students in 2 grade of SMK Negeri 1 Wanareja, Cilacap during the academic year 2006/ 2007. There were 40 male student as the samples by using body weight and high test. The result of the research hypothesis test was analysis using two ways Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with significance degree 95% ( = 0,05), the result i.e.: the first hypothesis test show the value of count is 13,49 higher than the F table = 0,05 dk (1); (36) as amount of 4,11 (Fo = 13,49 Ft = 4,11). The summary: there is different effect between bench press exercise with 135 and 45 angle the result of OBrien style shot put. The second hypothesis test show the value of count is 35,95 higher than the F table = 0,05 dk (1); (36) as amount of 4,11 (Fo = 35,95 Ft = 4,11). The summary: there is different effect between body weigt fat normal and thin normal the result of OBrien style shot put. The third hypothesis test show the value of count is 3,83 lower than the F table = 0,05 dk (1); (36) as amount of 4,11 (Fo = 3,83 Ft = 4,11). Abstract

Education is a connector of two sides, one individual side is being growing and on the other hand, social value, intellectual, and moral becoming educator responsibility to push the individual. Individual was grew from the day of born and always grows, this development is causality. But, there is normative component, also because educator claims value, this value is functioning of norm as indicator in identifying what obliged, enabled, and prohibited. So, education is the relation of normative between individuals and value. Education is effort of consciousness and planned to realize situation of teaching and learning process that educative participant actively develops self potency to have the power of religious spiritual, self control, personality, intelligence, glory behavior, and skill required by himself, community, nation, and state. One of our educational problems is the teaching and learning process which still weakly. In teaching and learning process, child is unable to be pushed to develop thinking ability. This reality applies to all subjects, therefore is studied about instructional model especially about innovation of physical education to be continued in Classroom Action Research (CAR). Abstract

Artikel ini menggali teori Bordieu tentang dominasi maskulin yang diterapkan pada kajian pendidikan jasmani dengan mempelajari, menggabungkan, dan mensintesa publikasi yang relevan. Sebagai intelektual yang berpengaruh, Bordieu memiliki teori yang luas mencakup teori sosial dan kultural. Gagasan utama Bordieu yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah habitus dan reproduksi kultural. Lebih lanjut lagi, untuk memahami dominasi maskulin, makalah ini dimulai dari pembahasan yang mencakup konstruksi sosial tentang tubuh. Sebagaimana Bordieu mengakui sekolah sebagai tempat yang produktif dari habitus tertentu, pendidikan jasmani muncul untuk memproduksi dan direproduksi oleh suatu ideologi dominan. Pendidikan jasmani merupakan tempat di mana nilai dari kultur dominan ditanamkan dan direproduksi. Namun, dominasi ini berlangsung sangat lembut sehingga Bordieu mengistilahkannya sebagai kekerasan simbolik. Dominasi laki-laki dalam pendidikan jasmani dicapai dengan memainkan wacana, mengeluarkan kualitas non-dominan, mengembangkan tindakan pedagogi tertentu, dan memberi lebel pada penyimpangan. Artikel ini menyarankan bahwa ada agenda untuk mereformasi kebijakan, program, dan praktik pendidikan jasmani yang lebih ramah perempuan. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the correlation between the student learning motivation and physical education learning outcomes. This research involved 120 third graders Sekolah Dasar Merdeka, Bandung. It employed survey using simple, multiple, and partial regression analysis. The hipothesis showed that there was a positif correlation between student motivation and student learning outcomes in physical education. Abstract

Softball is a team sport modified from baseball which have been developed and popular in the USA. It is a modified games since it could previously be played by male. George Hancock was the one who started to modify baseball with the purpose was to make the game was playable in the winter by establishing written rules named indoor baseball. The effort to socialize this game to children should be done as early as possible. Elementary school is a good starting point to introduce this games. Through school physical education, children can be introduced by various games in order to enrich student movement. One of the effort is to provide modified softball. Several problems which will be explore are why softwall needs to be modified, what is the advantage of the modification, and what are the modified forms of softball? Abstract

This research was grounded on the principle problems related to the low performance on the teaching physical education. Teachers performance itself is influenced by such factors as supervision service, principal leardership, and the availability of adequate learning facilities. With this support, teachers performance could be expected to gradually increase. In connection with this central issue, the authors try to identify specifically factors that contribute towards middle school PE teachers which will be the variable of the research. Theoritically, to improve PE teachers performance needs various efforts. The influential variables on the teachers performance are supervision service, principal leardership, and the availability of adequate learning facilities. This research was a descriptive research which means an inverstigation telling, analyzing, dan classifiying data collected using survey, interview, questionaire, or test. A number of 21 mixed sex PE teachers participarted in the research. They were choosen using a purposive sampling technique. It concludes that supervision service had 73,45% of the contribution, principal leadership had 31,36% of the contribution, and facilitities had 33,29% of contribution. This means that variables that have been the factors provide contribution to PE teachers performance. That is why, it needs institutional efforts from elementary schools in the Cimahi City by providing information to principals to work more optimally. Abstract

This research was a clollaboration investigation among the Department of Physical Education-Yogyakarta State University, Learning Media Laboratory, and physical education teachers. The purpose of the research was to improve the use and the development of learning media in physical education teaching. This research was a partisipatory action research designed to solved problems about the use and the development of learning media in physical education class. Physical education teachers teaching in the neighborhood participated in this research. It employed three cycles which was decided by the paticipants themselves. In each cycle consists of such components as problem indentification, planning, acting, data collection, and reflection. Data were collected by observation and focus group discussion. Data analysis employed focused issues analysis. This result shows that teachers had a great appreciation on this research. Their understanding and ability in the development and the use of media have been improved. They also felt that the workshop really accomodated their needs on teaching as the research employed participatory approach. Abstract

Physical education class is only 2 hours per week. Physical inactivity is a leading contributor to obesity and chronic disease. Numerous studies have shown positive relationships between academic achievement and physical activity. The mechanisms by which students may improve academic achievement as a result of increased physical activity through physical education included improved attention, mood, motivation, cognitive function, and neuroplasticity. Physical activity, especially aerobic activity, increased neurotransmitter activity, blood flow to the brain, and production BDNF (brain-derived neurotrphic factor). Abstract

This research has been inspired by the assumptions that learning process done by school sports (extracurricula) coach could handle student discipline. The problems in this research was what were the efforts done by the coach in handling student discipline in high schools in Bandung City which included strategies and discipline in the teaching and learning processes. The method of the research was discriptive research by survey. The data collection technique included closed questionaire with Likert scale. The population is school sport coach in high schools. A number of 30 partisipants were involved after they have been choosen by purposive random. The results show that the coach had 82% of absorbing power on the startegy component. This means that the strategies that they have been used are good. The coach said that the strategies were implemented to keep ready with the possibilities that indiscipline happens during the learning process. In addition, the coach had 80, 36% of absorbing power on the discipline component. It means that the discipline has been implemented in such a good way. The coach said that the discipline implementation was for decreasing the oppoertunity that indiscipline would occur during learning process. Those two components are the variable effort that has absorbing power 81,18%. It shows that the coach had good efforts in handling student discipline. Abstract

This paper was inspired by the emergence of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) as one of approaches in physical education learning founded by Bunker and Thorpe. TGfU needs to be developed in order to better school physical education. Better understanding and basic concept on the TGfU should be posessed by physical education teachers to ensure the appropriateness and the advantages in the practice. This article describes TGfU as a newly approach in physical education, basic concept, and various perspectives on TGfU. The explaination and presentation using various figures and table would help the readers to better understand about TGfU.
