Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to develop the High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) test instrument. The instrument was presented into a valid and reliable questionary to get information of the XI grade student's HOTS on temperature and heat. The research was done at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The instrument has been trialed to 41 respondences on April 2018 at SMAN 1 Kabupaten Tangerang. The research was adapted from ADDIE approach which consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. The instrument consisted of 15 essays which the coefficient of reliability was 0.568, the difficulties and discrimination average were 0.817 and 0.363. Therefore the test instrument is proper to measure the student's HOTS.

Abstract

Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted every sector in the world. This virus spread through the droplet and infected healthy people. The typical of virus transmission is through droplets from coughing and sneezing. This study developed a simulation to model a virus spread just after the infected was coughed or sneezed. In the simulation, humidity, wind velocity, and temperature were considered.  The simulation was conducted with Hamiltonian Monte Carlo, where was set a random initial velocity and angle for every 200 droplets with 500 iterations of each. The transmission data was derived from three groups: the age of 15 to 30 years old, 31 to 50 years old, 51 to 68 years old. At the age of 12 to 30 years, the droplet range and height were 3.13 meters and -0.77 meters. At the age of 31 to 50 years old, the droplet range and height were 3.22 meters and -0.83 meters. At the age of 51 to 68, the droplets range and height were 2.82 meters and -0.58 meters. The highest droplet range was from the age of 31 to 50 years old. Therefore, the age of 31 to 50 years old or the productive age was considerable with the highest risk in the droplet transmission and virus spread. This study can be adopted to consider the effective prevention in controlling the virus outbreaks.

Abstract

Substitution of Ti+4 and Zn+2 ions on magnetic material BaFe12-xTix/2Znx/2O19 (x = 0 and 2) using the wet milling method has been performed. This research was conducted to get information the influence of Ti-Zn substitution on magnetic properties and its absorption. The magnetic material BaFe12-xTix/2Znx/2O19 is synthesized from a mixture of oxide materials, BaCO3, Fe2O3, TiO2 and ZnO. The mixture was milled for 5 hours, dried at 1000C then sintered at 10000C for 5 hours. The refinement result of the X-ray diffraction pattern shows that the sample has single phase BaFe12O19 with doping concentration of x = 0 and 2. The hysteresis curve shows that coercivity field value decreased in the sample with doping concentration of x = 2. The result of electromagnetic wave absorption shows that the substituted sample with Ti+4 and Zn+2 ions (doping concentration x = 2) has the highest absorption peak at a frequency of 11,2 GHz with reflection loss value (RL) of -24,3 dB. Electromagnetic wave absorption reaches 94% with sample thickness is about 1,0 mm. Therefore, the magnetic material BaFe12-xTix/2Znx/2O19 (x = 2) can be used for application of the electromagnetic wave absorber. Abstract

Abstrak Pembuatan senyawa hidrosiapatit dari tulang kortek paha sapi dengan proses ekstraksi telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghilangkan senyawa organik pada tulang sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku graft tulang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kimia dengan merendam tulang di dalam larutan Natrium Hidroksida (NaOH). Pengaruh variasi konsentrasi dan waktu perendaman NaOH terhadap proses ekstraksi tulang dikaji. Variasi konsentrasi larutan yang digunakan adalah 1M, 2M dan 3M dengan waktu perendaman 30 menit, 60 menit, dan 90 menit di dalam autoklaf bertekanan 1,5 atm dan temperatur 121°C. Hasil rendaman dianalisa dengan FTIR dan menunjukan adanya puncak gugus fungsi zat anorganik P-O, CO3 2- , dan O-H menyerupai kandungan tulang manusia. Sampel yang direndam pada larutan NaOH pada konsentrasi 1M dan 2M dengan waktu perendaman 30 menit masih ditemukan gugus fungsi C-H, yang mengindikasikan bahwa serbuk hidroksiapatit masih mengandung material organik sehingga beresiko pada reaksi penolakan oleh tubuh manusia saat diimplan. Namun demikian, serbuk hidroksiapatit yang dihasilkan dengan perendaman pada konsentrasi 3M dengan waktu 30 menit sudah tidak mengandung unsur organik, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku graft tulang. Kata-kata kunci: hidroksiapatit, kortek tulang sapi, Natrium Hidroksida, ekstraksi, graft tulang. Abstract The extraction of hydroxyapatite compounds from thigh bones cortex has been done. This research was aimed to remove the organic substances in the bones, so that it can be maintained as the raw material of a bone graft. The research employed a chemical method, the bone was soaked in the Natrium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution. The effect of various concentration and duration of bone's immersion in NaOH were also studied. The solution's various concentrations were 1M, 2M and 3M, therefore the various of immersion duration were 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes in a 1.5 atm autoclave at a temperature of 121o C. The immersion results were studied throughout FTIR. The results showed that there were some peaks of the inorganic P-O, CO3 2- and O-H substance function, correspond to a human bone characteristic. Samples which were immersed in the 1M and 2M of NaOH solution with duration of 30 minutes have yet a C-H functional group. It indicated that the hydroxyapatite powders have yet organic substances, so there is still a risk of rejection by the human body when it is implanted. However, the sample which was immersed in 3M of NaOH solution with duration of 30 minutes has no any organic substances, it can be used as the raw material of a bone graft. Abstract

We have developed a multi-representative book for Fluids using Science Technology and Society approach. The content of this book represents in verbal, mathematic, graphic, and table forms. Fluids series book presented from basic knowledge to advanced knowledge. Research method that applied is Instructional Development Model (IDM) by Atwi Suparman with Educational research and development approach model consist of 9 stages. Legibility test has done to 5 students with result of content reach 81,25%, language 80%, and presentation 82,5%. This book has validated by content, media, and instructional expert team. The percentage result of proper content 80,19%, media 78,91%, and instructional 90,28%. From the validation result and test obtain very good interpretation, so that development of multi-representative book for fluids can be used to be reference book. Abstract

Has performed the initial characterization of BaFe12O19 wasted magnet (Barium Hexaferrite). Characterization has done by analyzing the crystal structure using X-Ray Difraction (XRD). The analysis showed that the sample is a single phase, namely BaFe12O19. Samples with a hexagonal crystal structure (space group P63 / mmc), lattice parameters a = b = 5.892 Ã…, c = 23.183 Ã… with and . Samples also have the atomic density of 5.32 and the unit cell volume 693.608 with a crystal size of 632.7 Ã…. The results showed BaFe12O19 wasted can be reused as a new magnet material. Key word: Barium Hexaferrite, magnet wasted, crystal structure and XRD.

Abstract

Abstract The science laboratory at SMA Labschool Cibubur is currently not running the Occupational Health and Safety (K3) program optimally. There is a misunderstanding that the potential danger in the science laboratory in high school is relatively small because it tends to use relatively few chemicals, causing a lack of understanding of the potential hazards that will occur. Therefore, the PPM KKN UNJ team consisting of lecturers and a team of students from the Chemistry, Physics, and Fire Safety Engineering Study Program carried out service activities for implementing the K3 program at the Science Laboratory of SMA Labschool through training activities related to K3 (Chemical Material Management, Chemical Waste Management, Use of APAR). Emergency Management) and inspection of K3 facilities and infrastructure. The purpose of the PPM KKN activity at the Labschool Cibubur High School Laboratory is to improve the performance of the use and management of the Science Laboratory at the Labschool Cibubur High School. The more adequate the availability of K3 facilities, the less chance of accidents occurring. After participating in K3 implementation training activities, there is an increase in K3 culture in the Labschool Cibubur SMA laboratory. In this case, the compliance and awareness of all students and teachers to follow K3 SOPs, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, complete K3 facilities and infrastructure, and personnel who have K3 knowledge adequate Abstrak Laboratorium IPA di SMA Labschool Cibubur saat ini belum optimal menjalankan program Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3). Adanya pemahaman yang keliru bahwa potensi bahaya di laboratorium IPA di SMA relatif kecil karena cenderung menggunakan bahan kimia relatif sedikit menyebabkan kurang dipahaminya potensi bahaya yang akan terjadi. Oleh karena itu tim PPM KKN UNJ yang terdiri dari dosen dan tim mahasiswa dari Prodi Kimia, Fisika dan Rekayasa Keselamatan Kebakaran melakukan kegiatan pengabdian implementasi program K3 di Laboraturium IPA SMA Labschool melalui kegiatan pelatihan terkait K3 (Pengelolaan Bahan Kimia, Pengelolaan Limbah Kimia, Penggunaan APAR, Penanggulangan Keadaan Darurat) dan inspeksi sarana dan prasarana K3. Tujuan Kegiatan PPM KKN di Laboraturium SMA Labschool Cibubur adalah untuk meningkatkan kinerja penggunaan dan pengelolaan Laboratorium IPA di SMA Labschool Cibubur. Semakin mencukupi tersedianya fasilitas K3 maka akan semakin sedikit kemungkinan terjadinya kecelakaan yang terjadi. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan implementasi K3, ada peningkatan budaya K3 di laboraturium SMA Labschool Cibubur dalam hal ini kepatuhan dan kesadaran seluruh siswa dan guru untuk mengikuti SOP K3, penggunaan alat pelindung diri yang tepat, kelengkapan sarana dan prasarana K3, dan personil yang mempunyai pengetahuan K3 yang memadai.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid Virtual Microscopic Simulation (VMS) media used in light wave learning and evaluate the use of VMS media in increasing students’ level of understanding. The research method used in this research is research and development using the ADDIE model. The sample in this study consisted of 35 students at one of the universities in central Jakarta, Indonesia. The results showed that the development of VMS on the light wave material, when implemented, the gain test calculation increased the level of students’ understanding of 0.56 in the medium category. The results of the level of student understanding obtained complete understanding data by 52% of students understanding partly, 42% of students understanding incorrectly, and 3% of students not understanding. This shows that using VMS media on light wave material can enhance student understanding.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) has become an essential aspect of modern life. Everybody has to deal with ICT, especially for work. In Asia, ICT skills involve five main aspects: software development, ICT project management, enterprise architecture design, network and system administration, and information system and network security. Every year Indonesia sends workers to Singapore. In contrast, most of those workers are skilled workers for the household which their job responsibilities are taking care of the house, babysitting, taking care of the elderly and drivers. However, some of them have ICT skills, and some others do not have them. Therefore, Universitas Negeri Jakarta conducted a webinar on "the success key of digital technology utilization" to enhance the Indonesia Worker's comprehension of ICT literacy, which was participated by 210 Indonesian workers in Singapore. The webinar was divided into three parts, pre-test, speaker presentation, and post-test. The results showed that there was an increment of participant comprehension on ICT literacy after the webinar.
