Abstract

Kambang Iwak (KI) RTH in Palembang is an oasis for the life of Palembang City. KI Park is always busy with residents visiting for recreation, on weekends KI Park is a place to unwind for local workers, and residents to exercise. The green route of the Muaro River in Padang City nowadays tends to be busy with city residents, especially in the afternoon before Maghrib, and several spots even have non-permanent stalls set up to facilitate residents' activities. These two green open spaces are mini objects in this research to see their recreational potential. This research aims to look at the recreational potential of residents in the Kambang Iwak RTH (Palembang, South Sumatra) and the Muaro River Green Route (Padang, West Sumatra). This research was carried out in two cities in two provinces, namely: 1) Kambang Iwak RTH, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province, and 2) Muaro River Green Belt, Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The data collected in this research was divided into 2 (two) groups, namely primary data and secondary data. The recreational potential in both green open spaces looks at the internal aspects of visitors which are obtained through questionnaires to visitors who are currently using the green open spaces. The research results showed that the highest user choice was the recreational potential of the Kambang Iwak Palembang green open space as a recreational destination for residents were enjoying culinary delights (93.47%), walking (91.84%), enjoying nature (89.39%), enjoying the air (88, 16%), chatting (85.71%), playing (75.92%), studying (66.94%), and cycling (59.59%), while the Sungai Muaro Padang RTH as a recreation destination for residents is to enjoy nature (84.52%), chatting (84.52%), enjoying the air (82.58), enjoying culinary delights (74.84%), traveling (74.19%), studying (74.19%), playing (67.74%), cycling (62.58%), and fishing (62.58%).

Abstract

Changes in land cover are thought to be the main factor in the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. UHI is a form of local climate change which is characterized by an increase in temperature reaching 6oC in central urban areas compared to vegetated areas on the outskirts of the city. Compact vegetated land or Green Open Space (GOS), which is able to avoid increasing the surrounding temperature. GOR H. Agus Salim as one of the GOS in Padang City is a place for residents to have recreation and fill their free time by enjoying various culinary delights with friends and family as well as sports activities. This research aims to measure the benefits of tree canopies as climate amelioration in the H. Agus Salim GOR area. The research was conducted in September 2023, with 7 repetitions at 5 measurement points (3 under the tree canopy and 2 in the open field). Data is measured directly in the field with a thermohygrometer. The cooling effect provided by trees was analyzed using a difference approach between measurements in shade and open areas. Thermal comfort level is measured using the empirical formula Temperature Humidity Index (THI). The results showed that there was a decrease in temperature under the tree from 2,0oC (in the morning) to 2,9C (in the afternoon). However, THI calculations show that GOR H. Agus Salim is in the Uncomfortable criteria both under a canopy and in open areas.

Abstract

Sungai Batang Kuranji adalah salah satu sungai utama yang ada di kota padang dengan panjang 32,4 km. Sungai ini dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber air bersih, rekreasi dan sebagai sumber mata pencarian bagi masyarakat sekitar seperti menangkap ikan, menambang batu dan pasir. Seiring dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk dan efek gempa yang menguncang kota padang pada tahun 2009 yang menyebabkan penduduk kota padang bermigrasi ke daerah yang lebih tinggi, sehingga mengakibatkan alih fungsi lahan semakin pesat termasuk di daerah aliran sungai batang kuranji. Pembukaan lahan/hutan tidak hanya terjadi dibagian tengah daerah aliran sungai bahkan sampai kearah hulu, sehingga mengakibatkan pencemaran pada sungai. Hal ini tentu mengancam keberlangsungan hidup flora dan fauna termasuk amfibi. Maka perlu dilakukan penelitian terhadap dampak aktivitas antropogenik terhadap keaneragaman amfibi di sungai batang kuranji kota padang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja jenis amfibi dan dampak aktivitas antropogenik terhadap tingkat keanekaragaman amfibi di Daerah Aliran Sungai Batang Kuranji Kota Padang.  Sampel dikoleksi di tiga lokasi yaitu daerah hulu, tengah dan hilir Sungai Batang Kuranji, kemudian dilakukan analisis indeks keaneragaman dan indeks keseragaman. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 12 jenis amfibi di sungai batang kuranji dengan nilai indeks keanekaragaman kategori sedang. Kata Kunci : antropogenik, keanekaragaman, amfibi

Abstract

Vegetasi terutama pepohonan dikenal sebagai solusi berbasis alam yang dapat mengoptimalkan tingkat kenyamanan termal di ruang luar perkotaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) menghitung manfaat tajuk pohon dalam menurunkan suhu, 2) mengukur tingkat kenyamanan termal berdasarkan THI dan persepsi pengguna. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran secara langsung melputi suhu, kelembapan, angin di bawah tajuk pohon dan di lahan terbuka, serta persepsi dari 50 responden. Manfaat tajuk pohon dalam menurunkan suhu dihitung melalui pendekatan selisih antara suhu di bawah tajuk dan pada area terbuka. Tingkat kenyamanan termal dihitung melalui rumus THI, dan persepsi kenyamanan termal menggunakan skala Likert kemudian dilakukan uji statistik Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kondisi suhu di bawah tajuk pohon yang lebat dan lebar lebih dingin 2,1 0C pada siang hari, namun lebih hangat 0,3 0C pada malam hari dibandingkan pada tempat terbuka. Suhu di bawah tajuk lebih stabil yang ditunjukkan dengan interval perubahan yang lebih kecil dibandingkan pada tempat terbuka. Pengukuran indeks THI menunjukkan kriteria tidak nyaman baik di bawah tajuk maupun di daerah terbuka. Namun, warga merasakan nyaman di bawah tajuk dibandingkan pada area terbuka. Untuk menjawab kontradiksi hasil antara kriteria nyaman berdasarkan inteks THI dan persepsi nyaman, diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut yang komprehensif dengan parameter yang lebih kompleks.
