Abstract

This paper proposes a definition of Creative Learning Community (CLC) that is enabled with technology and its conceptual model in Graduate School of Telkom University. As rooted to learning community term, CLC is defined as a teaching and learning approach within a learning community that consists of a group of students and faculty member that uses creative learning concept. This study adapts the Design Science Research Framework in Information System by Hevner et al to build the conceptual model. First, the study synthesizes existing literature on learning community and creative learning community to define CLC term. Second, based on a review of previous studies and books on learning community, creative thinking, group creativity, engaged learning, student learning outcomes and technology supporting creative learning community, the author analyzes construct candidates of the model. Third, after selecting constructs from the candidates, the study continues by designing the conceptual model of technology-enabled creative learning community. The model was tested the implementations of learning community in Graduate School of Telkom University. The findings provide several conceptual and managerial insights into the role of technology in supporting creative learning community. Future work will need to evaluate the model in the context of other engineering.

Abstract

The delivery of appropriate learning content can be one of the factors that can increase satisfaction, motivation, and interest of learners during learning sessions. But on the other hand, due to a large amount of learning content available on LMS (Learning Management System) and the difficulty of determining learning content that suits the needs and interests of each learner, it often causes some learning content to be overlooked by them. Therefore, this paper aims to design a personalized learning content system in LMS for learners. The main objective of this study is to provide learning content suggestions or recommendations for learners, based on the course module they previously accessed by applying Collaborative Filtering method. This method is used by utilizing dataset in the form of implicit feedback, obtained from the activities of learners when interacting with LMS. The UAT (User Acceptance Test) results show that the personalization system has been well received by as many as 82.67% of learners based on three aspects, those are interface, user, and system interaction aspects. Moreover, the MAE (Mean Absolute Error) calculation shows that this system has the best accuracy rate at a 10% sparsity level with the lowest average value of 0.4514.

Abstract

Good performance for a student during a course is important because it can affect the student's final index. However, in general, student performance can only be seen at the end of the semester, so if a student has a poor performance before the course ends, they do not get enough opportunity to improve. Therefore, it is necessary to have an early analysis of students who have poor performance in a course. Since most student learning activities in this pandemic era are currently on the LMS, the LMS activity log can reflect student performance. The main objective of this study is to classify the LMS activity log in a course using a probabilistic classifier algorithm. This study chose Naïve Bayes to classify student performance into three categories – good, satisfactory, and poor. The dataset is separated into two scenarios – the half-semester and the full-semester - in the Modeling and Database Implementation course at Telkom University. The results show that the Naïve Bayes Algorithm successfully predicts student performance early and provides information about students experiencing changes in performance with the highest accuracy of 93%. The practical implication of this study is that teachers can use the LMS activity log for early prediction of student success in passing a course. The learning analytics developed in this study prove that Naïve Bayes has a fairly good performance for small dataset sizes based on recall and accuracy to classify student performance. However, as the study focuses solely on a specific course and small dataset sizes, it lacks generalizability. Therefore, it needs to be tested for other courses and larger dataset sizes.

Abstract

Utilization of Information Technology (IT) in companies today is an important element to support the effectiveness & efficiency of business processes. This research set PT ABC as a case study place. In utilizing its IT assets, the company has a division that is responsible for managing and managing the company's IT assets, namely the IT Asset division. The IT Asset Division of the Company has never conducted a security risk analysis on its IT assets. In helping companies to determine the level of information security of their IT assets, an analysis of the information security risks of these assets will be carried out. This study uses the OCTAVE Allegro method in analyzing the company's IT assets. OCTAVE Allegro consists of eight stages and is grouped into four phases. The research resulted in 5 risks from 7 IT assets which were analyzed and made into a Risk Register document. Furthermore, the researcher recommends ISO 27002:2014 control of the IT asset risk as a mitigation measure

Abstract

Strategic planning is an essential part of the college life cycle; a critical aspect of planning is the digital transformation of universities. Digital transformation supports university business processes and is a riving engine for universities to adapt to changes to provide added value for the best services for all stakeholders. To achieve this, universities need an overview of the maturity level of digital transformation that has been achieved today. This research produces a new methodology for assessment in a holistic framework as an indicator of measuring the maturity level of digital transformation.This measuring tool must be easy to use by universities when they will take measurements for all academics and easily understood by all respondents who are determined to provide an accurate picture of the maturity level of digital transformation. The final result is presented in the form of a framework that contains a standard value index of maturity level, and recommendations for digital transformation as a form of self-evaluation for higher education strategic planning

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan yang diselenggarakan di Kelompok Pendidikan Terpadu Telkom Makassar ini adalah program pengabdian pada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk membantu pihak pengelola pendidikan Telkom Schools dalam memanfaatkan penggunaan WhatsApp (WA) sebagai sarana penyebaran informasi kepada sivitas akademika yg didapatkan melalui assesstment awal permasalahan mitra dalam mendiseminasikan informasi. Dengan menggunakan aplikasi penyebaran informasi melalui WA ini, diharapkan informasi-informasi penting dan sifatnya dinamis dapat sampai dalam waktu yang singkat dan efektif kepada orang tua siswa maupun siswa. Selain melalui aplikasi, aplikasi ini dilengkapi dengan Application Programming Interface (API) sehingga memungkinkan pengiriman informasi dapat diintegrasikan dengan aplikasi-aplikasi yang lain seperti Sistem Informasi Akademik maupun Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini membutuhkan waktu lebih kurang enam bulan, yang meliputi observasi dan diskusi awal, pembuatan aplikasi, pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi, pembuatan video dokumentasi, serta pembuatan laporan akhir. Pelatihan diberikan kepada kepala sekolah maupun admin masing-masing sekolah melalui aplikasi zoom. Hasil dari pengabdian masyarakat ini diperoleh feedback pelaksanaan pelatihan yaitu sebesar 60% setuju dan 40% sangat setuju bahwa materi yang disampaikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan mitra. Selain itu sebesar 53.33% setuju dan 46.67% sangat setuju bahwa teknologi yang ditawarkan sangat bermaanfaat. Abstract

Students can have various characteristics and learning patterns. By understanding the characteristics and learning pattern of individual students, teachers can provide individualized learning strategies based on students' needs. Students' learning patterns may experience changes depending on their conditions during the learning process. If the learning pattern analysis is only run once, then the progress and changes in student learning patterns throughout the learning process cannot be recognized. On the other hand, periodical analysis is expected to describe the dynamics of student learning patterns from time to time. This research is intended for capturing students' dynamic learning pattern using Hierarchical Clustering. We clustered the learning patterns based on Learning Management Systems (LMS) activity logs. The activity log data were partitioned into several periodical datasets. The results of the periodic clustering indicated that students’ learning patterns varied from one another and changed from time to time. Most students experienced change in learning patterns throughout the semester. The analysis also indicated that learning pattern also has the potential to be improved and maintained.

Abstract

Abstrak Sistem Informasi pada Direktorat SISFO merupakan salah satu sistem terintegrasi yang menjadi media penghubung antara civitas akademik. Hal ini menjadikan aktivitas-aktivitas yang terjadi di dalamnya menjadi sangat krusial. Berjalannya elemen dan komponen sistem dengan baik menjadi hal yang sangat penting guna menunjang kinerja dari sistem itu sendiri. Namun, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa kemungkinan munculnya berbagai ancaman dan risiko dapat menghambat bahkan melumpuhkan aktivitas di dalam sistem, salah satunya disebabkan oleh teknologi informasi yang digunakan. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan analisis risiko terhadap berbagai kemungkinan risiko yang muncul di dalam sistem. Berdasarkan hasil analisis akan didapatkan gambaran mengenai aset fisik beserta kemungkinan risiko yang muncul pada aset tersebut. Analisis Risiko Teknologi Informasi Berbasis Risk Management menggunakan ISO 31000 dan difokuskan pada perangkat keras dan infrastruktur jaringan pada sistem i-Gracias. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan Nilai Prioritas Risiko (RPN) berdasarkan proses pengukuran yang telah dilakukan pada tiap-tiap risiko yang telah diidentifikasi dan dianalisis sebelumnya. Sehingga organisasi dapat melakukan pencegahan, penanganan serta perbaikan untuk ke depannya sesuai dengan tingkat prioritas risiko. Abstract

Abstrak Sebagai aplikasi e-learning, Learning Management System (LMS) cenderung lebih  memfasilitasi kebutuhan institusi dimana tools dan konten belajar ditentukan oleh pengajar atau institusi, serta disimpan dan dikelola secara terpusat. Akibatnya, LMS kurang fleksibel bagi pelajar untuk mengelola lingkungan belajarnya sendiri. serta berkolaborasi dan berbagi pengetahuan dengan pelajar lain. Keterbatasan itu  dapat ditangani dalam konsep Personal Learning Environment (PLE) yang memfasilitasi pelajar membangun lingkungan belajarnya sendiri serta mendukung kolaborasi dan berbagi pengetahuan dengan pelajar lain tanpa terikat institusi. Pada penelitian ini, dikemukakan bagaimana konsep PLE dapat diterapkan pada LMS melalui sebuah aplikasi yang mendukung konsep PLE kemudian mengintegrasikannya dengan LMS. Ini memungkinkan pelajar membangun PLE-nya melalui LMS sehingga hal baru yang perlu dipelajari dapat dikurangi. Pada akhir penelitian dilakukan expert evaluation untuk mengetahui kualitas aplikasi dari segi kemudahan navigasi, program bantuan atau tutorial, teknis dan estetika, serta kualitas aplikasi dalam membangun sebuah PLE. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa dari sudut pandang expert dua aspek terakhir dinilai sudah cukup baik. Kata kunci: learning management system, personal learning environment, expert evaluation
