Abstract

The song is one of the teaching media used by preschool teachers around the globe. Indonesian preschool teachers face a rising problem: the government regulates a standard curriculum where the educational song is compulsory. Yet, there is no concern to facilitate and fill in the absence of children's educational songs. This study aims to unveil the creative process of non-music education graduate teachers in composing educational songs as required by the curriculum. This study employs a qualitative design based on a case study of thirty-three teachers from eleven different preschools in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. The researchers analyze the preschools' curriculum, teachers' interviews, field observations, and documentation. The findings show that teachers can use their creativity to create songs with educational messages projected in a collective poetry singing performance. Poetry singing allows students' aesthetic skills development through continuous song probe and response between teachers and students.

Abstract

Gambang Semarang is one of the traditional Indonesian music that grows and develops in the cityof Semarang, Central Java. Gambang Semarang music has an instrument made of wood which is the hallmark of Gambang Semarang music itself, namely Gambang. The Gambang instrument has a variety of distinctive accompaniment patterns that can give nuance to themusic of Gambang Semarang. The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the various patterns of accompaniment of the Gambang instrument in Semarang's Gambang music. The research method used is qualitative with an ethnomusicological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, document studies, and Focused Group Discussion. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data reduction, data classification, and conclusions. The results showed that theaccompaniment pattern of the Gambang instrument in Gambang Semarang music consisted of an accompaniment pattern of gembyang nglagu oktaf, and a garap cengkok ajeg pattern. Each accompaniment pattern of the Gambang instrument involves a series of tones according to its seleh. Due to the influence of the melody of the main song, the accompaniment pattern of gembyang nglagu octaf and the accompaniment pattern of garap cengkok ajeg has six selehs, namely seleh do, seleh re, seleh mi, seleh sol, and seleh la.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' social literacy abilities in terms of social literacy indicators, namely understanding oneself, understanding and managing emotions, understanding social situations, and establishing relationships. This research is a descriptive research, by analyzing student test results. The research subjects consisted of 30 fourth grade students at SDN 1 Mangkujayan. The results of the study showed that the social literacy skills of fourth grade students at SDN 1 Mangkujayan regarding kingdoms in the archipelago were still in the very low category, namely getting a percentage of 51%. Special teaching materials are needed for students who can increase students' social sensitivity so that they can increase social literacy in students. Abstract

This qualitative research study investigates the role of music as a catalyst for fostering sustainable tourism practices and contributing to the long-term social, economic, and environmental well-being of ecotourism destinations. The focus is on Truthung's musical performances in Magelang, which serve as reflections of local tourism potential and the surrounding natural environment, including the Borobudur Temple and the Merapi, Merbabu, Andong, Sumbing, and Menoreh Mountains. Drawing upon the interdisciplinary concept of ecomusicology, this study employs various data collection methods, including observations, interviews, and documentation. By examining the growth and development of Truthung Music performances, with a particular emphasis on key figures such as Sutanto Mendut and farming artists from Merbabu, this research sheds light on the transformative power of music within the local community. The findings reveal that Truthung Music not only represents the rich local environment and culture within tour packages in Magelang Regency but also emphasizes the broader interplay between nature and culture. "Village Civilization" provides clear evidence of the relationship between nature and culture, showcasing the local potential of the Lima Gunung arts community. This research addresses a gap in the literature by examining the specific role of music in the context of ecotourism and its contributions to sustainable practices. The implications extend beyond the local community, providing valuable insights for policymakers, tourism professionals, and cultural preservationists regarding the significant role that music can play in promoting sustainable tourism and preserving the cultural heritage of ecotourism destinations.

Abstract

Tabu gong rede geda music is part of the culture of the Riangkotek village community and is inherited from one generation to another. The inheritance of tabu gong rede geda music uses a tilted inheritance system (Diagonal Transmission), which is an art inheritance system that focuses on learning education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of tabu gong rede geda music learning, the components of tabu gong rede geda music learning, and the stages of tabu gong rede geda music learning. Data collection in this study used observation, interview, and document study techniques. Analysis of research data using source triangulation techniques. The results showed that the process of inheritance of tabu gong rede geda music through informail learning. The components of tabu gong rede geda music learning consist of learning participants, instructors, learning objectives, learning materials and learning methods. The learning process consists of four stages, namely seeing and listening, proclaiming, producing, repeatedly.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools requires competent teachers and adequate learning facilities. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and determine the responses of teachers and students to the application of the interactive video with PBL model in improving the scientific literacy of fifth-grade elementary school. This study used a quasi-experimental research design. The samples of this study were 18 students of class V SD Lerep 02 as the experimental class, and class V SDN Lerep 05 as the control class as many as 21 students. Data were collected using interview techniques, questionnaires, observations, and scientific literacy tests. Data analysis techniques using descriptive test, paired test, N-gain, independent t-test, and response analysis were also carried out to determine student and teacher responses to the applied learning model. The results of this study indicate that 1) the application of the interactive video with PBL model is effective in improving the scientific literacy of fifth grade elementary school students. These results are shown by the experimental class scientific literacy results which are significantly higher than that of the control class with an average value of 84.22% and the results of observations show that 60% of students in each post-learning scientific literacy can increase. 2) Students gave a very good response to the application of the interactive video with PBL model with an average response score of 87.22%. So, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model assisted by interactive video is effective in improving scientific literacy of students in elementary school.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic currently affecting the world, especially that experienced by Indonesia, has also had an impact on new adaptations in the area of education. The educational process that previously dominated, which was carried out outside the network, then in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the education process switches to the network and is familiarly called online learning. With regard to the art of music, especially vocal learning, the Covid-19 pandemic situation raises creative ideas so that learning can continue effectively. One form of vocal learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is vocal learning through virtual spaces or in networks that utilize technology. This research shows that there are virtual values of art education in vocal learning. The advantages of virtual vocal learning are that a person has high expression, moral responsibility, the spirit of independence to practice can grow to the maximum, has a high enthusiasm for learning so that learning needs are not just during class, and can foster one's empathy.

Abstract

Abstract. This article discusses the local potential in Banyumas which can be used as the main idea in making Banyumasan children's songs. Local potential consists of physical and non-physical, including tourism, ngapak dialect, cablaka, and babad Banyumasan. This potential can be expressed in the form of children's songs that have educational messages through art. Musicological analysis with an art phenomenological approach is used to see the process of selecting local potential that can be used as inspiration in making children's songs. This study aims to analyze the growing local potential in the Banyumas area which can be a source of inspiration in making Banyumasan children's songs. This research is a type of qualitative research using several musicological and phenomenological studies. The results showed that the local potential in Banyumas can be seen from traditional children's games, cablaka characters, natural charm, and tourism in Banyumas. Based on the analysis carried out by researchers, they found a simple formula about the use of local potential as a source of inspiration in making children's songs, including: the tone chosen must be simple according to the character of the nursery rhyme, there are educational messages based on locality values, the use of language that is interesting and easy to understand by children.

Abstract

Abstrak. This study was based on the lack of skills of fourth graders SDN Proyonanggan 10 Batang. This study aimed to develop, access feasibility and effectiveness of m-learning melodika, and also to describe the results of psychomotor-learning using m-learning melodika in the fourth grade at SDN Proyonanggan 10 Batang. This type of study is reasearch and development (R&D) with ADDIE model. The sample in this study is 5 fourth grade students of SDN Proyonanggan 10 which represents the total population of 32 students. Data collection techniques were implemented with tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and ducumentation. Data analysis techniques includes product data analysis, normality test, t-test and n-gain test. Assesment by material expert and media expert of 96.47% and 100%. Teacher and student responses of 96% and 100%. T-test, sig value 0,00 < 0.05and t counts larger than t table which is 18.500 > 2.776. N-gain test amounts to 0.74 with high criteria. Conclution of this study is the media “M-Learning Melodika” that is worthy to use in both pianika playing materials and effective for improving the pianika playing skills of 4th grade students.

Abstract

Cong Rock 17 is a creative keroncong group in Semarang city. The phenomenon of Cong Rock 17 is captured as a social fact that is currently happening to keroncong in Semarang. This study aims to discover how the phenomenon of a social fact of Cong Rock 17 in keroncong music in Semarang. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, field notes, and documentation. Data was checked using the validity method of triangulation data with sources. Data analysis was carried out using interactive data analysis, which was divided into three stages, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding/verification. The research results show that the Cong Rock 17 social fact paradigm is based on two crucial issues: social structure and social institution. The social structure of Cong Rock 17 is that there are interactions and relationships between individuals and social positions in the Cong Rock 17. Each social position/role in Rock 17 carries out its respective main tasks and functions with a complete sense of responsibility for group solidity. While the social institution is the value ​​and norm held by the Cong Rock 17 members, which form the basis for attitudes and behaviour for the progress of the group, including routine training, discipline, loyalty, Ngemis (Ngopi Kemis), and ngibadah musik. This study concludes that the Cong Rock 17 Social Fact Paradigm from the aspects of the Social Structure and Social Institution keeps the Keroncong Orchestra solid, and sustained, and Semarang citizens always await its presence.
