Abstract

ABSTRAK Ikan kerapu termasuk salah satu komoditas perikanan laut bernilai ekonomis penting. Ikan kerapu macan memiliki beberapa keunggulan diantaranya nilai gizi yang tinggi dan pertumbuhan yang lebih cepat daripada ikan kerapu jenis lain. Salah satu permasalahan dalam budidaya ikan kerapu macan adalah serangan penyakit. Salah satu cara untuk mencegah terjadinya penyakit ialah meningkatkan imunitas ikan. Daun jeruju (Acanthus ilicifolius) merupakan bahan herbal yang diduga mampu meningkatkan imunitas ikan kerapu macan. Peningkatan imunitas ikan dapat diketahui dengan memeriksa profil darahnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun jeruju (Acanthus ilicifolius) terhadap profil darah ikan kerapu macan meliputi jumlah eritrosit, jumlah leukosit, diferensial leukosit dan aktivitas fagositosis. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan Rancangan  Acak Lengkap  (RAL)  dengan  4  perlakuan  dan  3  ulangan. Dosis ekstrak daun jeruju yang digunakan adalah: perlakuan A (0 gr/kg); perlakuan B (5 gr/kg); perlakuan C (10 gr/kg); dan perlakuan D  (15  gr/kg). Pemberian ekstrak daun jeruju melalui pakan dilakukan selama 14 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun jeruju berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah eritrosit (P<0,05) dan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah leukosit (P<0,01) namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap diferensial leukosit dan aktivitas fagositosis ikan kerapu macan (P>0,05). ABSTRACT Grouper is one of economically commodity fish. Tiger grouper has several advantages including high nutritional value and rapid growth than other types of grouper. One of the problems in the tiger grouper culture  is a disease. One way to prevent the disease is to improve the immunity of fish, Jeruju leaf extracts is one of the herbal material which can increased fish imunity. Increased of fish immunity can be detected by examining of blood profile. The purpose of this experiment is determine the effect of jeruju leaf extract  (Acanthus ilicifolius) on the blood profile of tiger grouper i.e. : number of erythrocyte, leukocyte, differential leukocyte, and phagocyty activity. The design of the experiment is a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Jeruju (acanthus ilicifolius) leaf extracts were mixed with the artificial feed at concentrations of 0 g/kg ,5 g/kg, 10g/kg and 15 g/kg and  had been fed to grouper for 14 days period. The results showed that administration of jeruju leaf extract significantly effect on the number of erythrocytes (P<0.05) and highly significant effect on  the number of leukocytes (P <0.01) but no significant effect (P>0,05) on differential leukocyte, and phagocyty activity of tiger grouper.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the administration of rice washing water in culture medium on the growth performance of Daphnia sp. This research using three different doses of rice washing water i.e 1 mL/L, 3mL/L, and 5 mL/L. Daphnia sp. was cultured with an initial density of 20 ind/L. Observed parameters include growth parameters (population density, size and specific growth rate) and water quality. This result showed that a concentration of 3 mL/L created the highest population of Daphnia sp. density about 620±20 ind/L, number small size (young stage) 81.2%, and the highest specific growth rate about 56.68±0.55%. The water quality content of  DO, temperature and pH during this study were in the good range of Daphnia sp. life and reproduction. The research has a conclusion that rice washing water can be used to nutritional sources of Daphnia sp. In the future, it is necessary to make further observations about the reproductive performance of Daphnia sp, given rice washing water through clone culture.Keywords: Live food, Population density, Rice washing water, Size of Daphnia sp., Specific growth rate

Abstract

Ikan padi Oryzias javanicus adalah spesies yang euryhaline, mudah dipelihara, dan dikembangbiakkan sehingga dapat menjadi ikan model untuk penelitian di laboratorium. Ikan ini juga memiliki potensi sebagai ikan hias untuk akuaskap. Budidaya ikan O. javanicus belum populer sehingga pengadaan ikan ini mengandalkan hasil tangkapan alam. Ikan liar hasil tangkapan alam membutuhkan adaptasi di dalam wadah terkontrol. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi performa adaptasi awal yaitu kepadatan ikan selama pengangkutan sistem tertutup. Kondisi yang terlalu padat berdampak pada performa adaptasi ikan yang kurang baik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji performa adaptasi O. javanicus selama pemeliharaan pascapengangkutan. Performa berkaitan dengan sintasan, tingkah laku, dan jumlah telur selama 15 hari pemeliharaan. Kepadatan ikan yaitu 24 ekor/L (perlakuan A) dan 40 ekor/L (perlakuan B) yang dikemas selama 6 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengangkutan ikan O. javanicus dapat dilakukan dengan kepadatan 40 ekor/L selama 6 jam. Kepadatan tersebut menghasilkan sintasan saat pengangkutan yaitu 100%, sintasan selama pemeliharaan pascapengangkutan yaitu 92,00%, tingkah laku adaptasi yang baik, sehingga menghasilkan total telur 522 butir selama 15 hari pemeliharaan. Kata kunci: adaptasi pascapengangkutan, Oryzias javanicus, sintasan, tingkah laku adaptasi

Abstract

Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Garang merupakan DAS yang membentang dari hulu di perbukitan Kabupaten Semarang dan hilir di pesisir Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah yang memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi masyarakat sekitar dan organisme akuatik. Kegiatan yang dilakukan di DAS Garang adalah pengambilan air baku dari PDAM Kota Semarang, daur ulang air untuk minuman di hulu, pertanian, perkebunan, industri, pemukiman, peternakan, perikanan dan pertanian di hilir. Kegiatan industri dan permukiman ini berpotensi mencemari DAS. DAS Garang terbagi menjadi 7 segmen yang bertujuan untuk menjaga kelestarian fungsi air dan pemulihan kualitas air sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sesuai peruntukannya. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah kawasan permukiman di daerah hilir pada DAS Garang dan dilakukan wawancara dengan masyarakat pembudidaya ikan dan petani. Hasil analisis wawancara dengan masyarakat dilakukan dengan analisis SWOT. Alternatif strategi yang bisa digunakan dalam hal ini adalah pengotimalan komunitas pembudidaya ikan dan petani yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah bersama dan bekerjasama dalam pengelolaan DAS. Adanya penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan gambaran rekomendasi kepada, pemerintah dan pengusaha, dan masyarakat sehingga terjadi keterpaduan pengelolaan DAS yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Dietary lipid in the forms of fish oil and corn oil are known as the best lipid sources. An effort to find an alternative to lipid sources other than both forms of oil can be done through the use of ts rubber seed oil. The study was conducted to evaluate rubber seed oil as a lipid source in the diet for increasing the growth of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) fingerlings. A tested diet having isoprotein (30.14±0.01%) and isoenergy (271.26±0.08 DE kcal/100g) was used in this study. Fish oil, corn oil, and rubber seed oil at a total of 3% were used as the diet's lipid sources. Rubber seed oil was added to the diet at 0, 1, and 3%, respectively. After acclimatized to the experimental condition, striped catfish fingerlings (9.72±0.01 g) were randomly stocked in 12 aquariums (69x29x35 cm3; Volume 50 L) with a density of 15 fingerlings/container and fed on the tested diet at satiation for 40 days. The use of rubber seed oil as a source of lipid in the diet does not affect the survival rate and body fat (P> 0.05). The composition of 2% rubber seed oil in the feed gives the best growth in striped catfish fingerlings, with feed intake of 233.00±1.00 g, a specific growth rate of 2.01±0.05% day-1, feed efficiency of 75.45 ± 1.18%, protein efficiency ratio of 2.45 ± 0.11% and body protein of 44.03 ± 2.42%. There is a tendency that higher rubber seed oil content in the diet, produce better the fatty acid profile in the body of the striped catfish.

Abstract

Catfish have become an important contributor to fish production in Indonesia. Catfish consumption in Indonesia always increases every year. To meet the demand for catfish consumption, it was carried out with an intensive aquaculture system. However, the high cost of feed has been identified as a significant constraint in catfish farming. Efforts to increase catfish growth are needed to reduce feed costs, one of the efforts is by probiotic supplementation through the feed. This study was carried out to determine the best dose of probiotic rabal dried addition to increasing catfish growth. The experiment used four treatments and three replications. Probiotic rabal dried doses: 0% of feed (A)/feed (control), 5% of feed (B), 10% of feed (C), and (D) 15% of were used as treatment. The feed was given ad-satiation with a frequency of feeding three times a day. Observations were made for 45 days. The results indicated that the B treatment of 5% of feed gave the best absolute weight growth and feed conversion ratio. While catfish fish survival rate was not significantly different on all treatments.

Abstract

Oryzias sp. from Tunda Island, Indonesia has the potential as a model organism in laboratories and also ornamental fish. Basic information regarding maintenance during adaptation post-transportation from its habitat in nature, embryo incubation and maintenance of larvae is needed as a basis for breeding activities. The results showed that Oryzias sp. from Tunda Island can adapt, spawning and produce a total 262 eggs (diameter 0.88-1.02 mm) in a controlled environment. Eggs from spawning in nature begin to hatch on the 11th incubation day, the hatching peak occurs on the 13th day with a hatching process 4-9 days at 25-27oC. The hatching rate ranges from 57.14-100% and the survival of 5 days old lavae after hatching is 72.72-100.00%. The transportation technique in this study has not been able to suppress fish mortality during post-transportation rearing.

Abstract

Catfish is one of the important fish commodities in Indonesia. There is some problem that becomes trouble in catfish culture, and the most trouble which cause losses in catfish culture is a disease, especially motile aeromonads septicemia (MAS). The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of giving dry rabal probiotics for the prevention of motile Aeromonas septicemia (MAS) in catfish (Clarias sp.). This experiment consisted of four treatments, namely catfish farming with the addition of dry rabal probiotics with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%. Catfish (6.03±0.38 g) were reared in a rearing tank with a volume (41x50x57 cm) with a density of 15 fish/aquarium for 50 days. Probiotic bacteria were given daily through feed, while the pathogenic bacteria A. hydrophila was infected on day 51. The results showed that the treatment of giving dry rabal probiotics through feed was effective in improving the immune, and increasing the survival of African catfish. The 10% (C) rabal probiotic treatment gave the best results with the highest survival rate of 75.56 ± 3.85%.

Abstract

Esomus metallicus merupakan spesies ikan yang secara alami tidak tersebar di Indonesia (non-native). Pada beberapa kasus, jenis ikan non-native telah mengancam ekosistem alami di perairan umum. Melalui ekspedisi ilmiah, dilakukan pengamatan yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji respons awal adaptasi pascapengangkutan, yaitu sintasan dan tingkah laku ikan E. metallicus liar di dalam wadah terkontrol. Selain itu, juga dilakukan analisis terhadap potensi pemanfaatan untuk bidang akuakultur, pengolahan hasil perikanan, dan strategi edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang ikan E. metallicus. Ekspedisi dilakukan selama dua hari di bagian barat Pulau Jawa. Ikan diangkut menggunakan sistem tertutup selama 6 jam. Pemeliharaan ikan pascapengangkutan dilakukan selama 14 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sintasan ikan E. metalicus selama pengangkutan yaitu 96,72%. Ikan E. metalicus dapat beradaptasi dengan baik di dalam wadah pemeliharaan terkontrol yang terlihat dari sintasan akhir pengamatan 90,96%, tingkah laku berenang yang aktif secara berkelompok dan telah memakan pakan buatan. Potensi sebagai ikan hias dapat dilihat pada warna sisik metalik, ukuran tubuh yang kecil, dan tingkah laku berenang berkelompok dapat menjadi ikan untuk akuaskap. Selain itu, potensi pemanfaatan ikan ini yaitu sebagai pakan hidup untuk ikan predator, tepung ikan, ikan uji di laboratorium, dan bahan makanan. Kajian lebih lanjut hal tersebut sebagai solusi pengendalian ikan non-native perlu dilakukan. Analisis risiko menunjukkan bahwa E. metallicus termasuk ke dalam spesies risiko sedang. Strategi edukasi terhadap masyarakat perlu dilakukan karena masyarakat menganggap ikan E. metallicus adalah “benteur” atau “paray”, yang merupakan nama lokal untuk ikan dari genus Rasbora asli Indonesia karena kemiripan morfologi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of different concentration of Spirulina platensis supplementation on artificial feed for zebrafish (Danio rerio) to increase growth performance and immunity from environmental pressure. The experimental research was carried out from October until November 2020. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of S. platensis different concentration supplementation on artificial feed for zebrafish (Danio rerio) to increase growth performance and immunity from environmental pressure. The experimental research was carried out from October 2020 until November 2020 at Aquaculture Laboratory, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Serang, Banten. This research used a complete randomized design (CRD) consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Control was commercial pellet which no S. platensis enriched (A), pellet enriched with 3% of S.platensis (B), pellet enriched with 6% of  S. platensis(C), and last treatment were pellet enriched with 9% of  S.platensis (D). The results showed that treatment C was the best dosage of S. platensis for zebrafish rearing for 40 days both growth and immunity performance. Absolute length, Specific growth rate of length, Absolute weight, Specific growth rate of weight were significantly different, but survival rate were not significantly different which were 0.646±0.112g, 0.714±0.10g, 0.102±0.020%, 1.422±0.215%, 100% respectively. Immunity performance was shown by the stress test at low pH. It was also significantly different when exposed to pH at 5 ppt among the treatment. Treatment C was the highest survival rate which was 63.33±5.77% after stress test at low pH.
