Abstract

This qualitative research was carried out in the classroom VII F of SMPN 1 Kebonagung Pacitan, on JLS Street Kebonagung Pacitan. The research was carried out at the first semester of the academic year of 2012/2013. Further, the techniques used to collect the data were: (1) observation; (2) in-dept interview; (3) recording documents; (4) and then the data were documented. The data analysis was through seven steps those were: (1) observation; (2) textualisation; (3) multicolumn text; (4) segmentization; (5) thematization; (6) proposisionalization; (7) and reduction. The units of main data were analyzed by researcher through five steps which consisted of: being analyzed, being interpreted, being summarized, being concluded, and being recommended. Based on the result on the observation in the activity of the teaching and learning speaking skill, it was obtained 112 statements of data identities. In relation with the topic, some of the statements of data identities were relevant but some others were not, the irrelevant data were not discussed in this chapter (they were reduced), while the relevant data became units of main data analyzed based on the underlying theories and the result of interviews, as well as the related documents. The results and discussions include: (1) aspects of learning done by the teachers including: methods were more atractive teacher-centered and students-centered, teaching and giving instruction, teachers stood in front, the material presented was appropiate to the topic; (2) aspect of the students, among others were enthusiastic but tended to be crowded.Key words : Teaching and Learning, Speaking Skill

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a model to change the perception of adolescents about sex before marriage. The development of the model should be able to be applied significantly by identifying the factors that encourage the formation of these perceptions. The model is expected to be effective to shift the perception of adolescents towards the expected direction. The model establishment to change the perception of a positive perception on premarital sex among teenagers is developed in three stages, socialization, stage, and phase change of attitude changes the factors that influence the perception in adolescents. This model was developed to be applied by the four authorities; parents, schools, communities, and government. This model should be jointly undertaken by the authorities to enable the strengthening of the effectiveness of the model.Keywords: Perception, model

Abstract

This research aimed at determining whether the Team Game method can increase physical fitness on the fifth grade students of Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah elementary school Condongcatur. The research was carried out in Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah elementary school Condongcatur from July to October 2014. Further, the subject of this research was the fifth grade students of Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah elementary school Condongcatur schooling year 2014-2015 consisting of 40 students who are 21 male and 19 female students. This research implemented Classroom Action Research (CAR) within the analysis by comparing the precondition of students, test results after the first cycle and test results after the second cycle. Based on the research findings, it could be concluded that the team game method could be used as an attempt to increase the physical fitness of students on the fifth grade elementary school children Condongcatur Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah schooling year 2014/2015 which was proved from the study that has been carried out in the first cycle and the second cycle. Almost all students experienced the significant increase in physical fitness. This was also proved that after the first cycle test, there is only one student whose physical fitness test is less. After the second cycle was then carried out, there is no longer student of whose physical fitness test is low.Keywords: Physical Fitness, Team Game.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the correlation between children’s (students’) perception toward parental support and children’s (students’) anxiety leading up to the National Examination (UN) in class IX at 2 Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta State Yunior High School. The hypothesis of this study was that there was a negative correlation between the children’s (students’) perception toward parental support and children’s (students’) anxiety levels toward the UN. The subjects were students of class IX at 2 Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta State Yunior High School, amounted of 116 students. Furthermore, the data collection used in this study was the scale of the children’s (students’) anxiety toward the UN amounted to 25 valid item, α = 0.853, and the scale of the children’s (students’) perception to parental support amounted to 27 valid item, α = 0.905, which had been tested on 105 students of class IX at 5 Depok Sleman, Yogyakarta State Yunior High School. Based on the correlation analysis, it was shown that a correlation coefficient was -0.408 (p <0.01). This meant that there was a significant negative correlation between the children’s (students’) perception to parental support and children’s (students’) anxiety levels toward the UN. It meant that the higher the children’s (students’) perception to parental support,the lower the children’s (students’) anxiety toward the UN would be. Otherwise, the lower the children’s (students’) perception to parental support, the higher children’s (students’) anxiety toward the UN would be.Key words: The children’s (students’) Perception to Parental Support, children’s Anxiety(Students).

Abstract

This research had attempted to find out a solution for teacher in assessing individual learners authentically. The method used in the preparation of this article is derived from the literature review to obtain formulation of the problem, data collection, discussion, conclusion and suggestion. Based on the hypothesis testing using t test, it was concluded that Role Play method combined with a Scientific approach obtained better learning achievement than those taught using Lecture method or Direct Learning. It provided a new alternative for the implementation of the learning curriculum in 2013 using the Role Play combined with the Scientific Approach. In the process of learning, the teachers or lecturers were both greatly helped by the application of this method. That was because the learners were required to demonstrate their abilities individually in front of the class when learning activities took place.Keywords: scientific Approach, Role Play Method

Abstract

This study aims to describe how is the implementation of the 2013 curriculum and how is proper assessment of the 2013 curriculum. The method used in this research was literature study (Library Research). Then, the data was collected by review of books, literatures, records, and reports which were relevant to the solved problems. Data collection techniques used in this study were primary data and secondary data. The primary data used in this study was 2013 curriculum. Meanwhile, the secondary data sources were widely from variety of the relevant books to the discussions. Furthermore, the data analysis was descriptive analysis focused on the solution or solving the existing problems, then the existing data were prepared for analysis. Based on the findings of the study, the implementation of the 2013 curriculum did not only focus on the process of value internalization, but also focus on both spiritual and social competence of the students through scientific approach, integrative holistic, based on each learners’ intelligence. Therefore, it requires an assessment that encourages the development of learners in ethical and appropriate strategy which are suited for the achieved educational goals; thereby encouraging the teachers’ creativity and development capabilities to have better 2013 curriculum implementation.Keywords: 2013 Curriculum, Assessment, Learners’  development.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa hendaknya selalu diterapkan pada setiap proses belajar mengajar. Pada setiap prosesnya, diperlukan kreativitas, keaktifan maupun inovasi oleh seorang guru agar hasil akhir dari suatu proses pembelajaran menuai hasil yang maksimal. Indikator keberhasilan suatu proses pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah hasil belajar siswa yang meningkat. Salah satu penerapan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar adalah penerapan Problem Based Learning dengan materi permasalahan sosial di sekitar lingkungan siswa. Problem Based Learning merupakan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang autentik dimana siswa diberikan masalah-masalah sosial yang ada dilingkunagan sehingga siswa membuat hubungan-hubungan yang dimilikinya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN Nglames 01 Kabupaten Madiun Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Analisis statistik signifikansi perbedaan pretest-posttest dengan Uji-t berpasangan untuk mengetahui signifikansi pengaruh peningkatan hasil belajar antara pretest dengan posttest. Dari analisis statistik Uji-t diperoleh hasil bahwa taraf signifikasi dengan sig (2 tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan model Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jadi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning sangat berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pada materi masalah sosial siswa kelas IV SDN Nglames 01 Kabupaten Madiun.Kata kunci: problem based learning, masalah sosial, hasil belajar.

Abstract

This study, which was kind of qualitative approach, aimed at determining the profile of students’ thinking skills in solving mathematics problems based on the Bruner theory. The results showed that both respondents of high category tended to have a good thinking profile in solving the pyramid geometry. Moreover, the both subjects were able to describe the pyramid, mention the five characteristics of pyramid and three elements of the pyramid and were able to calculate the surface area of the pyramid as well as able to use formulas in the pyramid. In addition, both of the medium category respondents indicated that they had a tendency of enough thinking to solve the problem of the pyramid geometry. The both were able to describe the pyramid geometry, mention four characteristics of the pyramid, two elements of the pyramid, and were able to calculate the surface area of the pyramid even though the end result had not been correct and not been able to use the formula to calculate. Meanwhile, the both respondents of low category indicated that they tended to less think in solving pyramid geometry. The both were only able to describe the pyramid geometry, but they are able to mention two pyramid characteristics, the pyramid elements, and were also not able to calculate the surface area of the pyramid, and not able to use the formula to calculate.Keyword: solving, mathematics, and the theory of Bruner.
