Abstract

One of the ecological problems on the Serang Coast is the degradation of mangrove ecosystems. Coastal communities suffer various losses due to damage to mangrove ecosystems. Mangrove degradation is triggered by the people's ignorance in utilizing mangrove ecosystems in a sustainable manner. for this reason, preventive solutions through environmental education are needed to increase the understanding of coastal communities about importance of the mangrove ecosystems through eco-literacy. The research method used Research and Development by Borg and Gall (2008). The result of this study was learning media for the mangrove eco-literacy storytelling which has been through feasibility testing and field trials. The feasibility testing resulted 83.34 % with a very good category. Field trials showed that there was a significant effect with the pretest and post-test based on the t-test 0.02 < p = 0.05 which means that users of mangrove eco-literacy storytelling influences to increase of mangrove eco-literacy students. The conclusions show that eco-literacy of mangrove storytelling media is very feasible to use for the learning process and mangrove eco-literacy storytelling is proven to be able to improve the ability of eco-literacy mangroves of students in environmental theme learning at SDN Lontar 2 - Serang.

Abstract

The high level of APSI in Jakarta and surrounding regions has been categorized as an unhealthy level of air pollution, which can consequently affect the level of public health. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of APSI pollution level from the previous period as well as the influence of APSI level on other regions from the previous period that are neighboring. VAR modeling approach used which had advantages in considering changes in data behavior over time and can also be used to explains the interaction between a number of variables. APSI level data in West Jakarta region and North Jakarta region have been stationary which are indicated by the significance of the ADF test. The analysis results found that the simultaneous testing of VAR model was significant with p-value <0.05 which can be concluded that the APSI level in West Jakarta was influenced by APSI level in the previous period and was also influenced by APSI level of North Jakarta in the previous period. Similarly, the level of APSI level of North Jakarta was influenced by APSI level in the previous period and was also influenced by APSI level of West Jakarta in the previous period.

Incidence of adolescent marriages in South Kalimantan is still high and acts an obstacle to maturing the marriage age program. This paper aims to analyze the dominant factors which contribute to the maturity of women’s marriages by modifying the social ecological framework theory. This survey study had 180 respondents with 113 women who were married under 19 years and 47 respondents who were married at 19-30 years, while the anlaysis was using bivariate and multivariate analysis. The variables used refer to the social ecological framework theory and there are 2 variables used here, namely individuals (education and  work status) and interpersonal (father’s education, father’s occupation and the economy of the respondent’s previous household). The results of the bivariate analysis are in line with social ecological framework theory. Furthermore, the results of multivariate analysis show that all of these variables are 35.7 percent influencing the adolescent marriages. Based on multivariate analysis, the most influential determinants on adolescent marriages are respondents from poor households before marriage, father’s working in agriculture, respondents do not work, fathers do not graduate from elementary school and respondents have low education.

Abstract

Tidal flooding is one of many disasters caused by climate change. Semarang is one of coastal areas that is affected by climate change which brings tidal flooding in some coastal communities especially Tanjung Mas community in North Semarang. The flood is driven by sea level rise and subsidence. Tidal flooding distrupts the communities of Tanjung Mas in term of physical destruction and enviromental destruction. The disruptions are also affecting both their social and economic activities. The secondary data were collected by doing survey in some instutions who already had the data about tidal flooding. After the data were analyzed by using SPSS with cross tabulation analysis, it shows that the period of residency is ( ) 26,543 > ( ) with statistical significance 5%:11,070. Meanwhile, the level of education is ( ) 42,285  > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The livelihood is ( ) 17,616 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The level of income is ( ) 22,196 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The level of knowledge is ( ) 13, 328 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,488. Those results show that the five factors are the cause of Tanjung Mas community’s reluctance to move from the coastal area and to stay in this tidal risk area.
