Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Second, describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension text description with the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study is a corelasinoal design. The population of this research is class VII students of Padang Panjang State Junior High School registered in the 2018/2019 school year, which is 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, that is 48 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the reading comprehension test scores of the description text description and the scores on the writing of the description text skills. The data was obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure reading comprehension text skills and performance tests to measure description text writing skills. Based on data analysis and discussion, three research results are obtained as follows. First, reading comprehension text skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 81.35. Second, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 77.15. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and description writing skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between reading comprehension and description text writing skills with the description text of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. So, it was concluded that the higher the reading comprehension skills of students 'description texts, the higher the students' writing description text skills. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan                    Menulis, Teks Deskripsi, Korelasi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aims to describe generic structure and language features of procedure texts by seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Kota Solok. The method that is used is descriptive qualitative method. The data of the research are procedure texts collected in many sources such as the documents of 32 text procedure written by the students. The instrument of this research is the researcher her self. Data were analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing the data toward the theory. Based on the results of the study, there are two things that can be concluded. First, the seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Kota Solok have used the five generic structure of procedure text in writing. The generic structures of of procedure text are title, purpose, tool or meterial, and closing. It is proven by 32 procedure texts that have been analyzed, there are all texts have titles, tools, and materials, as well working steps, only 8 texts that have a purpose. Students have not been able to write a good closing in making the procedure text. This is evident from 32 texts analyzed only 6 texts that have a cover. Second, in terms of language. The happiness analyzed is three, namely diction, conjunction, and imperative sentences. Of the 32 research data found 4,099 the number of diction consisting of 3,949 standard diction and 150 diction which are not standard. From 32 research data found 436 number of conjunctions consisting of 420 uses of precision conjunctions and 16 improper conjunctions.  Kata Kunci: Struktur Teks, Diksi Teks, Konjungsi Teks

Abstract

Hujan Bulan Juni is a short comic illustrated by Mansjur Darman. It is a modified form of literary works from poetry text into comic. Converting the written language into a visual language can provide different understanding and reading experience because the visual language uses its own distinct and interesting "language system" which appealing to study. For example, the use of comic element such as panel that communicate ideas or stories. The panel is a space-time element which described the dimension of space and time as the actual concept that we know of. The panel also creates the illusion of invisible elements such as sounds. This paper examines 1) the use of visual language, especially panel representation on time and space on Hujan Bulan Juni short comic; 2) the aesthetic and atmosphere created by comic panels. This paper use qualitative descriptive approach by conducting literature study with the help of data analyses table. Findings indicate the overall use of panels on comic Hujan Bulan Juni depicted monotonously so that the space and time that the reader perceived of the story happened in one place and on the same time. In addition, the panels used in the comic produce a calm and gentle atmosphere. This is evident from the constant use of panels with no variation as well as time and timing impression of slow paced storytelling.Keyword: Hujan bulan juni, visual language, comic panels, atmosphereMEMBACA RUANG-WAKTU (SPACE-TIME) PANEL KOMIKALISASI PUISI HUJAN BULAN JUNIAbstrakKomik Hujan Bulan Juni yang diilustrasikan oleh Mansjur Darman merupakan pengubahbentukan karya sastra berupa teks ke dalam media komik. Pengubahbentukan dari bahasa tulisan menjadi bahasa visual dapat memberikan pemahaman dan pengalaman membaca yang berbeda karena bahasa visual menggunakan “sistem bahasa” tersendiri yang kompleks dan menarik untuk diteliti. Sistem bahasa dalam komik dapat ditelusuri dari penggambaran panel dan imaji yang merupakan representasi ruang-waktu (space-time). Adapun tujuan penelitian adalah untuk 1) melihat bagaimana penggambaran bahasa visual komik (ruang dan waktu) pada panel komikalisasi Hujan Bulan Juni; 2) serta pengalaman estetis (atmosfer dan emosi) yang muncul dari penggunaan panel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan melakukan studi pustaka dengan bantuan tabel analisis data. Temuan dari penelitian ini yaitu secara keseluruhan penggunaan panel pada komikalisasi puisi “Hujan Bulan Juni” karya Sapardi Djokodamono yang diubah bentuk oleh komikus Mansjur Darman digambarkan secara monoton sehingga ruang dan waktu yang dipersepsi pembaca yaitu cerita terjadi pada satu tempat dan satu waktu yang sama. Selain itu, penggunaan panel komik menghasilkan atmosfer tenang dan lembut. Hal ini terlihat dari penggunaan panel yang konstan, tidak variatif, serta penggambaran waktu (time) dan timing yang berkesan lambat dan tidak tergesa-gesa.Kata kunci: komik hujan bulan juni, bahasa visual, panel komik, atmosfer

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is three. First, describing the procedure of writing the text of a class VII junior high School 14 Padang before using modelling techniques. Second, describing the procedure of writing the text of Class VII in SMP Negeri 14 Padang after using modeling technique. Third, describing the influence of use of modeling techniques to the skill level of writing the text procedures class VII SMP Negeri 14 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. This research draft is one group Pretests and posttest design. The population in this study is a grade VII student at SMP Negeri 14 Padang enrolled in Lesson 2018/2019. The samples in this study were determined using purposive sampling techniques. This research variable is the skill of writing the procedure text before and after using the modeling technique of class VII SMP Negeri 14 Padang. This research Data is the test score of the text writing procedure before and after using the modeling technique of class VII SMP Negeri 14 Padang. The Data is analyzed with a percentage formula, average count formula, and test-T. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe: (1) the skill of listening to the text of the observation report, (2) the skill of writing observational report text, and (3) analyzing the contribution of observing the text of the observation report to the observation writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas Pesisir Selatan Regency. The type of research used is quantitative and descriptive-analytical methods. The data collection technique was carried out through listening skills tests and test of observations texts of 45 people samples taken by proportional-random sampling. The results of the study showed: (1) writing skills of observational report text were in good qualification by achieving an average score of 81.84 in the range of values of 0 to 100, (2) the listening skill of observational report text were in a very good qualification achieving an average value of 90.00 in the range 0 to  100, and (3) the contribution of the skill of listening to the of observational report text  to writing observational report text was  equal to 31.03% among class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Kata Kunci: Menyimak, Menulis, Kontribusi, Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi

Abstract

                                                                ABSTRACTthe purpose of this research are three, there are describes (1) skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang before using discovery learning model, (2) skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang after using discovery learning model, (3) the influence discovery learning model towards skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. There are two research data, there are score of skill on writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang before and after using discovery learning model. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded three things, there are (1) skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang before using discovery learning model qualifications are on enough with the average value of 69,97, (2) skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri Padang 22 after using discovery learning model with good qualifications are on average value of 81,90, and (3) the influence discovery learning model impact skill of writing observation report text class VII SMP Negeri 22 Padang degrees of significance 0,95 and dk = n-1 because thitung > ttabel (5,81 > 1,70).Kata kunci: Pengaruh, Model Discovery Learning, Teks Laporan Observasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article was written to describe the correlation of reading comprehension skill with the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The sample in this study amounted to 40 people. The data of this research is the result score skill test reading comprehension and the result score skill test of writing the text of the result of observation. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are obtained. First, the skill of reading comprehension of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung is in very good qualification  (88,42). Second, the skill of writting the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung is in good qualification (82,50). Third, there is correlation of reading comprehension skill with the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung because tcount>ttable(2,13>1,68). Kata kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis, teks laporan hasil observasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of listening to the news of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development at the UNP Laboratory Development. Second, describe the writing text skills of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development in the Construction of the UNP Laboratory. Third, describe the contribution of listening to the news with the writing text skills of  VIII grade students at the UNP Laboratory Development.The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the Middle School Development of the UNP Laboratory which was registered in the 2017/2018 school year, it was 168 students.The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 42 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of listening to the news and scores on the results of the test writing news text skills. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills.The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the Middle School Development.The development of the UNP Laboratory is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B). Second, the skill of listening to the news text of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development of the UNP Laboratory Development in accordance with Good qualifications (B). Third, listening to news text skills contributed 32.72% to the news text writing skills of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development at the Construction of the UNP Laboratory.                    Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan Menyimak Berita, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Berita

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to determine the effect of discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media on the ability to write fable text by students of class VII SMPN 7 Padang. The data of this research is the score of writing ability of fable text. Data were collected by giving performance test of fable test writing ability on sample before and after applying discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media. The ability to write fable text before and after applying a discovery learning model is aided by audiovisual media rather than to see the effect by using the t-test formula. The results showed that (1) the ability of writing fable text by grade VII students of SMPN 7 Padang before applying the discovery learning model aided by audiovisual media is on the Qualification More than Enough (Ldc) with the average value of 67,08, (2). the ability to classify fable by grade VII students of SMPN 7 Padang after applying discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media with good qualification (B) with score average 76,53, and (3) based on t-test, alternative hypothesis accepted at significant level 95% and degrees of freedom due to thitung> ttable (2.80> 1.70). Kata kunci: Model discovery learning, media audiovisual, teks fabel
