Abstract

ABSTRACT The quality of white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei broodstock can be improved through the addition of astaxanthin and vitamin E in the diet. This study aimed to determine the effect of administration of astaxanthin and vitamin E with different doses in the feed on the maturity gonad of prospective Pacific white shrimp broodstock. Supplementation of 0 mg/kg feed astaxanthin + 0 mg/kg feed vitamin E (control/A),  500 mg/kg feed astaxanthin (B),  350 mg/kg  feed vitamin E (C), 500 mg/kg feed astaxanthin and 350 mg/kg feed vitamin E (D), and  250 mg/kg feed astaxanthin and 175 mg/kg feed vitamin E (E) were applied in feed formulation. Shrimp was fed 2% of body weight three times daily at 06.00 am, 13.00 pm, and 20.00 pm. The result showed that the optimum dose for survival, specific growth rate and maturity level of Pacific white shrimp broodstock was obtained in the combination of 175 mg/kg vitamin E and 250 mg/kg astaxanthin. The  survival of shrimp by that treatment was 100.00±0.00%, specific growth rate 1.07±0.26%/day, the first level of gonad maturity growth was reached at day 14 (19.45±4.81%), the fourth level of gonad maturity was obtained at day 41, spawning rate 33.33±8.33%, fecundity 87,000±2,000 eggs, and hatching rate reached 49.00±1.53%. Keywords: astaxanthin, Litopenaeus vannamei, vitamin E  ABSTRAK Peningkatan kualitas induk udang vaname Litopenaeus vannamei dapat dilakukan dengan penambahan vitamin E dan astaxanthin pada pakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian astaxanthin dan vitamin E dengan dosis berbeda dalam pakan terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad calon induk udang vaname. Dosis yang digunakan adalah 0 mg/kg pakan astaxanthin + 0 mg/kg pakan vitamin E (kontrol/A),  500 mg/kg pakan astaxanthin (B),  350 mg/kg  pakan vitamin E (C), 500 mg/kg pakan astaxanthin and 350 mg/kg pakan vitamin E (D), and  250 mg/kg pakan astaxanthin and 175 mg/kg pakan vitamin E (E). Pemberian pakan dengan penambahan vitamin E dan astaxanthin dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali, yaitu jam 06.00, 13.00, dan 20.00 WIB sebanyak 2% dari bobot udang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis optimum untuk sintasan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan tingkat kematangan induk udang vaname diperoleh dengan kombinasi 175 mg/kg vitamin E dan 250 mg/kg astaxanthin. Kelangsungan hidup udang dengan perlakuan tersebut adalah 100,00±0,00%, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 1,07±0,26%/hari, tingkat kematangan gonad pertama dicapai pada hari ke 14 (19,45±4,81%), tingkat kematangan gonad keempat diperoleh pada hari ke 41, tingkat pemijahan 33,33±8,33%, fekunditas 87.000±2.000 telur, dan tingkat penetasan mencapai 49,00±1,53%.  Kata kunci: astaxanthin, udang vaname Litopenaeus vannamei, vitamin E

Abstract

Coral platy fish has a unique reproduction due to ovoviviparous (live-bearer) reproduction. The large scale production of coral platy fish has several constraints due to the inconsistent seed birth period, which causes variations in the fry size. This makes it difficult for ornamental fish cultivators for production process efficiency and market criteria fulfillment that demands size uniformity. This study aimed to synchronize the broodstock birth period of coral platy fish by testing the hormone oxytocin and prostaglandin-2 α (PGF2α) through immersion methods with different durations. This study used a factorial randomized design with 21 treatments and 3 replications for each hormone type. The PGF2α hormone doses used were 0; 0.01; 0.1 and 1 mL/L, while the oxytocin hormone doses used were 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.4 mL/L with immersion duration of 4, 8, and 12 hours, respectively. The results showed that the treatment dose of 1 mL/LPGF2α with 12 hour duration had a significant effect (p <0.05) compared to other treatments, the immersion group with 12 hour duration obtained a significant difference to the length of other treatments both at the percentage of broodstock giving birth and number of seeds. The hormone treatment had no significant effect on broodstock and seed survival (p> 0.05). Keywords:mass induction, oxytocin, prostaglandin-e2 α (PGF2α), mass birth, livebearer ABSTRAK Ikan plati koral memiliki reproduksi yang unik karena bereproduksi secara ovovivipar (livebearer). Produksi ikan plati koral dalam skala besar dihadapkan kendala akibat waktu kelahiran anak yang tidak serentak yang menyebabkan keberagaman ukuran anak ikan plati koral. Hal ini menyulitkan para pembudidaya ikan hias untuk efisiensi proses produksi dan memenuhi kriteria pasar yang menuntut keseragaman ukuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyeragamkan waktu kelahiran anak induk ikan plati koral dengan uji coba pemberian hormon oksitosin dan prostaglandin-2 α (PGF2α) melalui metode perendaman dengan durasi waktu yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak faktorial dengan 21 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan untuk masing-masing jenis hormon. Dosis hormon PGF2α yang diuji adalah 0; 0,01; 0,1 dan 1 mL/L, sedangkan dosis hormon oksitosin yang digunakan adalah 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.4 mL/L dengan masing-masing lama perendaman 4, 8, dan 12 jam. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis 1 mL/L PGF2α dengan lama waktu perendaman 12 jam memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (p <0.05) dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya, kelompok perendaman dengan durasi 12 jam memberikan perbedaan yang nyata terhadap lama perlakuan lain baik pada parameter persetasi induk melahirkan dan jumlah anak yang dilahirkan. Perlakuan hormon tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup induk dan anak yang dilahirkan (p >0.05). Abstract

An effort to increase the production of juvenile catfish is limited by the high mortality rate, especially caused by cannibalism. The hormonal treatment has been conducted as an effort to control cannibalism. This study used completely randomized factorial design, consisted of six treatments and three replications. There were two factors examined in this study, the first factor was different doses of 17β‒estradiol hormone (0, 30, and 60 mg estradiol‒17β/kg) incorporated in the feed, and the second factor was stocking density (150 and 300 fish/m2). Juvenile catfish with the size of 4.0 ± 0.1 cm were reared for 30 days in the 84 L aquarium. The results showed that hormone treatment could reduce cannibalism rate, type-I and II cannibalism compared to control (P<0.05). The results showed that the lowest of mortality was obtained in the treatment B (17β‒estradiol administration of 30 mg/kg, at stocking density of 150 fish/m2; P<0.05). The lowest cortisol level was found in treatment F, and the highest estradiol level was found in treatment F (17β‒estradiol administration of 60 mg/kg, at stocking density of 300 fish/m2; P<0.05). The lowest of blood glucose level was found in treatment B (P<0.05). The highest specific weight growth was found in the stocking density of 150 fish/m2 (P<0.05). The results of this study indicated that administration of 17β‒estradiol in feed could reduce the level of cannibalism in African catfish juvenile. Keywords: cannibalism, Juvenile, catfish, estradiol‒17β, cortisol ABSTRAK Upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi benih ikan lele dibatasi oleh tingginya angka kematian, terutama yang disebabkan oleh kanibalisme. Pendekatan hormonal telah dilakukan sebagai upaya pengendalian kanibalisme. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial, terdiri dari enam perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Ada dua faktor yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini, faktor pertama adalah dosis hormon 17β‒estradiol yang berbeda (0, 30, dan 60 mg/kg) yang diberikan melalui pakan, dan faktor kedua adalah padat tebar (150 dan 300 ekor/m2). Benih ikan lele berukuran 4.0 ± 0.1 cm dipelihara selama 30 hari di akuarium (84 L). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan hormon dapat menurunkan tingkat kanibalisme tipe‒I dan II dibandingkan kontrol (P<0.05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mortalitas terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan B (pemberian 17β‒estradiol 30 mg/kg, pada padat tebar 150 ekor/m2; P<0.05). Kadar kortisol terendah ditemukan pada perlakuan F, dan kadar estradiol tertinggi ditemukan pada perlakuan F (pemberian 17β‒estradiol 60 mg/kg, pada padat tebar 300 ekor/m2; P<0.05). Kadar glukosa darah terendah ditemukan pada perlakuan B (P<0.05). Pertumbuhan bobot spesifik tertinggi ditemukan pada padat tebar 150 ekor/m2 (P<0.05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian hormon 17β‒estradiol dengan dosis 30 mg/kg pakan, dan padat tebar 150 ekor/m2 dapat menurunkan tingkat kanibalisme pada benih ikan lele di Afrika. Abstract

Potensi sektor perikanan di Indonesia menjadi bagian penting dalam pembangunan nasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang aplikasi permainan edukatif berupa simulasi perikanan budidaya sehingga dapat memperkenalkan tentang perikanan budidaya kepada generasi muda melalui cara yang lebih menarik. Proses pra-produksi yang dilaksanakan pada penelitian ini menghasilkan dokumen desain permainan yang dibuat berdasarkan wawancara dan studi literatur. Hasil dari penelitian ini telah berhasil menghasilkan rancangan aplikasi permainan yang edukatif dan sangat menarik. Dokumen tersebut memuat unsur-unsur permainan yang meliputi objek dan perilakunya yang akan digunakan untuk membuat permainan simulasi. Abstract

Good sperm quality and inactive condition during the electroporation process determines the success of transgenesis. The study aims to observe the morphology and physiology of sperm, and evaluate the effects of different voltage and number of electric shocks on motility and viability of climbing perch sperm. Observation of morphological characters by microscope with a magnification of 400X, physiological character with various parameters, such as the level of os-molarity, volume, pH, density and total of sperm. The climbing perch sperm consisted of three parts, namely the ovoid head, middle, and tail. Sperm viability in the water was 116±34 seconds. Sperm quantity, volume of semen, pH, and sperm density were increased after ovaprim injection (p<0.05). Osmolarity levels of body and testes of climbing perch ranged at 390-405 mOsmol kg-1. Sperm diluted in 13 g L-1 NaCl solution could be kept for a maximum of 60 minutes at room temperature (26°C) and cold temperature (4°C), while without NaCl solution could be 360 minutes. Fertilization and hatching rates of eegs fertilized by sperm form the minced testes, and larval survival up to 10 days post-hatching were similar with semi-natural spawning. Electroporation of climbing perch sperm diluted in 13 g/L NaCl solution was successfully performed using a program with a long shock of 0.5 milliseconds and the interval shock of 0.1 seconds. Increasing the voltage and number of shock decreased motility and viability of sperm (p<0.05). Those electric shock parameters can potentially be used to generate climbing perch transgenic by electroporation method. Abstrak Kualitas sperma yang baik dan dalam keadaan tak aktif selama proses elektroporasi sangat menentukan keberhasilan transgenesis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakter morfologis dan fisiologis sel sperma, serta menge-valuasi efek voltase dan jumlah kejut listrik berbeda terhadap motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan betok. Pengamatan karakter morfologi dilakukan pada mikroskop dengan pembesaran 400x, karakter fisiologi dengan berbagai parameter yakni tingkat osmolaritas, volume, pH, kepadatan dan total sperma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sperma ikan betok terdiri atas tiga bagian, yakni kepala yang berbentuk oval, bagian tengah, dan ekor sperma. Viabilitas sperma ikan betok dalam air adalah selama 116±34 detik. Induksi ovaprim dapat meningkatkan volume sperma, pH, kepadatan dan total sperma (p<0,05). Tingkat osmolaritas tubuh dan testis ikan betok (390-405 mOsmol kg-1). Penyimpanan sperma yang diencerkan dengan larutan NaCl 1,3% hanya dapat bertahan maksimum selama 60 menit pada suhu ruang (26°C) dan suhu dingin (4°C), sedangkan tanpa pengenceran dapat bertahan selama 360 menit. Derajat pembuahan dan kelangsungan hidup larva hingga 10 hari pascatetas menggunakan sperma dari testes cacah sama dengan pemijahan semi alami. Elektroporasi sperma ikan betok dengan pengencer larutan NaCl 1,3% berhasil dilakukan menggunakan lama kejut 0,5 milidetik, dan jeda antar kejut 0,1 detik. Peningkatan voltase dan jumlah kejut yang diberikan saling berinter-aksi menurunkan motilitas dan viabilitas sperma (p<0,05). Metode kejut listrik tersebut berpotensi digunakan untuk menghasilkan ikan betok transgenik dengan metode elektroporasi.

Abstract

Black ghost knifefish, Apteronotus albifrons, is a South America-introduced ornamental fish species that has been widely cultivated in Indonesia. Some farmers breed this fish with different sex ratios, but the optimum sex ratio remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the spawning behavior and reproductive performance of black ghost knifefish with different sex ratios. The treatments in this study were arranged in a completely randomized design consisting of different sex ratios between males and females, namely: A (one male : three females), B (two males : three females), and C (three males : three females). Each treatment was done in triplicate. The broodstock were maintained in an aquarium (80 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm) and fed with bloodworm twice a day. The water was changed every day as much as 60% of the total volume. During the experiment, the parameters of spawning behavior, number of fish spawning, number of eggs, fertilization rate, hatching rate, and daily spawning frequencies were observed. The observation was done for seven days. The study results showed that black ghost knifefish spawned at night (11 pm - 2 am). The mating and spawning occurred between one male and one female. Competition between males was observed in the treatments indicated by aggressive movements of a male toward the others, such as sudden approaching, chasing, and driving away the others. Fish in treatment-B spawned consistently from day-1 to day-5. Fish in treatment-A spawned from day-2 to day-4, while fish in treatment-C spawned only on day-7. The reproductive performance parameters showed no significant difference in all treatments except the hatching rate parameter of treatment-B. The study concludes that better reproductive performance of black ghost knifefish, A. albifrons can be achieved with a spawning ratio of two males and three females. Further research on individual and mass spawning methods with the best spawning ratio of the fish is required.

Abstract

In early 2020, Karang Asem Timur Village received a grant from the Ministry of Marine Affairs in the form of a catfish farming system in buckets (budikdamber). This program is conducted by several business groups that are widely spread in the community. Many of the catfish farmers in Karang Asem Timur Village complain about the high cost of commercial feed which is commonly used, made the profits earned very insignificant and even tend to lose, thus need supervision. The IPB Serving Lecturer Program attempts to empower the people of Karang Asem Timur Village in optimizing fish farming activities and their processed products. This program as an extension of the Thematic Field Apprenticeship Lecture (KKN-T) program, partners with the catfish business group in Karang Asem Timur Village look for other feeding alternatives that are cheaper and have good nutritional content for catfish. In addition, the program also cooperates with youth organizations and family welfare empowerment to open business opportunities for processed catfish products and catfish cultured products. It is hoped that the progress and independence of the village economy can be achieved. The society eagerly participate and propose for the program to be continued gradually and sustainably in the near future.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, information can be interpreted as data that is processed and managed with the intention of giving meaning and helping the decision-making process. This study intends to examine the effect of the variable ability of AIS users (Accounting Information Systems) on the variable quality of accounting information. This research is quantitative and uses descriptive and verification methods using survey techniques. The researcher used nonprobability sampling with saturated sampling, with 30 accounting and system employees from PT. ABC and XYZ, both food and beverage industry companies in Bandung Regency, as samples and respondents. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression with a questionnaire data collection technique. The results of this study concluded that there is a significant influence between the competency variables of accounting information system users (AIS) and the quality of accounting information.

Abstract

Plati fish is a freshwater ornamental fish with great demand due to its beautiful body shape and color, besides the price is affordable.The main problem faced by plati fish farmers is that the production targets have not been achieved to meet the market needs. This study aimed to examine the effect of the oodev and turmeric powder and the combination of both added into the fish diet on the reproductive performance of plati fish broodstock. The experimental design in this study used a completely randomized design with four treatments, i.e treatment A (control), B (oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock), C (turmeric powder 3%/kg feed), and D (oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock + turmeric powder 3%/kg feed). There were three replications for each treatment. The observed parameters included the percentage of pregnant broodstocks, the percentage of labored broodstocks, the frequency of labored broodstocks, larvae production, and the survival rate of the larvae. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and further tested with Duncan's test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the addition of oodev, turmeric flour, and a combination of both into the feed every one week increased the average production of larvae. Total larval production in all treatments was sorted from the highest in treatment D, B, C, and and the lowest was A treatment with larvae production of 428, 251, 209, and 93, respectively. The addition of oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock, turmeric powder 3%/kg feed, and the combination of both into the feed increased larval production three, two, and five times higher compared to the control, respectively. The percentage of survival of the larvae is sorted from the highest in treatment D, B, C, A, i.e. 97.51%, 95.79%, 95.65%, and 93.32%, respectively. Keywords: larvae, oodev, platy, turmeric powder ABSTRAK Ikan plati merupakan ikan hias air tawar yang banyak diminati masyarakat karena memiliki bentuk dan warna tubuh yang indah, selain itu harganya yang terjangkau membuat ikan ini laris di pasaran. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi pembudidaya ikan plati adalah belum tercapainya target produksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan oodev dan tepung kunyit serta kombinasi keduanya yang diberi pada pakan terhadap performa reproduksi induk ikan plati. Rancangan percobaan pada penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu: perlakuan A (kontrol), B (oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk), C (tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan), dan D (oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk + tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan). Terdapat tiga ulangan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Parameter penelitian yang diamati yakni persentase induk bunting, persentase induk melahirkan, frekuensi induk melahirkan, produksi larva, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva. Data diolah menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan dengan selang kepercayaan 95%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan oodev, tepung kunyit, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan setiap satu minggu dapat meningkatkan rata-rata produksi larva yang dihasilkan. Produksi larva total diurut dari yang terbanyak adalah perlakuan D (428 ekor), B (251 ekor), C (209 ekor), dan terendah adalah A (93 ekor). Penambahan oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk, tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan meningkatkan produksi larva sebanyak tiga, dua, dan lima kali dibanding kontrol. Persentase kelangsungan hidup larva diurut dari yang tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan D (97,51%), B (95,79%), C (95,65%), dan terendah adalah A (93,32%). Abstract

Di masa sekarang di mana informasi semakin mudah didapatkan, semestinya kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya narkoba semakin meningkat, namun data dilapangan tidak memberikan hasil demikian. Masih kerap ditemui pengguna narkoba di masa sekarang. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut dibuatlah penelitian ini dimana bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya mengetahui apa itu narkoba, efek yang disebabkannya apabila disalah gunakan serta bagaimana cara mencegah penyalahgunaannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan mengumpulkan data-data yang mendukung penelitian seperti artikel dan buku, kemudian data-data yang telah didapatkan diatur dan dirangkai sedemikian rupa sehingga pengguna program ini, dapat dengan mudah memahami isi program. Setelah itu, data-data tersebut digunakan untuk membuat media interaktif sehingga dapat menarik perhatian audience. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa sebuah media interaktif yang berisi informasi tentang narkoba, cara penggunaan narkoba yang benar, serta penanggulangan penyalahgunaan narkoba.
