Abstract

Background of this research is comprehension of concept studied mathematic at student  SMPN 4 Muara Bungo class VIII is still low. The purpose of this research is to know what is studied comprehension of concept student  with spotlight technique is good than conventional study at SMPN 4 Muara Bungo class VIII. Kinds of this research is experimental research with hypothesis p-value is 0,005, so hypothesis is receive. So that can concluded that comprehension of concept with spotlight technique  is good than comprehension of concept with conventional study at SMPN 4 class VIII Muara Bungo

Abstract

The background of this research is that the students’ mathematical concept apprehensions are low, that can be seen from the points of 2nd-final-semester examination of VIII-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang of the year 2012/2013. The purposes of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehensions by applying the trading-places-type active learning strategy is better than that using the conventional learning for the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang. This is experimental research with Random to Subject design. The population in this research is the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang of the year 2013/2014, consisting of six classes from IX2 to IX7 classes, except for IX1 class that is excellent students. The technique of sampling is total sampling. The sample classes were determined randomly so that the IX4 was selected as an experimental class and the IX6 as a control. The instrument used in this research is test for the mathematical concept apprehension in the form of essay with the test reliability of r11 = 0.89. The technique of data analysis applied is t test of one party with assistance of software MINITAB. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously on the level of α = 0.05 and the hypothesis tes is P value = 0.021, meaning smaller than α = 0.05. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension using the trading-places-type active learning strategy is better than that using the conventional learning for the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang with the trust level of 95%..

Abstract

The research was motivated by the lack of ability of the student in constructing their own knowledge and comprehension of mathematical concept student are still low. Resolve the issue applied a strategy of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is the design of the random experiment eith the subject. Populasi in this study is the eight grade student of SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh. Random sampling is done perpetually, as the experiment class is VIII5 class and control class is the class VIII1. This research instrument is the ultimate test with indicator student comprehension of mathematical concepts. Form of test used is a form of essay that valid and reliabel. Based on the test result obtained by the hypothesis P-value = 0,001 at significance level  = 0,05, since P-value  , reject H0 and accept H1. Thus, it can be concluded that student comprehension of mathematical consep using strategies of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is better than the student comprehension of mathematical concepst with convensional learning on eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh

Abstract

The research is motivated by  students’ understanding of mathematical concepts that still low and the material that students have was lost from their mind. This reserach is to determine wether students’ understanding of   mathematical concepts  by using a strategy Hollywood square Review better than students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by using conventional strategy at VIII Grade of SMP N 1 Koto Baru. Type of this research was experiment. Population in this research was students at VIII grade of SMP N 1 Koto Baru, and sample of this research was students class VIIIA as experimental class and VIIIc as control class. Post-test was as instrumentation in this research, with realibility 0,88. From the data analysis get mean score from students’ achievement in experimental class was 66,22 that high  rather than in control class that was 35,68. data analysis was done by using hypothesis testing. Tcalculated= 4,15 and ttable= 1,65. so, we can conclude that students’ understanding of  mathematical concepts that used Hollywood Square Review better that conventional strategy  at VIII Grade of SMP N 1 Koto Baru

Abstract

Background of research by concept comprehension mathematik of student wich still low, the lack of students interest toward mathematik, the sudent is not used to think, the lack of students bravery to ask question to the teacher. The purpose of this research to know how long concept comprehension mathematic of the student which apply Cooperatif Learning Model Think Pair Square (TPSq) Type follow by Cartoon Work sheet as good as comprehension mathematik of the student which learning conventional student class VIII SMPN 34 Padang 2012/2013 academic year. Population is the student grade-VIII of SMPN 34 padang. This research is experimental research, the design of randomized trial on the subject. The instrument used is the final essay test. The technique analysis data that used is the t test one hand. Hypotesis is test result obtained is that tvalue = 2,80 is greather than ttable = 1,645. So hypotesis research resived until we can conclude that concept comprehension mathematic of the student apply cooperatif learning model Think Pair Square (TPSq) type follow by cartoon Work Sheet ask good as consept comprehension mathematic student which apply conventional learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is student ability in offering opinion also less interaction and student comprehension of mathematical concept is low. This research purposed to know whether students comprehension of mathematical concept which used Active Learning Strategy TypesTrade Place better than using conventional Learning at eight grades of Junior High School number 1 LubukBasungacademic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental research which random design of the subject. Population of this research is eight grades student of junior high school number 1 LubukBasungacademic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling was selected class VIII.2 as experiment class and class VIII.7 as control class. Instrument is comprehension test of mathematical concept in essay form with reliability of test is examines t one side with software MINITAB 14.Based on finding of examine hypothesis get p-value =0,002 it means lower than . so hypothesis in this research was accepted that students comprehension of mathematical concept which use Active Learning Strategy TypeTrading Places is better than student comprehension of mathematical concept which use conventional learning at eight grades of junior high school number 1 LubukBasung academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research is introduction by the lack of the students’ understanding of mathematical concept and the mathematics learning activities by teacher center. This research is aims to determine  the implementation of active learning strategy type The Learning Cell in improving students’ understanding of mathematical concept class VIII SMPN 11 Padang. The type of research is experiment with random of subject. Population in this research is students class VIII SMPN 11 Padang who registered in academic year 2012/2013. The technique of sampling is random and selected class VIIIF as an experimental class and VIIIE as a control class. Instrument used was an essay test with a reliability test is 0,826. Based on the analysis of data obtained that the average student learning outcomes experimental class is greater than the control class. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test with the MINITAB’S program, obtained P-value is less than α. The hypothesis is accepted at the 95% confidence level. Thus it can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concept with an active learning strategy type The Learning Cell is better than students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning class VIII SMPN 11 Padang.

Abstract

 The bagkround in this research is the lower understanding of math concept of student. The goal of this research is to know whether student’s math concept understanding by appying Guided Note Taking Strategy with Quiz better than the students math concept understanding by applying conventional learning to students VIII (eight) grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung. The research did in August, 28 until September, 13 2013. The kind of this research in experiment research. The population in this research is students VIII grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung. The sample technigue in this research randomized sample technique, as experiment class is VIII.1  and VIII.2 as control class.  The instrument in this research is quiz and final test with indicator concept understanding. The test form is used is essay test. The question of final test is eight with reliabilitas 0,91. The students learning result is analyzed by using MINITAB, because p-value < 0,05 then the hypothesis in this research is accepted. It is concluded that the students math concept understanding by applying Guided Note Taking Strategy with Quiz better than the student math concept understanding by applying conventional learning  to student VIII grade junior high school 4 Sijunjung.

Abstract

This research based on the lack of comprehension of the mathematical concepts that students look at learning outcomes math class VII student SMPN5 Padang and less active in group discussions. This study aimed to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application of cooperative learning type think pair share a better comprehension of the mathematical concepts that students applying conventional teaching class VII SMPN 5 Padang academic year 2012/2013, and to determine whether the application of Cooperative Learning type Think Pair Share cooperative Mathematics Learning effective. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. The research instrument is shaped final essay test with a reliability test is r11 = 0.84, and a questionnaire study of learning effectiveness. Based on questionnaire data obtained percentage of the overall indicator of the effectiveness of learning by 85,26% including the highly effective criteria. Hypothesis testing using t-test of the parties with the help of MINITAB, obtained p-value = 0.011 is less than α of 0.05, then reject H0. So, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application of cooperative learning type Think Pair Share (TPS) is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class and implementation of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share  (TPS) is very effective in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The research was due to the lack of student’s ability in comprehension mathematic concept. Morever, the students seemed to have ineffective discussion within the group during the learning process that their mathematics’ result were low. The research aimed at finding out whether students’ mathematic comprehension which were taught using Student Team Achievement Division with Numbered Heads Together better than that of conventional learning. The design of the research was experimental research. The population was student of grade VIII SMPN 3 Palembayan. Based on the result of random sampling technique, grade VIII3 was chosen as the experimental group, while the grade VIII4 as the control group. The instrument used was an essay test. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that both class were distributed homogeny and normal. Based on the analysis of hypotesis, it was obtained that the p-value = 0.003 was <   = 0,05. Thus, the hypotesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ math consept comprehension using Cooperative Learning Model Student Team Achievement Division with Numbered Heads Together was better than that of conventional technique with the 95% degree of certainty
