Abstract

The role of the Wae Batu Gajah watershed which has a function to regulate water management and as a water source is currently starting to experience a very significant change with the rate of change of forest land cover into settlements which ultimately destroys the sustainability of the ecological function. This damage can be proven by the phenomenon of flooding and that occurs in the rainy season and drought in the dry season. The analysis of the sustainability of the Wae Batu Gajah watershed has the following objectives: 1). Analyzing the index and sustainability status of the Wae Batu Gajah watershed from the ecological, economic and social dimensions. 2). Testing the validity and testing the accuracy of the sustainability index of the Wae Batu Gajah watershed management. The results of the study show that the multidimensional sustainability index for the three ecological, economic and social dimensions is 50.97% in the moderately sustainable category. The validation test shows the difference in the value of the Monte Carlo and MDS analysis at the 95% confidence level the average for the three dimensions is 0.72%; the value of determination (R 2 ) between 93.86% - 95.18% means that the sustainability index estimation model is good and adequate; stress value 0.2 which means that the MDS analysis model obtained has a high accuracy (g oodness of fit ) to assess the sustainability index of the Wae Batu Gajah watershed.

This study aims to reveal the dynamics of the life of the Serawai people in Bengkulu in farming. The dynamics of a cultivator's life cannot be separated from the cultivation process he does. Farming activities are the core of cultivator's life all the time, which takes place from the preparation process to the utilization of their field products. The method used in this research is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The data collection used is observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that: 1) Farming in the Serawai people in Bengkulu is the essence of life. Cultivators adapt their life activities to natural conditions, especially soil, seasons and weather as well as social conditions. Land is the most important element in the agricultural production system of the Serawai people. New land is very difficult to obtain now, so gradually it forces cultivators to change their cultivation process. Cultivators believe in natural phenomena is very high, as well as belief in supernatural powers. Farming activities are closely related to the dynamics of the social life of the Serawai people. A system of mutual cooperation and mutual assistance is needed so that work can take place more efficiently; 2) The process of farming for the Serawai people in Bengkulu is carried out through the stages of clearing land, slashing, cutting, building cottages, burning land, planting, maintaining plants, harvesting, distributing and utilizing the results. This study concludes that the dynamics of the life of Serawai cultivators are reciprocally related to the cultivation process, where social life causes the ongoing cultivation process and the farming process itself determines the social life of the community. Social life and farming processes take place dynamically all the time.

Abstract

The NGO certainly has its own way of carrying out community empowerment activities. When asked what model of empowerment was used by the three NGOs in West Sumatra, they basically built all the empowerment models, including the Rothman Empowerment model. After further investigation, the application of the Rothman empowerment model to the empowerment program carried out by NGOs was not fully implemented by the NGOs Jemari Sakato, YCM-M and LP2M. The three NGOs only used several indicators of the Rothman empowerment model in the empowerment program carried out by the NGO. For this reason, it is necessary to explain how the application of the Rothman empowerment model was carried out by the three NGOs considered that not all indicators of the empowerment model could be realized by NGOs. The purposes of this research were to describe the implementation of Rothman’s Model on every empowerment program which held by the NGOs. Abstract

This study was to understand rural communities' communication, interaction models, and literacy during the pandemic, especially issues related to social activities and worship in places of community activity. We carry out this study in a descriptive qualitative study. Our data is obtained from more than 100 legal and health science books and journal topics; we selected 50 out of 100 as a sample. We examine the study with a phenomenological approach. Data analysis involves data coding systems, in-depth data analysis, interpreting data, and providing conclusions that can answer problems with high validity. As for the results, we understand that village communities continue to interact and communicate with fellow residents by holding traditional and religious events during the pandemic emergency response period. In other words, the people in the village are undoubtedly aware of the issues and rules in responding to the pandemic. This is different in the model and literacy of its interaction with people in cities where they are ready to respond to pandemic policies. This is because the understanding and contact model of community social interaction in the village developed long before the pandemic response. Therefore, we hope the results of this study will be helpful for similar studies in the future.

Abstract

The concept of the present and the sense of comfort offered by the coffee shop bring in various visitors in terms of age, children, teenagers, adults, and even the elderly. Visitors in terms of work, both from junior high school, high school/vocational school students, university students, private employees, civil servants, and from various other types of work are happy to visit. The purpose of this study was to conduct a social network analysis of coffee shop visitors in Indonesia. The postmodern concept of consumption is related to the realization that consumption appears more significant at sign value or symbolic qualities than use value. The research method used is qualitative netnography. The data is obtained from uploads on the Twitter application with the help of Atlas. ti application. Because it uses network analysis, tweets that are not related to other tweets will be excluded from the study. The results showed that Twitter users went to a coffee shop to do work while drinking coffee; conduct watching events together, either football, moto GP, or other similar matches; perform social activities with the closest people, and want to eat their favorite food. The results of the word cloud analysis obtained several words that appear and are often used by coffee shop visitors on Twitter applications such as warkop, nongkrong, ngopi, kopi, ngobrol, kerja, makan, teh, lagu, nongki, and many other words. The novelty of this study lies in the approach used, namely netnography so that the data obtained reaches a wider range of data.
