Abstract

Expansion in mortar or concrete could happen due to chemical reaction inside it. Some various proportion of reactives aggregate with non reactive aggregates were combined to get maximum expansion in mortar. Mortar without combining aggregates was also made to find out its reactivity. Mortar was cast based on JIS A 1146. Mortar specimens were cured in controlled room with temperature 40 O C dan Relative Humidity 100 O C. The Results showed that when reactive aggregates were used in proportion 30:70 with non reactive aggregates then the expansion was maximum.

Abstract

The design of a column is performed particularly to prevent any excessive deformation when it is used to support working load, and still have sufficient safety and reserve strength to withstand the load and stress without experiencing the collapse. The process of design or analysis generally begins with a compliant againt flexure, and the other requirements such as shear, crack, anchorage length were so that all requirment satisfied. The aim of this research is to get the stress of reinforced concrete column using the finite element method, so that it can get an evaluation of the design of reinforced concrete columns by comparing the stress design with the stress obtained from the finite element method. The calculations result shown that the enlargement deflection in horizontal direction is greater than the value of the enlargement deflection in vertical direction, that cause of the influence of axial forced and bending moment. From the results of stress analysis in steel and concrete by using the finite element method has a value less than fy and f'c used in the design. This shows the reinforced concrete column can withstand a greater load than the load value which was assumed the column on the balance condition

Abstract

Asphalt concrete is a road construction materials that have long been known and widely used in road construction. AC-BC is one of the three kinds of asphalt concrete mix that is AC-WC, AC-BC, and AC-Base. The use of AC-BC is one part of the pavement which serves as a layer between the maximum load bearing due to traffic loads. In general, a mixture of pavement materials AC-BC is composed of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler and asphalt. This study aimed to know the ef- fect of the addition of Low Density Poly plastic types Ethilene (LDPE) on the quality of recycled asphalt mixture AC-BC, in terms of the Marshall parameters based on the specification of High - ways, 2010. The study was carried out experimentally in the laboratory with LDPE levels as much as 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% of the weight of the asphalt used to mix the two methods are the dry way and the wet way. The test results stated that the asphalt mixture with the addition of plastics with levels of 5% yield optimum performance if the terms of the strength, the stability of the value of 1360.06 kg (dry method) and 1398.77 kg (wet method), but overall the addition of plastic LDPE as a substitute ingredient mix asphalt on both the dry way and the wet way, giving the effect of an increase in the quality of hot mix asphalt.

Abstract

Way Besai River's catchment area is used as agricultural, tourism, and hydroelectrica power plant (PLTA) purposes. PLTA Way Besai was built for generating electrical power using the height of a waterfall from Way Besai River, however nowadays PLTA Way Besai is having a decrease of electrical power because of the now happening drought. The power decrease reached until 40 MW while it used to have 90 MW power supply causing only a rough 50 MW energy power left to be operated. The metode that is used in estimating the value of sediment discharge is by using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method and Measured Sediment Analysis. From the analysis results, the overall value of sediment was attained by merging the value of suspended load and bed load which is 170528,443 m 3 /year. The value of seddiment that is attained from USLE methode is 105520,738 m 3 /year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the decline in clay, by comparing the reduction in soft clay soil of the village Belimbing Sari and organic clay from the village of Beteng Sari, using concrete reinforcement mats and bamboo poles to increase the carrying capacity of the land, because the clay when getting the imposition of the will experience a significant drop. This research was conducted by making test Boks modeling land subsidence, and perform impairment testing ground that has been given concrete reinforcement using a bamboo mat with a pole on soft clay soil of the village Belimbing Sari and organic clay from the village of Beteng Sari. Using weights ranging from 0.2 kg/cm2, 0.3 kg/cm2, 0.4 kg/cm2, 0.5 kg/cm2. Testing was conducted on the impairment testing ground to seek consolidation coefficient (Cv), congestion coefficient of volume (Mv), compression index (Cc) and coefficient of compression (Av). Based on the research results, the test box, the decline in clay is lower than the original soil testing, this happens because the test soil reinforcement box has been given a concrete form bamboo mat with a pole. From this it can be concluded that the carrying capacity of the clay to get better after being given reinforcement.

Abstract

This study aims to find a right formula of asphalt concrete binder course (AC-BC) hotmix by adding the ash of lokan’s shell (ACL), red brick powder (SBM) and anti stripping agent. Chemical analysis for ACL and SBM used SEM-EDX analysis. Hotmix sample testing used Marshall method. The results showed that the ACL contains 34,77% carbon and 65,23% calcium oxide. SBM was containing 34,09% alumina, 42,55% silica dioxide, 0,73% potassium oxide, 1,98% titanium (IV) oxide and 20,65% ferrous oxide. The addition of filler ACL SBM 50% + 50% from 10% cement filler; the ingredient of anti stripping agent wetfix was 0,3% optimum asphalt content (OAC), increasing the value of stability and flow mix AC-BC amounted to 51,5% and 41,5%. Anova test results showed that the value of F for stability is of 9,21, the value of F for flow amounted to 19,19. Ftable at 99% confidence level refers to the value of 7,82. This proves that the addition of ash shell seashell, red brick powder and additive anti sloughing have significant effect on the stability and flow value mix AC-BC. Durability and flexibility of road construction types AC-BC for the better.
