Abstract

his study aims to determine the motivation and learning outcomes of students by applying a video-based simulator to the direct drive type starter systemmaterial. This research is motivated by a lack of students’ understandingabout the starter system material in the electrical engine coursedue to the absence of the supporting learning media. This causes students to be less participate during the learning process whichis still focused on the lecturer (teacher-centered) because the teaching and learning activities tend to be monotonous and boring. This study used a pre-experimental method using one group pretest-posttest design research. The population in this study were students of S1 DPTM FPTK UPI batch2018 with a total of 97 students. The sample in this study were 39 students of automotive concentration class 2018. The results of this study showed the improvement of students’ motivationafter learning by usinga video-based starter systemsimulator which then obtain 44% value ofmotivation questionnaire. The result of students’ motivationis at the "sufficiently motivated" stage. Student learning outcomes improved seen from the average value of the pretest, posttest, and T-test. The average pretest score was 42.66 and the posttest average score was 67.89. Based on the results of the T-test, it shows the value ofis 6.007 and df = 39-1= 38 with a significance level of 0.05 so that it is obtained t table of 1.686. ≥ (6,007≥1,686) means that there is a significant improvementbetween the average of pretest and posttest results. This study proves that the use of a video-based simulator can improve thestudent motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure are one of the supports in the educational process, the completeness of facilities and infrastructure can affectthe learning outcomes of students. However, the inadequacy of existing facilities and infrastructure with standards is a problem that needs to be resolved. The purpose of this study is to find out the existence of mapping thatis in accordance with the needs of practicum facilities and infrastructure, to know the mapping technique for practicum facilities and infrastructure needs, and to know the description of the results of the mapping of practicum facilities and infrastructure needs at the Automotive Body Workshop Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The benefit of this research is to provide information to the head of the institution that in the educational process, complete learning facilities and infrastructure are needed so that students' competencies and achievements can be developed, provide input for the institution in order to meet the needs of available learning facilities and infrastructure in order to develop competence and achievement of participants. students in academic and non-academic aspects. This research method uses qualitative methods with descriptive approaches, data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is using the Spradley model data analysis. The results showed that there was no mapping of the facilities and infrastructure needs of the Automotive Body Workshop Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and did not refer to any policies or standards, the practicum facility and infrastructure needs mapping technique used several stages, namely data collection (interviews, observation and documentation), then in the analysis of the analysis as needed by analyzing the Spradley model data, then mapping the form of tables and pictures, mapping the needs for facilities and infrastructure including facilities in the form of furniture, equipment and materials, infrastructure in the form of a practicum area / space in the form of a design area, a formation area, a body repair area , painting area, instructor room, and storage room.

Abstract

his study aims to determine the effect of industrial work practice experience on readiness to enter the world of work of students with competency skills in Mechanical Engineering at SMK N 2 Bandung. The research was conducted at SMK N 2 Bandung with a research sample of 35 students of class XII TP 1 at SMK Negeri 2 Bandung. This type of research is survey research using a quantitative descriptive approach. The instrument used to collect data is manifested in the form of a questionnaire about work readinessand work practices. The data obtained were then converted into a Likert scale. This questionnaire consists of 39 items that have been tested for validation and reliability. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS22. The results of this study indicate that industrial work practices have a positive and significant effect on job readiness. This can be seen from the rxi value of 0.710, the coefficient of determination (r2xy) of 0.504 and tcount (5.790) t table (2.035). Based on the coefficient of determination (r2xy) 0.504, it means that 50.4% of students' work readiness is influenced by Industrial Work Practices, while the remaining 49.6% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

At this time many companies are competing to provide education and cooperation with schools, especially the application of industrial work culture because there will be tax deduction incentivesone of the vocational high schools in Bandung has collaborated with industry and applied industrial work culture to learning. The absence of monitoring, controlling and evaluation on the part of the company and school makes the application of an industrial work culture unable to see the level of suitability and success. This problem encourages researchers to conduct research on the application of industrial work culture in vocational high schools in Bandung. This study aims to determine the suitability and results of the application of industrial work culture.Where the components applied to work culture are 5s, 3c, horenso and yoss check. The research method uses quantitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of industrial work culture questionnaires that have gone through expert validation and statistical validation. The results showed that industrial culture has a score of 87.30% interpretation criteria, which means that the application of industrial work culture is in accordance with the module, Then students have a self-control score for self-discipline of 75.75%, which means that the implementation of industrial work culture in schools is very good.
