Abstract

Gastropod is one of the mollusk phylum that can adapt and decompose in mangrove forests. The mangrove forest in Sungai Kakap is an area that is slowly being opened due to the local community people’s activities. They opened land to build buildings, farms, and villages. This research is aimed at studying the diversity of Gastropod and the influence of the mangrove tree density on the gastropod diversity in the mangrove forest of Sungai Kakap, Sungai Kakap Village of Kubu Raya Regency. The data were taken in May 2018. The analysis was conducted using the observation method by making six observation lines. The lines were differentiated based on the density of the vegetations: dense, medium, and sparse. The number of Gastropods found in the Kakap River mangrove forest is 4 types of gastropods with a total of 252 individuals. Respectively from dense, medium, and sparse vegetation, the gastropod dominance index is 0.68, 0.37, and 0.51; the diversity index is 0.25, 0.49, and 0.33; the species average index is 0.27, 0.97, and 0.4; and the gastropod species richness index is 4.03, 1.18, and 0.7. Lastly, the species similarity index is respectively 86%, 66%, and 86%. Keywords: Gastropod, Mangrove Forests, Vegetation density.

Abstract

The condition of Embaloh River is still well maintained, with clear water and a large variety of fishes. This is because the forest around Embaloh River is still dense; there is no deforestation, mining, and palm oil garden. In such a condition, the river is capable of maintaining a large variety of fishes that have not listed yet. Therefore, this research has the purpose of studying the variety of fishes in Embaloh River, and also to categorize the fishes based on their benefits, whether as decorative fishes, to be eaten, or even as a decorative fish and also to be eaten. The research was conducted on the Embaloh River, Banua Ujung Village, Embaloh Hulu District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Research Data is obtained by the use of fishing equipment such as mesh, Bubu, Sauk, trawler, burst, and Talom. The method of research using the survey method, the selection of observation stations conducted with (purposive sampling) based on consideration of environmental conditions of the water. This location is made 3 (three) stations on the Embaloh River and 1 (one) station is on the lake (oxbow) called Lake Loane. Lake Loane is a stream of the Embaloh River Moreover, fish of species taken from Embaloh River and Loane Lake, which water from Embaloh River flows to, consist of several families of fish; Cobitidae (1 species), Cyprinidae (13 species), Elopidae (1 species), Grynocheilidae (1 species), Helostomatidae (1 species), Osphronemidae (2 species), Polynemidae (1 species), Pristolepididae (1 species), Sisoridae (1 species), and Syngnathidae (1 species). Keywords: Banua Ujung Village, Embaloh River, Fish Species Diversity, Loane Lake.

Abstract

Ants (Formicidae) are a type of insect that has a fairly stable population throughout the season and year. Its large and stable amount makes ants one of the important insect colonies in the ecosystem. Ants are often used as bio-indicators in environmental assessment programs. This study aims to record the diversity of ant species (Formicidae) in secondary natural forest areas in Sepandan Village, Batang Lupar District, Kapuas Hulu District based on altitude from sea level. The method used is purposive sampling by using a trap in each tree in the path of observation, this observation uses three paths based on the height of the observation place, the first line at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, the second track at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level and the third line at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The trap used is Pit Fall Traps trap on the ground surface and Fly Sheet on the tree. Ants who were captured at an altitude of 100 masl were 1,025 individuals consisting of 9 genera and 13 species, at an altitude of 200 masl of ants that were successfully captured as many as 4,228 individuals consisting of 8 genera and 9 species, while at an altitude of 300 masl ants were captured as much as 2,940 individuals consisting of 15 genera and 21 species. The dominant species at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level is Crematogaster obscura, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level dominated by the species Crematogaster reticulata, and at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level this location is dominated by Acanthomyrmex ferox species. Diversity index of ant species at an altitude of 100 masl of 0.709, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level of 0.565 and at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level of 1.131 with a total diversity value of 0.801.Keyword: Ant, Diversity, Secondary Natural Forests

Methods that used inside research here that is perposive sampling using tools catch nets and dragnet with 10 supprssant on broads 50 meter and installation draget at any dot observations. Samples taken in the show 6 points of observation within 100 meters. The setting of the sample points was done in the labyrinth p the mangrove orest, which is fine, moderate and badly demaged. Observations in the mangrove conditions affect the diversity of fish such as fine, moderate, and degraded conditions, the result is evidenced by accounts based on the reddish diersity in each observation station on this study is found as many as 5 different fish.Keyword : Fish, Mangrove, Species Diversity Of Fish
