Abstract

The interest of a student to enter college must be different according to his personality. This is influenced by the knowledge gained by students; therefore, it is important to provide knowledge about the college. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of student interest in entering college before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The type of research used in this study is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The population of this research is students of the Department of Automotive Engineering at SMK N 1 Koto XI Tarusan academic year 202012022 with a sample of students in class X XII majoring in automotive engineering at SMK N 1 Koto XI Tarusan the number of students is 49 research samples. The results of the research conducted using the t-test, and the t-test results obtained with a value of sig(2-tailed) 0.00 which means it is smaller than 0.005, therefore the results of the t-test indicate that there is a difference in the interest in entering college in automotive engineering college students. SMK N 1 Koto XI Tarusan before and after COVID-19. From this research, it can be concluded that the interest in entering college at college of students majoring in automotive engineering at SMK N 1 Koto XI Tarusan before and after COVID-19 there is a significant difference, this is influenced by the circumstances experienced by these students at this time, namely the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) find out the difference in improving student learning outcomes between those who use the jigsaw-type cooperative model and students who use the lecture model, and (2) find out the increase in student learning outcomes   after applying the cooperative learning model with jigsaw type. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental. The experimental method is used to look for a causal relationship between two factors that the researcher deliberately caused. The population in this study was all Class XI students majoring in Motorcycle Business Engineering at one of the State Vocational Schools in Bandung totaling 5 classes. The research samples were taken in two classes, namely one experimental class and one control class, the sampling technique was carried out random sampling cluster. The instruments used are test instruments and obsrvation sheets. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students who used a jigsaw-type cooperative model and students who got learning with a lecture model. The average final score of learners using the jigsaw-type cooperative model was higher than those using lectures. The N-Gain value index of the jigsaw type cooperative model category is quite effective and the lecture model of its N-Gain index category is ineffective. Keywords: Learning Model; cooperative; jigsaw; Experimental; N-Gain

This study aims to implement a cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type in improving student learning outcomes in the Basic Automotive Engineering (PDTO) subject of Motorcycle Engineering and Business Department at Setia Bhakti Vocational School, Cilawu Garut for the 2022/2023 academic year. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) uses the Kemmis and Taggart research model. The research flow consists of (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, (4) Reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class X TBSM SMK Setia Bhakti, Cilawu Garut, totaling 25 students. The research data were obtained using student activity observation sheets, interviews with PDTO subject teachers and with learning outcomes tests. The technique used to analyze the data is a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this study indicate an increase in the percentage of completeness of PDTO learning outcomes for students of class X TBSM SMK Setia Bhakti in each cycle. In Cycle I, the percentage of students' learning completeness was 56% with an average grade of 74.48. In the second cycle the percentage of students' learning completeness reached 93.75% with an average grade of 89.14.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of optimal practical infrastructure in vocational schools on the subject of light vehicle engine maintenance. This study aims to optimize the practice facilities at SMK PU Negeri Bandung. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method with instruments of observation, interviews and documentation, then the collected data is processed statistically. The results showed that the light vehicle technique had the smallest ratio between the area of the room and the number of students among other skill competencies. The level of availability of infrastructure for an engine work area of 96 m², an electrical work area of 48 m², a chassis work area of 64 m², an instructor's room work area of 48 m² and an overall workshop area of 256 m² so that if categorized as standard workshop infrastructure at SMK PU Negeri Bandung 25% less than the standard BSNP and Permendiknas RI No. 40 of 2008. Therefore, optimization is done by making a practice schedule to increase the arrangement and use of practical infrastructure to 80%.

Abstract

This research paper introduces three innovative approaches for delivering online practical courses in the field of mechanical engineering. With the increasing popularity of eLearning platforms, educators have been encouraged to adapt their teaching methods accordingly. However, teaching practical mechanical engineering courses online has posed significant challenges due to the reliance on machinery and hands-on equipment. This study represents a pioneering effort in proposing new methods to address these difficulties. The primary goals of this research are to establish the feasibility of conducting practical courses online and to provide solutions for enhancing the quality of such courses. To achieve these objectives, the study focuses on the development, application, and analysis of pedagogical approaches, virtual tools, and simulation software. The research was carried out with three student groups enrolled in two Tunisian Higher Institutes of Technological Studies. Based on the evaluations of these experiences, the implementation of new methodologies has led to a significant improvement in students' practical skills.

Abstract

The development of the PTC Creo Parametic website-based learning module for basic modeling work aims to facilitate DPTM UPI students in developing basic parametric modeling skills. The method used is Research Development (RD) with a qualitative approach. In order for the development flow to be directed, the process of developing this learning module uses the Hannafin and Peck development model. The research instrument for module testing used questionnaires, interviews, and observations to find out how the DPTM UPI students responded. This research produced a website-based PTC Creo Parametric learning module for basic parametric modeling work that can facilitate DPTM UPI students and get positive responses from DPTM UPI students. In addition, learning modules provide benefits for users because they are supported by a website-based multitopic scheme, so users can easily access learning materials.
