Abstract

Genetic evaluation on milk yield production basically based on breeding value. This research was addressed to study milk production curve, for the most appropriate genetic evaluation, and the best methods in estimating genetic parameter and predicting breeding values. Data were collected from PT. Taurus Dairy Farm, consisting of 581 cows having 305 days records in first lactation (P305) and 542 cows having 305 days records in second lactation. Records used for Test Day (TD) evaluation were 5,373 for first lactation, and 4,925 for second lactation. Total records used for Test Day were 10,298. The results indicated that the most suitable curve, being able to be used for genetic evaluation was Ali-Schaeffer with the coefficient of correlation of 0.999, and the most appropriate model for estimation of genetic parameters and prediction of breeding values was fixed regression model with the regression of Ali-Schaeffer by taking account to the covariates. The genetic evaluation can therefore be conducted simultaneously by ignoring lactation levels. Key Words: Test Day, Milk Production Curve, Breeding Value, Dairy Cattle

Abstract

Season, rainfall, day of rain, temperature, humidity, year and farm are fixed effects, which have been reported to influence milk yield. Those factors are often linked together to contribute to the variation of milk production. This research is addressed to study the fixed effect factors, including lactation curve, which should be considered for genetic evaluation of milk yield based on test day records of dairy cattle. The data were taken from four different farms, which were PT. Taurus Dairy Farm, BPPT Cikole, Bandang Dairy Farm, and BBPTU Baturraden. In total of 16806 test day records were evaluated, consisting of 9,302 at first and 7,504 at second lactation, respectively. The results indicated that fixed effects were very specific and the influences had different patterns for each farm. Consequently, in a genetic evaluation, these factors such as lactation, temperature, year, day of rain, and humidity need to be evaluated first.  Ali-Schaeffer curve represented the most appropriate curve to use in the genetic evaluation of dairy cattle in Indonesia. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat kualitatif dan kuantitaif kerbau lokal.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey, penentuan sampel berdasarkan purposive sampling. Lokasi penelitian adalah Kabupaten Serang, Pandeglang dan Kabupaten Lebak Propinsi Banten. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan pengukuran. Jumlah kerbau yang diteliti sebanyak 300 ekor terdiri atas 150 ekor kerbau jantan dan 150 ekor kerbau betina dewasa. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian diperoleh  sifat kualitatif untuk  warna kulit dan kaki adalah abu-abu gelap, bentuk tanduk umumnya melingkar ke  bawah, garis kalung ganda,  unyeng-unyeng ditemukan pada kepala, pundak dan pinggul.  Ukuran-ukuran tubuh  kerbau jantan dan betina  berturut-turut: lingkar dada (cm) 171,98±5,00; 161,33±4,83; dalam dada (cm) 65,13±3,97; 59,53±5,76; panjang badan (cm) 122,10±6,40; 120,00±2,03; tinggi pundak (cm) 130,02±2,80; 118,99±3,20;  tinggi pinggul (cm) 103,42±2,27; 105,28±2,87; lebar pinggul (cm) 32,50±1.61; 31,41±1,39;  panjang kepala (cm) 41,99±1,42; 41,39±1,55; lebar kepala (cm) 20,21±1.83; 19,30±1,15; lebar ambing (cm) ; 47,15±5,20; lebar teracak (cm) 15,89±1,77; 14,84±1,07; dan lingkar skrotum (cm) 15,88±0,67. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) ukuran  tinggi pundak, tinggi pinggul, panjang kepala, lingkar skrotum serta lebar teracak pada kerbau jantan dan betina pada subpopulasi Serang, Pandeglang dan Lebak, akan tetapi terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,05)  ukuran lebar pinggul, panjang badan, lingkar dada, dalam dada, dan lebar kepala. Kerbau yang berada di lokasi penelitian dari kajian sifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif dapat digolongkan sebagai kerbau lumpur.Kata Kunci:  keragaan sifat kualitatif, sifat kuantitatif, kerbau lokal

Abstract

Basis populasi Sapi Pasundan di Kabupaten Majalengka hanya di Kecamatan Kertajatidan menyebar di sepuluh desa, namunsejak tahun 2014 mengalami degradasi daya dukung lahan akibat alih fungsi lahan hutan. Penurunan daya dukung ini mengakibatkan migrasi ternak ke luar wilayah. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan frekuensi gen, nilai keseimbangan populasi dan Effective Population Size (EPS) pada Sapi Pasundan di Kabupaten Majalengka, sejak September sampai November 2015. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif, pemilihan sampel ternak menggunakan stratified random sampling,dan pengukuran sebaran genotip menggunakan pola protein albumin darah. Struktur populasi diukur berdasarkan basis  populasi pada wilayah yang menjadi  daya dukungnya. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan daya dukung wilayah di Kecamatan Kertajati disebabkan oleh alih fungsi lahan   menjadi Bandara Internasional dan Perubahan pola tanaman hutan dari Jati menjadi tanaman Karet. Hal   ini menyebabkan migrasi ternak ke wilayah lain ke Sumedang dan Indramayu.

Abstract

Aksara Sunda Cacarakan merupakan salah satu warisan budaya Indonesia. Pelestarian Aksara Sunda Cacarakan adalah tugas yang harus dilakukan oleh masyarakat Indonesia sebagai salah satu cara untuk melindungi keberadaan Aksara Sunda Cacarakan, salah satunya dengan mengetahui jenis Aksara Sunda Cacarakan yang dibagi menjadi 4 bagian, seperti ngalagena, angka, swara dan rarangken. Implementasi dari Teknologi Informasi (TI) merupakan suatu keharusan untuk dilakukan sebagai inovasi untuk mendapatkan berbagai macam informasi. Upaya untuk memperkenalkan Aksara Sunda adalah dengan membuat Game Edukasi berbasis Android, Game edukasi dibangun dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan anak-anak dalam pengenalan aksara Sunda Cacarakan, maka untuk penelitian ini, dibuat sebuah Game edukasi berbasis android dengan menggunakan Algoritma Fisher yates Shuffle. Algoritma Fisher Yates adalah algoritma untuk menghasilkan permutasi acak dari himpunan terbatas, dengan kata lain untuk mengacak suatu himpunan. Algoritma Fisher yates shuffle di terapkan dalam pengacakan soal di dalam Game edukasi, Model sistem untuk mendukung penelitian ini menggunakan versi Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC), yang mengemukakan enam langkah (Initiation, Pre-Production, Production, Testing,  Beta, dan Release). Penilaian tanggapan dari responden menggunakan skala Likert. Skala likert memilrata–rata rumus index yang diperoleh dari responden, aspek kegunaan sebesar 80,5%, aspek kualitas interaksi sebesar 87,5% dan aspek kualitas informasi sebesar 82%, termasuk dalam kategori sangat setuju, sehingga game dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dan dipublikasikan.

Abstract

Muscovy duck development can be influenced by reproductive performance, including mating behavior. The purpose of the study was to obtain the quantitative characteristics of the Ciayumajakuning Muscovy duck mating and to obtain the best antog in its mating characteristics. The research method was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The parameters observed were mating frequency, mating duration, mating time, and mating location. The results showed that the quantitative characteristics of the antog Kuningan showed a significant difference in the frequency of mating with the drake and duck and the duration of mating was higher than that of the Cirebon, Indramayu, and Majalengka Muscovy duck. This is supported by data on the frequency of mating with 7.4 drake and duck 2 times/day, and the mating duration is 119.4 seconds. The mating time of the Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan Muscovy duck did not show a significant difference, namely more in the first and second quarters at 06.01-12.00 WIB and 12.01-16.00 WIB. The mating location is in zone 1 in the area near the place of feed and drinking water. In conclusion, Muscovy duck Kuningan has the best marital characteristics.

Abstract

Garut District is one of Pasundan Cows Population in West Java, The modus of population is the south coast. The aim of the research is to determinate about dispersion population of Pasundan cows at Garut District based on geographic condition themselves and migration pattern them. The research was done from  December 2019 until January 2020 at basic population area. The method using is descriptive, so survey was done on area basic population based on topography, agronomy, temperature, rainfall, humidity and hydrology. The result of this research is the dispersion population of Pasundan Cows at Cibalong, Pameungpeuk and Cikelet sub district that have villages with sloping and flat topography (land slope  under 450) on height from sea level under 500 hsl, air temperature 25-32 ºC  on rain fall 2000-25000 mm/year. Their climatology adapted with agro climatology and hydrology on grazing. The hydrology is influenced Cikaso, Cibaluk and Cieurih River. Mekarmukti and Caringin Sub District are not basic population of Pasundan Cows, because two area is a exclusive gardeners. The migration among animal is influenced geographic condition it. Conclusion of this research is dispersion of Pasundan Cows Population is influenced the geographic condition, as agro climatology, topography, temperature, rainfall, humidity and hydrology that enveloping grazing area.

Abstract

Biological characteristics covering qualitative and quantitative traits are essential to study phenotypic characteristics in livestock farming. This research investigates the quantitative attributes of Muscovy duck in Ciayumajakuning (Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan Regency), West Java, Indonesia. Observations were conducted on 673 Muscovy ducks aged six months using a survey method with a sample selection of multistage probability stratified random sampling. Data analysis uses univariate and multivariate discriminant analysis. The quantitative data shows that the body size of a drake is more significant than the duck. Drake from Cirebon has a close kinship with Drake from Majalengka and Kuningan, but they have a distant relationship with Indramayu Muscovy ducks. Duck from Cirebon has a close kinship with ducks from Indramayu and Majalengka, but they have a distant relationship with ducks from Kuningan. It is concluded that the quantitative traits of the Muscovy duck in Ciayumajakuning are diverse. Keywords: Quantitative Traits, Muscovy duck, Ciayumajakuning
