<![CDATA[Persaingan global dalam berbagai bidang menuntut penguasaan kompetensi skill danakademik yang memadai dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Dalam upaya peningkatankualitas sumber daya manusia didunia pendidikan, penguasaan bahasa asing, terutamabahasa Inggris, merupakan suatu hal yang sanga tpenting. Hal ini didasari atas bahasaInggris adalah bahasa global yang digunakan pada era saat ini. Berdasarkan analisayang telah dilakukan, pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-KifayahPekanbaru belum terlaksana dengan dengan baik, dan juga untuk persamaan persepsidalam pengajaran antara guru Bahasa Inggris dan wali murid juga belum terjalindengan baik. Atas dasar analisa tersebut maka diadakanlah pelatihan “PenyamaanPersepsi Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris antara Guru dan Wali Murid bagi Anak UsiaSekolah Dasar” yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalammenguasai Bahasa Inggris. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan iniadalah metode ceramah, diskusi, dan role play. Adapun hasil Hasil kegiatan pengabdiankepada masyarakat ini mendapatkan sambutan yang sangat positif dari pihak mitra yakniMadrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru karena program ini sesuai dengankebutuhan mereka. Bentuk sambutan yang sangat positif tersebut adalah terlihat daripartisipasi seluruh peserta pelatihan baik guru bahasa Inggris maupun wali murid yanghadir pada pelatihan tersebut sangat aktif dalam mengikuti seluruh proses kegiatan]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia didunia pendidikan, penguasaan bahasa asing, terutama bahasa Inggris, merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting. Hal ini didasari atas bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa global yang digunakan pada era saat ini. Berdasarkan analisa yang telah dilakukan, penerapan penggunaan bahasa Inggris oleh guru dan karyawab di SMA IT Fadhilah belum terlaksana dengan dengan baik. Atas dasar analisa tersebut maka diadakanlah pelatihan “Menguasai Speaking Skill Bahasa Inggris dengan Konsep English Day bagi Guru dan Karyawan SMA IT Fadhilah Pekanbaru” yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris guru dan karyawan. English day bisa menjadi program yang tepat bagi guru, siswa dan karyawan ditingkat sekolah maupun universitas. English day adalah program untuk melatih dan membiasakan penggunaan Bahasa Inggris dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Dimana mengharuskan para peserta untuk berbahasa Inggris dalam waktu yang telah disepakati. Para peserta tidak boleh menggunakan Bahasa selain bahasa Inggris pada waktu English day berlangsung. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktek. Adapun hasil Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mendapatkan sambutan yang sangat positif dari pihak mitra yakni Sekolah Menengah Atas Islam Terpadu Fadhilah Pekanbaru karena program ini sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Bentuk sambutan yang sangat positif tersebut adalah terlihat dari partisipasi seluruh peserta pelatihan baik guru maupun karyawan yang hadir pada pelatihan tersebut sangat aktif dalam mengikuti seluruh proses kegiatan.]]>

<![CDATA[The basic speaking training community service program which is one of the pillars in Higher Education Institution such as Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau is carried out aimed at providing an overview of the importance of knowledge about English and motivation concerning the mastery of English. This was done to make it easier for trainees to understand how certain expressions and vocabulary can be applied in international activities such as the International Youth Exchange Program, International Internships, Scholarship Interviews and so forth. Based on these objectives, the target to be achieved in this program is to provide knowledge of the participants, to develop the ability to speak English so that they can pass international programs, scholarships and continue their postgraduate degree. To achieve the goals and targets of community service activities, the implementers use lecture, discussion, think pair and share, and problem-based learning methods, so that the trainees can easily understand the material provided. The activities carried out and participated by program participants came from various University and Higher Education graduates in Riau. The training participants were very enthusiastic about participating. This was evidenced by the large number of participants who were active in the discussion and enthusiastic in taking the activities.]]>

<![CDATA[The community service undertaken aims to provide training to the teachers of SMPIT Madani Pekanbaru in order to increase the ability of teachers to understand the concept of material provided by presenters from various sources from seminars, workshops, FGDs or other activities, make it easier for teachers to remember the material presented and be more focused and also help teachers in compiling and processing information obtained through interesting notes so that they are easier to recall what they got in the material delivered by the presenters. To achieve the objectives of this community service (PPM) activity, the implementers used the lecture, discussion and practicum methods so that the trainees could easily understand the material provided at the training. The activities carried out were participated by the teachers at SMPIT Madani Pekanbaru. This activity is on target as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the teacher in following the entire process of activities. They are very active in discussing and interacting when given a material concept and instructing them to take notes with various Note-taking Systems. <![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris materi functional text dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang layak bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Kalasan Yogyakarta, serta mengetahui keefektifan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development, RD). Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris materi functional text dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang layak bagi siswa kelas VII SMP yang dikemas dalam sebuah CD. Produk yang dihasilkan layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran berdasarkan validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa. (2) Produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan pendekatan komunikatif bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Kalasan ini efektif untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran materi functional text. Peningkatan skor postes siswa setelah menggunakan produk multimedia pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebesar 64.5% dengan nilai (N-gain) 0.74 dan ketuntasan belajar siswa (KKM) sebesar 93.5%. Sedangkan kelas sebelum menggunakan produk multimedia pembelajaran bahasa Inggris memiliki nilai (N-gain) siswa sebesar 0.33 dan ketuntasan belajar siswa (KKM) sebesar 29.03%.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak This study explores an improving students’ reading comprehension by using problem-based learning strategy by formulating quasi-experimental design of Darma Yudha Junior High School. Reading is one of subject that some of Indonesia students faced many difficulties to understand for some reasons. The strategy selection has an important role to create the expectation of the teachers that can be answered by the implementation of creative method, interested materials or enjoyable learning process. Problem-based learning (PBL) is one of strategy of expressing ideas to experience real life context to build critical thinking and problem solving skill. In problem-based learning, students work in collaborative groups to identify what they need to learn in order to solve a problem. The goals of problem-based learning include helping students develop; 1) flexible knowledge, 2) effective problem-solving skills, 3) effective collaboration skills, 4) life-wide learning and 5) intrinsic motivation. In other hand; PBL is well suited to helping students become active learners because it situates learning in real-world problems and makes students responsible for their learning. Based on the result of research, it is found that PBL is one of instructional strategy that offers potentials help to improve students’ reading comprehension and motivation. <![CDATA[Abstract The objectives of the research were to investigate the influence of PGR technique toward student’s ability to distinguish between Gerund and Present Participle and to know the students’ ability to distinguish both of them. The researcher applied quasi experimental method and quasi experimental design (time series) O1, O2, O3, O4, O5, O6 to find the “t” value of the scores and percentage to calculate the data from the tests. The research was conducted at the third semester students of English Education Department Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Science Pakuan University Bogor. The researcher choose purposive sampling to take one class from 5 (five) classes and 21 (twenty one) students as the sample. The result of the research shows that there is a positive influence of PGR technique and it is proved by the “t” table of the research 4.47 which is higher than the critical value of “t” with 0.01 level of significance (2.845) and the level of 0.05 (2.086) for two tailed test. The result of the tests also shown that the students will be easier understand the difference between gerund and present participle by PGR technique. <![CDATA[This research aimed to determine the employability skills of English Education students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau. This research conducted because there are some students who do not have work competence, have not mastered ICT (Information and Communication Technology), have not been able to communicate in English well and think critically, less innovative, and have not been problem solving oriented. This study used a qualitative approach in data collection, while the data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The population and sample are English Education students in the even semester of 2021. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study will be stated in the form of publications articles in the Sinta 2 Accredited National Journal in the field of English education. The article will be published in the journal Eralingua. In addition to accredited national journals, research results will be published in Scopus indexed international journals as additional outputs, namely the International Journal of Instruction and produce a Manuscript, and Copyright recorded by the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.]]>

<![CDATA[Learning is considered a standard for the success of knowledge transfer through specific processes in learning activities. Information and communication technology development has brought enormous changes to the advancement of education. Along with these developments, learning methods have undergone teaching processes. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The study aimed to determine the development of web-based learning media on the ability and willingness expression 8th-grade junior high school students. The results of this beta test are analyzed and used as input to improve the final product. The effectiveness test was carried out on students to determine the learning outcomes after using learning media products. The data analysis technique for web-based products' feasibility uses a Likert scale. The assessment score obtained a value in the Very Good category from the comprehensive test. This web-based learning product is effectively used as a learning media. The results of students' understanding tests on the Ability and Willingness Expression using Web-Based Learning Media can be seen from the results. Which showed an increase in learning outcomes from the pretest score to the post-test value or (N-Gain) score; of 0.71 with the category "very goodâ€.]]>
