Abstract

This study aims to describe the Baitul Maal Wattamwil (BMT) industrial attractiveness in the city of Metro Lampung. For this purpose, this study uses a multiple case study approach on 10 BMTs in Metro Lampung. Data collection was conducted by in-depth interviews and supported by the Industrial Attractiveness Matrix (MDTI) as an analytical tool. The results showed several factors that are considered important for industrial attractiveness. Those are (in order): the profitability of the industry, the competition structure, and industry cycle. While some of the decisive factors of business strength for the BMT industry are (in order): the company's image, cash flow, and product / service quality. The results of the analysis showed that generally, the industrial attractiveness of BMT in Metro city is in the phase of decreasing. The main factor which causes this condition is the decreasing of the public trust, which is caused by the growth failure from many BMTs in Metro. It is also followed by the emergence of substitute products named micro financing from industrial banking with lower rate interest compared to BMT products. A unique finding in this study is that the legal factors are not considered as the industrial support (NO GO). It is because the law supervision in BMT is not strict enough, which makes the establishment for new BMTs is become easier. Ultimately, many BMTs are failed to grow (bankrupt) or related to customer fund fraud cases. These conditions have an impact on the decreasing level of consumer trust. Finally, the corporate image is a key to success and to survive in this industry. The preferred strategies in this condition are a selective growth and wait for an improvement of the industrial conditions.Keywords — The Industrial Attractiveness Matrix (MDTI), Baitul Mall Wattamwil (BMT).

Abstract

IIB Darmajaya is one of the private universities in Lampung province. IBI Darmajaya has become the technologyand business-based university and dominated the marketplace in Bandar Lampung. The problem statement of this research was that the employee performance in IBI Darmajaya was not optimum. The variablesof this research were the leadership, training, reward, and punishment. The objective of this research was to determine the leadership, training, reward and punishment on the employee performance so that the researcher needed to know to what extent the correlation of the leadership, training, reward and punishment on the employeeperformance. The sampling technique used in this research was non-random sampling technique. The population of this research was 215 employees. The sample used in this research was 68 employees. The data collecting technique used in this research was questionnaire. The results of this research showedwas that the leadership, training, reward and punishment were the most important variables to improve the employee performance because all of these variables had a significant effect.Keywords : Leadership, Training, Reward, Punishment and Performance

Abstract

Many investors have problems in choosing investment instruments with returns and risks in accordance with the wishes of investors. One investment that can be chosen by the investors is mutual funds. This study aims to evaluate the performance of stock mutual funds and determine the impact of interest rates on stock mutual funds. This research was carried out during 2013-2017. The analysis use Analysis Regression. The results of the analysis indicate that during 2013-2015 the performance of stock mutual funds was below the interest rate, but during 2016-2017 the performance of stock mutual funds fluctuated and several times outperformed interest rates. The test results show that the interest rate variable has a significant negative effect on Stock Mutual Funds. This shows that interest rates have a negative influence on the performance of stock mutual funds, this means that when the government increases interest rates, the performance of stock mutual funds decreases, and vice versa, when interest rates decrease, the performance of stock mutual funds increases. The cause of the reduction in net asset value of stock mutual funds in the short term when interest rates increase, due to an increase in interest rates makes the majority of people shift their funds from stock mutual funds to savings or time deposits.Keywords : Mutual Funds Performance, Interest Rate.

Abstract

The purpose of this research aims to analyze and describe influence between variables that used in this research. The object of the study used 151 students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UM Metro as random sampling. The data are collected using questionnaires and observation Data analysis in this study is included in quantitative and qualitative research. Research analysis uses Structural Equity Modeling (SEM). The collected data was processed with the Smart-PLS 3.0 program using a non-response bias test, data quality test, model test, hypothesis test, and variable descriptive analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurship educational and entrepreneurial interest has a significant and positive influence, environment and entrepreneurial interest has a significant and positive influence too. This shows that FEB UM Metro students have a high interest in entrepreneurship after gaining knowledge through entrepreneurship education.Keyword: Entrepreneurship, Educational, Environment, Entrepreneur Interest.
