Abstract

Hasil survei TIMSS tahun 2011 mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa Indonesia belum memenuhi harapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan perkembangan kemampuan berpikir analitis melalui pembelajaran kontekstual disertai peta konsep pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Walisongo 1 Semarang dan VII A, VII B, VII C SMP N 1 Karangtengah Demak pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang diambil melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest, posttest, observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Skor pretest dan posttest dianalisis dari hasil N-Gain, sedangkan data yang lain dianalisis secara deskriptif. Perkembangan kemampuan berpikir analitis terlihat dari 6,5% skor gain yang tergolong tinggi dan persentase ketercapaian indikator kemampuan berpikir analitis ≥ 50%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir analitis dapat dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran kontekstual disertai peta konsep. TIMSS survey result in 2011 indicated that analytical thinking skill of Indonesia students has not met expectation. This study aims to determine the analytical thinking skill development of junior high school students through contextual learning with concept maps in environmental pollution. The subjects were VII grade students of 2nd semester in academic year 2015/2016. They were class VII A of SMP Walisongo 1 Semarang and VII A, VII B, VII C of SMP N 1 Karangtengah Demak, which were determined by purposive sampling. Data were collected by pre test, post test, observation, questionnaire, and interview. The score of pre test and post test were analyzed from N-Gain result, meanwhile the others analyzed descriptively. Development of student’s analytical thinking skill showed from 6.5% high gain score and attachment of analytical thinking skill indicator ≥ 50%. The result showed that students’ analytical thinking skill can be developed through contextual learning with concept maps.

Abstract

This study would analyze students’ learning outcomes and attitudes on psychotropic and addictive substances abuse after learning the nervous system concept with bio edutainment strategy by roleplaying. This was a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all students of class XI of Sciences program in SMA Negeri 7 Semarang. Two classes as the sample which was defined by purposive sampling. The independent variable was bio edutainment strategy with role-playing. The dependent variables were students’ learning outcomes and attitudes. The controls variables included teacher, lesson hours, curriculum, and face-to-face time. Learning outcomes were analyzed quantitatively by N-gain. Students’ attitudes were analyzed descriptively. The learning outcomes had met the classroom learning mastery (86.5%). The means of N-gain in both classes were in moderate criteria (0.44 and 0.40). Student attitudes toward psychotropic and addictive substances abuse were in tremendous criteria (92% and 86%). Students’ learning outcomes were strongly correlated with their attitudes toward psychotropic and addictive substances abuse (0.705 and 0.610). This study concluded that bio edutainment strategy with roleplaying gave a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes and attitudes and a positive relationship between high school students’ learning outcomes and their attitudes on psychotropic and addictive substances abuse.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil belajar dan sikap terhadap penyalahgunaan psikotropika dan zat adiktif pada siswa setelah pembelajaran system saraf dengan strategi bioedutainment dengan role playing. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pre-eksperimental design dengan one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 7 Semarang dengan dua kelas sebagai sampel yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Variabel bebas berupa strategi bioedutainment dengan role playing. Variabel terikat berupa hasil belajar, dan sikap. Variabel kontrol berupa guru, jam pelajaran, kurikulum, dan waktu tatap muka. Hasil belajar dianalisis dengan N-gain dan kuantitatif. Sikap dianalisis secara deskriptif persentase. Hasil belajar mencapai ketuntasan klasikal (86,5%). Rata- rata N-gain siswa pada kedua kelas termasuk kriteria sedang (0,44 dan 0,40). Sikap siswa terhadap penyalahgunaan psikotropika dan zat adiktif menunjukkan kriteria sangat tinggi (92% dan 86%). Hasil belajar dengan sikap terhadap penyalahgunaan psikotropika dan zat adiktif memiliki korelasi kuat (0,705 dan 0,610). Simpulan strategi bioedutainment dengan role playing berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar dan sikap siswa serta terdapat hubungan yang positif antara hasil belajar dengan sikap siswa terhadap penyalahgunaan psikotropika dan zat adiktif pada siswa SMA.

Abstract

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) merupakan kompetensi spesifik guru yang merupakan paduan antara pengetahuan konten dan pedagogik yang berkembang seiring waktu dan pengalaman. Melalui pembelajaran, PCK calon guru dapat dioptimalkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis profil kemampuan PCK calon guru Biologi FMIPA UNNES. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan PCK calon guru biologi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang menempuh Mata Kuliah Microteaching pada semester genap 2016/2017. Profil PCK calon guru diperoleh dengan menganalisis instrumen CoRe dan PaPeR. Berdasarkan analisis CoRe dan PaPeR menunjukkan hal-hal berikut: Materi yang banyak dipilih untuk microteaching adalah materi kelas XI (58%), materi kelas X (31%), dan materi kelas XII (12%).  Jumlah ide besar untuk mengembangkan materi ajar ada 3 sampai 5. Calon guru biologi sudah baik dalam mengelola waktu mengajar dan sudah baik kemampuannya dalam memilih strategi pembelajaran (85%). Ada 62% calon guru memiliki penguasaan konsep dengan benar, sedangkan 38% memiliki penguasaan konsep yang tidak mendalam, dan ada yang mengarah pada miskonsepsi. Ada 77% calon guru menunjukkan kesulitan dalam mengelola kelas yang efektif. Calon guru belum memanfaatkan media secara maksimal, diantaranya dalam menciptakan interaksi siswa dengan media pembelajaran. Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa kemampuan PCK calon guru Biologi perlu dioptimalkan dalam beberapa aspek konten dan pedagogik.Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is a kind of spesific competency which is a combination of pedagogical and content knowledge and improved throughout times and experiences. This improvement can be achieved together with the learning process. The purpose of this research was to analyzed the PCK profile of prospective Biology teacher within FMIPA UNNES. The analysis was done descriptively with student of Microteaching course during second semester of 2016/2017 as the research subjects. The profile of the PCK was gained by using CoRe and PaPeR. The evaluation of CoRe and PaPeR showed that the frequently choosen Biology substances for Microteaching are the substances of 11th grade (58%), 10th grade (31%), and 12th grade (12%). The main idea to develop learning material was ranging from 3 to 5. The prospective Biology teacher has already been capable enough in teaching time management and learning strategy selection (85%). There was 62 % prospective teacher with appropriate perceptive among Biology concepts and only 38% with lack or even mistaken concept. 77% prospective teacher was having trouble in effectively handling the class. Most of them has not maximally used media, including in the creation of student and media interaction. It was concluded that the prospective teacher PCK was can be optimized in many aspect of pedadogic and content.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills related social-scientific issue in society’enviroment need to be owned by students. This capability can be trained by  PBL (Problem Based Learning) model. The purpose of this research is to analyze problem solving abilities of students. The type of this research is quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Sample of the research is X grade students from SMA N 1 Semarang and SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang. The result consisted of primary outcome in the form of capability, N-gain value and classical content mastering as well as secondary outcome covering the implementation of learning, teachers response and students response. Based on the result, the average of problem solving ability SMA N 1 Semarang increased from 70% to 79,5%, while SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang increased from 59,5% to 73%. Completeness of classical learning  SMA N 1 Semarang, class X MIPA 7, 97% and class X MIPA 9, 79%. The completeness of classical learning SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang, class X MIPA 3, 80% and class X MIPA 5, 65%. N-gain value of SMA N 1 Semarang 0,553 and SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang 0,433 in medium category. The conclusion of this research is the utilization of social issue with PBL model can improve problem solving ability on ecosystem’learning in SMA.

Abstract

Problem based learning is learning model suitable for 21st Century’s educational purpose. Concepts of learning material can be built using concept mapping. The objective of this research is to analyse the effectiveness of problem based learning model aided with concept mapping on the analysis of Senior High School students' ability (differentiating, organizing, and attributing aspect) in learning material of Immune System. The subject of this research is eleven grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang, each of these senior high schools provided two experimental classes. The design of this research is pre-experimental, with one group pretest-posttest design. The method of gathering data was used in this research is test and observation. Instruments that were analyzed in this research are multiple choice, students discussion’s worksheet, product of learning outcomes, and learning implementation. The snalysis ability of students from SMA Negeri 12 Semarang showed average of 80% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 4 and XI-MIPA 5 are 84,2% and  76,4% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4706 which categorized in medium criteria. The analysis ability of students from SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang showed average of 73% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 1 and XI-MIPA 2 are 76,4% and  81% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4426 which categorized in medium criteria. Based on the research result can be drawn a conclusion that implementation of problem based learning aided with concept mapping is effective for increasing students’ analysis ability in SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang.

Abstract

Misconceptions of students scientific literacy can be overcome by knowing in advance the alternative concepts students have. One technique that can be used to trace students misconceptions is using multiple choice diagnostic tests. This research aim was developing three tier multiple choice test based on aspects of scientific literacy in science material. We used Research  and  Development (R&D) as the research method. The phase of method implementation analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The results of the study showed that the product of this research was 37 items three tier multiple choice test based on scientific literacy aspect. The product were developed in a reliable and valid category with a reliability value of r11>rtabel is 1,024>0,3061 and each expert give a validity score of 16, 13 and 14. Characteristics of items with difficulty levels mostly in the medium category. The distinguishing features in most categories is accepted. Each item is arranged based on aspects of scientific literacy with a comparison category A: B: C: D: E is 35%: 20%: 20%: 17.5%. Profil of misconceptions of scientific literacy the proportion of about 35,1 % knowledge aspect, 34,8 % about the competence in the investigation, 33 % about the science as a way of thinking, and 31,4 % about the science relations with technology, society, and the environment as a context and attitude to science. The results of developing this question can be used as teacher as an alternative item to identify misconceptions in students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

Perlocutionary act is a speech act spoken by a speaker to influence the interlocutors and can be found in the communication process. One form of communication process can be found in conversations between the characters in story from children's reading books. Perlocutionary act is uttered with different pragmatic functions according to the context of the speech. The objectives of this research are (1) to describe the functions of perlocutionary act in F-3 leveled reading book, and (2) to determine the dominant perlocutionary act function in F-3 leveled reading book. The research approach used in this research was pragmatic approach and qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection was conducted by using observation method with recording technique. After the data have been analyzed using heuristic method, the result of the research shows that (1) 12 perlocutionary acts are found in F-3 leveled reading book with five kinds of functions, which are the function of relieving, persuading, convincing, attention-grabbing, and scaring and (2) the most dominant perlocutionary act function in F-3 leveled reading book is relieving function with total seven speeches. This research is expected to give contributions to the academic study, especially in the field of pragmatic study.

Abstract

High-level thinking skills are incredibly required to face the challenges in the 21st-century era. One of it skill is to think analytically or people commonly call it analytical thinking. Analytical thinking skills can be trained to the students with an effective learning model. This study aims to describe the enhancement of the analytical thinking skills of high school students on the learning of excretory system materials with quantum learning model. The subject in this study students grade XI in SMA Negeri 1 Boja, and MA Al-Asror which each of 2 classes of treatment. This research design is a quasi-experimental, with non-equivalent design pretest-posttest. Documentation, tests, questionnaires, and interviews are used as data collection techniques. The enhancement of students' analytical thinking skills on learning of excretory system materials with quantum learning model as primary data was analyzed with N-gain. The result of data analysis showed an increase of average analytical thinking skills of N-gain in both treatment class of MA Al-Asror of 0,53 with the medium category and in both treatment class of SMA Negeri 1 Boja equal to 0,79 with the high category. The secondary data result the average percentage of student activity in MA Al-Asror 79% and SMA Negeri 1 Boja 81,1%, both percentages are classified into a nice category. The analysis students questionnaire assessment in MA Al-Asror is 81% with effective category and SMA Negeri 1 Boja is 82% with the very effective category. The result of the analysis of teacher questionnaire assessment in MA Al-Asror is 75% with effective category and SMA Negeri 1 Boja is 97,5% with the very effective category. Interviews with students and teachers being presented by descriptive. Analytical thinking skills covering of identifying, distinguishing, and linking cause and effect is increased in learning of excretory system material with quantum learning model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the TPCK ability of the prospective teachers in preparing, planning, and implementing of learning on atomic structure material. The type of research is a descriptive study with qualitative design. The research subjects were ten prospective teachers who were implementing the PPL in five Senior High Schools in Banda Aceh. The data collection was done in three stages, identifying the CoRe instrument, analyzingthe teaching plan, observing the prospective teachers learning. Firstly, the results showed the TPCK ability of the prospective teachers in preparing of learning is in a good category, butthe ability in the CK, PK, TCK and TPK components are still low. Secondly, the TPCK ability of prospective teachers in the planning are at the moderate category, but average of the prospective teachers ability in the PK, TPK, PCK, and TCK components are still low. Lastly, the TPCK ability of prospective teachers in implementing of learning is in a good category, but the analysis of the components of PK, CK, TPK and TCK scores of prospective teachers are still low.

Abstract

Science learning is expected to provide students with the provision to grow and improve critical thinking skills. Someone who has the ability to think critically can identify strategies and make the right decisions in problem solving. The results of previous studies indicate that junior high school students' critical thinking skills are in low category. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through guided inquiry learning. Guided inquiry learning is one of innovative learning that is appropriately applied to science learning, because students can be actively involved in the learning process to search and investigate systematically with teacher guidance. The design of this study used quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Students' critical thinking skills are measured using 27 multiple choices. The results showed that critical thinking skills of experiment group were higher than those control group and the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in aspects elementary clarification, basic support, inference, advanced clarification of experiment group higher than control group, while aspects strategy and tactics of experiment and control group have different increases in the same category.
