Abstract

Keywords: Semiotics, Codes, Connotative Meaning, Three (3) provider, Advertisement.This study analyzes the codes and connotative meaning in Three (3) provider advertisement kebebasan episode. Three (3) provider is one of provider which is distributed in Indonesia. In this research, the writer analyzed the codes and connotative meaning used in Three (3) Provider in order to understand the deeper meaning of this advertisement. The research problems are: 1) What kind of codes used in Three (3) Provider kebebasan episode, 2) What are the connotative meaning found in Three (3) provider kebebasan episode. The main theory used in this study are tripartite framework from Chandler (2007) and the order of signification from Barthes (1957).This study uses qualitative approach since the writer tries to analyze the visual and verbal elements of Three (3) Provider advertisement kebebasan episode. The data of the study are video advertisement containing codes and connotative in Three (3) Provider advertisement kebebasan episode.The results of this study reveal that Three (3) provider advertisement kebebasan episode contains codes and connotative meaning to deliver message about freedom in society and insinuate other provider implicitly at the same time. Three codes proposed by Chandler are applied in the advertisement. The codes which are found are social codes (verbal language, bodily codes, commodity codes); textual codes (genre, rhetorical and stylistic code; mass media code) and interpretative codes (perceptual code). In the finding, all of the scenes of Three (3) Provider advertisements kebebasan episode have connotative meanings because all of them contain both images and utterances that have hidden messages.To sum up, Three (3) provider uses codes and connotative meaning to deliver the deeper message about freedom in society and insinuate other provider implicitly. Further, the readers can get additional information related to the codes and connotative meaning. The writer suggests for the next researchers who are interested in the semiotics to take data from other sources like radio, newspaper, magazine, advertisement poster or novel poster. The future researcher can use theories from other experts as well.

Abstract

Keywords: Divergent, Feminism, Gender, Women Negative Stereotypes.Gender is social and cultural construction about the differences of the roles and opportunities between men and women which occur in society. Gender often causes inequality between man and woman which usually disadvantages woman because of the negative stereotypes that exist in the society. The writer conducted a study on Divergent novel to analyze the portrayal of female characters countering negative stereotypes that exist in their society.Sociological approach is used in this research related with the context in the society. Feminism theory is applied in this study to analyze the data which mainly about the struggle of female characters in the society.This study reveals that the female characters in the Divergent novel do not fit the negative stereotypes that are labelled on them. The portrayal of women characters are considered as the picture of strong, brave, and intelligent women who has important contribution to the society. The women characters proves that they have courage and bravery, for example they can make decision over themselves and willing to sacrifice their life for others whom they love. Second, the women characters are depicted as brilliant which makes men feels threatened and intimidated. Third, the women characters depicted has physically, mentally,and emotionally strong that makes men feels threatened and the last, the women characters depicted as having important role to contribute to the social development by helping others.In conclusion, the women characters in this novel prove that women do not fit the stereotypes that are attributed by the society. In this novel, the women characters are considered as the portrayal of strong, brave, and intelligent women who also has important contribution to the society.The writer suggests the next researchers to use different approach or theories such as Psychology or Marxism to analyze the novel. The first theory can be used to understand the characters and their psychological development. Meanwhile the second theory can be used to observe the social class struggles within the society in the novel.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Media, Minat, Media Visual, Microsoft Power Point 2013. Pembelajaran bahasa Jepang khususnya pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas saat ini belum memanfaatkan secara penuh penggunaan media pembelajaran. Minat siswa pada pelajaran bahasa Jepang juga masih sangat kurang dibandingkan dengan pelajaran lain. Hasil dari pembelajarannya juga masih kurang. Dari latar belakang tersebut penulis merumuskan masalah sebagai berikut : 1). Bagaimana minat belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Malang pada pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jepang tema hobi menggunakan media Microsoft Power Point 2013, 2). Bagaimana pengaruh media visual Microsoft Power Point 2013 dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jepang tema hobi pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Malang.Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, karena pada akhir kesimpulan menggunakan angka, selain itu metode kuantitatif juga lebih baik digunakan untuk mengetahui suatu pengaruh.Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan ditemukan bahwa media pembelajaran Microsoft Power Point 2013 mampu meningkatkan minat siswa dalam belajar bahasa Jepang tema hobi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan analisis data angket sebesar 95,7 % siswa berminat. Media tersebut juga terbukti sangat berpengaruh pada siswa dengan hasil yang diperoleh pada siklus satu sebesar 69,25 dengan nilai dari beberapa siswa yang kurang. Pada siklus dua terjadi kenaikan prosentase nilai menjadi 87,25. Hasil pada siklus dua tersebut masuk pada kriteria sangat baik sesuai dengan standar penilaian umum.Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Microsoft Power Point 2013 dapat meningkatkan minat belajar bahasa Jepang pada tema hobi, dan juga terbukti sangat berpengaruh karena pada siklus satu dan siklus kedua terdapat selisih rata-rata sebesar 18. Kemudian untuk peneliti selanjutnya yang ingin meneliti media pembelajaran sebaiknya menggunakan materi yang mudah di ilustrasikan dengan media pembelajaran tersebut agar siswa tidak merasa bingung.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Nomina Majemuk, Morfofonologi Bahasa itu unik, salah satunya terdapat  pada Bahasa Jepang. Keunikan tersebut terletak pada pembentukan kata majemuk dalam bahasa Jepang. Dalam pembentukannya, terkadang  kata majemuk mengalami perubahan fonem. Pada penelitian ini,  penulis memaparkan 3 rumusan masalah yaitu, (1) Apa unsur pembentuk nomina majemuk bahasa Jepang ditinjau dari segi morfofonologi. (2)Bagaimana perubahan fonemis yang terjadi pada nomina majemuk. (3) Apakonstruksi pembentuk makna pada nomina majemuk. Penelitian dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif ini, memakai sumber data berupa nomina majemuk yang terdapat pada novel Shinrei Tantei Yakumo Volume 1 Chapter 1 karya Manabu Kaminaga. Proses analisis yang dilakukan berupa 1 klasifikasi terhadap kata, pengolahan data, serta menguraikan data. Hasil analisis data-data yang diperoleh menunjukan, sejumlah 29 kata majemuk  yang termasuk ke dalam  nomina majemuk diperoleh 4 nomina majemuk terbentuk dari adjektiva dan nomina, 1 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari adjektiva dan verba, 1 nomina majemuk terbentuk dari adverbia dan nomina, 1 nomina majemuk terbentuk nomina dan adjektiva, 8 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari nomina dan nomina, 5 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari nomina dan verba, dan 9 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari verba dan nomina. Hasil  analisis proses morfofonologi diperoleh 4 proses fonemis yaitu, asimilasi dengan perubahan fonem /k/- /g/, /t/- /d/, /s/-/z/, /ts/-/dz/. Disimilasi dengan perubahan fonem /h/-/b/, /f/-/b/, /s/-/j/. Penyisipan fonem khusus /Q/ serta proses fonemis gabungan antara asimilasi, disimilasi dan penyisipan fonem khusus /Q/. Sedangkan hasil analisis konstruksi pembentuk makna nomina majemuk diperoleh 25 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari konstruksi makna endosentris dan 4 nomina majemuk yang terbentuk dari konstruksi makna eksosentris.Menyarankan peneliti selanjutnya tidak perlu khawatir untuk melakukan kajian penelitian yang serupa, dengan kajian yang sama yaitu morfofonologi dengan obyek penelitian yang berbeda berupa kata gairaigo, kata yang mengalami proses afiksasi ataupun reduplikasi.

Abstract

Keywords: Autistic Children, Learning difficulties, Teaching Speaking.Almost all children with autism have abnormality and or developmental disorders appear before the age of three years with type characteristics not normally in three areas:  social interaction, communication, and behavior repeated as defined. The impairments which exist in autistic children will affect their learning process also. Therefore becoming aware of learning difficulties faced by autistic children and getting the necessary help early can become the key to an autistic child’s future. The researcher focuses on kind of learning difficulties faced by autistic children in case of learning English in speaking skill, kind of teaching difficulties faced by teacher in case of teaching English speaking skill for autistic children, and also focuses on kind of teaching strategies which are used by SD Muhammadiyah 4 to overcome the learning difficulties faced by autistic children. This study used qualitative approach. The subject being investigated was an autistic child on the third grade at SD Muhammadiyah 4. The data were obtained from observation in IIIB class and in the participant’s house. In answering the second and the third of problem of the study, the researcher also interviewed the teacher and the parents of the student. The result reveals that there are learning difficulties faced by autistic children such as having poor concentration, difficulties in memorizing vocabulary, having a low confidence, having less eye contact, having inability to make a good interaction with others, difficulties in understanding complex sentence, and difficulties in communication. Meanwhile, teaching difficulties such as the difficulty in making communication with the autistic child, difficulty in teaching vocabulary, and difficulty to make student focus on the lesson. The teaching media used by the teacher some visual aids, video, and English song. The teaching strategies include drilling, Donkey Bridge, speech therapy, interviews activity, and describing picture.The researcher suggests the school to add the number of teacher in class in order to maximize the teaching process. For the teacher, they should read more references deals with autistic children. For the parents, they should keep updates to their child’s condition and give them a routine therapy. For further researcher, they can investigate the teaching strategies used in teaching other English skills such as writing, reading, and listening for autistic children.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : kesalahan berbahasa, gramatika, ~soudaSetiap bahasa mempunyai ciri tersendiri yang tidak dimiliki oleh bahasa lainnya. Begitu juga dengan verba bantu ~souda dalam bahasa Jepang yang memiliki dua jenis, yakni denbun dan youtai. Keduanya memiliki aturan yang berbeda, sehingga mahasiswa sering melakukan kesalahan untuk merubah bentuk kata dalam gramatika ~souda tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penulis mengadakan penelitian mengenai kesalahan gramatika ~souda pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2013. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menjawab dua rumusan masalah yaitu (1) Kesalahan bentuk gramatika ~souda apa yang dilakukan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2013 Universitas Brawijaya dan (2) Termasuk jenis kesalahan gramatika ~souda apakah yang dilakukan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2013 Universitas Brawijaya.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian campuran (mixed methods research). Data yang digunakan merupakan  hasil tes yang diujikan kepada 20 responden, yang sebelumnya telah dihitung validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis di lakukan dengan cara menghitung persentase kesalahan gramatika dan jenis kesalahan berbahasa yang dilakukan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2013. Kemudian memuat data dalam tabel dan mendeskripsikan hasilnya berdasarkan tabel tersebut.Dari penelitian tersebut, ditemukan kesalahan gramatika souda jenis denbun yang meliputi kata kerja (6%), kata sifat-i (13%), kata sifat-na (8%), kata benda (27%) dan kesalahan gramatika souda jenis youtai yang meliputi kata kerja (18%), kata sifat-i (11%), kata sifat-na (17%). Selain itu, jenis kesalahan berbahasa yang dilakukan oleh responden adalah kesalahan penghilangan (omission) sebesar 29%, kesalahan penambahan (addition) sebesar 26%, kesalahan salah formasi (misformation) sebesar 45%.Peneliti menyarankan kepada pengajar untuk menjelaskan materi souda secara lebih detail dan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif. Sedangkan, pemelajar diharapkan untuk lebih sering berlatih soal-soal souda. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat menemukan kesalahan gramatika souda dengan objek yang berbeda, seperti komik atau film.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Fukushi, Surat kabar online, dan Asahi ShimbunDalam mempelajari suatu bahasa pasti kita akan mengenal kata. Kata adalah satuan terkecil yang membentuk kalimat. Dalam kelas kata pasti kita akan mengenal kata keterangan atau adverbia dan ini penting untuk dipelajari. Di dalam penelitian ini maka penggunaan fukushi yang digunakan sebagai objek penelitian.Dari latar belakang tersebut, maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) Termasuk jenis apakah fukushi yang digunakan dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015 (2) Bagaimana fungsi penggunaan fukushi dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, yaitu metode yang hasilnya berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti itu sendiri dan data yang dihasilkan berupa kalimat-kalimat deskriptif dari hasil penelitian. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015.Di dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015 tersebut, ditemukan 79 kalimat yang mengandung fukushi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ditemukan 2 kalimat jootai no fukushi, 76 kalimat teido no fukushi, dan 1 kalimat chinjitsu no fukushi (2) pada jootai no fukushi berfungsi menerangkan verba berikutnya, untuk teido no fukushi hampir semua berfungsi menerangkan tingkat atau taraf yoogen, hanya beberapa yang berfungsi menerangkan nomina dan chinjitsu no fukushi adalah fukushi yang memerlukan cara pengucapan khusus.Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fukushi yang sering di gunakan dalam penulisan surat kabar yaitu Asahi Shimbun adalah teido no fukushi. Adapun saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya adalah melakukan penelitian dengansumber yang berbeda misalnya dari film ataupun karya sastra yang lain.

Keywords: children’s literature, adults agenda, fairytale, The Two Sisters.In writing children’s literature, adults frequently convey the adults agenda to create well-behaved children. One of popular genres of children’s literature is fairytale. Beyond the magical and adventure inside fairytale, the adults agenda exist in this genre. Perry Nodelman, a scholar of children’s literature gives his statement regarding to position of adults in children’s literature. Nodelman explains that actually adults colonize children covertly in children’s literature.This research is focused to find the adults agenda in The Two Sisters fairytale written by Flora Annie Steel. This research is analyzed using qualitative method. In this research, the data are collected by reading The Two Sisters fairytale. Children’s literature theory by Nodelman is the effective theory to analyze the relation of adults and children in children’s literature. Moreover, the adults agenda can be identified using this theory.The result of this research is there are two big adults agendas found in The Two Sisters fairytale. The first agenda is to dictate children to be good in family and society. The second agenda is to show the position of adults, that adults are strong whereas children are weak. The second adults agenda consist of three sub agendas. The second adults agenda also dictate that it is dangerous for children to have their own desire. Besides, children are dictated to depend on adults, and children are convinced they are weak than adults.Fairytale as one genre of children’s literature cannot be separated from the adults agenda. The existence of the agendas is to make the readers good by learning something from it. Adults believe that the agendas in fairytale are created by adults for the kindness of children. It is to create the ideal characteristic of children based on adult’s standard. It means, the agendas from adults to children are to fulfill the desire of adults. The writer suggests to the next study to analyze the other genres of children’s literature. However, there are many theories in critizing children’s literature. It is suggested to apply Deconstruction theory for the next study to crticize the appearances of the main characters in children’s literature who run out from the stereotypes.

Abstract

Key words: speech act, illocutionary act, Facebook, Joko Widodo Facebook fan pageThis study investigates the illocutionary act in the postings of Joko Widodo in Joko Widodo Facebook fan page during his campaign period. There are 2 problems of study namely (1) What are the types of illocutionary acts used in Joko Widodo Facebook fan page ?; (2) What is the dominant type of illocutionary act in Joko Widodo Facebook fan page ?This study used qualitative research design. The data were taken from Joko Widodo Facebook fan page. Specifically, the data were the postings of the Facebook fan page during his campaign from 5 June 2014 until 5 July 2014. The theory of Searle (1979) was employed to figure out the illocutionary acts in the postings of Joko Widodo Facebook fan page.The results of this study showed that all types of illocutionary act were found, except declaratives. There were 27 sentences containing assertives, 21 sentences containing directives, 15 sentences containing commisives, 22 sentences containing expressives, and 4 sentences containing more than one type of illocutionary act. Based on the analysis, assertives were the most frequently used act, followed by expressives, directives, and commisives.To conclude, Joko Widodo often made assertive sentence to attract attention of Indonesian people by his strong statements and assessments. Therefore, he succeeded to achieve supports from people of Indonesian and become the president of Republic of Indonesia.The writer suggests the next reseacher who wants to conduct the similar research to use another subject and scope. For example, in terms of scope the writer suggests to expand the scope such as figuring the perlocutionary act as well.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Film The Wolf Children, Single Mother, Sosiologi SastraFilm The Wolf Children ini menceritakan tentang kehidupan Hana sebagai seorang single mother yang harus membesarkan kedua anaknya. Sebagai single mother, Hana memiliki peran dan tugas yang harus dijalankan dalam membesarkan anak-anaknya seperti layaknya keluarga yang utuh.Skripsi ini membahas tentang gambaran single mother pada tokoh Hana dalam film The Wolf Children. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra menurut Ian Watt, yaitu sastra sebagai cerminan masyarakat. Selain itu, penulis juga menggunakan teori pendukung yakni teori penokohan dan mise en scene untuk menganalisis film The Wolf Children.Skripsi ini membahas 4 gambaran single mother pada tokoh Hana dalam membesarkan kedua anaknya, yaitu Hana sebagai single mother dalam pemberian kasih sayang kepada anaknya, pemberi nafkah dengan cara bekerja, peran dalam mendidik tingkah laku anak, dan sebagai pelindung keluarga dapat menemukan solusi mengenai masalah kesehatan.Penulis menyarankan untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggunakan film The Wolf Children dengan pendekatan yang berbeda, salah satunya dengan menggunakan pendekatan psikoanalisis untuk menganalisis psikologi single mother dalam film tersebut.
