Abstract

Background: Child development is an important factor. The success of each phase affects the child's ability in the next phase. The low level of knowledge, attitudes and actions of parents about growth, and development disorders can cause deviations in growth, development, and mental and emotional disorders. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PrimaKu application on the behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) of parents in monitoring the growth and development of toddlers in the Panincong Health Center Work Area, Soppeng Regency. Methods: The research design used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group pre and post-test design. The sample consisted of 36 respondents who were divided into the intervention and control groups. Data were analyzed using T-test. Results: The results showed that there was an effect of the PrimaKu application on the knowledge (p-value = 0.0001), attitudes (p-value = 0.0001) and actions (p value = 0.0001) of parents in monitoring the growth and development of toddlers, there was an average difference knowledge (p-value = 0.007 ), attitudes (p-value = 0.007) and actions (p-value = 0.028) of parents in the intervention group and control group (p-value = 0.0001). Conclusion: Parents should be able to use the PrimaKu application to improve behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) in monitoring the growth and development of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Pneumonia causes the lung tissue to become inflamed, the alveoli are filled with pus and fluid causes difficulty in oxygen absorption resulting in difficulty breathing. Children with pneumonia cause the ability of the lungs to expand to decrease so that the body reacts by breathing quickly so that hypoxia does not occur. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of inhalation therapy using oxygen on hemodynamics (Heart Rate and Respiratory Rate) in children under five with pneumonia. Methods: The design of this study was a quasy experiment with the control group and the intervention group, the number of respondents in this study was 32 respondents who were divided into two groups, the sampling used was a simple random sampling method. Results: The results showed that the mean heart rate value of the intervention group compared to the control group was 131.29;135.04, in addition to that the mean respiratory rate value of the intervention group and control group was 32.01;34.20. from the results of the bivariate analysis it was found that there was an influence before and after in the control group and the intervention group with p-value=0.000. Conclusion: the conclusion in this study is So, from the results of this study, researchers argue, in providing respiratory rate stability to pediatric patients with respiratory tract disorders such as pneumonia, both therapies can be given, both inhalation therapy with oxygen, and inhalation therapy using compressors.

Abstract

Background: Excessive use of gadgets among children has negative impacts, such as reduced social interaction, learning disorders, sleep disturbances, vision problems, and radiation risks. Parental mediation strategies and digital literacy can help prevent excessive gadget use in children. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between parental mediation, family functioning, and parental digital literacy with gadget use among school-aged children. Methods: The research design employed a descriptive analytic approach with a cross-sectional method. The study sample consisted of school-aged children from elementary schools in Karawang District, selected using purposive sampling with a total of 149 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test followed by multiple logistic regression with a significance level of < 0.05. Results: The study results showed that, in the bivariate analysis, there was a relationship between parental mediation, family functioning, and parental digital literacy with gadget use among children (p-value < 0.05). The multiple logistic regression test results indicated that the variable most associated with gadget use among children was parental mediation. Conclusion: This study is expected to serve as a reference for nurses to assist parents in applying parental mediation techniques and enhancing digital literacy socialization to prevent excessive gadget use in children.
