Abstract

Cerebral malaria (CM) forms part of the spectrum of severe malaria, with a case fatality rate ranging from 15% in adults in southeast Asia to 8.5% in children in Africa. A.Muricata was used to cure Malaria in traditional medicine. The research will examine the effect of it in the chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 3 (CXCR3) binding chemokines, including chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 4 (CXCL4), CXCL9. The intervented mice group were infected then the its spleen were cultured , incubation 72 hours and then analyzed the result. The CXCL9 level of PbA-infected mice treated with A. muricata are lower than group of infected mice without treatment. Lymphoblast level of PbA-infected mice treated with A. Muricata are higher than group of infected mice without treatment. A. Muricata treatment cure in the CM in the mice and may be a potential treatment in human CM.Cerebral malaria (CM) adalah keadaan infeksi malaria yang berat dengan tingkat kefatalan dari 15% di Asia tenggara dan 8% di Afrika. A. Muricata secara tradisional dipakai mengobati CM. Riset ini meneliti pengaruh A. Muricata pada ikatan chemokine (C-X-C motif) reseptor 3 (CXCR3)termasuk chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 4 (CXCL4) dan CXCL9. Kelompok mice intervensi diinfeksi dan limfanya di culture dalam inkubator 72 jam untuk dianalisis. Kadar PbA CXCL9 pada mencit intervensi yang diberi A. Muricata lebih rendah dari pada kontrol. Kadar PbA limfoblast intervensi lebihtinggi dari pada kontrol. A. Muricata memperbaiki CM pada mencit dan berpotensi sebagai pengobat pada CM manusia.

Abstract

Latar Belakang :Pelayanan keperawatan di rumah sakit salah satu faktor penentu kualitas pelayanan, perawat bertanggung jawab terhadap klien secara holistik. Survey pelaksanaan Asuhan keperawatan pada pendokumentasian kurang sesuai dengan pelaksanaan tindakan, dan survey tentang kepuasan kerja perawat ada 16,25 % mengatakan tidak puas. Motode: Survey, cross sectional, populasi perawat pelaksana DIII Keperawatan, sampel 73 orang, pengumpulan data dengan Angket, dokumentasi dan observasi, analisa data dengan regressi logistic. Hasilnya :Hasil penelitian tentang Loyalitas dari 73 responden 72 responden kategori tinggi dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan, kemudian dilakukan uji stastistik regresi Loyalitas koefisien wald 0,000 signifikansi 0, 993 tidak ada pengaruh loyalitas dengan kinerja perawat dalam asuhan keperawatan, Variabel kepuasan dari 73 responden kepuasan kategori tinggi ada 46 responden, kategori sedang ada 27 responden. Dilakukan uji regresi Kepuasan koefisien wald 5,203 signifikansi 0,023 , ada pengaruh kepuasan dengan kinerja perawat dalam asuhan keperawatan. Simpulan :Kepuasan berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan kinerja perawat dalam melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan. Variabel loyalitas tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perawat dalam melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan.

Abstract

Introduction: banana peels just end up in the trash to date. It needs to be thought of waste processing into a more useful product for health. This study aims to determine the effect of peel extract (Musa Paradisiaca var. kapok) toward the blood sugar level of New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits which have diabetes hyperlipidemia. Method: 27 male New Zealand White rabbit, age 4 months, average weight 1.5-2 kg. The raw materials of the ethanol extract were Musa Paradisiaca Var Kepok peels that were obtained from Traditional Market, Demak, Central Java Indonesia. Type of experimental laboratory research was conducted with a randomized control design pre-posttest design. The 104-day study was conducted at LPPT unit 4 UGM that has been standardized internationally. Results: The test results of repeated ANOVA on the blood sugar group 1 (O1) shows that at least 2 measurement times that had significantly different mean values with p-value= 0.003 <0.05. The result of the Friedman test on the blood sugar level for group 2 (O2) showed that at least 2 measurement times having mean value was significantly different with p-value= 0.001 <0.05. The group 3 (O3) indicated that at least 2 measurement times had significantly different value mean with p-value= 0.045 <0.05. There are the differences on blood sugar levels in each group and at each measurement time. Administration of ethanol extract of musa paradisiaca var kepok peels in the group (O1) with dose 200mg / kg bb and dose of 400mg / kg bb in group 2 (O2) have the same effect of hypoglycemia. Conclusion: an ethanol extract of musa paradisiaca var kepok peels have a hypoglycemia effect on New Zealand White rabbit with Diabetic Hyperlipidemia.

Abstract

AbstrakPasien diabetes melllitus (DM) seringkali tidak patuh terhadap pola diet yang dianjurkan. Banyak pasien DM yang mengalami berat badan berlebih atau kurus. Ketidakpatuhan diet menyebabkan rendahnya kontrol glikemik, dan meningkatkan komplikasi, disability and mortality. Kepatuhan dipengaruhi oleh keyakinan diri/self efficacy (SE), di sisi lain program peningkatan SE terkait dietDM belum banyak diteliti. Self efficacy training (SET)mampu meningkatkan SEsehingga kepatuhan diet meningkat. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis efek SET terhadap SE dan kepatuhan diet diabetesi. Metode menggunakan quasy experiment dengan rancangan post test nonequivalent control group. Sampel kelompok intervensi dan kontrol masing-masing 48 dan 51 orang. Intervensi dilakukan sebanyak 6 sesi selama 12 hari. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas responden adalah perempuan dengan usia 58-67 tahun. SE diukur dengan kuisioner DIET-SE dan kepatuhan dengan PDAQ Selisih nilai mean SE kelompok intervensi dan kontrol setelah perlakuan adalah 4,27 dengan p=0,000 dan selisih mean kepatuhan diet kelompok intervensi dan kontrol adalah 5,94 dengan p=0,000. Hasil uji multivariat dengan MANOVA didapatkan ada efek SETpada kedua variabel dependen yang sangat bermakna (p=0,000), namun jika dilihat dari hasil selisih mean dengan kelompok kontrol, variabel kepatuhan memiliki peningkatan nilai mean yang lebih besar dibandingkan variabel SE. Kesimpulan penelitian SET dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan diet pasien DM melalui peningkatan SE. Kata kunci: sef efficacy training; self efficacy; kepatuhan  AbstractDiabetic Mellitus (DM) patients are often not adherent to the recommended dietary patterns. Many DM patients are overweight or underweight. Dietary adherence leads to lower glycemic control, and increases complications, disability and mortality. Adherence is influenced by self-efficacy (SE), on the other hand SE improvement programs related to DM diet has not been much studied. Self efficacy training (SET) is able to improve SE so that diet compliance increases. The objective of the study was to analyze the effects of SET on SE and adherence to the diabetic diet. The method used quasy experiment with post tes nonequivalent control group design. The sample of the intervention and control groups were each 48 1 person. Intervention conducted as much as 6 sessions for 12 days. Results showed the majority of respondents were women aged 58-67 years. SE is measured by a DIET-SE questionnaire and compliance with PDAQ. The mean difference of SE values of the intervention and control groups after treatment was 4.27 with p = 0,000 and the mean difference of dietary intervention group and intervention was 5.94 p = 0,000. The result of multivariate test with MANOVA showed that there was a SET effect on both highly significant dependent variables (p = 0.000_, but if seen from the result of mean difference with the control group, the compliance variable had higher mean value than the SE variable. Abstract

Background: Obese is risk factor for abnormal glucose homeostasis and causes oxidative stress that can decrease insulin sensitivity resulting in hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia. Black soy bean contains anthocyanins and isoflavones, it is expected to reduce oxidative stress. Objective: Determine the effect of various dosage of black soybean extract (Glycine soja.) on blood glucose, insulin levels, and HOMA - IR in obese Sprague Dawley (SD) rats.Methods: True experimental study with randomized controlled pre test-post test design in male SD rats. Twenty four samples divided into 4 groups: control (K), 500 (P1), 750 (P2), and 1000 mg/kgBW (P3). Rats were induced to become obese with High Fat Sucrose Diet (HFSD) for 4 weeks then black soybean extracts were given for 2 weeks..Results: There was no difference in blood glucose before and after treatment (p> 0.05). There were differences on insulin levels in 500 (p = 0.012) and 750mg/kgBW (p = 0.020) doseges. There were differences on HOMA-IR in 500 (p = 0.043) and 750mg/kgBW (p = 0.028) dosages. There was difference in insulin levels’s difference (p = 0.009) between groups.Conclusion: There are differences on insulin levels and HOMA – IR in 500 and 750 mg/kgBW dosages groups. However, there is no difference on blood glucose before and after black soybean extract treatment. The most decreased levels of blood glucose, insulin and HOMA- IR were in 750mg/kgBW dosage.

Abstract

Backgound: Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) occurs when the intake and free fatty acid synthesis occurs more frequently than its oxidation and resecretion in the blood. Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant that can boost the synthesis of endogenous antioxidants in the body, suppress the inflammatory response and inhibit the formation of steatosis.Objective: To analyze the effect of melatonin supplementation in reducing body weight andTNF-α levels in male Wistar rats were fed by waste cooking oil.Methods: True experimental studyusing post-test only control group design. This study was done on 18 male wistar rats were divided into 3 groups : the positive control group (P0) was administrated waste cooking oil, the treated group 1 (P1) was administrated waste cooking oil and 5mg/kgBW melatonin, and the treated group 2 (P2) was administrated waste cooking oil and 10mg/kgBW melatonin for 28 days.Data analysis using One Way ANOVA test and followed by Tukey test to determine the most effective dose of melatonin.Results: There was significant difference in body weightbetween P2group and K0 group (p=0,019) with the mean body weight difference was 19,167g lower than K0 group. There was no difference in TNF-α levels between the three groups (p=0,155). Conclusion: Melatonin dose of 10mg/kgBWloses body weight male Wistar rats have given by waste cooking oil for 28 days, but does not reduce TNF-α levels.

Abstract

Background: Zinc supplementation decrease the risk of malaria parasitaemia, increasing ferritin serum level and hemoglobin in patients with malaria. Zinc influence the activity of aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALAD) an enzymes that catalizes heme synthesize. Vitamin B6 in pyridoxal 5-phosphate (PLP) from has a role in alpha-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) formation, which is the precursor of heme in hemoglobin. PLP also inhibit the growth of the malaria parasite.Objective: The objective was to analyze the effect of zinc and vitamin B6 supplementation on hemoglobin level, hematocrit and erythrocyte indexs (MCV, MCH and MCHC) of anemic Plasmodium vivax malaria patients.Methods: Double Blind Randomised Controlled Trial with pre and post test design. 30 subjects were divided into two groups: the suplementation group were given zinc 1x10 mg/day with vitamin B6 1x5 mg/day and the control group were given a placebo for 30 days. Data analysis by paired t-test, independent t-test and Mann Whitney.Results: There was an increase in Hb levels in the suplementation group (p=0.0001), the control group (p=0.001) and there was a significant difference on the increase between the two groups (p=0.020). Hematocrit significant increase only in the suplementation group (p=0.0001). There were no differences on erythrocyte index parameter in both groups.Conclusion: Zinc and vitamin B6 supplementation of for 30 days increase the hemoglobin level, hematocrit and there were no effect on erythrocyte indexs of anemic Plasmodium vivax malaria patients.

Abstract

Ekstrak daun sirsak (Annona muricata) mengandung antioksidan seperti flavanoid, acetogenins yang memiliki peran sebagai antiplasmodium secara in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun sirsak terhadap penurunan kadar Tumor Necrosis Fakctor-alpha (TNFα) dan peningkatan kadar Nitric Oxide (NO) pada limpa mencit Swiss betina yang diinokulasi Plasmodium berghei ANKA. Desain penelitian ini adalah Post Test only randomized Control Group Design. Sampel terdiri dari mencit Swiss normal (K-), mencit yang diinokulasi P. berghei ANKA (K+), mencit yang diberikan ekstrak daun sirsak 100 mg/KgBB/hari (P1), mencit yang diberikan ekstrak daun sirsak 200mg/KgBB/hari (P2), mencit yang diinokulasi P. berghei ANKA dan diberikan ekstrak 100mg/KgBB/hari (P3), mencit yang diinokulasi P. berghei ANKA dan diberikan ekstrak 200mg/KgBB/hari (P4). Rerata kadar TNFα kelompok P4 lebih rendah di banding kelompok yang lain (X=403,88). Uji Bonferroni kelompok P4 berbeda bermakna (p=0,04). Rerata kadar NO kelompok P3 (0,93) lebih tinggi dibanding K(+) dan P4. Hasil uji Mann whitney menunjukkan bahwa kadar NO berbeda bermakna antara K(+) dengan K(-), K(+) dengan P1, K(+) dengan P2, K(-) dengan P4, P1 dengan P4, P2 dengan P4. Hasil uji korelasi Spearmen Rank antara kadar TNFα dan NO menunjukkan adanya korelasi (p <0,05).

Abstract

Banyak teori diajukan untuk menjelaskan patogenesis trombositopenia dan hemokonsentrasi pada Infeksi Virus Dengue (IVD), termasuk teori autoimun. Hal ini menimbulkan pertanyaan apakah Rheumatoid Factor (RF) yang biasa ditemukan pada pasien autoimun juga ditemukan dan berhubungan dengan perubahan jumlah trombosit dan nilai hematokrit pada pasien IVD. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuktikan hubungan RF dengan jumlah trombosit dan nilai hematokrit pada anak terinfeksi virus dengue. Desain penelitian menggunakan analisis korelatif dengan pendekatan belah lintang dilakukan terhadap 40 pasien yang mengalami demam minimal 4 hari dan memenuhi kriteria diagnostik IVD menurut WHO 2009, usia di bawah 14 tahun, dan diagnosis dikonfirmasi dengan antibodi antidengue. Pasien dengan riwayat penyakit autoimun dan riwayat immunocompromised dikeluarkan dari penelitian. Sampel diambil secara konsekutif. Darah rutin diperiksa penggunakan hematology analyzer sedangkan RF diperiksa dengan metode aglutinasi lateks. Data diolah dengan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pasien dengan RF (+) sebanyak 62,5%. Hasil uji korelasi RF dan jumlah trombosit menunjukkan nilai r=0,151 dengan p=0,354 sedangkan hasil uji korelasi RF dan nilai hematokrit nilai r=0,3 dengan p=0,06. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat korelasi antara kadar RF serum dengan jumlah trombosit pada pasien IVD dan antara kadar RF serum dengan nilai hematokrit pada pasien IVD, walaupun ada kecenderungan peningkatan kadar RF serum diiringi dengan kenaikan nilai hematokrit.

Abstract

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells that have the capacity to regenerate tissue damage. However, they have several limitations. MSC-CM as a new approach treatment is widely used to solve the limitation of MSC in wound healing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of TNF-?-activated MSC-CM topical gel compare to topical-subcutaneous injection combination on wound healing acceleration. This study was conducted between April and August 2018 at the Stem Cell and Cancer Research Laboratory (SCCR), Faculty of Medicine, Sultan Agung Islamic University, Semarang. Experimental post-test only control group design was performed by involving 36 animal models randomly divided into six groups; T1, T2 (MSC-CM in topical gel 100 ?L; 200 ?L); ST1, ST2 (MSC-CM in subcutaneous injection : topical gel = 80 ?L:20 ?L; 160 ?L:40 ?L); CT (200 ?L medium free TNF-?); CST (PBS in subcutaneous injection : topical gel = 160 ?L :40 ?L). The measurement of PDGF level on day 3 and 6 was conducted using ELISA assay while the fibroblast density was analyzed by light microcopy. It was found that there was was a significant increase in PDGF and fibroblast density on day 6 in the topical group when compared to the combination group (p<0,05). It is concluded that the MSC-CM topical gel is more effective than combination of topical-subcutaneous injection.Key words: Combination, fibroblast, MSC-CM, PDGF, subcutaneous MSC-CM, topical MSC-CM MSC-CM Topikal yang diaktivasi TNF-? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menilai efektivitas MSC-CM topikal yang diaktvasi TNF-? dibandingdengan kombinasi topikal-injeksi subkutan pada percepatan penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April?Agustus 2018 di Laboratorium Stem Cell and Cancer Research (SCCR), Fakultas Kedokteran, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, Semarang. Penelitian menggunakan eksperimen laboratorium dengan rancangan post-test only control group, menggunakan 36 tikus galur wistar yang dibagi secara acak menjadi 6 kelompok; T1, T2 (MSC-CM gel topikal 100?L; 200?L); ST1, ST2 (MSC-CM injeksi subkutan : gel topikal = 80 ?L:20 ?L; 160 ?L:40 ?L); CT (200 ?L medium tanpa TNF-?); CST (PBS injeksi subkutan: gel topikal = 160 ?L :40 ?L). Pengukuran kadar PDGF pada hari ke-3 dan ke-6 mengunakan ELISA, sedangkan jumlah fibroblas dilihat mengunakan mikroskop cahaya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan kadar PDGF dan jumlah fibroblas yang signifikan dihari ke-6 pada MSC-CM gel topikal dibanding dengan kombinasi topical-injeksi subukutan (p <0.05).
