Abstract

Teacher’s lack of interactive learning media and abstract mathematics learning materials results in low mathematical communication skills as indicated by students' answers in solving math problems. Flipbook media is one of the interactive and interesting learning media in learning mathematics which accommodates the principles of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This study aims to determine the procedure for developing RME-based flipbook media and to determine students' mathematical communication skills after using the media developed on circle material. This type of research is R & D (Research & Development) research using the 4D development model (Define-Design-Develop-Disseminate). The subjects in this study were 3 mathematics teachers, 6 students taken from each class VIII outside class VIII-E, 2 material experts, 2 media experts and 32 students from class VIII-E SMPN 3 Banjar. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and qualitative data analysis. Based on the analysis of the results of the mathematical communication ability test, as many as 31.25% of students showed a level of mathematical communication ability in the "high" category, as many as 43.75% of students showed a level of mathematical communication ability in the "medium" category as many as 25% of students shows the level of mathematical communication skills in the "low" category. It can be concluded that RME-based flipbook learning media is feasible and effective in students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a reference for teachers to make flipbooks using Flip PDF Professional software which can assist the learning process and further researchers can conduct research and development of flipbooks in collaboration with other software on different material and mathematical abilities

Abstract

This study is being conducted to identify the learning disabilities in math literacy at SMPN 3 Kalipucang kelas VIII during the second semester of the 2023–2024 school year. The method that is used is a qualitative approach called Didactical Design Research. Study focus is on three study subjects: students with weak mathematical skills (S1), students with strong mathematical skills (S2), and students with weak mathematical skills (S3). The results of the study indicate that students in S1 experience difficulties learning epistemological obstacles, students in S2 experience difficulties learning both didactic and epistemological obstacles, and students in S3 experience difficulties learning ontogenic, didactic, and epistemological obstacles. In order to overcome this obstacle, researchers have developed learning materials that are oriented toward numerical literacy with the goal of raising student achievement standards Researchers used Learning Obstacle Identification as a basis to create a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) that focuses on literacy numeration of material circles.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan Ipteks Tepat Guna bagi Masyarakat (ITGbM) ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang bahan ajar, melatih keterampilan membuat bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan saintifik, guru memiliki bahan ajar yang sifatnya menemukan untuk meningkatnya prestasi belajar siswa, serta membantu program pemerintah dalam melaksanakan Kurikulum Tahun 2013. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada guru-guru SMP dan SMA Plus Nashrul Haq Al Islamy Tasikmalaya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survey, wawancara, dan pelatihan. Survey yaitu mengadakan koordinasi dengan pihak-pihak terkait seperti dengan yayasan, Kepala Sekolah, dan guru-guru SMP dan SMA Plus Nashrul Haq Al Islamy Tasikmalaya, kemudian awancara, serta pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan saintifik kepada guru-guru. Luaran yang akan dicapai dari kegiatan ITGbM ini yaitu peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun bahan ajar, draft buku ajar (kumpulan dari bahan ajar), dan publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal nasional. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ITGbM meliputi: pemberian materi tentang media pembelajaran, pendekatan Saintifik, bahan ajar; pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan bahan ajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Saintifik; praktek implementasi bahan ajar. Pada akhir kegiatan diberikan kuesioner kepada guru-guru untuk memperoleh respon, saran, dan masukan terhadap kegiatan yang telah dilakukan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan kuesioner diperoleh simpulan bahwa guru antusias mengikuti kegiatan dari awal sampai akhir, guru memiliki kemampuan membuat bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan Saintifik dan mengimplementasikannya,  kegiatan seperti ini belum pernah dilakukan, oleh karena itu perlu adanya pembinaan rutin bagi guru-guru dalam berbagai faktor kompetensi guru. Selain itu, memberikan motivasi kepada guru-guru untuk mempersiapkan media pembelajaran seperti bahan ajar dengan menggunakan Pendekatan Saintifik.Kata Kunci: Bahan Ajar, Pendekatan Saintifik.AbstractThe objectives of Ipteks Tepat Guna bagi Masyarakat (ITGbM) activity are to improve teachers 'understanding of teaching materials, to practice the skills of making teaching materials based on scientific approach. Teachers have teaching materials that are found to improve students' learning achievement, and to assist government programs in implementing 2013 Curriculum. This devotion is performed on teachers of SMP and SMA Plus Nasrul Haq Al Islamy Tasikmalaya. The methods used are survey, interview, and training. Survey is to coordinate with related parties such as foundations, principals, and teachers of SMP and SMA Plus Nashrul Haq Al Islamy Tasikmalaya, then interview as well as training and mentoring of teaching materials based on scientific approach to teachers. The outcomes to be achieved from this ITGbM activity are improving teachers' understanding and skills in composing teaching materials, draft textbooks (collection of teaching materials), and scientific publications in national journals. Implementation of ITGbM activities include: the provision of materials on instructional media, scientific approach, teaching materials; training and mentoring of teaching materials using scientific approach; the implementation practice of teaching materials. At the end of the activity is given a questionnaire to the teachers to obtain responses, suggestions, and feedback on activities that have been done. Based on the results of observations and questionnaires obtained the conclusion that the teachers enthusiastically follow the activities from beginning to end, teachers have the ability to create teaching materials based on scientific approach and implement it, such activities have never been done, therefore the need for regular coaching for teachers in various factors teacher competence. In addition, it provides motivation for teachers to prepare instructional media such as teaching materials by using the Scientific Approach.Keywords: Teaching Materials, Scientific Approach Â
