Abstract

COVID-19 telah menyebabkan kecemasan pada masyarakat yang timbul dari emosi dan persepsi yang negatif terkait wabah COVID-19. Informasi yang simpang siur dan kebijakan penanganan COVID-19 yang tidak jelas dari pemerintah memunculkan pandangan negatif dari masyarakat dan menurunkan tingkat kepercayaan terhadap Pemerintah saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah persepsi, emosi dan perilaku tentang COVID-19 berpengaruh terhadap sikap politik masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain survei di mana data-data dalam penelitian ini melakukan analisis dengan menghitung secara statistik dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25.0. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa masyarakat merasa cemas akan COVID-19, karena dapat membahayakan kesehatan keluarga dan teman terdekat serta berharap wabah COVID-19 segera berakhir dan dapat diatasi. Selanjutnya, efek dari kecemasan tersebut menimbulkan perubahan sikap politik di mana masyarakat merasa peristiwa wabah COVID-19 memunculkan sikap politik kurang percaya dan ketidaksukaan terhadap pemerintah dan bisa menimbulkan peluang untuk melakukan perubahan sosial di Indonesia. Dari hasil uji regresi juga mendapatkan bahwa persepsi, emosi dan perilaku berpengaruh terhadap sikap politik masyarakat. Kontribusi penelitian ini memberikan masukan kepada pemerintah dan masyarakat serta para aktor politik bagaimana kecemasan terkait informasi dan penanganan COVID-19 bisa berpengaruh terhadap sikap politik.

Abstract

Wacana Pemerintah Indonesia memindahkan Ibu Kota Negara masih menjadi perbincangan diberbagai kalangan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara Media massa dalam hal ini adalah Tempo.co dan Mediaindonesia.com mengkonstruksi pemberitaan terkait Undang-undang Ibu Kota Negara. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis framing yang dikemukakan oleh Zhongdang Pan dan Geralad M Kosickly. Cara teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan mengumpulkan pemberitaan terkait UU IKN di media massa (Tempo.co dan Mediaindonesia.com). Tahapan berikutnya menganalisis berita tersebut dengan Teknik analisis Framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M Kosickly, di mana model analisis ini digunakan untuk mengetahui realitas yang dibentuk dibalik wacana atau framing dari media massa. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa media memiliki kebijakan redaksi masing-masing dalam hal pemberitaan yang mempengaruhi keberpihakan sebuah media sesuai dengan kepentingan media tersebut, hal ini menimbulkan konstruksi dan realitas yang berbeda dalam pemberitaan di media massa. Penelitian ini akan memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang bagaimana media massa menggunakan framing (bingkai pemberitaan) dalam melaporkan isu-isu terkait UU IKN.

Abstract

This article compares the social media strategies and engagement metrics utilized by two prominent creative cities, Singapore and Bandung. Singapore and Bandung are creative cities using different social media techniques and measurements. This research examined how the Singapore Design Council and Bandung Creative City Forum used social media to brand their cities. This research further analyzes social media in terms of reach and sentiment. The study adopted descriptive and social media analyses. The purpose was to obtain social media strategies and compare their social media channels, mentions, reach, and sentiment. The research findings show that Singapore's leading creative city branding platform is Instagram, proposing a more focused strategy. Bandung communicates with its numerous online citizens via Instagram and Twitter. Bandung generates more social media mentions and reaches, indicating a more active and engaged online community. Despite this, Singapore's social media sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, reflecting a solid and favorable perception of the city as a creative center. In addition, the study emphasizes the significance of platform selection and content diversity when developing social media strategies. This comparative analysis contributes to a comprehension of the effective use of social media for creative city branding. The study informs stakeholders in Singapore and Bandung about the strengths, limitations, and opportunities of their social media engagement. By utilizing these findings, policymakers, urban planners, and creative industry professionals can enhance their efforts to promote their cities as thriving creative centers.

Abstract

This study is a critical perspective in exploring changes in social, cultural and political forms related to the development of contemporary communication technology. The main theme of this research is YouTube's digital space with the topic of utilizing the main features of geo-tagging, hashtags and live streaming. Researchers observed three content creators in utilizing the features of the digital platform to carry out social interactions and actions. The purpose of this study is to explain that the character of the users and the current use of digital platforms is a representation of the interaction and socio-cultural situation of contemporary society as a part of the digital ecosystem. This research is qualitative in nature with specific observations on micro phenomena, so the results are not generalizations, but in the form of data findings to support the hypothesis, namely the importance of a critical perspective of digital ecology to explain contemporary digital ecosystem phenomena. This article is supported by comparative descriptions and descriptions of the development of several theoretical models as well as social-technological changes that have occurred before. This research contributes to providing an important perspective that media and technology studies must move from discussions about human and technology interactions, to discussions about human interactions in technology. As a study of ongoing phenomena, the researcher places this research by opening up to the potential for the latest changes that can occur along with technological developments.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the important activities that helps aspects of community economic development. Tourism development policies must be supported by all parties so that they can run optimally. The existence of tourism development is able to become an economic driver with the emergence of new jobs for the community, besides that the development of tourism can also prevent environmental damage and loss of local culture, so that later it is hoped that the community will become more aware of tourism activities. Community involvement in tourism development is known as Community Based Tourism (CBT). The success of developing a tourist village itself is largely determined by the potential for tourism attraction that must be owned by the village, one of which is the development of indigenous people-based tourism. This research was conducted using qualitative research through in-depth interviews. The stages in this study include three stages, namely: the pre-research stage to identify problems, objectives and research flow through literature study, then carry out the observation and interview stages to identify challenges and support for the Traditional Tourism Village model, Ngadas Village, Malang Regency, and finally is the final stage where the researcher will map and formulate the design of a tourist village model. The results of the study are that Empowerment of the Ngadas tourism village involves Community Based Tourism (CBT), namely Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) and Bumdes of Ngadas Village through the village's local potential which is staged to become an attractive treat for tourists to come visit.

Abstract

Spotlight movie explains about investigation journalist activities on The Boston Globe office. Editor in chief of The Boston Globe interests in the case of childhood sexual abuse in the US. While the team investigates it, they encounter many obstacles on the field. They get the threat and intimidate from any parts. The key sources do not want to talk about the incident. They do not provide important data about this case. In the end, Spotlight team managed to uncover the truth. Their investigation was successful and also get a Pulitzer award. This research use hierarchy of needs theory to analyze the motivations of investigative journalist. The hierarchy of needs illustrates the level of a person’s needs, start from psychological needs; safety needs; love and belonging needs; self-esteem; and self-actualization. This research also uses Ferdinand de Saussure theory to analyze signs, signifiers and signified that indicate about fulfillment needed of humans. The findings of this study show that Spotlight journalist has reached the highest human needs, namely self-actualization. Investigation journalists have big motivation to occur the optimal work as a social warrior to reveal facts and uphold justice.

Abstract

Hoaxes are a perilous byproduct of huge technology advancements, particularly the rise of social media. Using Twitter as an example, it is one of the most popular social media platforms for information sharing, communication, and entertainment. As a consequence, Twitter users may readily propagate fake or hoax information. The aim of this study is to find public opinion about hoaxes derived from Twitter user conversations around COVID-19. This study makes use of Twitter data obtained from Drone Emprit Academic. This study examined all processed tweets and surveyed public opinion on "Hoaks" (including mentions, retweets, and replies). The DEA engine analyzes the word frequency and mood of Twitter users to determine if a predominant emotion is good, negative, or neutral. According to the study results, netizens remarked on the COVID-19, alleging that the appearance of the Delta type variation was caused by the vaccination, not the virus. They do not regularly check facts owing to boredom, laziness, and reliance on just one source of information verification. Furthermore, only information that corresponds to their interests and needs will be approved. Thus, via discourse about Hoax, social media allows the formation of a platform for mutual understanding, sharing, and dynamically debating the meaning of demonstrations. This research provides a contribution to the disclosure of information about public opinion towards a discourse discussed on Twitter with the help of a DEA engine.

Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial berbasis internet membuat peran media sosial saat ini semakin meningkat secara signifikan, terutama di bidang politik. Bahkan, elektabilitas suatu partai dapat dipengaruhi oleh impresi publik yang dibentuk oleh media sosial. Dari fenomena tersebut, penulis secara khusus tertarik untuk mengkaji program dan strategi media sosial twitter dan facebook dari partai Gerindra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana penggunaan media sosial oleh partai Gerindra mempengaruhi citra dan dukungan publik terhadap partai tersebut. Penelitian ini sendiri menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi analisis wacana yang mengadaptasi logika media sosial dari Van Dijk-Poell yakni programabilitas, popularitas, konektivitas, dan datafikasi ke dalam komunikasi politik yang dilakukan Gerindra melalui media sosialnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gerindra dengan baik telah mengimplementasikan logika media sosial dalam strategi pemasaran politiknya. Partai ini juga berhasil menciptakan ikatan yang kuat serta menarik perhatian publik, khususnya generasi muda, yang kemudian menjadi manifestasi dalam pemilu 2024 mendatang. Strategi ini menghasilkan tren positif bagi partai, hasil beberapa survei pada tahun 2021 menunjukkan bahwa kaum milenial dan Generasi Z lebih cenderung memilih Prabowo (Ketua Umum Gerindra) sebagai presiden. Seiring dengan dominasi media sosial, konsep logika media sosial menjadi suatu hal yang tidak dapat ditinggalkan bagi para aktor politik. Terakhir, dengan kemajuan teknologi, diperkirakan persaingan partai politik digital di media sosial akan semakin ketat pada tahun 2024.

Abstract

Mobile journalism has been a mainstay in some news media outlets as audiences migrate to smaller screens for news. In response to the competitive media environment, organizations embrace mobile technology to expand the scope of their content. This article employs emerging perspectives as one of the organizational theory approaches. This study aims to determine the process behind news stories created by mobile journalists depending on their institution, the current circumstances, and technological advances. This study compares mobile journalists from two different news YouTube channels in Indonesia. Researchers collected data by observing news videos and interviewing news editors. The result showed that rules upheld by the media organizations would determine their productivity, the topic of news stories, and the quality of news sources. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the news creation process as they had to work remotely. In addition, it is worth noting that mobile journalists must shoot and edit videos and have a multimedia mindset. This study suggests that a newsroom must have stricter rules and guidelines as it will be the main factor in producing news videos on YouTube channels. Journalists should also be prepared to adopt digital technology to cope with unprecedented situations.

Abstract

Era digitalisasi melahirkan beragam cara baru komunikasi termediasi yang lebih mudah dan ramah digunakan. Akibatnya, informasi global dengan cepat masuk dan mengikis budaya tradisional Indonesia. Tetap mengemas dalam bentuk media modern, Raditya Bramantya (Bramsky) membuat konten video yang diselingi unsur budaya tradisional Indonesia dengan semangat pelestarian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana proses penerapan unsur budaya tradisional dalam karya Bramsky. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitiatif dengan wawancara mendalam dan analisis konten video. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Bramsky menerapkan unsur budaya tradisional dengan fleksibel dan porsi yang terbatas. Pertimbangan budaya dan konsumsi khalayak memainkan peranan penting dalam proses produksi konten video. Hibridasi antara unsur budaya tradisional dengan modern menjadi kunci Bramsky untuk memikat audiens. Tetapi, Bramsky tidak menerapkan Pakem budaya secara lengkap.
