Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan konten fisika melalui penerapan metode praktikum virtual berbasis simulasi PhET berbantuan Guided-Inquiry Module. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah 1 kelas mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Fisika Dasar pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pengetahuan konten mahasiswa adalah sebesar 50.56 pada siklus I, 60.76 pada siklus II, dan 70.08 pada siklus III. Persentase ketuntasan belajar yang diperoleh kelas adalah sebesar 20% pada siklus I, 24% pada siklus II, dan 56% pada siklus III. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut,dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan konten mahasiswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode praktikum virtual berbasis simulasi PhET berbantuan guided-inquiry module. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan Konten Fisika,Praktikum Virtual, Simulasi PhET, Guided-Inquiry Module AbstractThis research aimed to determine the increase in student's physics content knowledge through the application of a virtual practicum method based on a PhET simulation assisted by the guided-inquiry module. The method used in this research was a classroom action research method. The research subjects were 1 class of students who took the Basic Physics course in odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The results showed that the average score of student content knowledge was 50.56 in the first cycle, 60.76 in the second cycle, and 70.08 I n the third cycle. The percentage of subject matter mastery obtained by the class was 20% in the first cycle, 24% in the second cycle, and 56% in the third cycle. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an increase in student’s physics content knowledge after participating in learning with a virtual practicum method based on a PhET simulation assisted by the guided-inquiry module. Keywords : Physics Content Knowledge, Virtual Practicum, PhET Simulation, Guided-Inquiry Module

Abstract

This research aims to identify abundance, species diversity, dominance, and evenness and to determine the type of decapod habitat on the coast of Bengkulu City. The method used is the survey method. The sampling location was divided into three stations: Pasir Putih Beach, Panjang Beach, and Kualo Beach. The sampling technique used transects, at each station, an area of 300 m was taken. Decapod diversity was analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener formula, the dominance index (C) was analyzed using Simpson's dominance index, and the evenness index was calculated using Pielou. The results of the research show that on the coast of Bengkulu City, decapod species consisting of six families were found. The diversity index shows that at stations I (0.864/low), II (1.00/medium), and III (0.372/low). Dominance index at stations I (0.046/low), II (0.113/low), and III (0.003/low). Evenness index at stations I (0.415/height), II (0.466/height), and station III (0.92/height). The most common decapods found are the family Hippidae and the species Emerita emeritus, with a total of 18 individuals. The decapod habitat type on Bengkulu City Beach is a sandy beach type. Environmental parameters (DO, water pH, air humidity, light intensity, salinity, and temperature) are in conditions suitable for decapod life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' communication skills after participating in learning basic physics courses with the jigsaw type cooperative learning model with the case method. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest only control group design. The population in this study were all students who took basic physics courses. While the samples in this study were two classes of students taken by purposive sampling technique. Each class consists of 20 students. The experimental class was given jigsaw cooperative learning with the case method and the control class was given direct learning with the discussion method. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class students' communication skills was 76.29 in the good category and the control class was 68.71 in the fairly good category. The results of the difference hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test show that the u value (110.5) is smaller than the u value in the table (127). Based on these results, it can be concluded that there are differences in the communication skills of students who receive jigsaw cooperative learning with the case method and those who receive direct learning using the discussion method. This shows that the jigsaw type of cooperative learning with the case method can better train students' communication skills.Keywords: cooperative learning model, jigsaw, case method, student communication skills.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pendidikan mitigasi bencana dalam pembelajaran IPA, mengetahui persepsi guru dan peserta didik terhadap pentingnya penerapan pendidikan mitigasi bencana dalam pembelajaran IPA . Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 6 sekolah yang ada di Kota Bengkulu. Jumlah siswa yang terlibat terdiri dari 32 siswa dari masing-masing kelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar wawancara dan lembar angket terhadap pentingnya penerapan mitigasi bencana. Berdasarkan Hasil perhitungan keterlaksanaan pendidikan mitigasi bencana yang telah dilakukan dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP di wilayah pesisir Kota Bengkulu dapat dilihat pada lampiran 7 bahwa persentase rata-rata dari SMP Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu sebesar 73,88 yang berada pada kategori baik, SMP Negeri 7 Kota Bengkulu sebesar 80,50 yang berada pada kategori baik, SMP Negeri 9 Kota Bengkulu sebesar 77,46 yang berada pada kategori baik, SMP SINT CAROLUS Kota Bengkulu sebesar 73,08 yang berada pada kategori baik, SMP Negeri 12 Kota Bengkulu sebesar 80,00 yang berada pada kategori baik dan di SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu sebesar 78,88 yang berada pada kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara guru keterlaksanaan pendidikan mitigasi bencana dalam pembelajaran IPA bahwa persepsi guru sudah cukup baik, sedangkan menurut peserta didik sudah cukup baik tetapi belum dilaksanakan demonstrasi secara langsung. The sample used in this study was class VII students consisting of 6 schools in the city of Bengkulu. The number of students involved consisted of 32 students from each class. This type of research is research descriptive. The instruments used in this study were interview sheets and questionnaire sheets regarding the importance of implementing disaster mitigation. Based on the results of calculating the implementation of disaster mitigation education that has been carried out in junior high school science learning in the coastal area of Bengkulu City, it can be seen in Appendix 7 that the average percentage of SMP Negeri 3 Bengkulu 73.88 which is in the good category, SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu 80.50 which is in the good category, SMP Negeri 9 Bengkulu 77.46 which is in the good category, SMP SINT CAROLUS Bengkulu 73.08 which is in the good category, SMP Negeri 12 Bengkulu 80 which is was in the good category and at SMP Negeri 15 Bengkulu was 78.88 which was in the good category. Based on the results of teacher interviews on the implementation of disaster mitigation education in science learning, the teacher's perception was good enough, while according to the students it was good enough but direct demonstrations had not yet been carried out. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of static fluid pressure learning with Predict, Observe, Explain (POE)-oriented student worksheets on the eighth-grade students' science process skills. This research employed a non-equivalent control group design. A total of 166 students from five classes in class VIII at State Junior High School 03 in Bengkulu City represented the research population. Students in class VIII-1 (control group) and class VIII-2 (experimental group), for a total of 58 students, were selected as subjects using non-probability sampling and the convenience sampling method. By applying non-parametric inferential statistics, particularly the Mann-Whitney U test, the hypothesis was examined. The results confirm that the use of POE-oriented worksheets in learning the concept of pressure in static fluids has a statistically positive effect at the significance level (0.05) with a p-value (0.003) on science process skills, and the effect size (r=0.39) is in the medium category. The availability of worksheets that rely on scaffolding strategies such as POE may enable students in secondary schools to construct their own knowledge during the learning process.The provision of worksheets that employ scaffolding techniques, such as the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) approach, has the potential to facilitate the development of students' knowledge construction and science process abilities in secondary school settings.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk dan mengetahui kelayakan e-modul IPA Terpadu untuk melatihkan keterampilan generik sains siswa pada materi energi dalam sistem kehidupan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan 4D yang pada penerapannya dibatasi menjadi 3D yaitu define, design, dan development. Hasil analisis angket kebutuhan guru di sekolah tersebut didapatkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 91% dengan kategori “sangat setuju”, sedangkan hasil analisis angket kebutuhan siswa di sekolah tersebut didapatkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 86% dengan kategori “sangat setuju”. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat melalui penyebaran angket kebutuhan guru dan siswa tersebut bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan sangat dibutuhkan oleh guru dan siswa di sekolah tersebut. Hasil validasi ahli materi terhadap produk akhir e-modul diperoleh persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 87,5% dengan kategori “sangat layak”, sedangkan pada validasi ahli media terhadap produk akhir emodul diperoleh persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 100% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Hasil uji keterbacaan produk oleh guru diperoleh persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 88% dengan kategori “sangat layak”, sedangkan hasil uji keterbacaan produk oleh siswa diperoleh persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 86,5% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan uji keterbacaan guru dan siswa yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan sudah ”sangat layak” untuk dilanjutkan pada uji coba lapangan.   Kata kunci: Penelitian dan Pengembangan, E-Modul, Keterampilan Generik Sains   ABSTRACT   This research is a research and development (R&D) which aims to produce a product and find out the feasibility of the integrated science e-module to train students' generik science skills on energy matter in living systems. The development model used in this study is a 4D development model which in its application is limited to 3D, namely define, design, and development. The results of the questionnaire analysis of teacher needs at the school obtained an average percentage of 91% with the "strongly agree" category, while the results of the questionnaire analysis on student needs at the school obtained an average percentage of 86% with the "strongly agree" category. Based on the results obtained through the distribution of the questionnaire on the needs of teachers and students, the e-module developed is very much needed by teachers and students at the school. The results of material expert validation on the final e-module product obtained an average score percentage of 87.5% with the "very decent" category, while the media expert validation of the e-module final product obtained an average score percentage of 100% with the “very decent” category. The results of the product readability test by the teacher obtained an average score percentage of 88% in the "very decent" category, while the results of the product readability test by students obtained an average score percentage of 86.5% in the "very decent" category. Based on expert validation and the teacher and student readability tests that have been carried out, it can be said that the e-module developed is feasible to be continued in field trials.   Keywords: Research and Development, E-Module, Science Generic Skill

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Pembelajaran IPA merupakan salah satu pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dengan pendekatan etnosains. Pembelajaran yang memadukan etnosains dan sains ilmiah mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep-konsep sains ilmiah dan pembelajaran lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan merekonstruksi bahan ajar IPA tentang pengetahuan lokal masyarakat tanaman jarak pagar berbasis MER (Model of Educational Reconstruction) dengan terintegrasi materi partikel penyusun benda dan makhluk hidup yang layak. Prosedur pengembangan bahan ajar menggunakan model RnD (Research and Development) dengan 3 tahapan, yaitu Define, Design, dan Develop. Berdasarkan hasil analisis konsepsi peserta didik pada tahap define, sebanyak 62,68% peserta didik tidak paham konsep terhadap materi tersebut, sehingga perlu dimunculkan konteks etnosains dalam bahan ajar agar peserta didik lebih memahami konsep.  Berdasakan hasil validasi para ahli dengan mendapatkan skor 0,895 dan 0,87 dengan kriteria layak dan dapat diuji keefektifannya.   Kata  kunci: MER, Bahan Ajar, Etnosains, Jarak Pagar (Jatropha curcas L)   ABSTRACT   Science learning is one of the lessons that can be used with an ethnoscience approach. Learning that combines ethnoscience and scientific science can increase students’ understanding of science concepts and make learning more meaningful. This study aims to reconstruct natural science teaching materials abiut local knowledge of Jatropha curcas communities based on MER (Model of Educational Reconstruction) with integrated particle material that makes up objects and viable living things .The procedure of developing teaching materials uses the RnD (Research and Development) model with 3 stages, namely define, design, and develop. Based on the results of the analysis of students’ conceptions at the define stage, as many as 62,68% of students don’t understand the concept of the material, so it is necessary to bring up the ethnoscience context in teaching materials so that students better understand the concept. Based on the results of the validation of the experts by getting a score of 0,895 and 0,87 with feasible criteria and can be tested for effectiveness.   Keywords: MER, Teaching Materials, Ethnoscience, Jatropha (Jatropha curcas L)

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan etnosains dalam proses pembuatan rebung asam pada materi bioteknologi terhadap meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Kota Bengkulu dengan sampel kelas IX C berjumlah 31 orang siswa. Penentuan sampel tersebut menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar tes yang berbentuk soal pilihan ganda. Hasil uji peningkatan belajar siswa skor  0,68 sehingga termasuk kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh etnosains dalam proses pembuatam rebung asam pada materi bioteknologi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang.   Kata kunci:  Etnosains, Rebung Asam, Bioteknologi, Hasil Belajar   ABSTRACT   This research is a pra-experimental study that aims to determine the effect of the use of ethnoscience in the process of making sour bamboo shoots on biotechnology material on improving the learning outcomes of students in class IX SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City. This research used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class IX SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City with a sample of class IX C totalling 31 students. Determination of the sample using Purposive Sampling technique. The research instrument was a test sheet in the form of multiple choice questions. The test results of student learning improvement  score 0.68 so that it is included in the medium category. The results of this study concluded that there was an effect of ethnoscience in the process of making tamarind bamboo shoots on biotechnology material to improve student learning outcomes and student learning outcomes increased with a moderate category.   Keywords: Ethnoscience, Bamboo Shoots, Biotechnology, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Berdasarkan hasil observasi di SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu, guru membutuhkan inovasi bahan ajar IPA yang dapat mendukung kebutuhan siswa tunagrahita dalam belajar IPA salah satunya dalam bentuk bahan ajar berupa handout elektronik bergambar. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan handout elektronik bergambar tema keanekaragaman hewan berbasis KOKO (kontekstual dan kooperatif) untuk siswa tunarahita dengan melihat kelayakan produk dan respon guru. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4-D. terdiri dari 4 tahap, mulai dari pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Namun penelitian ini dibatasi pada tahap develop saja. Jenis data yang diperoleh adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada aspek materi dinyatakan sangat layak dengan presentase 93%, aspek bahasa didapat presentase 94% dengan kategori sangat layak dan aspek media didapat presentase 95% dengan kategori sangat layak Sehingga handout elektronik yang dikembangkan ini sangat layak untuk dilanjutkan pada tahap uji lapangan.  Hasil analisis dari validasi isi menggunakan rumus Aiken V. Nilai validitas isi untuk aspek materi adalah 0,91 dengan kriteria validitas tinggi, nilai validitas isi untuk aspek bahasa adalah 0,92 dengan kriteria validitas tinggi. Nilai validitas isi untuk aspek media adalah 0,93 dengan kriteria validitas tinggi. Nilai validitas isi rata-rata untuk total hasil validasi adalah 0,94 dengan kriteria validitas tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru terhadap handout elektronik bergambar tema keanekaragaman hewan berbasis KOKO (Kontekstual dan Kooperatif) subtema perkembangbiakan hewan di SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu didapat hasil 93 % respon guru dinyatakan sangat baik.   Kata kunci: Tunagrahita, Handout Elektronik, KOKO. ABSTRACT   Based on the results of observations at SLB Negeri 5 Bengkulu City, teachers need innovative science teaching materials that can support the needs of mentally retarded students in learning, one of which is in the form of teaching materials in the form of illustrated electronic handouts. This study aims to produce electronic handouts with the theme of animal diversity based on KOKO (Contextual and cooperative) for mentally retarded students by looking at the feasibility of the product and the teacher's response. This research is a developmental research with a 4-D model. consists of 4 stages, starting from definition, design, development, and deployment. However, this research is limited to the develop stage only. The types of data obtained are qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the material aspect was declared very feasible with a percentage of 93%, the language aspect was obtained with a percentage of 94% with a very feasible category and the media aspect was obtained with a percentage of 95% with a very feasible category. So that the electronic handout developed is very feasible to continue at the field test stage. The results of the analysis of content validation used the Aiken V formula. The content validity value for the material aspect was 0.91 with high validity criteria, the content validity value for the language aspect was 0.92 with high validity criteria. The content validity value for the media aspect is 0.93 with high validity criteria. The average content validity value for the total validation results is 0.94 with high validity criteria. Based on the results of the teacher's response questionnaire to the electronic handout with the theme of animal diversity based on the KOKO (Contextual and Cooperative) animal breeding sub-theme at SLB Negeri 5 Bengkulu City, the results of 93% of the teacher's response were stated to be very good.  Keywords: Mentally Retarded, Electronic Handout, KOKO.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan dan melatih siswa dan guru di SMP dan SMA Idhata Kota Bengkulu untuk memanfaatkan simulasi interaktif PhET (Physics Education Technology) dalam Pembelajaran IPA. Metode pelatihan yang dilakukan adalah metode ceramah berbantuan power point dan demonstrasi. Jumlah peserta pelatihan yang hadir adalah sebanyak 19 orang. Hasil pelatihan adalah guru dan siswa memperoleh wawasan mengenai simulasi interaktif PhET sebagai alternatif dalam melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum IPA. Guru dan siswa telah memahami tata cara mengunduh dan menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET. Guru juga telah memahami cara membuat Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) untuk membantu siswa melakukan praktikum menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pengabdian ini bermanfaat bagi guru dan siswa dalam mempersiapkan dan melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum IPA menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET. Kata kunci: Pelatihan, Simulasi Interaktif PhET, Pembelajaran IPA Abstract This service aims to provide insight and train students and teachers at SMP and SMA Idhata Bengkulu City to utilize interactive PhET (Physics Education Technology) simulations in Learning Science. The training method used is the lecture method with the help of power points and demonstrations. The number of training participants who attended was 19 people. The result of the training is that teachers and students gain insight into PhET interactive simulations as an alternative in carrying out science practicum activities. Teachers and students understand how to download and use interactive PhET simulations. Teachers also understand how to make Student Worksheets (LKPD) to help students carry out practicums using interactive PhET simulations. Based on this, this service is useful for teachers and students in preparing and carrying out science practicum activities using PhET interactive simulations.
