Abstract

The problem at SMAN 5 Solok Selatan is the low level of student learning competencies which includes aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Efforts that can be done are applying the LC 5E learning model on ecological material at Solok Selatan 5 High School. This type of research is a semi-experimental research design, namely the Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population in the study of all students of class X MIPA SMAN 5 Solok Selatan who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 Academic Year amounted to 111 people grouped in four classes. Sampling used purposive sampling technique, class X MIPA 2 as experimental class I and class X MIPA 1 as experimental class II (control). Instruments in the form of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude competencies and product assessment for skills competencies. Based on the results of the study using the t-test on the competency of students' knowledge the value of tcount was 3.012>1.67 t table, and the competency skill was tcount 3.67>1.67 t table. In the attitude competence of the experimental class 83% are good categories while the control class is 72% with sufficient categories. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted in the competence of knowledge, attitudes and skills. The conclusion of the study is that the LC 5E learning model has a positive effect on students' learning competencies in ecological material at SMAN 5 Solok Selatan.

Abstract

The development of Science and Technology (IPTEK) is so rapidly affecting the use of electronic technology in learning. Teachers are expected to be able to use multimedia in learning. One example of multimedia utilization in learning is the application for learning media in addition to PowerPoint presentations, namely the Prezi application. Prezi is an application that is used to make presentations more interesting. Prezi can contain text, images, videos and other presentation media placed on the presentation canvas and can be grouped in frames that have been provided. Most of the teachers who are not able to apply multimedia especially the Prezi application, it is necessary to have a guidebook to use the Prezi application so that teachers and students are able to use the application as a medium for learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to produce learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook on biodiversity material for high school class X students who are valid and practical. This type of research is research and development development research using the Instructional Development (IDI) model. The object of this research is learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook on biodiversity material for class X students. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class X high school UNP Laboratory Development as the practicality of using the Prezi application and guidebook and validation by 2 people Biology Department lecturer FMIPA UNP and 1 Biology High School teacher Development UNP Laboratory.Based on the results of the study, it was found that the results of the validation showed an average value of 89.93 in the valid category. This shows that the learning media using the Prezi application equipped with a guidebook was developed valid both in terms of feasibility aspects of content, language, presentation and aspects of graphics.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum encourages learners to have high-level high-level thinking skills high order thinking skills (HOTS). This requires teaching materials that are in line with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum such as Student Worksheets (LKPD). To develop LKPD in accordance with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum, it is necessary to analyze the needs of students about the LKPD. The purpose of this study was to see the needs of students' analysis of HOTS-based LKPD to hone higher order thinking skills so that students could think critically and creatively. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique was observation, interviews and questionnaires to students of SMPN 3 and SMPN 23 Padang. The results showed that the teaching materials available at SMPN 3 Padang and SMPN 23 Padang already used the 2013 Curriculum, but the LKPD used was only made by the Subject Teacher Conference. The LKPD made by the MGMP does not require students to analyze, evaluate and create which are indicators of HOTS. From the analysis of the curriculum, the two schools have implemented the 2013 curriculum, but in its implementate it has not emphasized a student-centered learning process. Based on the interview with the teacher, it was found that the problem in the learning process was that students were not used to higher-order thinking and there was no teaching material that specifically required students to improve higher-order thinking. Thus, the development of HOTS-based LKPD is very much needed.

Abstract

This study aims to analysis and reconstruct student practical worksheets that do not comply with standards. The standard used is the Vee diagram component according to Novak and Gowin (1984). The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis with stages analysis and try it. The sample used was 4 LKP samples from several textbooks used by various Senior High Schools in the city of Padang. The results of the analysis show that the LKP used still has weaknesses, especially in the protist material. The percentage of Vee diagram components that are still lacking is the theory / principle / concept component of 37.5%. Therefore, it is still necessary to develop and perfect practicum worksheets for students to gain concrete knowledge.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of Student Facilitator and Explaining  model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and  there have no learning process that pursue the students  to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; both cognitive and affective rather for students psikimotor  in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with randomize control  group post-test only design. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade VII.3 as the experimental group and garde VII.4 as the control group. The population of this research was VII grade students that devided into seven classes at SMPN 4 Koto XI Tarusan in academic year 2018/2019. The result of this research showed  the average score for grade VII.3 was (77,15) for experimental group and  (68,52) for control group in students' learning competency. Then for  behavioural competence the  average score in experimental group was (84,08) and the control group reached (78,96) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (2,73 > 1,68), behavioural competency (2,77 > 1,68).  Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Student Facilitator and Explaining model give positive effect for the students' learning competency in global warming material at SMPN 4 Koto XI Tarusan.
