This article reports the community service project on the implementation of a training model specially designed for alumni of English Education Department (hereafter, EED), Ganesha University of Education. The gradual increase of student body in EED has been found to have a direct effect on the longer waiting time for employment. It is common that they work as part time English instructors in private English courses while waiting for permanent employment. This kind of job has been considered temporal and it is unlikely to be taken seriously. Private English courses that provide general English tuitions are abundant, therefore, to be competitive the training follows a 100-hour English for Specific Purposes (hereafter, ESP) model. The materials involve 8 ESP packages that comprise English for Policeman, for Banking, for Hotel Restaurant, Tour Guides, for Secretary, for Public Relation, and for Art shop attendants and Street Vendors. They also learn about course management and conducting fun classroom activities. All the trainers are experienced human resources in the fields. The project results in 8 material packages and strong motivation of the alumni to start entrepreneurship in ESP courses

Jiken village located in the district Reinforcement, Sidoarjo regency, ±10 km from downtown Sidoarjo. Jiken village is a village of SMEs engaged inthe activities of Household Appliance Craftsmen, Artisans Batik, EmbroideryCraftsmen, Artisans Bags and Aquaculture in ponds. The rest of the villagersJiken many craftsmen who work as children's toys. In this dedication programraised issues 2 Partners, which Partner 1 and Partner 2, both the partners workas artisans craft toys. Crafts Toys effort is capable of producing 48 scores for 2weeks, scores of 3.4 per day. Development of a toy Kids Crafts Village JikenTulanagan Kab. Sidoarjo in increasing production capacity through science andtechnology program for Community (IbM) Partner 1 and Partner 2 is going welland according to plan. Several problems Partner 1 (Artisans Children toys) andPartner 2 (Craftsmen toys Children) has been given a solution according to planand the process runs smoothly solutions which include among others: 1). PENGARUH VARIASI KONSENTRASI BAHAN ADITIF LARUTAN NANOPARTIKEL PERAK TERHADAP SIFAT ANTI-JAMUR CAT DINDING SEBAGAI APLIKASI TEKNOLOGI NANO DALAM INDUSTRI CAT DINDING W.S. Brams Dwandaru; Z.M. Chrishar Putri; E. Yulianti

This research aims to (1) identify the characteristics of silver nanoparticle by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer; (2) determine the anti-fungus property of wallpaint after being added by silver nanoparticle solution; and (3) determine the effect of silver nanoparticle solution concentration towards the anti-fungus property of the wallpaint. This study begins by synthesizing the silver nanoparticle solution with concentrations of (in mM) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Then as much as 80% and 20% of wall paint and silver nanoparticle solution, respectively, are mixed. The solution obtained is tested using UV-Vis pectrophotometer and followed by conducting an experiment of the anti-fungus properties of the wallpaint with silver nanoparticle solution as an additive material. The measurements are conducted three times. This research shows that concentration of the silver nanoparticle solution affects the anti-fungus properties of the wallpaint. The diameter of the anti-fungus for the concentration of (in mM) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are (in cm) 1.36; 1.42; 1.45; 1.53; and 1.79, respectively. The greater the concentration, the greater the diameter of the anti-fungus. Therefore, the silver nanoparticle solution can be used to obstruct the fungus growth on the wall

Karangmalang and Kuningan are the area located near the campus ofYogyakarta State University and Gadjah Mada University. This causes the twoareas have crowded population. Many students from outside of Sleman Yogyakarta stay in many boarding houses that need laundry service since they do not have enough time and are very busy of studying activities. There are approximately 30 laundry service businesses in these areas. The condition has positive impact on local people income generating. However, it also cause adverse effects on the environment because of the laundry waste water directly discharged into the environment without prior treatment. The priority problem to solve is the disposal of waste water and dissemination of eco-friendly detergen. We had “Sekar Laundry” and “Ramadhani Laundry”as our partners in this programme. To achieve the objectives of the project we carried out the following methods: (1) socialization, counseling, and training for the introduction of ecofriendly detergents and simple sewage treatment; and (2) the application of appropriate technology of waste water treatment based on fitoremediation for both partners. The results obtained were in accordance with the purposes. We could overcome the environmental pollution caused by waste water of laundry activities. Based on laboratory tests, laundry waste water from the outlet of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (the WWTP) had significantly quality improvement that it made safer to be discharged into the environment, with 27,125% of BOD decline efficiency, 120,350% of COD decline efficiency, 17,300% of TSS decline efficiency, 11,597% of detergent decline efficiency, and 88% of phosphate decline efficiency

This IBM program aimed: (1) accompany and guide a group of microbusiness productive economic country society in developing production partner I and partner II; (2) create a partnership sinergy that condusive between society and university. General cases that occur in partner are: (a) fund limitation, market ing, and media production that produce a lot of products, (b) don’t have dry oven at rainy season, (c) lack of skill in doing diversification product, (d) don’t do good accounting report management, (e) don’t have label and hausehold food industry. The solutions are: (1) counseling and guidancein applying a loan in a bank; (2) socialization about diversification product by appropriate technology; (3) counseling and guidance in making accounting report; (4) counseling production and marketing management; (5) counseling and guidance in making labrl, i-household food industry, and kosher certificate. The implementation program of IBM done in 3 stages: (1) preparation stage, (2) implementation stage, (3) evaluation stage. Lack of knowledge and skills in product development making traditional potteryartisans in the village Pagerjurang not been able to increase the economic value of the products. While the potential of pottery in the village is very large, plus a slanted rotary tool which is the cultural heritage of the ancestors and the only one in Indonesia. On the other hand, the modern pottery craftsmen in this village already capable of making pottery as a work of art with a high economic value that integrates traditional pottery art with batik skills, which were developed are batik ornament, but have limited business capabilities to meet market demand. This IbM activities lead to create synergies between traditional and modern pottery craftsmen, so as to improve the business capabilities of both groups of the pottery craftsmen. The method used is the business couching, training, and knowledge and technology transfer. The results of the IbM implementation able to help artisans modern expand its production apacity, craftsmen traditional pottery has led to the innovation of making pottery with batik ornaments, artisan pottery capable of calculating production cost and selling prices. Other than that IbM team give the oven test of glaciers and batik for media pottery tools

This program aims to (1) conduct a workshop to enhance the skills ofstudents as a strategic objective in designing and making glass mosaic crafts as a precious work of art; (2) involve students in skills enhancement of productive age youth as key strategic objectives in designing and crafting glass mosaic; (3) build networks in the form of a group of small business production and open up access to markets through partnerships with Cooperatives and SMEs (called UKMK) in developing youth as a pioneering institute of Cooperative and SMEs. Some methods were used in the impowerment such as training, workshops and mentoring. Overall method involves the students and youth in the target areas of the program. The results that have been obtained are (1) the skills of students in designing and making crafts glass mosaic as a valuable work of art increases; (2) There is a growing youth skills of youth age as the main strategic objectives in designing and crafting glass mosaic; (3) Formed cooperation in marketing products through exhibitions of Kulon Progo Regency Development. The local government provides full support for the implementation of the program
