Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya kontribusi tidak langsung dan kontribusi langsung dari motivasi, penguasaan informasi, dan persepsi mahasiswa pendidikan kimia tentang kurikulum 2013 terhadap kesiapan implementasi pada pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan expost facto. Sampel penelitian ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui angket, penilaian antar teman, serta tes. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) motivasi dan penguasaan informasi berkontribusi secara tidak langsung terhadap kesiapan implementasi kurikulum sebesar 20,2%. Kontribusi tidak langsung dari motivasi dan penguasaan informasi mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh motivasi dan penguasaan informasi terhadap persepsi. (2) motivasi, penguasaan informasi, dan persepsi mahasiswa pendidikan kimia tentang kurikulum 2013 berkontribusi langsung terhadap kesiapan implementasi kurikulum 13 pada pembelajaran, dengan kontribusi sebesar 54,8%. Hasil ini menggambarkan bahwa kesiapan mahasiswa untuk mengimplementasikan kurikulum 13 dipengaruhi oleh motivasi, penguasaan informasi, dan persepsi mahasiswa tentang kurikulum. Kata Kunci: motivasi, penguasaan informasi, persepsi, implementasi kurikulum.   CONTRIBUTION OF MOTIVATION, MASTERY OF INFORMATION, AND PERCEPTION OF CHEMISTRY EDUCATION STUDENTS TOWARDS CURRICULUM 2013 IMPLEMENTATION READINESS Abstract This research aims to find out the direct and indirect contribution of motivation, mastery of information, and chemistry education student’s perception of curriculum 2013 towards its implementation readiness in learning. This research is classified to expost facto. The sample was established using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through inventories, peer assessment and test, and than were analyzed using path analysis. The results of the study show as follows. 1) Motivation and mastery of information give indirect contribution towards implementation readiness for about 20,2%. Indirect contribution of motivation and mastery of information indicate there are the effect of motivation and mastery of information towards perception.  2) Motivation, mastery of information, and chemistry education student’s perception of curriculum 2013 given direct contribution towards implementation readiness in learning, for about 54,8%. The results show, that  the student’s readiness to implementation curriculum is affected by motivation, mastery of information, and student’s perception of curriculum. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) understand the steps of science comic development for grade V elementary school students, (2) understand the feasibility of comic science from learning aspect, materials aspect, and instructional media aspect, (3) understand the effectiveness of science comics to increase students understanding in elementary school. This is a research and development by using ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Product validation tests are carried out by material experts, learning experts, media experts, teacher response, and students respond. Product implementation is conducted on the grade V students of Muhammadiyah Ngijon 1 elementary school. Data collection is used questionnaire and test. The results showed that the assessment from media experts is 81.25 (high feasibility); from the science, material expert is 85.00 (high feasibility); from learning experts is 93.18 (high feasibility). Teachers and students in the small group obtained a value of 97.50 (high feasibility) and in large group trials obtained a value of 94.58 (high feasibility). The effectiveness of science comic is tested by  Wilcoxon signed test and the result of Z value at -3.903 on the asimp significance of 0.000 on two-tailed test. The tets result show that the significance value is smaller than alpha (0.05); then it can be concluded that "Ho is rejected and Ha accepted". It means that there are differences in students' understanding of pre-test and post-test in science learning, so it can be concluded that science comis is effective to improve the understanding

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) inkuiri terbimbing; (2) mengetahui kriteria kelayakan LKPD inkuiri terbimbing; (3) mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan LKPD yang dikembangkan, dan (4) mengetahui hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menggunakan LKPD yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development (RD). Desain uji coba produk utama menggunakan LKPD inkuiri terbimbing pada kelas VIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan LKPD dari pendidik pada kelas VIIB sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, angket, dan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian ini berupa LKPD inkuiri terbimbing yang memiliki kategori sangat baik. Hasil pengembangan dan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) karakteristik LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing meliputi tahapan membuat prediksi, melakukan penyelidikan, mengumpulkan data, menginterpretasi data, dan mengembangkan kesimpulan; (2) kriteria kelayakan LKPD inkuiri terbimbing layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA; (3) terjadi peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan total rerata gain score 0,43; dan (4) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan total rerata gain score 0,34. Developing  students worksheet on guided inquiry to improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of students AbstractThis study aims to: (1) explain the characteristics of student worksheet on guided inquiry; (2) determine the feasibility criteria of student worksheet developed; (3) determine the increase critical thinking skills using a student worksheet developed; and (4) determine learning outcomes of students using the student worksheet developed. This study was research and development (R D) which adapted the model by Borg Gall. The design of the main field testing used a student worksheet on guided inquiry in class VIIA as an experimental class and student of class VIIB as the control class. The  data were collected using observation sheets, questionnaires, and written tests. The results of this study is in the form of a student worksheet on guided inquiry whicht has very good category. Results of the development and research show that (1) the characteristics of student worksheet based on the guided inquiry covering the steps to make predictions, conduct experiments, collecting data, interpretation data, and develop conclusions; (2) The feasibility criteria of the student worksheet on guided inquiry deserves used in science teaching; (3) There is an increase in critical thinking skills of students with a total mean gain score of 0.43; and (4) There is an increase in learning outcomes of students with a total mean gain score of 0.34.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi materi larutan penyangga, persentase miskonsepsi pada setiap indikator materi larutan penyangga, dan penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi materi larutan penyangga pada siswa SMA Negeri 2 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan 80 siswa kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 SMA Negeri 2 Mataram sebagai sampel dalam penelitian yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk menganalisis miskonsepsi larutan penyangga yaitu instrumen multiple choice two tier diagnostic. Instrumen di validasi oleh expert judgment dan validasi empirik oleh 38 siswa kelas XII IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Mataram.. Hasil analisis miskonsepsi larutan penyangga menggunakan instrumen two-tier multiple choice diagnostic menunjukkan bahwa terjadi miskonsepi sebesar 47%, memahami konsep sebesar 37%, dan tidak memahami konsep sebesar 16%. Miskonsepsi terbanyak terjadi pada indikator konsep perhitungan pH larutan penyangga pada penambahan sedikit asam atau basa sejumLah 4 soal yaitu dengan rata-rata 64,08%. Miskonsepsi larutan penyangga terjadi karena guru kurang menekankan materi konsep, khususnya pada indikator larutan penyangga pada kehidupan sehari-hari, bahasa buku teks kimia yang terlalu sulit, dan siswa sendiri yang kurang fokus saat proses pembelajaran. Misconceptions on buffer solution AbstractThis study aims to determine the misconception on buffer solution, the percentage of misconceptions on each indicator, and the cause of the misconception of the student of SMA Negeri 2 Mataram.This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 80 students of class XI of physics study (IPA) 4 and XI 5 of SMAN 2 Mataram as samples determined by purposive sampling. The instrument used to analyze the misconceptions of the buffer solution is two-tier instrument diagnostic multiple choice. The instrument is validated by expert judgment and empirical validation by 38 students of class XII physic study (IPA) 2 SMA Negeri 2 Mataram. The results of the data analysis showed that there is 47% misconceptions, 37% understand and as many as 16% do not understand concept. Misconceptions occurred in the calculation of the indicator concept pH buffer solution in the addition of a small amount of acid or base in an average of 64.08%. The misconception of the buffer solution occurred because the teachers did not emphasize the concept of matter, particularly on indicators of the buffer solution in everyday life, the language of chemistry textbooks that are too difficult, and the students themselves are less focused during the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan, dan efektivitas penggunaan instrumen penilaian portofolio berbasis multiple intelligence untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah siswa SMA/MA. Prosedur pengembangan menggunakan model 4-D yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan, yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Hasil penelitian: (1) karakteristik instrumen memiliki tingkat kesukaran pada kisaran -2,00 sampai +1,41 dengan reliabilitas pada kisaran 0,00 sampai 0,97; (2) instrumen dikatakan layak ditinjau dari validitas isi, empiris, dan reliabilitas; (3) hasil pengukuran kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 4 Yogyakarta berada pada kategori sedang dan tinggi dengan kisaran sebesar 34,7% - 65,3% dan 72,2% - 78,8%, dapat dikatakatan instrumen efektif untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa; (4) hasil pengukuran sikap ilmiah siswa berada pada kategori sedang dan tinggi dengan kisaran sebesar 36% - 66% dan 71% - 94%, dapat dikatakan instrumen efektif untuk mengukur sikap ilmiah siswa. Developing portfolio assessment based on multiple intelligence instrument for measuring critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes AbstractThis development research aims to find out characteristics, feasibility, and effevtiveness of portfolio assessment based on multiple intelligence instrument for measuring critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes. This developmental study refers to the model suggested by Thiagarajan which is define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results show that: (1) the characteristics of instrumen have good difficulty level -2,00 untill +1,41 and reliability 0,00 untill 0,97; (2) instrumen is feasible in terms of the contents and empirical validity, and reliabily; (3) the measurement of students’s critical thinking skills are in the medium and high category 34,7% - 65,3% and 72,2% - 78,8%, so that an effective instrument used to measure students’s critical thinking skills; (4) the measurement of students’s scientific attitudes are in the medium and high category 36% - 65,3% and 71% - 94%, so that an effective instrument used to measure students’s scientific attitudes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul biologi berbasis aktivitas siswa di pondok pesantren yang efektif untuk meningkatkan sikap spiritual dan kemandirian siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan produk yang mengadaptasi model Borg dan Gall. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan yaitu tahap pencarian dan pengumpulan informasi, perencanaan, pengembangan draf produk, uji coba lapangan awal, merevisi hasil uji coba awal, uji coba lapangan produk utama, dan revisi hasil uji coba produk utama. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Ibnul Qoyyim Sleman. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa hasil penilaian modul, sikap spiritual, dan kemandirian siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah: lembar validasi modul dan observasi kemandirian, angket keterbacaan modul, respon siswa, penilaian diri sikap spiritual, dan kemandirian. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) produk modul yang memenuhi kriteria sebagai bahan ajar dengan kategori nilai sangat baik (A), (2) modul efektif untuk  meningkatkan sikap spiritual siswa dengan kategori tinggi (gain score 0,81) dan meningkatkan kemandirian siswa dengan kategori sedang ( gain score 0,52).Developing a biology module in ecosystem subject based on student’s activity at Islamic boarding school to inculcate the spiritual attitude and self-reliance of students AbstractThis research aims to develop a qualified biology module based on student’s activity in Islamic boarding school to improve students’ spiritual attitude achievement and students’ self-reliance. This research was research and development adapting Borg and Gall model. The stages of the research were research and collecting information, planning, developing a preliminary draft product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, and operational product revision. The research subject were students of class X Madrasah Aliyah Ibnul Qoyyim Sleman. The data were collected in the form of module assessment results, students’ self-reliance and students’ spiritual attitudes achievement. The research instruments were a sheet of module validation and self-reliance, a questionnaire of module readability, students’ responses, self-reliance, and self-assessment to spiritual attitude. The results of this research are: (1)  a biology module based on Islamic boarding school which is qualified and feasible to apply as teaching material with a very good category (A), (2) module is effective to improve the spiritual attitude in high category (gain score 0,81)and of the students students’ self-reliance in middle category (gain score 0,52)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan handout fluida dinamik terintegrasi metakognisi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru fisika dan siswa kelas XI IPA pada SMAN 8 Yogyakarta dan MAN Laboratorium UIN Yogyakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar penilaian kualitas handout oleh ahli pendidikan fisika dan guru fisika, lembar tanggapan siswa terhadap kualitas handout, tes awal dan tes akhir kemampuan menerapkan prinsip fluida dinamik, lembar tanggapan guru fisika dan siswa terhadap penggunaan handout. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis gain score, dan analisis varians dua jalur. Hasil penilaian ahli dan guru menunjukkan bahwa handout memiliki kualitas yang sangat baik. Hasil uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa handout memiliki kualitas yang baik menurut tanggapan siswa, penggunaan handout menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan menerapkan prinsip fluida dinamik siswa SMA dan MA yang signifikan, dan handout sangat praktis digunakan menurut guru fisika SMA dan praktis menurut siswa SMA. Developing handout of fluid dynamics integrated by metacognition to improve application ability of SMA and MA students AbstractThis research aims to develop a handout of fluid dynamics integrated by metacognition. This type of research is research and development. The subjects of this study were a SMA/MA physics teacher and XI IPA grade students at SMAN 8 Yogyakarta and MAN Laboratory UIN Yogyakarta. The instruments used in this study were in the form of quality assessment sheet of teaching materials handout by physics education experts and SMA/MA physics teachers, students response sheet on the quality of teaching materials handout, initial and final test of application competence of the principles of fluid dynamics, and SMA/MA physics teacher and students response sheet on the use of the teaching materials handout. The data analysis technique used in this research was descriptive analysis, analysis of gain score, and two way analysis of variance. The expert and physics teacher assessment results show that the handout developed has a very good quality. Field testing results show that the handout developed has good quality according to student responses, the use of this handout can result significant improvement on the students ability to apply the principles of fluid dynamics at SMAN 8 Yogyakarta and MAN Laboratory UIN Yogyakarta, and the use of the handout is very practical according to SMA physics teacher and practical according to SMA students.

Abstract

Rocks and minerals are very important materials for studying Earth Sciences. They are used to investigate the planetary history and evolution and are utilized as resources to support our lives. At present, it is critical for all countries to secure a stable supply of mineral resources, and it is necessary to understand the deposits and the growing mechanisms of minerals. In Japan, elementary and junior high school students study igneous and sedimentary rocks and some other kinds of minerals. In this research, we conducted a questionnaire for 154 Japanese junior high school students to investigate their 1) knowledge of minerals, and 2) petrology and mineralogy with respect to usefulness of rocks and minerals to our living. First, about 95% of the students could answer the names of the stone, including those who mainly answered jewel names. However, ~56% students could not answer the benefits of minerals.In high school, 36% students learned Basic Earth Sciences and 1.2% learned Earth Sciences (MEXT 2017). There is concern that most of the Japanese people have few opportunities to learn Earth Sciences. As NGSS showed in 2013, Earth and Space Science are major fields of STEM learning. Conclusively, it is necessary to stop memorizing subjects and instead modify the Earth Sciences with respect to STEM education. In this paper, we discuss the student’s attitudes towards petrology and mineralogy so as to propose the Earth STEM education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan modul pop-up berbasis inkuiri terbimbing tema tata surya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari sepuluh langkah dalam pelaksanaannya. Modul yang dikembangkan kemudian divalidasi oleh 3 ahli materi dan 3 ahli media untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kelayakan modul pop-up berbasis inkuiri terbimbing oleh ahli materi dan media memperoleh skor rata-rata 54 dan 39 dengan kriteria sangat layak. Uji coba skala kecil untuk mengetahui keterbacaan modul mendapatkan rata-rata skor 36,89 dari siswa dan 11,9 dari guru dikategorikan sangat baik. Hasil skor N-gain diperoleh  kriteria sedang sampai tinggi sebesar 93,75% dan siswa mendapatkan nilai posttest ≥75 sebesar 84,4%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul pop-up berbasis inkuiri terbimbing tema tata surya layak dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Development of pop-up module with inquiry guided-based in the solar system’s theme for 7th grade students AbstractThis research aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of pop-up module with the inquiry guided based in the solar system’s theme. This research is a development research using research model that cited from Sugiyono (2015) which consists of ten steps in the implementation. Then, the modules which developed were validated by 3 material experts and 3 media experts to determine the feasibility of the product. The results show that the feasibility assessment of pop-up module with inquiry guided based is guided by material and the media experts obtain an average score of 54 and 39 with very reasonable criteria. Small-scale experiment  aims to determine the legibility of the module earned an average score of 36.89 from students and 11.9 from teachers. The classical exhaustiveness obtained is 84,4%, the average og gain normality is 0,55 with medium criterion. Based on the results of the research can be concluded that the pop-up module with inquiry guided-based in the solar system’s theme is feasible and effective use in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengembangkan produk aplikasi LKPD Mobile Learning berbasis Guided Discovery yang layak sebagai bahan ajar dan (2) mengetahui keefektifan penggunaannya terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kompetensi dasar (KD) peserta didik pada pokok bahasan ekosistem dalam kurikulum 2013. Penelitian pengembangan ini  merupakan Design and Development Research (D D R) menurut Ellis dan Levy. Subjek coba penelitian sebanyak 126 peserta didik kelas X dari SMA N 1 Sentolo dan SMA N 1 Temon Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen validasi ahli, instrumen tes pengukuran kompetensi pengetahuan, dan lembar observasi penguasaan kompetensi keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) aplikasi LKPD Mobile Learning berbasis Guided Discovery pada pokok bahasan Ekosistem ditinjau dari penilaian pada aspek kelayakan materi, tampilan, bahasa, dan kehandalan termasuk dalam kategori baik, dan (2) penerapan LKPD Mobile Learning berbasis Guided Discovery pada pokok bahasan Ekosistem dalam proses pembelajaran secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi dasar peserta didik. Developing guided discovery mobile learning worksheet to improve student’s mastery of basic competence in Curriculum 2013 AbstractThe aims of this research were (1) to produce Guided Discovery mobile learning worksheet on Ecosystem subject matter, (2) to know the effectiveness on student’s Mastery of Basic Competence in Curriculum 2013. This research is Design and Development Research (D D R) according to Ellis and Levy. Product as the result of this development research was tested to subject of this research, 126 ten grade students of SMA N 1 Sentolo and SMA N 1 Temon, Kulon Progo. Data were collected through validation instrument set, basic competence instrument test, and observation sheet to assest process skill competence. The result of this recearch showed that (1) Guided Discovery mobile learning worksheet on Ecosystem subject matter was appropriate for students based on the contain, interface, language, and reliability and got good catergory rating, and (2) was effective and significant to improve student’s mastery of Basic Competence in Curriculum 2013.
