Abstract

This study aimed to determine the productivity of seaweed cultivation, marketing channel and margins, any constraints and alternative steps in the development of seaweed business strategy in Konawe Selatan Regency. Data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. The results showed that the productivity of seaweed cultivation of dried products reached 8,559.988 kg/ha and productivity of wet products reaches 18,442.072 kg/ha. The absolute marketing margin on marketing channel I and channel II were Rp1,250 (14.71%)  and Rp 750  (8.57%), respectively. Based on the results of the AHP analysis known that the sequency of Relative Priority (RP) at the level of subsystems are the following: supporting subsystem components; marketing subsystem; production facilities subsystem; the processing subsystem; and production subsystems. The AHP analysis results known that the order of priority constraints consists of the institutional constraints; capital; human resources; selling price; productivity; seeds; and technology of postharvest processing; while the order of priority strategies comprises of strengthening strategy of institutional role; development of farmers capacity; strengthening of capital; seed breeding; and procurement of postharvest processing technology. Abstract

This study was done in Lalonggotomi and Ahuawatu village, Pondidaha subdistrict of Konawe Regency with purposes: described the role of woman in horticultural farmer’s household in Konawe Regency; described the strategy used for the household expenses continuity of horticultural farmer in Konawe regency. The results of the research were: the woman role in Lalonggotomi and Ahuawatu was fairly high with 84%, this showed that woman who do an activity such as reproductive, productive and social reached 84% from total number of informant; strategy done for the continuity of household expenses were: Creation of farming expenses source with the utilization of farming sector effectively and efficiently, increasing number of employee, the us of recent technology innovation and land expension; double expenses pattern, beside helping the husband to work in the farm. there were also daily necessity’s shop, catering, and vegetable distributor, sewing and rise selling; the utilization of loan; and asset utilization.Keywords: woman’s role; household expenses; continuity strategy

Abstract

This study aims to analyzing the implementation of broiler chicken business contracts, analyzing the factors that influence breeders to choose broiler breeding businesses with a partnership pattern, and comparing the finances between broiler business farmers in partnership with independent pattern broiler chicken businesses Kendari by using 66 respondents determined through the census method. Data is estimated by; descriptive analysis, binary logistic regression analysis and analysis of independent sample t test. The results showed that: the level of implementation of chicken business contracts in Kendari City depends on the high category, which means that the implementation of the contract has been going well, but some attributes still need to be improved, including three variables related to farmers to choose a broiler chicken business through a partnership pattern, namely; the level of income of independent farmers is higher than the level of income of farmers in the partnership pattern per maintenance cycle. However, the level of income of farmers per year from the two groups was not significantly different.Keywords: breeders; broilers chickens; partnership patterns; nucleus-plasma

Abstract

The study was conducted from January to December 2015 in Andomesinggo Village, Besulutu District, Konawe Regency and Lambandia Village, Lambandia District, East Kolaka Regency. The study aims to examine the production and income of cocoa farming after the GERNAS Kakao program has been implemented. Determination of respondents was carried out in census. Data collected were analyzed descriptive quantitatively. The results of the study show that GERNAS Kakao program has been able to significantly increase cocoa farming production. The average production of cocoa farming in Southeast Sulawesi in 2015 was 871.80 kg per ha while the average production of cocoa beans produced by farming in the GERNAS Kakao program was 1,000.78 kg per ha. The average cocoa farming income in the GERNAS Kakao program is Rp 35,920,865, - per ha.Keywords: production; income; GERNAS Kakao program

Abstract

The system of chain supply in goldfish hatchery enterprise can be detected through the members of the chain, flow of the chain, and process of chain in goldfish hatchery business. The purposes of this study were to analyze the system of supply chain in goldfish hatchery enterprise, to analyze incomes generated from the goldfish hatchery enterprise, to analyze the correlation between the system of supply chain and incomes generated from the goldfish hatchery enterprise. The study was conducted at Unit Pembenihan Rakyat (UPR) in Konawe Regency in province of Sulawesi Tenggara, from April to September 2014. The population in this study was all farmers that own the UPR. Determination of respondents is done by census method. The number of respondents is 8 people. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive way to assess supply chain systems, while the Kendal Rank Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship of supply chain systems with goldfish hatchery income. The results of the study show that the supply chain mechanism of the goldfish hatchery commodity involves main suppliers, hatchery farmers, farmer-collectors, government, and farmer-raisers or end consumers. The flow of the goldfish hatchery commodity consists of three chains, namely: main suppliers à hatchery farmers à government à farmer-raiser; main suppliers à hatchery farmers à farmer-raiser, and main suppliers à hatchery farmers à farmer-collectors. The Kendal coefficient correlation was 90.6%, which indicates a significant correlation between supply chain and incomes generated from goldfish hatchery enterprise. Abstract

The study was conducted in Tongkuno District aimed at knowing livestock business income, and analyzing the competitiveness of beef cattle business. Data came from 78 respondents interviewed using a questionnaire. The variables observed included aspects of production: seeds / feeders, feed, cages, labor, agricultural feed, equipment and medicines; and aspects of income were livestock sales. Data were analyzed using income analysis and Polycy Analysis Matrix (PAM) to analyze competitiveness. The results showed that farmers' income was Rp. 2,319,102,935 with an average income per year is Rp. 5,946,418, and this activity is feasible to be developed with an R/C ratio = 1.6. The analysis shows that the competitiveness of beef cattle farms in competentive Tongkuno District competes with a PCR value of 0.6 and has comparative competitiveness with a DRC value of 0.8.Keywords: income analysis, beef cattle, competetive, comparative

Abstract

Sago is a potential source of food with high calories and carbohydrates (rice equivalent). Sago consumer preferences can provide important information in making marketing strategy sago, and also is one of the indicators of market demand for the products of sago. The purpose of this study were to understand the srage of the purchase decision process undertaken by consumers of sago; analyze the level of customer satisfaction with sago attributes associated from sago; and analyze the consumer preference for various atrributes inherent in sago. The study was conducted in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Respondents were all members of a population of 21 respondents consisting of 15 restaurant owners who provide meals made from sago and 6 owners agro-industry made from raw sago. The study used Engel Model Analysis, Costumer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Analysis, and Conjoint Analysis. The results of the analysis gives an overview of some consumer behavior based on the decision-making process shows that the benefits sought in the purchase buy sago sago is as a raw material to be processed into a menu of traditional food and traditional cakes Kendari. Color sago is the main thing, which will be seen and considered by consumers to make purchases between and will buy sago in traditional markets as close to the place of business. The level of consumer satisfaction in this study were satisfied with the preference category that consumers like sago with normal color (pure white), normal scent (odorless), low prices and package sizes are 20 kg. The resulting combination of sago four attributes (color, flavor, price and package sizes) is acceptable to describe consumers' desire sago in Kendari. Abstract

The development of hybrid corn is a national program in order to achieve the target of corn self-sufficiency. One of the government supports is the issuance of the Government Purchase Price Policy (HPP) through the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 27 / M-DAG/PER / 5/2017 concerning Reference Price for Purchasing Corn. This HPP policy aims to maintain corn availability, price stability and certainty so that the price of corn at the farm level does not fall when the harvest is overflowing. This study was conducted in Konawe District, which is one of the areas of hybrid corn development in Southeast Sulawesi. The aim was to determine the response of hybrid corn farmers to the Government Purchase Price (HPP) policy in Konawe District. The result is the response of hybrid corn farmers to the Government Purchasing Price (HPP) policy in corn in Konawe. Regency is less than or equal to 50% which has a high response because farmers are still uncertain about the certainty of Bulog's purchase of corn and farmers prefer to sell their crops to the farm collectors who provide convenience to corn farmers include not applying water content requirements and purchases made directly to farmers.Keywords: response; price policy; corn

Abstract

Sago is one of plants that produce carbohydrate and has important role for Indonesia daily diet after rice, corn, and cassavas. Konawe Regency is one of the potential to grow sago in Indonesia, with the largest area covered 40,06 percent from the total of the land of sago in the Province of Southeast Sulawesi 5.024 ha. The purposes of the study were to analyze the supporting power of the land of sago in Konawe Regency; analyze the ratio of employeent absorbtion; analyze the income of the farmers of sago processor. The study was conducted in Besulutu Sub-District Konawe Regency. The population was the farmers and the owner of sago involved intoo sago enterpreneurship. The technique of sample was determined by using purposive sampling method. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Results of the research shown that the supporting power of sago plantation based on actual income to fulfill the need of the farmers was about 9 person/hectare/year. In general, the absorbtion of the employement in sago entrepreneurship was about 4 HKP/cycle of the production with the averages number 892 HOK/hectare/year, while the optimalization of the employement total absorbed was 1.784 HOK/hectare/year. The income of the farmer from sago entrepreneurship in one cycle of the production was Rp 3.493.000,-Keywords

Abstract

The preference of quail egg’s consumer could be determined by measuring the consumer choice.  This preference could illustrate the attribute of quail egg that could be produced by producer and accepted by consumer.  The aims of this study were to analyze the attitude and behavior of the customer in case of buying quail egg, analyze the level of self interest and satisfaction of the customer to the quail egg attribute, and analyze the customer preference on a variety of the quail egg attributes. Data collected in Kendari, South East Sulawesi and were analyzed using Fishbein Multiattribute Attitude analysis, IPA analysis (Importance Performance Analysis), and Conjoint Analysis.  The result of Fishbein Multiattribute Attitude Analysis indicated that the 61,91% consumers were fond of quail egg. In average, the acceptabiity of the customer to the quail egg was ‘quite good’ and the behavior of the customer was consistent but they to re-buy the quail egg. While the result of IPA analysis (Importance Performance Analysis) showed that the most important and the most satisfine attribute of quail egg for customer was colourful attribute. The result of Conjoint Analysis revealed that the preference of the quail egg customer in Kendari City was the quail egg with low price, seasonal availability, less than 10 gram in weight, colourful and unpacking.
