Abstract

Much research has been done on guidance and counseling technology but only focuses on proving the effectiveness of technology applications in counseling. Unfortunately, research has yet to be found focusing on the proper framework for utilizing technology in guidance and counseling. This paper aims to formulate a framework for using technology in counseling services. A systematic literature review analyzes and combines information from various sources to obtain a comprehensive concept. Reference search results from 2011-2022 using published or perish (PoP) identified 69 references that met the literature criteria. The results of the study show that the use of technology in counseling must be oriented towards improving service quality by paying attention to the aspects: 1) Cultural and communication processes that will occur through technological devices, 2) Provisions and procedures for using technology-based services are to be agreed upon, 3) Readiness of technical knowledge from counselors as a service manager, 4) User experience in the technology application used.

Abstract

The death of the closest people leaves a feeling of loss and grief that can last into adulthood if it is not resolved. Children and adolescents are the most vulnerable subjects due to a lack of understanding about death and grief. Unfortunately, death education in Indonesia is still minimal, even though it can help children cope with grief as a basic response to loss. Death education should be provided by guidance and counseling teachers, but no studies or practices in Indonesia apply to this context. Therefore, this research was conducted to make recommendations based on a literature review on death education to help students cope with grief. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method which aims to synthesize and present in-depth data from 20 selected previous studies from Google Scholar, PubMed, Harzing, and Mendeley. The implementation of death education can be focused on the explanation of death, the value of life and death, and strategies to cope with the grief caused by death. Practical strategies to implement death education in Indonesia can be developed before being widely practiced.

Abstract

The profession of a counselor has responsibilities and job demands that require you to remain professional in carrying out your duties. The large number of work demands that must be carried out by the counselor is the cause of burnout so that it can have an impact on the counselor's performance. This study aims to identify the factors that cause burnout in counselors and the resulting impact seen from the counselor's performance when carrying out their duties. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review (SLR) by presenting some of the results of previous research originating from journal articles on Google Scholar so that five relevant previous studies are obtained. Based on five previous studies, it was found that counselors are prone to experiencing burnout due to work demands factors related to different counselee problems and a lack of social support. Counselors who experience burnout are marked by feeling emotionally exhausted then experience a depersonalization stage and at the final stage are characterized by low self-esteem. The impact of burnout on counselor performance from several previous studies has shown a decrease in counselors even becoming unprofessional in providing services to counselees. This is not in accordance with the professional code of ethics regarding the principles of professionalism that must be possessed by counselors in carrying out their duties by respecting and providing the best service for counselees.

Abstract

Children under the age of 18 years or minors are considered unable to make rational decisions so they need parental consent before getting counseling. However, parental consent can be a reason for children to withdraw from getting counseling assistance even though the problem is urgent. Therefore, this research was conducted to review the urgency of parental consent in the implementation of counseling for minors. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method which aims to synthesize and present more in-depth data from 21 selected previous studies in the form of journal articles and books on Google Scholar, PubMed, Harzing, and Mendeley. The urgency of parental consent before counseling for minors is a requirement, not a necessity, which means it is only to determine whether the counseling can be held and does not have a significant impact on the implementation of counseling. Therefore, counselors still have to prioritize the rights and beliefs of children in counseling. Limitations of decisions that can be made by minors without parental intervention need to be examined more deeply in future studies.

Abstract

Career maturity is a pivotal aspect in supporting an individual’s career development for the future. The success of a person’s career is influenced by their ability to make appropriate career choices. However, adolescents often lack a mature understanding and knowledge in establishing career choices, as they are not yet independent in decision-making. This indicates that the career maturity of adolescents still needs to be enhanced. To measure an individual’s career maturity, an instrument is required as a measurement tool. One method to investigate this instrument is by using the Rasch Model. Data collection is conducted using a Likert scale with simple random sampling technique. This study aims to analyze the construct validity of the career maturity scale from 136 junior high school students in Bandung. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey design as the research method. Data is analyzed using the Rasch model with Winstep version 3.73. The findings of the analysis indicate that the validity and reliability value is 0.86, meaning the instrument is considered good, although some items exhibit gender bias.____________________________________________________________Kematangan karier merupakan faktor kunci dalam menunjang perkembangan karier individu di masa depan.
