Abstract

This aims of this research is to develop and produce assessment  scientific communication skills instruments in physics learning of X grade senior high school is valid so it can be used to measure the scientific communication skills possessed and controlled by the students.This research is development of research use 4D model. This research is done through 4 stages, which are (1) analysis stage, (2) planning stage, (3) development stage, and (4) spread stage.This instrument assessment contains a descriptiontheory,concept definition, operationaldefinition, the latice instrument assessment scientific communication skill, assessment sheets of scientific communication skill, rubric assessment,scoring, and recapitulation score of scientific communication skill than have been validated by experts and tested.From the results of expert validation obtained an average 75,55% percentage which show the criteria of scientific communication skill assessment instrument is very valid. This instrument is tried of 32 students of class X MIA 1 in SMA N 3 Demak and done by conducted by 1 physics teacher. The results of trial shown that percentage of products developed base on response obtained average percentage of 88,83% with very valid criteria. While, the result of validity analysis show that there are 4 (9,3%) item statement is not valid because rxy <0,35, whereas 39 (90,7%) Other statement items are valid with rxy> 0,35. Invalid statements include item number 24, 29, 36, and 43. In the reliability analysis obtain value result rcritic = 0,84432, while rtable = 0,35. From the analysis of the reliability values obtained rcritic > rtable it can be concluded that the assessment instruments already reliable scientific communication skills.

Abstract

The aims of this research to know “the efectiveness starter experiment approach (SEA) toward high-order thinking skill of students.” This research is a Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. We used XI IPA as population. We used simple random sampling. We used pretest and posttest as instrument to gain/obtain our main data. T-test and Normalized-gain (N-gain) are used to analyze those data.  We obtain score sig.(2-Tailed) = 0,041 < α = 0,05,the percentage increase in students in the high is 8%, moderate is 38%, and low is 54%, experiment class N-gain = 0,33 > control class N-gain = 0,20 These result show that experiment class has more effective than control class. It means starter experiment approach (SEA) proven to effective toward high-order thinking skill of students in physics.

Abstract

Learning Physics on the diffraction of light through a practical on diffraction learning material using a toy laser beam as the source of monochromatic light has the obyectives to know the wavelength of a toy laser beam  and to improve  students’ learning activities. The practical was conducted in groups consisting of 10 groups each of which consists of 3 students of Senior High School 2 Kebumen in class XII ScienceA, 2014/2015 school year. The conclusions from the data analyses and observations during the learning process are; the wavelength range of the toy laser beam is on average 649 nm - 662 nm, and the laser beam as the source of monochromatic light on the diffraction learning material shoured the same monochromatic light on the screen. The student’s learning activity showed an increasing tendency indicated their active involvement in the learning process when stringing tools, observing, recording, data process, concluding and reporting their practicals. Based on the illustration mentioned above, it can be concluded that the toy laser beam can be used as an alternative source of monochromatic light which is afordable and obtainable for the teaching of  light diffraction throngh practical

Abstract

The aims of this study are to determine the differences in students’  learning interest, to know the differences in the level of students’ learning independence,  to know the  differences in achievements of cognitive learning outcomes of students who learn conventionally and those who  learn  using  blended learning method. The type of this research is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest controlled group design. Control class learn conventionally while experimental classes learn in blended learning, which is a conventional learning process combined with online learning, by utilizing the application of Quipper school. Students’ learning interest in control class before the learning process gets an average value of 118.74 while after the learning process gets an average value of 123.78. As for the experimental class, before the learning process gets an average value of 119.89 while after the learning process gets an average score of 131.21. For the level of students’ learning independence of the control class during the learning process gets an average score of 28.5 while for the experimental class during the learning process gets an average score of 35.1. So there is a difference of 6.6 between the control class and the experimental class. The students’ cognitive learning outcomes of the control class before the learning process gets an average score of 40.3, while after the learning process gets an average score of 58.67. As for the experimental class, before the learning process gets an average score of 42.29 while after the learning process gets an average score of 76.71. So the increase of control class is 18,37 while experiment class is 34,43.

Abstract

There has been a study that demonstrates the ability to analyze and solve the problem of kinematics material in prospective physics teachers. This research uses the qualitative method. There are three techniques of data collection namely; questionnaires from students, interviews from faculty, and observation of campus environmental conditions. The results of this study produce gaps, and it can be concluded that the need for improvement and improvement of the learning model. Learning using the Video analysis program can solve the problem

Abstract

The aim of the research is to know the effect of using bimetal Musschenbroek Bimetal to the skill science processes this type of research conducted by researcher is Quasi Experimental with Non equivalent Control Group Desaign. This population of this research is all of students in Miftahul Falah Junior High school VII 2017/2018 school year which consist of thirty five until forty students. Devided seven classes are VII A, VII B, VII C, VII D, VII E, VII F, VII G, sampling technique in this research using cluster sampling technique. The experimental class was not choosen randomly but determined by the teacher and this taking sampling technique becouse the population is assismed to be normally distributed and in a homogenitas state so that selected VII A class as a contol class and VII D class as experiment class.Technique of data collection is done by using observation sheet method data collection technique were conducted using the observation sheet method skill science processes and documentation. Testing research hypotheseses show. There is significant influence  using Musschenbroek Bimetal to the students science prosess skills, in the test of the hypotheseses the researcher using taster hypothesis t right side from the result of post test show that value  tcount > ttableis  4,35 > 1,67 becouse tcount> ttable so H0  Rejected, Ha is received, so there is a difference influence on the leaning that carred on in the experimental class and control class.

Abstract

This research is a quasi experimental research that aims to determine the differences and the improvement of mastery of physics concepts in the classroom using contextual teaching materials that integrated local wisdom with classes using conventional teaching materials. The research design used was pretest posttest control group design. Both the experimental and control classes are given equal treatment, but the experimental class uses contextual teaching materials that integrate local wisdom while the control class uses conventional teaching materials. The number of students in the experimental class is 25 students while the control class is 30 Students. The data analysis used parametric statistics with a two tailed t test to determine the difference and the N-gain test to find out the improvement of student conceptualization. The two tailed t test used SPSS 20 software assistance in the data analysis process. Based on result of data analysis that obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) by 0.000 <0.01 (α = 1%). This shows that there is a very significant difference between physics learning through problem solving method using contextual teaching materials with physics learning through problem solving using conventional teaching materials. In addition, based on the N-gain calculation the average value of  N-gain for the experimental class is 0.87 with the high category whereas the average value of N-gain for the control class is 0.65. This shows that the experimental class where the physics learning using materials Contextual teaching has increased the mastery of the concept higher than the control class that uses conventional teaching materials.

The aims of this research are to knoweffectiveness examine result and sains proces skill students using a strategy REACT (Relating,Eksperiencing,Applying,Cooperating, The research methode using is Quasi Experiment. Instrument research using test is essay  examinine for examine result learning and non test is observasion sheet for sains proces skill. According research result using independent sampel t testanlysis of the data postest shows that thitung > ttabel (4,900>2,001) and percentage average of observasion sheet control and experimen class shows that thitung >ttabel (2,979 >2,001). Then effectiveness of strategy REACT a given with effect size test obtain d=0,3 is included in the medium. Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of developing a demonstration method using Student Activity Sheet (LKS) with an online similation approach on fluid material, and producing Student Activity Sheets that meet valid, practical, and effective criteria. This research is a development research using the model of device development according to Thiagarajan, without spreading stage. A limited trial was conducted in class XI IPA 1 MAN Majenanag odd semester of academic year 2017/2018 with 38 students. In this study, the data obtained from the validation by the validator, the results of student work on the test results of learning, and filling the questionnaire response students. Based on the analysis results obtained that the LKS development process refers to the model according Thiagarajan which is limited to the development stage. The result of the development is LKS with an online simulation approach on fluid material that meets the valid, practical, and effective criteria

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of Problem base learning assisted wondershare quiz creator on students’ high order thinking skills. The design of this study is true experimental which uses pre-test and post-test. This study is done in SMA Negeri 1 Sayung on September 25J uli − 8Agustus, 2017 which uses two classes as the sample and the sampling technique which the writer uses is Cluster Random technique. Based on the technique, the writer has gotten XI MIPA 1 as the experiment class and XI MIPA 2 as the control class. Moreover, the writer uses test and documentation as the techniques of data collection in this study. Based on the data analysis, the experiment class pre-test score is 32, 3 and the control class’s pre-test score is 31, 96. Meanwhile the post-test score of experiment class is 57, 3 and control class is 41, 6. Based on both classes pretest and posttest results, it shows that there is a significant different between the student’s self-employed and their study results in experiment class with the student’s self employed and their study results in control class. The hypothesis testing shows ttest = 3, 89 and ttable = 1, 667. This result shows that ttest > ttable (3, 89 > 1, 667) which means that H0 is declined. Therefore, it means that Problem based learning assisted wondershare quiz creator Method is able to cultivate students’ high order thinking skills
